Hi there everyone. Videographer/filmmaker in Durban South Africa. Been in the videography space since 2018 but fully took it up last year. My rig is as follows: CPU: i5 8600K (never been overclocked) GPU: AMD Radeon RX580 (ASUS Strix edition) 8GB MOBO: ASUS B360 Prime 2TB Hikvision [SATA SSD] 11TB of HDD storage (2x 4TB and 1 3TB) 500w PSU 32GB DDR4 RAM (2666 Mhz) It's served me quite well up to this point, Although I do find only 6 cores and 6 threads has limited me. I noticed this since my boss at the agency in which I work upgraded to an i9 10850k. This was specifically to edit RED footage for an advert that we've been commissioned to do. To say I was impressed was an understatement. That processor scrubs through the 6K timeline lik absolute butter. Coupled with the GTX 1660 in the box it does quite a respectable job. I've finished my stint in the office and am now contracted to go on a documentary shoot which will see me earn a healthy sum for 16 days on the road. I was thinking of upgrading my MOBO and CPU to a Ryzen 9 3900XT or 3900XT (strangely the latter version seems to be cheaper on e-bay, not sure why though). I'm not even thinking of a GPU since I think the RX580 has enough virtual RAM to make do on the editing rig. I don't even play games (my friends all roast me for this since I have the perfect gaming CPU), as I'm only interested in productivity and specifically editing. I use most of the Adobe suite (Premiere, Audition, Photoshop,After Effects), but since I'm a Fujifilm shooter I stricty use Capture One instead of Lightroom. SO my main concern is, if I can't make budget for the Ryzen CPU with the MOBO (preferably an x570 motherboard), is the 10850K (with a new MOBO of course) still a respectable upgrade option for my needs? Your thoughts/opinons are most welcomed.

Hi, my CPU is an i5 8600k with no overclock and a Corsair H115i AIO although I am getting between 40⁰c and 50⁰c idling temps, when I first turn my pc on it is actually at high 70⁰c and then plateaus at 40 - 50. I have tried re applying thermal paste multiple times (Artic MX-4 and some cooler master supplied thermal paste) and remounting the pump multiple times. Please can somebody help me as I'm now just lost.

So basically I just got an i7 9700k to replace my i5 8600k for my z370 Aorus Gaming 5. I bios updated it to F15b, F14, F12, and F10 all doesnt boot. Error code 78 keeps popping up and sometimes 62 but doesnt get pass the Aorus screen. A0 once but doesnt get pass that screen too and can't go into bios. F15b initially made my screen really stuttery and also like scratchy as if the connectors were not connected properly. When I switched into bios F14 it went into bios but when i left bios "bi initialize library failed 0xc0000229" popped up. Last but not least, i ran it through the f12 bios but it keeps flashing C1 and even after i insert my RAM it still flash C1. When I put my i5 back in it works perfectly. I got the cpu off ebay and its from a relatively high rating reseller. Does anyone know how can I troubleshoot this problem?

as title states CPU is OC to 4.7Ghz, very stable under 75c, im looking to go up from my GTX 1070, but i dont want to get a new GPU in the next couple years, so im really looking at a 2080Ti, maybe even a used one i play mostly somewhat heavy games, like Apex Legends, Borderlands 3 etc and am currently running 1080p 144hz, while i am looking to go for 1440p at 144hz, i just want to know if my CPU and the 2080Ti will be a good fit for eachother or there will be significant bottlenecks kind regards, jimboza1

Which is the best cooler master cooler for i5 8600k processor. I usually run at stock or light over clocking. Sometimes I might over clock at max. Which is better for my PC air cooler or liquid cooler. My budget is around 100-120$. Which cooler master air cooler or water cooler should I buy.

