Attached is a video containing my audible confusion as I came to the realization that my little Core i5-8500 is an absolute beast that eats Threadrippers for a balanced breakfast. Of course, this isn't the actual case, I was just stress-testing the CPU after having to re-seat my aircooler and wanted to make sure I had full coverage. As I understand it from just a quick googling, this is an issue where Cinebench doesn't actually render the scene while the test loops? If so, do I just need to reinstall the software? Or could it be an underlying issue? Full Specs: - Intel Core i5-8500 - Gigabyte H310M S2H (btw, what micro-atx motherboard should I upgrade to? I have recently got an rx6600 and all I had are problems, I have it paired with an i5-8500, an I have low power consumption and low utilization of the gpu and cpu in fortnite, and I am now in a match with bots in cs go, and I am noticing the same, and It s barely drawing 35w, anyone know how to fix, I wouldn t like to return it! Hi, i have i5 8500, vega 64, 8x2 ddr4 @2666mhz cl 12-14-14-32. I installed planet coaster and im having terrible frame rates, i noticed low RAM usage for a startegy/sim game of just 5GB. i googled the usage and some say it ranges from 7 or 8 up to 16GB. i dont have similar issue with other games.

Hi, i have i5 8500, strix vega 64, 16GB (8x2) DDR4 @2666mhz and freesync monitor 40-75 im currently playing total war three kingdoms and planet coaster, as you can see from the attached im having terrible frametime fluctuations on almowt steady frame rate within freesync range which causes games to bece sluggish? all drivers are upto date, no overheating.. no seeing this on FPS games like BO4 and The Division 2. is this normal in simulation and strategy games?

hi, My rig: i5 8500 Strix Vega 64 8x2 DDR4 2666mhz. (cl 14-16-16-34) Ultrawide 2560x1080@80hz monitor. I installed fresh copy of windows, all drivers are up to date, tried multiple GPU drivers, temperatures are fine, cpu usage is fine, gpu usage mostly in 90s%, no drops in usage. Im suffering from Microstuttering in games like the division 2, anno 1800, Two point hospital. i play Black Ops 4 and I rarley grt any stuttering not like other games. tried changing settings with no luck. i play using freeeync and RTSS frame capped to 78, vsync in off in most games, vsync on doesnt make things better, radeon chill and enhanced sync are off as well. i have 2 low end SSDs, tested them using crystaldisk and got 350 average read write speed!!, benchmarked my PC on 3d mark and userbenchmark and results are as expected. what the issue here?

hi, i have the below specs i5 8500 vega 64 16GB ddr4 2666mhz on fast games like BO4, Overwatch, i get smooth gaming with no stutter. however on other games like Far cry new dawn, the division 2 and other steam games i get Microstuttering when fram drops even 1 frame. i tried everything, format, changing where games are installed, multiple gpu drivers and bios, cmd chkdsk... and nothing worked. tries vsync on, off, chill on off, riva tuner frame cap.. and still the same. other thoughts?

Hi, i ran 3d mark, fire strike benchmark on my vega 64 and i got relatively low score around 23500, same card with same core and memory clock and sometimes lower are getting much higher score. i tried manual and defualt overclocking with almost same results, gpu usage and temps are fine, no spikes. i have i5 8500, thermaltak smart se 730w PSU, GPU is standing vertically using thermaltak gaming pcie riser/ extender. pcie is set on gen 3 in bios, all set on high performance. what could be the issue?

Hi, i have the below rig i5 8500, usually consumes 50w strix Vega 64, usually consumes 250w 8GBx2 DDR4 2 SSDs, 1HDD 6 120MM RGB fans PSU: Thermaltak smart se 730w a friend of mine told me that my psu will burn other components, and will damage the GPU phases and GPU internal components due to poor power delivery to the GPU. is that true? and do i need to change the PSU? is seasenic 630w plus gold sufficient?

