Dear All, I would love to know weather what I am planning makes any sense. So: i3-8100 + 1060 3gb or 1050ti (other? ) Does this make sense with only z370 available? I found quite affordable board: MSI z370-a pro. Prices are quite different in Poland, so I would rather like a general information about what you think. - 1060 6 gb is too expensive for me. - I will use some cheapo case - I do not have any desktop, just old laptop. (I do have an access to an i3-4160 based Dell system for around $50, but would need to buy pretty much all besides CPU as it is small optiplex 7010,and there might be a limit on pcie slot to 50w (cannot find proper info) and there is little to non clearance for 1050 Ti low profile) - I wish to play some games 1080p not ultra wide or anything. (eg. witcher 3, fallout 4) Please give me some feedback Best regards

Which pairing would make more sense? Assuming I would ONLY play games on my computer with Discord and maybe a few chrome tabs open and running a 1080p 75Hz IPS monitor? I don’t care for ultra graphics, so would the 1060 be worth it for me? Really, I have been playing on low settings all my life and have NO problem with the guality whatsoever. Games I play most: Rainbow Six Siege Battlefield 1 Rust PUBG CSGO Oh BTW i3-8100 + 1060 pairing costs exactly €55,- more!

Hi, I would like to build a computer ( first time ) and I did a bit of research on how to do it, watching linus videos and other youtubers and researching compatible parts. I base my entire build on the I3-8100 ( I saw that processor thanks to linus video if not I would have bought an i5 for 170£ or something ) that will come out probably next year so I tried to find parts that would fit with. Processor : (i3-8100) https://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i3-8100-s-1151-coffee-lake-quad-core-4-thread-36ghz-6mb-cache-1100mhz-gpu-65w-cpu-box Motherboard : (MSI Intel 1151 Socket Z370 Chipset Z370A-Pro D4 ATX Motherboard - Black) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075NFFNPJ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2Y6592NB14DJK&coliid=I11N1C97AAKK8I Power Supply : (Corsair CP-9020047-UK Builder Series CX500 ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply Unit, 500 W) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009RMP2VE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2Y6592NB14DJK&coliid=I208F4H8VCIAAU&psc=1 Graphics Card : (Gigabyte GTX 1060 3GB) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Nvidia-1060-GDDR5-PCI/dp/B01KHWOAR4/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1507647514&sr=1-1&keywords=1060 Memory : (HyperX FURY 4 GB DDR4 2400 MHz Memory Module - Black (Skylake Ready)) x2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013H7U6FQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2Y6592NB14DJK&coliid=I109FI91W6APMQ&th=1 Case : (NZXT Source 340 Trim Mid Tower Case with USB 3 Side Window 2 x 120 mm Quiet Fans without PSU - Black/Blue) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RN3SISI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2Y6592NB14DJK&coliid=IGFTT4FAYTNYT&psc=1 With a hard drive, maybe SSD, i'm still thinking about it. The computer would be to game and to do basic things. Being able to run games in 1080p at 144hz in low settings without being to old to run new games to be totally obsolete in terms of technology. Can you guys give me some advice on the parts and the build overall ? If I should change something etc etc or if I am missing something important ? Thanks in advance.

I just got this PC just like 5 months ago but I wasn't satisfied with the performance. I know I should've saved up some money before purchasing a much more better CPU. Right now I'm planning on having this old parts, i'll give it to my girlfriend for her workstation. So my specs are: i3-8100 8GB ram 2666mhz Rx 570 4gb Thermaltake 500W PSU Asus H370-f ASUS VX278H Gaming Monitor - 27" FHD I would really appreciate any feedback from you guys. And if you could in which order do i need to purchase the parts.

Hi, I would like to know would it be worth it to upgrade my i3-8100 to either an i5-9400f or a R5-3600. I am currently on an Asus ROG Strix B360g motherboard and would like to upgrade my CPU. My question is what do i choose, the i5-9400f where i can keep my current motherboard or will the performance increase be worth it to go for a full AMD purchase of the R5-3600 with a motherboard? I currently have a GTX 1050 ti which i am going to be upgrading at later stage.