When can I expect i5 8600k and i7 8700k in Indian market. And what would be the approximate price in India. Are there any pre-order websites in India that sell 8th gen Intel processors.
-
Should I wait for i5 8600k or should I buy i5 7600k now. In my country I can get i5 7600k for 230$. I5 8th gen is expected to be around 300$ and motherboard would cost 30-50$ extra than the previous. I am building the PC for gaming. Show which processor would be a better choice.

Exactly what it says. I have been F5 on Newegg all day. Helping my friend with his Coffeelake build (Im staying AMD for now baby ) I saw for like a minute the Intel Core i3-8350K and I5 8600k Appear on Newegg, get sold out, now server is down. I don't know if a seller jumped the gun, because now you can't find them, or if the traffic crashed that part of their website.

Hi there, Sorry if this is the wrong section, it's CPU/GPU question. I'm building a new computer (desktop) and am concerned about a problem that I have with my current laptop. I don't want it to reoccur on my new desktop. My current laptop's situation: https://superuser.com/a/710310 (screenshot below of my laptop's Nvidia Control Panel) I'm looking at the new Coffee Lake CPUs, i5 8600K and i7 8700K. Both have intergrated Intel GPUs. I'm concerned that the intergrated Intel GPU will interfere with the Nvidia GPU (and Nvidia Control Panel) on my new desktop, like it's doing on my laptop. Should I be concerned or is there no reason to, because of different software and drivers? The new desktop will be using Windows 10. I need the Nvidia settings for Nvidia surround. If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks in advance! -- Casey

Hey everyone! So I bought myself an i5 8600k. K being unlocked for overclocking. So here's my question since I never oc'd a processor. The specs base clock speed is 3.6GHZ aprox 3600mhz. So since the processor doesn't come with a cooler I bough a cooler masters h212 evo. This was also my first cooler which wasn't stock so I decided to monitor temperatures. I downloaded the CPUID HWMonitor app and took a look at my temperatures and clock speeds. Everything is fine but i noticed something. Windows' monitor and the CPUID one both show my clock speeds at 4187-4193MHZ. The specs turbo are 4.3GHz. So , I was wondering how come my base clock is 3.6GHz , the actual one while watching yt and playing some games is like 4.1GHz and turbo is 4.3GHz? To my understanding Turbo is their certified safe OC ammount. I don't plan on OCing it. Will the processor basically up it's clock speed while not under heavy use and at low temperatures? Thanks!

So, i'm noticing something not normal with my system, my i5 8600k is bottlenecking my 1660ti, but it doesn't make sense because it shouldn't be (I don´t think). I think the problem is low RAM (8gb), making so that the CPU can't keep up. I even tried OC, got it to 4.7Ghz stable, with no cooling problems, but it didn't seem to do much, so I turned it to stock. I just want some opinion on the matter. 8gb 2400 mhz CL15 i5 8600k GTX 1660ti Thanks.

hi, i m going to build a pc for video editing in adobe premiere pro and doing little bit of after effect, gaming is not my priority and i will be not doing that(except for some time) i have narrow down some parts for my build but stuck with processor as a result motherboard and gpu is also not fixed(because i have a fix budget and according to that i have to manage thees parts) my build other than these three part is ram=====corsair 2400mhz 16x2==32gb storage==== a)segeate 1tb b) crusial bxm500 240gb psu==========vs550 in starting i m going with ryzen 5 2600 and 10606gb but after that i came to know that there is very much less requirement of gpu other than exporting(which in my case is not that much imp because i m wedding videographer and hence delay of 1 hr is ok for me but not much ) and also premier pro is optimised for intel cpu's. after that i again do some research and found these one with each cpu price i hooked up a gpu which does not break my budget i5 9400f is the cheapest processor and i7 8700k is the most expensive. here are the configration that i can do acccording to my budget i5 9400f + 1660 oc 6gb ryzen 5 2600 + 1060 gb i5 8600k + 1050 ti+ good cooler/ 1650 +normal cooler ryzen 2 2700 + 1050 ti i7 8700k + no gpu(no cash left). "i m getting motherboard of all these at the same price" also i m getting ryzen 7 1700 on price of ryzen 5 2600 and ryzen 5 1600 on price of i5 9400f please consider this also and help me out which is the best configuration for premier pro and also for future proof

