So I got this weird issue with a old motherboard of mine that already was malfunctioning in the past (The sensors of temps and voltages aren't reporting their values properly). Everytime I boot up and get into Windows or Fedora, the system just shuts itself down after 30 minutes. There's a few things I have done to troubleshoot: Replace the PSU with another one Put the RAM stick in different slots (two slots don't work anymore) Clear the CMOS battery Refit the CPU Reflash the BIOS (upgraded and downgraded) I tried to even use my computer without a dedicated GPU, but for some weird reason my motherboard won't let me use my iGPU (option isn't even available in the BIOS, just says AUTO and PCIE). This is like one of the few rare cases that I am unable to solve. However I feel like it's time that I just put the old hardware to rest. Already ordered a new one just in case, but if there's a way I can save it, I'd love to hear it. Motherboard in question is a ASUS B85M-G. CPU is a Intel Core i5 4570 and the GPU is a Nvidia GeForce GT640

Im considering to buy a CPU i5 4570 paired with gtx 1660 6gb for the lone porpuose to play DotA 2 moslty at mid tier graphic ( just as the map looks alive) Would this pair considered good as in just running the game smoothly +60 fps ? both cpu and gpu are new Is SSD mandatory? 8 gb ram Thanks

I have an issue regarding a new build! This is my forth computer I've built, but the first that I've ran into this issue with! The issue is, when I click the on button on the PC, the fans spin for about half a second then switch off, that's as far as it goes.. I've tried the motherboard with just the CPU and CPU fan installed but its still the same.. I had the CPU power connected too, so that's that issue out of the way! The specs i5 4570 (USED) ASUS H8M1-A (NEW) 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Ram 1800MHZ (NEW) Corsair VS550 PSU (From previous system) Asus Radeon HD 6870 GPU (From previous system) I'm wondering if the CPU is bad, would that be causing my issue? I'm at a lost now of what to do, I've taken everything out and reconnected it all a few times, tried it without only the CPU and CPU fan installed but I just can't get it to get past the fans switching on then back off within a second, no display, beeps or anything. The motherboard does have the green LED lit though, if that helps! Any suggestions on what to do now? My first build that hasnt gone to plan

Would you guys/girls say it’s worth upgrading to an i5 8400 or i5 8600k ? my current specs are: i5 4570, gtx 1070, 8gb ddr3

Hello all, Haven't visited the forum in a while, so I'll go straight to the point. I own an old but trusty Dell Optiplex 9020 mini tower, with the specs: I5 4570 8GB DDR3 RAM 300W OEM Power supply (with 8 pin connector to Motherboard instead of usual 24 pin) Nvidia GTX 750ti 240 GB SSD + 600 GB HDD 2 x 24'' Dell monitors (60Hz) - These will not change as my peripherals are all supplied by my employer. I usually play World of Warcraft as main game, but also a lot of Rocket League, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, F1 2016. I had noticed my rig could not handle witcher 3 very well but on medium to low settings it was playable. However, recently after buying F1 2018, I noticed I could not play smoothly at all at 1080p. I had to lower to 900p to have a decent frame rate. I believe I will continue gaming forever but always 1-2 hours per day maximum, so I am not planning for a top spec machine. I also have family investments coming so need to spend as little as possible, but also keep in mind it should last me a decent amount of time. So, the question now is Buy a new tower, for around 640 USD Case - Corsair Carbide 200R - 63 USD Power Supply - EVGA 600 BR 600W Bronze CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 1500X w/ cooler MoBo - ASUS B450 RAM - 8GB DDR4 Graphics card - Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB Note: I already own the SSD + HDD I will need. Upgrade my existing rig with the following parts for a total of 375 USD: COOLER MASTER MWE 550W 80+ BRONZE (65 USD) Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB (300 USD) 24 pin to 8 pin adapter for the Power supply Motherboard connector. (10 USD) Upgrade my existing rig with minimal specs for 255 USD: COOLER MASTER MWE 550W 80+ BRONZE (65 USD) Nvidia GTX 1050 ti (180 USD) (requires only 75W from the PCI board) 24 pin to 8 pin adapter for the Power supply Motherboard connector. (10 USD) If any of the above lasts me at least 2 years I am absolutely fine. If less then I might be more inclined for a new build. Thoughts? Regards