Hi, I just ordered; Asus Strix Rog H370-F Gaming mobo. Intel i3-8100 processor Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2 x 8GB at 3000MHz The memory module limit on the motherboard is 2600MHz, and Asus' website even says; **DDR4 2666MHz and higher memory modules will run at max. 2666MHz on Intel 8th gen 6-core or higher. The i3-8100 is a 4-core processor. Does anyone know what speed I can hope to get on the memory modules with this setup, and more importantly, will it even work? ? Any input is appreciated! Thanks, Tom

Hello everybody ^^ After a strike of luck, I am finally able to upgrade my build to the current generation. But lady luck is a foul mistress, because our economy is going bananas as we speak (The current currency rate is: 40AR$ = 1US$, for now...) These are the CPUs I've got in mind: The Ryzen 5 1600x and the I3-8100 Both CPUs are around 7000AR$ (That equals around 180 freedom bucks plus change, IF the currency stays at the current rate) I am looking to get a decent CPU that will handle live streaming (480/648p 60fps, because my ISP sucks) + "low end" gaming I just want to run some oldies such as TES V, the CoD saga, GTA, PS2 emulation every now and then, rhythm games and maybe AAA titles at 1080p low (or mid...) I am thinking of pairing either CPU with a budget motherboard (A b350 for amd or a b360 to LUCKILY upgrade the CPU to an I5 in like..10 years...) and 16 gb of ram. My current build: fx4100 (don't laugh at me, I was once like you ;; ) gtx 1050 2gb (SSC) 8gb of ram DDR3 Corsair CX550m Should I follow my heart and go for it? or is there a better config for my needs. p.s.: Since I don't know if my current cooler (hyper 212 plus) will be compatible with the AM4 bracket that CM sells, I am buying a cheap cooler for the AMD cpu. Any help's appreciated, thank you for reading this wall of text and have a wonderful day!!

Hello everybody! Hope you all have a good day in your lives. This build will be my first build so Im a bit excited to build it lol. Its a budget build, all new except the GPU. Which I will look for a used 950. Now I had plans for a gt1030 instead then I skipped it and said I wanted to go for the 1050ti, doe im finding some good prices for used 950 around 120-140$. Currently im living in Turkey and the prices here are way up. Brand new 950 goes a thick lower then the 1050ti which is a bit funny aswell. So the goal here in this build is to play CS:GO / PUBG which the gpu is enough. 2GB of VRAM doe but it will do. Now the prices in April was 550$ for this build. Now its 630-650$ and the prices goes up every single day. Dollar is literally killing us. Anyway the pc specs are down below: Motherboard: MSI 8th gen H310 Gaming Plus Intel 2666MHz (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/H310M-GAMING-PLUS.html) CPU: i3-8100 (http://www.vatanbilgisayar.com/intel-core-i3-8100-soket-1151-3-6ghz-3mb-onbellek-14nm-islemci.html) GPU: MSI GTX 950 2GB (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GTX-950-GAMING-2G.html) RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws V 8 GB DDR4 2400MHz (http://www.vatanbilgisayar.com/gskill-8gb-ripjawsv-kirmizi-ddr4-2400mhz-cl15-12v-single-ram.html) Case: Dark Sentinel (https://www.teknobiyotik.com/dark-sentinel-1xusb-3-0-2xusb-2-0-3x12cm-fanli-fan-kontrolculu-akrilik-yan-panel-mid-tower-siyah-oyuncu-kasasi-dkchsentinel.html) PSU: Cooler Master 500W 80+ (https://www.itopya.com/cooler-master-masterwatt-lite-500w-80-plus-aktif-pfc-120mm-fanli-psu/) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (https://www.itopya.com/seagate-35-1tb-barracuda-sata-30-7200rpm-64mb-210mb-s-okuma-harddisk/) OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Now I put some links next to the components for an idea. I kinda want to make it a Red and Black Combination which would look nice and fit well Now have some Questions 1) I would want some tips maybe when buying a used card from somebody. Like what should I be careful with when buying or maybe look if it works properly or so. 2) Can I stream with the 950? 3) Do you guys think I should buy a used 144hz monitor, really on a thight budget. Used goes for around 190$. Thinking for a BenQ one or perhaps Asus. 4) Now I pretty certain that I can Install all the componets onto the motherboard. Doe I dont fell confident about connecting the psu cables and cable management. Do you guys have tips for that? or maybe some video out on youtube for installing psu and that. Have looked alot, havent found any helpful ones. 5) Do you guys prefer wireless adapter for gaming? Or should I stick with an ethernet Cable? 6) And last whats your thoughts on this build? Thankyou for Reading

