I have an i5 7200U with intel hd 620. Im buying a new monitor. I can squeeze every drop of fps possible from games and get 60-ish. even if my performance goes up, i will improve the graphics quality and bring it down to 60-ish. im not interested in fps above it in games. Should I invest in a monitor with 75Hz if im not gonna use 75fps in games? Will it be worth it for general use of the pc or for watching videos or anything? Im gonna be running linux for max performance and will play Minecraft. If 75hz is not needed, ill get a 60Hz monitor itself.

Hi! So I recently purchased an LG 165hz monitor. The issue I’m having is that my monitor will be at 120hz, but then when I open Valorant, it will drop to 30hz. Before, I was able to run the game at 120hz. Any solutions to fix this? It’s worth noting that I turned off full screen optimization and run on a low-end laptop.

Hi! I got a RX 580 with only a DVI port. I wonder if it can go 144Hz with any converter (HDMI or DP) because my monitor doesn't have DVI port. Thanks!

Sometimes it works for a bit and then when I click something on navigation bar it resets to native and 60Hz. I tried reinstalling drivers for both my monitor and my GPU. My setup CPU : i5-7600K GPU : GTX 1050ti Display : Zowie XL2411p

I currently have this beauty but only problem is it is 60hz. I recently was able to get a 3060 and have a ryzen 7 5800x. Looking for a good curved monitor that’s still 30-32in and has good hz, 140 and up. White would also be a plus but very hard to find. Please help me complete my setup. Thank you

I am unable to change my monitor Hz and it shows weird information about my monitor(see photo). I have a asus 1080p 240hz monitor with a second 4k 60hz monitor and cant change both of them. The last time I checked it was normal. I'm using windows 11 pro insider preview. all my drivers and softwares are up to date. I have updated my bios a few hours before I noticed someting. What I did do was changing some settings of my ssd like scheduled optimization and some other things but idk if something likely to cause this. I did a benchmark(userbenchmark) before ssd settings etc(but after bios update) and everything seemd fine accept that my ssd score was a bit low so I checked some settings to change on internet to get the best expierence. but after that I restarted my pc to apply the settings I did to virtual memory on drive I did another benchmark and it showed 'Relative performance (0th percentile) - Disable monitor sync before benchmarking (60 fps cap detected)' and a terrible score for my gpu. I changed the settings back for virtual memory cause it didn't look that usefull and thought it maybe causing this issue, but after doing that still the same problem. in game my fps was like always but it could feel something was not right. even tho I had 250+ fps. I reinstalled my graphics driver wich also didn't help. I think it could be beqeuse of the settings I changed for my ssd, unstable windows version, or updating bios. Update: just did another benchmark and it seemd fine for the gpu now, only ssd score is really low of gigabyte(only 60.5% instead of 119% on bench before(photo) and my adata xpg shows 'Relative performance n/a - sequential bench incomplete'. My specs: - i7 9700f- 2060S - 2x8,3200mhz - msi z390 gaming edge wifi - 650 watt psu - gigabyte 256gb ssd m.2 - XPG m.2 512gb - 2tb HDD.

So lately I've been having this problem where I've noticed that my cursor hasn't been running as smooth as it should be, but only after the pc has been on for a while. Meaning that when I first boot my pc, my cursor is fine and everything is fine but as the day goes on, the motion of the cursor seems choppier or slower, as if I had a 60hz monitor (I don't). This only happens in the desktop though. My games seem to run fine at 144hz but whenever I pause the game or open chat and I can see the cursor, it goes back to being choppy or 60hz-like (even the game gets like that). Does anybody have any idea on what may be going on? I've also tried to go to testufo.com to see if everything was fine and running at 144hz but my browser wouldn't be able to sync and it wouldn't reach 144 fps. I also tried Web browser "VSYNC synchronization", display Hz, and input lag tester (vsynctester.com) but it also failed to sync. Lastly, everytime that starts to happen, I sometimes notice that my audio starts to get a little choppy as well, almost as if it was clipping or something. Can anyone help? My Specs are: 1700x GTX 1070 16gb 3200Mhz (2x8) b450m ds3h Asus vg248 (monitor)

So lately I've noticed that whenever I boot my computer everything is fine, but after some time, the cursor stops feeling "144hz-ish". Now, this is weird because in-game, nothing feels like that (except for the cursor). And that's in every game I play, they all feel like 144hz but the only thing that doesn't is the cursor. I've tried reconnecting my monitor, changing the refresh rate in both the windows options and in nvidia's control panel. For some additional info: I've also gone to testufo.com and it fails to vsync. same thing happens in Web browser "VSYNC synchronization", display Hz, and input lag tester (vsynctester.com)

Looking for a new gaming monitor. My current one is having a lot of issues so I plan to replace it. I use a second monitor on the side currently a Benq XL2411 which is 144hz, but was open to suggestions about maybe reaching higher hz whilst keeping 1ms. Pc Specs: -Ryzen 5 3600 -32gb Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz -650w Corsair PSU -RTX 2070 Super 8gb -Samsung evo 500gb and 1tb ssd Needs to really good quality for hardcore games like Call of Duty Cold War for example. The maximum I would pay is £350 with a possible push if needed.