So I've got a weird one here boys and girls and I need some help if it can be provided. I have this graphics card a GTX 960 windforce (https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Graphics-Card/GV-N960WF2OC-2GD#ov) that works, just not on anything I've plugged it in to that's a haswell chip and I can't figure it out. I bought my brother the card along with giving him my old gaming PC for christmas (he just got around to hooking it up now that he's got his own place) and it doesn't work The weird thing is the card isn't just outright dead, it completely works (tested with games and benchmarks) in - My ryzen 5 1600 system - Lenovo C20 workstation I have with 2 westmere xeons - Old AMD phenom II x4 (former brain for the emulation box before haswell upgrade) It does not work in (not even detected as an unknown device, no display out from any port) - an emulation box I put together for my dad, featuring an i5 4430 on a stock HP board - My ITX system, featuring a 4570 with a Zotac H87 ITX - His system, featuring a 4670k on a gigabyte z87x-ud4h The graphics cards from each of these other computers work in his, an r5 220 from the workstation, my vega 64, gtx 460 from the emulation box, AND a 960 MSI armor card from my ITX system. This one has got me heckin stumped boys, the card works, just not in either of the systems where would want it (obviously I'd be willing to trade his 960 for mine but since the card doesn't work in that system either....) Can someone help me get this lousy headache inducing gift running?

Hello, Yesterday I upgraded my system and just made a rush build of below specs Motherboard: Intel DB85FL Processor: i5 4570 Ram-14GB PSU: Antec 500W EarthWatt GPU: RX 570 8GB Boot Device: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB Casing: Normal Mini ATX (Air Cooled 1 fan on the back) So the issue is When I start a cpu intensive task like exporting video on Shotcut the CPU temp go above 80'C - 81'C and the task manager shows speed at 3.37GHZ, meanwhile I see this processor can boost up to 3.6GHZ. I previously owned i5 3470, and I think that CPU performed better than this one. Can you Please suggest what could be wrong with the CPU, it is currently running on stock cooler, the room temperature now is 23.5'C, but CPU temp is above 80'C.

Would a 1060 3gb be bottlenecked by a i5 4570? Games like Kingdom come deliverance are getting into the high forties to high fifties on low settings. I've seen people getting 60 fps on high settings, but I can't get close. It also can barely get 60 fps on Farcry 5. I feel like i'm missing something, but i'm not sure what. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I am hoping to upgrade my graphics card and found a good deal on a GTX 1070Ti mini. I currently have an i5 4570. If I keep the i5, will it bottleneck the GTX 1070Ti? Also, if you know, how does the GTX 1070Ti mini (the Zotac card) compare to other 1070Ti's as well as the 1070 and 1080? Thanks

Hi I have been thinking about upgrading my cpu lately, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it my current setup is: Gtx 1070, i5 4570, 8gb ddr3 1600mhz. I mostly play games like PUBG/Fortnite at 1440p. So I was wounding what you guys/girls think? Would it be worth the upgrade to get an i5 8600k, 16gb ddr4 3200mhz? thanks in advance.

Hey Guys,So currently I'm thinking of upgrading my GTX 770 to a 1070, however since my current CPU is the i5 4570 I am worrying that it is not strong enough and might produce some slight bottlenecking.I've been watching some videos from people uploading gameplay videos with similar specs and checking out how it performs on their systems. Seeing that there seems to be some bottlenecking in many games @1080p I was wondering if using some supersampling technology to render @1440p while still being on the same 1080p monitor would help eliminate this problem?I am thinking of upgrading to a 4790k or maybe Ryzen 5 down the line but for now I think the GPU upgrade seems much more important, this 770 is definitely showing it's age by now.Would appreciate any opinions and input on this matter, cheers!

I have a GTX 970 and an i5 4570, and I feel like, only in some games, that my gtx 970 is underperforming. I play dragon age inquisition at 50-70 fps, on high-ultra, and bf4 at 60+ on ultra, but when I play smite, a dx9 game at max settings I get 120 fps while it is at a 150 fps cap. with my r9 280x, I used to hit that 150 fps cap. the 970 is obviously way way WAY better though so what could be the problem? could smite possible favor team red?

Having very odd framerate issues that have started recently. It started during the smite world championships over the weekend. I have only noticed it with smite but i can only assume with it will be with other games as well, as smite is only dx9. Ok so i have three monitors and iw as watching the smite world championships, swcs, on twitch and i noticed the i was getting 60 or below fps in smite with a 4570 and a gtx 970 and i was like dafuq. i know its not a cpu gpu bottleneck and my cpu is only a year old, maybe a little more, stock cooler tho. then i noticed that the same thing was happening when i was just watching a youtube video. what is goin on, hallllp

Hi guys, I got a pretty nice rig with an i5 4570 and a GTX 780 and I saved up some money to add another 780 to run em in SLI and then play on three monitors. Now I got some questions and I hope you guys can help me out! Is my CPU good enough to feed two 780s? Is it possible to run three monitors with two graphics cards, and are there downsides? Can you recommend a Motherboard for me? If I were to get a GTX 650 to run PhysX on, does it have to be in the SLI config?? Thanks in advance for answering my questions!