I have been trying to perfect a $500 budget gaming build for weeks now - I've come to realize it's impossible right now. Whether it's inflated RAM or GPU prices, don't get me wrong, sure you can do it. But with what? An RX580 series GPU? What's the point? The whole goal is to allow entry level pc gamers to get away from console.. right now the brand new Xbox One X is $499. While it's unlikely to top the new Xbox with a $500 budget pc build, you can at least build one that is better than a PS4. The issue I'm finding is that once you factor in Windows, peripherals, and monitors - that automatically adds at least $300 to any build. So in that regard, it's safe to say it's impossible. However.. I went ahead and said okay, let's build one for $600 - $650 MAX - just the pc. I offer you all to participate. I am interested in seeing what you come up with!!!!! Maybe you do Radeon builds? Cheaper parts but overclocked? Please share!! Here's what I went with.... PCPartPicker part list CPU: Intel Core i3-8100 Coffee Lake 3.6 GHz LGA 1151 Boxed Processor ($109.99) Cooler: Cooler Master Blizzard T400i - CPU Cooler with XtraFlo 120 "Fire Red" LED PWM Fan ($28.99) MoBo: ASUS ROG STRIX B360-G GAMING LGA 1151 mATX Intel Motherboard ($79.99) RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB 2 x 4GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit ($79.99) HDD: WD Blue Mainstream 1TB 7200RPM SATA III 6Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive ($39.99) GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti CERBERUS-GTX1050TI-O4G 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card ($199.99) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 Micro Center Version ATX Mid-Tower Computer Case - Black w/ Red ($37.99) PSU: EVGA 450 BT 100-BT-0450-K1 450W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Non-Modular Active PFC Power Supply ($24.99) Total: $601.92 Prices DO NOT include taxes and shipping but when you factor that in then it hits the budget at right under $650.00! So my build is a combination of parts only from Microcenter and Newegg. Microcenter discounts $30 to $50 when buying a cpu and mobo together - this mobo price is including that discount. They currently have the i3-8100 for $109.99 while everywhere else is at least $119.99. As for GPU, any 4gb GTX 1050 or 1050ti is going to run you at least $200 right now. I think it's worth it over $149 - $169 for an RX580, at least you can go after 60 fps. Of course you want it to look cool.. I was able to go with a black and red theme - the case was $37.99 after a discount and rebate! PLUS it comes with THREE fans! So that saved a few dollars. I may just build this little bad boy to see how it performs!!! What do you guys think???? LET'S SEE WHAT YOU GOT!!!!!

I'm planning to buy a GTX 1070, and I'm now currently using an i3-8100 3.6GHz, 16GB DDR4 ram and a 1060 6GB from Asus. I'm just wondering is the i3-8100 would bottleneck the 1070? I bet it does, and if it does, then by how much compares to let say an i7-8700k

Hi, so like I'm a little undecided on what mobo to get for my 8100. Not sure what the price range for the H boards would be; but some places said under $150. There's a few boards on sale MSI Z370 GAMING PLUS and GIGABYTE Z370P D3 (which has some poor reviews); which are like under 150 too. I'm not too picky about I/Os and I'd prefer something entry level cheap: so should I wait for H series to come out or would getting a z board that's on sale be better. Another thing would be, on h-Boards or any other boards for future reference, I can down-clock Ram like if I happen to get 3000, I could clock it down to the 2400, so long as the DIMM allows me to right?

Hi guys I've been a both PC and console gamer for a while now, but I've been hesitant about really getting into pc (mainly bc of the cost). I've finally built up the balls, done some reaserch and saved up the money to do so, but I need your help with the details Here's what's in plan so far GPU: EVGA GTX 1060 6GB/3 GB CPU: Intel i3-8100/Intel i5-8400 MOTHERBOARD: MSI B360 PRO-VH HDD: WD BLUE 1TB SSD: WD Green 120GB M2 PSU: EVGA 600W RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black DDR4 2400Mhz (1 8gb stick and a 4gb stick) CASE: Cougar MG110-W MONITOR: MSI Optic G24C (23,6", 144Hz, 1ms)/Samsung LS22F355FHLXZS (60Hz, 22", 5ms) You can already tell my main doubts I can technically afford this build as it is, but I'd like to have more money left to get a nice keyboard, headphones and games The main question is: are 144Hz worth it? And in that case, is the difference between the processors worth getting a crappy keyboard and headphones? Is the push for the 6GB necessary? If it isn't worth it, then I might as well go for the i3 and hell, maybe even a 1050ti, since I won't really be able to see the difference in framerates if I'm staring at a 60Hz monitor However, in a couple of years this probably will not get me 60 fps in AAA games on anything above medium quality, how much better off will I be with the i5-8400? If I go cheap on all of the options above I'll save US$370 (470 if I go for the 1050ti), and it would work great at least for this year (PUBG, Fortnite, CSGO and BF1), but I don't know if the money saved will be worth having to upgrade a year or 2 early As much as I can research, I don't have the experience you guys have; I'd love to hear some suggestions and, of course, feel free to recommend items that are not on my list

Hallo everybody, is it possible to underclock a i3 8100 i know intel has this thing with non-k models. The cpu is for a router/nas/plex server and doesn't need much power. I am going for the best efficiency I can. Thx for your help in advance : )