Hi, Recently i got new pc parts and assembled them, i5 8500 Asus Strix vega 64 8GBx2 DDR4 Predator 2666mhz, 13-13-13-30 Gigabyte M360M Thermaltak smart se 730w PSU. using thermaltak pcie gaming 3.0 extender for GPU mount. im hearing coil whining, like a bee nest inside, come and goes, the weird thing is sometimes when I click the mouse the whining disappears for seconds, sometimes i notice stuttering in the same time the coil whining disappears. a friend of mine told me my gpu is weak to handle the rig, the same reason i get low Benchmark performance on 3d mark and userbenchmark. userbenchmark: below expectations. 3d mark: 23000 points, others get 25k easy. all temps are fine, all set to high performance. other parts are doing just fine on benchmarks. shall i change the PSU, for better performance and less whining?

Hey guys! I need some urgent help. Im going to upgrade my pc tomorrow, reason being, my i5 6500 is bottlenecking my gtx 1070. (In many games 100% cpu and 40-60% gpu). With my budget I have a few routes I can take. ie: 1) Ryzen 5 1600 with 16 gb 3200 mhz ram and decent mobo. 2) Ryzen 5 2600 with 16 gb 2400 mhz ram and decent mobo. 3) i5 8400/8500 with decent mobo and 16 gb 2400mhz ram. 4) 8600k with decent mobo and stick with my current 8gb 2400 mhz ram. Note: PC will mostly be used for gaming and media consumption. Please tell me which route I should take and also feel free to give me your ideas. Thanks!

The options in the market which I can afford is the Ryzen 5 1600 and the Intel i5 8500 + Intel Optane Memory and a GTX 1060 3GB with a B350 or B360 Motherboard respectively. I'm from Bangladesh and here the prices are quite steep and my build Budget is around 77,000 BDT which is US $911 at current exchange rate Only planning to use SSD for boot drive. For the rest of stuff I'll be using HDD. Prices for the CPU Ryzen 5 1600 - 15,000 BDT which is equivalent to US $177.42 Or, Intel i5 8500 - 17,200 BDT which is equivalent to US $203.44 Intel Optane M.2 16GB - 4000 BDT which is equivalent to US $47.31 Also, the GTX 1060 3GB is priced at 24,000 BDT which is equivalent to US $284 I'll be using the PC for Gaming, Editing in Premiere and Photoshop, a bit of Music Production and lastly watching Linus's Beautiful Face I want the PC to be a bit future proof as in an upgrade path so than i can Upgrade later on if i need to. Do you guys think that Optane Memory is a good deal to make an Intel Build? After seeing the results of the performance enhancement using optane my mind is bamboozled and I'm again confused about the two options. But, seems like Ryzen will allow me to Upgrade till 2020 with the same Chipset with Bios Updates. Both Options are pretty tempting. Can Ya'll tell me something which can finalise my decision!. The release of additional iterations of intel's i3 and i5 coffee lake CPUs (i3 8300, i5 8500 and i5 8600) sparked much controversy due to their price points. The consensus for this controversy was that there were better valued CPUs in the same categories as the new iterations (i3 8100 and i5 8400). Recently there has been a great reduction in the prices of the less than loved iterations however the prices of the beloved remain the same. Figures below I'm curious why the prices of the new releases have gotten such a significant reduction in such a short period of time, while the initial releases who are months older are still close to MSRP. I understand that lack of sales drive prices down but the comparative performances of the initial releases and their counterparts are negligible to say the least. Why then do they exist? Is this the first time Intel has created "improvements" with negligible performance differentials in such a short space of time with an unjustified initial price gap followed by a price drop that brings about confusion and buyers remorse for patrons of the initial releases? The congruent answer would be.. "It doesn't matter", "I'm happy with what I have" and "I don't care..." understandable... Why then do they exist? why would you buy the 8400 when the 8500 is right there.... then what purpose is there for the 8400? Why do these exist...?
