It consists of the following parts: Motherboard: Asus P8H67-M EVO CPU: Core i5-2400 GPU: Nvidia GT 430, 1 GB RAM: 4x 2GB Kingston ValueRAM (DDR3-1333) PSU: 420W (branded from a local retailer) HD: Samsung HD103SJ, 1 TB Cooling: Intel stock cooler, 2x 120 mm fan (Front Intake and back exhaust), I also "hacked" in an 80 mm fan onto the side panel which is blowing air onto the GPU. Optical: Lite-On iHAS124-19 (DVD-RW) I want to ask if I could keep the motherboard, RAM and case, but upgrade the GPU, CPU, HD and PSU if needed. To replace the HD, I've got a SATA 2.5" SSD. CPU-wise, I could get an i7-3770 for about 45 CHF (47 USD). For a GPU, I dont quite know what is sufficient and still at a reasonable price. Ideally, the card doesn't cost more than about 150 CHF (156 USD), but I don't know if that is even possible. Is it even worth upgrading such an old motherboard? Thank you all for your answers!

I'm going to upgrade from my Pentium G2020 to i5-2400 soon. can I get noticably faster windows loading times and speed-up in programs like Filmora9, Photoshop and CPU-Intensive programs? will i5-2400 match my MOBO? Will it be a good upgrade? (I wont upgrade to i7 since its much more expensive here and its basically i5 with Hyper Threading and has slightly higher clock.) Can I get at least 10-20 more fps in games like GTAIV, GTAV and CSGO? (Im not overclocking anything.) One more question: is it needed to Reinstall Windows when new CPU is installed? PC Specs: Intel Pentium G2020 (Upgrading to i5-2400) GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5 4GB DDR3 RAM Gigabyte H61M-S2PV REV 2.2 (BIOS is updated.) Windows 7 SP1 x64 Any help would be appreciated

I have put my new Rog Strix rx460 4GB in my computer with an i5-2400, 8gb ram, 550w psu, and win 7 pro. But keep getting extremely low fps on any games even on ultra low; around 1-8 fps. It was a fresh computer when I did this, meaning I bought it on Ebay and it was cleaned and factory reset, so I installed updates for windows, all 78 of them, and ran the install drivers for Asus and Intel. The GPU is recognized and seems to be working because it is displayed in my device manager and I can overclock it, but I still have zero luck on being able to play any games. I dont know what the next step is, Ive already gotten rid of all my drivers and booted into safe mode and reinstalled them but no luck. Im really hoping for some help here on what I can do or just pointing me where to go.Thanks

I recently got an OEM (I think) Acer Veriton PC from a school that I'm currently doing work experience at as it was out of warranty and they were being donated anyway. I was just curious as to what the motherboard form factor was. I know it's not a conventional or consumer motherboard. I've looked in CPU-Z and it gives me the model and such but when I google them it just comes up with the PC itself and never says anything about the motherboard. I'm most likely missing something so any help would be amazing. Edit: Turns out I was missing something. The model number on the motherboard itself. Please excuse my idiocy.

I wasn't sure whether to put this on the 'GPU' thread or 'CPU, Motherboards and Memory' thread but I decided to put it on this one in the end. I have an i5-2400 PC with 8GB of RAM and an R7 250 1GB (GDDR5). The only current bottleneck of the system is the GPU and I was wondering what upgrade path I should go considering the motherboard only has a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot. I know that all PCI-E 3.0 cards are backwards compatible and I have done some research and everything points towards there not being a huge differene between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 performance, although I have been told that HBM cards suffer losses on PCI-E 2.0 as they need all the bandwidth they can get. I do want to be able to game comfortably at 1080p but I don't want to spend too much and I also only have a 430W PSU so a card like the 1050Ti seems like a good option. I was also curious as to what the maximum card with similar if not identical performance on PCI-E 2.0 as on PCI-E 3.0 would be. Any responses/help would be greatly appreciated.