Hey guys, in desperate need of help! I have been looking for 144hz 1080p monitor for months now for the upcoming PS5 to take advantage of the 120 FPS capabilities. I finally bought a monitor - Asus TUF Gaming VG259q - 144hz IPS display There are so many variables at play and it was driving me insane so i finally decided to buy one. This monitor has HDMI 1.4 ports only, which I know can run 120hz @ 1920x1080. The problem is I hear that some monitors are capped at 60hz @ 1920x1080 over HDMI via 1.4 port. I cant find anywhere if this is the case with this monitor. If it is I'll send it back and buy a different monitor before I open it, which is why I need help ASAP ahaha If the PS5 had DisplayPort as an option this wouldn't be a problem. If it doesnt support 120hz at 1080p does anyone have any recommendations on monitors? Thanks in advance!

Current Setup: CPU - AMD Ryzen 3 1300x GPU - ASUS Cerberus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Advanced Edition 4GB GDDR5 MOB - B350M Gaming Pro (Micro ATX) RAM - 1 x 8GB 2400Mhz (HyperX Predator) (2 slots available, only one being used) PSU - EVGA 500W Display Monitor - Samsung 23" 60Hz *(I am not Overclocking, only XMP is enabled) Hi, I was hoping to use this forum to gain some knowledge on where I can upgrade. Keep in mind I am on a budget so going extreme or high end is not really an option for me right now. Firstly I only play one game and that is Dota 2 (Max FPS 110/120). Quality is definitely a must, and decent FPS with the right monitor to match. So I am at the stage where I want to purchase a new monitor but is it worth it with my current setup? (I really want to use either a 27" or 32" curved or even 34" depending on price) I do not play any high end games but only Dota 2, however I have seen people play at 4k and the games looks beautiful. So I guess the question is, what can I do to play this game at a respectable FPS (higher than 60fps of course) and have this impeccable display and experience when playing the game I most enjoy? Do not get me wrong, this current setup is working for me and plays the game, I just feel that it is time for an upgrade specially with a new monitor, I want to go bigger. With that said I need to take into consideration all the different variables when it comes to gaming monitors such as: - Refresh Rates - Response Times - Resolution - Type of cables that will be used (HDMI / DP etc) - Brands List goes on. It has been mentioned that doing a CPU upgrade will benefit as well as using 2x 8GB RAM. (As AMD will benefit using dual RAM instead of one) Where do I start? Is it worth buying a new monitor or do I start within the computer? Quick Note: I recently played Dota 2 on a Samsung 27" 75Hz monitor and I immediately noticed the color and a slight smoothness and I was impressed. (hence the reason I want to upgrade my monitor) Would it be worth maybe just saving a bit and going for a 144Hz with my current setup? As I instantly noticed the jump from 60hz to 75Hz, (If that is the case I should really see and feel the jump from 75Hz to 144Hz) However I am not hitting 144FPS. Not 100% sure on what is the next step in moving forward here. Thank you.

I found an additional 240hz monitor lying around and thought I'd use it as a discord monitor (portrait mode) but when I activate portrait mode it caps itself to 60hz. is there a way to get around this or is it meant to only be 60hz in portrait mode? The monitor works in 240hz in both hdmi and dp so that's nice! I tried switching out cables, changing which output and also trying with display port but nothing appears to help it achieve higher than 60hz in portrait mode.

Hello all, Atm I have two 32'' monitors with a 75Hz refresh rate connected to a RTX 3070. Now I'm thinking of getting one 27" 180Hz and keep one 32'' (for now). I assume having two different Hz won't cause any problems, right? I know, it may look a bit stupid, but I only use one monitor to game with and the other is for web/music player/Discord/other stuff (while gaming). In the future, I may want to get a second 27'' (with a lower Hz) to replace the second 32'' because of the look. Question, is this a stupid idea and can the Hz difference cause problems with the RTX 3070? Greetings Jack!