Hey everyone,Going to be building a new pc for one of my family members since their one was purchased almost 6 years ago and he is in need of a upgrade. He is runs his own online business and his daily use involves chrome (with a shit tonne of tabs open at once), skype, photoshop, a bit of gaming here and there. Any thoughts on how to improve this build or make it better value would be greatly appreciated! Wanting to give him a computer to match his needs while not being too heavy on the bank. PARTS LIST:CPU: i5 8400 or i5 8600kMOBO: b360 or z390 moboRAM: 16gb ddr4 ramPSU: 750w powersupplyGPU: GTX 980 4GB HDD and SSD: From his previous build. I think the i5 8400 would be good but the i5 8600k has higher base frequency which may be good for him but is the overclocking really worth it for what he does daily? PLEASE HELP.

Lately I have noticed performance drop when I'm using PC after leaving it for a while in Idle mode. Turns out CPU won't go back to full speed after waking it up from idle, it remains undervolted/underclocked hence performance drop. One option is to keep it at 100% at all time, but i want that power save mode on. CPU is overclocked from 3,6Ghz to 4Ghz, keeping voltage options at auto, it was running stable till now (I'm using it for over a year), but I'm not sure if it's fresh matter. It rarely got chance to be idle, but i slightly changed my day routine now, so PC have more idle time now. Any help solving this would be much appreciated, thanks. specs: Intel i5 8600k@4Ghz ASRock Z370 Extreme4 G.Skill Trident Z 2x8GB DDR4 3200Mhz MSI GTX 1060 6gb gaming x Corsair RM650X Windows 10 Pro I'm using Fractal Define Ctg case with Corsair H100i v2 AIO cooler inside, with 3x120mm corsair SP120L fans mounted on front. Attached pics are showing CPU voltage and speed before and after idle period.

Hi I have recently completed my PC build. i5 8600kZ320F ASUS motherboardCorsair vengeance 16GB RAMSamsung evo 258gb SSDCooler master lite 120 liquid coolerSMPS : i have used CX750 non modular for couple of days then replaced with RM750xIssue: when i used CX750 my liquid cooler used to turn on even before pressing the power button. Now after replacing CX750 with RM750x, aurasync is getting turned on even before pressing power button. I have kept it off through software. Once i press power button aura sync is getting turned off. With RM750x liquid cooler is turning on only after i press power on button. Please tell me what is the expected behaviour, what i am getting is it proper or do I have any issue with motherboard. Please tell what is orientation of fan, switch in RM750x. Weirdly my RM750x switch is operating in reverse compared to normal switches we see!!Thanks in advance Being a laptop user for long, I have very limited knowledge on motherboard cabling.

Im planning my first build soon but im stuck on the CPU I can get an i5 9600k for the same price as the i5 8600k. The only diffrence is that I will have to ask a reletive to bring it over because it is in a different country( Near by ) and it will take about 2 weeks. Is there a performance difference or any diffrence at all and if so is it worth the wait ? Also will a cryorig h7 be enough to overclock those cpus?

Hi, I’m planning to upgrade my current gaming/streaming rig to a 1080 Ti from 1070 Ti. However, I’m afraid that my existing i5 8600K will cause bottlenecking. My i5 8600K is running at factory default. And I have a 600W PSU. I’m upgrading because my monitor is 144Hz and I want to fully utilise it but my 1070 Ti was only able to get around 100-120 FPS for some of the triple A titles like GTA V and Watch_Dogs 2. Any suggestion on the build, will it cause bottlenecking or any issue? Btw I have 16GB of DDR4 ram @2400Mhz and Gigabyte B360M HD3 Motherboard.