I've long been wanting to build an secondary PC, to bring with me to LAN parties. Although I only visit 1 LAN party per year, the appeal of having a very compact PC is something that I've always wanted to have. Because the nature of LAN parties, I don't like the idea to bring my high end gaming rig with me. Therefore, I've decided to build a cheap gaming LAN PC. My parts: 20 EUR - Coolermaster Elite 130 + free 4 USB 2.0 5"25 Hub Sharkoon 40 EUR - I5-2400 (non K) with stock cooler 50 EUR - Intel DQ67P (m-ITX) + I/O shield 35 EUR - Corsair 4GB x2 1600 (total of 8GB) 100 EUR - Sapphire R9 280x 40 EUR - OCZ 600w Powersupply 10 EUR - 128 GB SSD Micron 5 EUR - 500GB 7200 Hitachi HDD Total money spend: 300EUR Click on spoiler to see picture part list. Honestly, I've never thought that I would be able to make a decent gaming PC rig for this price. The CPU will become a bottleneck at some point, but I've always been playing games on LAN parties that do not require any high end components. Again, this system was build to be just bring around at LAN parties. The games I would most likely play on LAN parties are: Hearthstone World of Warcraft Heroes of the Storm Overwatch Counter Strike Global Offensive FIFA series Rocket League Orc Must Die series Any other game like GTA 5 for example, I would be rather playing on my main system (i7 6700k, GTX 980ti). Unlike in the theme of Scrapyard Wars, I did not had any additional peripherals laying around for my secondary machine. Therefore, I had to buy them as well. I ended up with: 15 EUR - Logitech G15v2 5 EUR - Logitech MX310 + free mouse mat 100 EUR - 25" UltraWide LG25U65 (2560x1080) 20 EUR - 7.1 Corsair 2100 Headset with broken mic 10 EUR - Plantronic Desk Mic (new) Overall, I'm very happy with the parts I was able to get for the price I've spend on the used parts. I don't have any benchmark numbers or anything for new, but they will be available once I've spend my weekend at the LAN party (Sugarlan in Belgium). Hey everyone i dont know if im posting im the right spot but i have a Dell Optiplex 390 sff with an i5-2400. I was looking into putting a graphics card into it and it looks like the 1050 ti low profile card is the best i might be able to get working in the system. Some people online it seem to have no problem with this setup but dell lists the pci slot has a 25 watt limit and the card is a 75 watt card. Iv seen this system have issues with other 75 watt cards but for some reason the 1050 ti seems like it doesnt have this problem? I dont really know what i should do at this point, should i buy the card and try it out? Or is it a definite waste of money and just go with a gt 1030?

Soo, I started overcloacking my cpu one night(an i5-2400). it's orignal cloack speed was 3.10GHz but i got it up to 3.60GHz then i nodist when opening prime95 getting 3.73GHz but when running a stres test only hitting 3.60GHz. Can someone explain what's going on pls.

Hi iam a gamer and im getting a new pc with this spec : i5-2400 and 8go ram ddr3 and gtx 1060 3gb oc and 600w psu and acer h61 2 MB please i want to know if my cpu is going to bottelneck my gpu in this situation ?

Recently i've noticed in games such as GTA V and The Witcher 3 I get very bad stutter every few seconds and generally quite poor framerates. While i understand they're demanding games i believe my rig should be able to meet the task. I'm honestly entirely unsure what's causing the stutter, except that it may be a cpu issue of bottlenecking? Specs: i5-2400 8gb ddr3 ram 2x gigabyte r9-290 corsair cs750m psu gigabyte ga-b75-d3h mobo Honestly having typed this out i've questioned whether it was a ram issue, as i seem to regularly get out of memory errors in the witcher 3 as well, whether its a mobo issue, as i remember the 2nd slot is only x4 and the first is x16, or a cpu issue as it seems to always hover between 90-100% in both games. Happy to elaborate or answer any questions to get to the bottom of this and solve it, or to buy some new hardware if that's necessary, im just not sure how to diagnose the specific issue.