So I'm looking for monitor with a refresh rate of at least 120hz and size of at least 24inches in size| A res above 1080p is not a requirement and normal form factor is preferred 16:9 or even 16:10 No ultra wide's My primary use will be gaming and other regular use I currently have an ips panel LG display and I really like it.I've seen friends with VA/TN panels and what not and the color on them is just bad tbh My budget is 17k Rs or for others about 200 usd response bellow 3ms i don't require any usb io or audio jacks (only use HDMI or dp) or any inbuilt speakers. I would really like to hear people's personal experience with said monitors and not just ppl blabbing on about specs Cuz yes I have done my research and I have shortlisted good Lg ultra gear/Samsung neo or G series/MSI Optix/Benq Mobiuz monitor.

Hello, my name is Jonathan and I overclocked my monitor from 60hz to 75hz, everything worked fine, no heat or pixel issues, until I turned off and on the monitor and I had a few seconds of no issues but then in an instance my monitor froze and it all became pixels, I tried turning off and on the monitor again, same thing, until I turned off and on like 10 times and then everything worked fine, thought it's the end of this issue but nope, until the next turn off and on, same thing happened again, so it started from overclocking my monitor, but I had this issue before when I got this monitor for like a month even though it was on it's normal refresh rate (60hz), so i'm wondering if there's a fix for it? or should I wait and see if it will be fixed like the problem I had when I bought this monitor at the beginning? or it's better to stop the overclocking right now? The Monitor I Am Using: Samsung S27F350

I just want to know I have a smart LG TV with 2 HDMI ports one for my laptop to connect and the second one is for my PS4. I'll need more ports for my TV which I'll need eventually for a gaming PC. So if I use a HDMI switch for my TV by doing this will it affect the quality of my gaming with any lag, resolution and Hz. Also can you recommend any good HDMI switch. Thank you

Hi there, I just received my new Asus Tuf vg27wq monitor... By default it was set to 60 hz and i tried to set it to the 165 hz it claims. It blackscreens for like 10 seconds then turns on again and it's back to 60 hz again. I've tried to install new nvidia drivers. It didn't help unfortunately. Any ideas?? I am using displayport dw!

Slowly trying to isolate and resolve a few issues after installing a new CPU Cooler & GPU. I have most of them resolved but one is still sticking around. I have normal FPS in Windows, but when I launch a game it runs at 1FPS. I've since updated my display and GPU drivers with no change. I've also check under display adapter properties and it's set to 64Hz (Used to use DVI but new GPU only has HDMI & DisplayPort), I am however on a 144hz panel, just limited by the HDMI cable and am obviously only expecting to see 60FPS in games because of this. I read a forum post where someone was experiencing the same problem and updating their BIOS solved it for them. If you guys think that's a good next step I can go ahead with that, although to my knowledge it's usually a last resort. My BIOS version is from mid 2015. The new GPU is a RX 5700XT, so I can see how they might not work well together haha. Thanks for any feedback/suggestions. Much appreciated. List of possibly related issues & solutions I've tried: Problems 1. GPU not displaying in HW monitors. 2. Windows Update failed 3. I disabled Discord launch on boot and the setting was reverted after restarting the PC. Also pinned tabs in my browser reappear after I unpin and close them > restart the system. Solutions 1. Removed GeForce Experience, Nvidia Drivers & other companion software 2. Installed AMD Drivers 3. Disabled SMART in BIOS to dodge Disc failure message on boot 3. Updated display drivers

Hi guys, I need some help! I've currently got my eyes on a few monitors, 2 in particular: -AOC Agon 35" Curved UltraWide HD 200Hz Gaming Monitor, Displayport HDMI AG352QCX (https://eu.aoc.com/en/gaming-monitors/ag352qcx) and the other is: -ASUS ROG Swift Curved PG348Q Gaming Monitor UltraWide 100Hz G-Sync QHD 3440x1440 (https://www.asus.com/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG348Q/) Basically my issue right now is the hz refresh rate, my pc has a display ports from the graphics card of course, that's cool, my gaming laptop (Acer Nitro 5) however has a Nvidia 1050 GPU but the only port it has for display is HDMI, Problem is that to my understanding these monitors support there 100hz+ (100hz & 200hz) via the displayport. The asus one supports 100hz via displayport but only 50hz via hdmi port, the aoc one I'm not fully sure but I'm assuming it's the same scenarior but this brings me to my problem/question. My question is that if I get a Displayport to HDMI adapter/cable (so HDMI in the laptop and DP in the Monitor) will I get the the specified 100hz/200hz on those monitors as I'm technically using the Displayport or does that just not work like that (seeing as I've still got HDMI on the PC end? I came up with this potential solution after seeing a LTT Video where he used these adapters/cables to get 8k on the 8ktv (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcUv-TzVWUc) Really hope to get some help and another view. Thank you guys! Much appreciated.
