After a reasonably long thread with various parts being changed out, as I did on my home workstation, I am starting a new thread to show the final itteration of this build. It has had 3 different motherboards in it, 2 different CPUs and various other changes so this is the final version of this build - the next work PC will be a scratch build, which hopefully won't be for some time! Like my home workstation, it is totally overkill but will hopefully facilitate some flexibility on the tasks its put to use on in the future. I'm trying to decide between getting a good gaming headset vs a quality studio grade one , I've read lots of reviews and this what it came down to : - pros for hyperx : pretty good built in mic , wireless, supports DTS and probably has better sound positioning , will be used without a AMP/DAC - Pros for Beyerdynamic : Detachable cabel , probably a better sounding headset in terms of sound quality (better bass , more neutral sounding ) , maybe a better cup material (velvet)? - they are both closed back which is probably what I need to Block the noisy laptop fans + noise coming from outside - the mic isn't a must have but is a really nice + , as I could use my laptop's built in mic What's really making me hesitant is that a lot of reviews talk about the DT 770 having a firmer grip on the head for a better seal , but that makes them get warmer even in a relatively short time ( most people say an hour ) lots of reviews say they are perfect for short bursty usage , while the hyperx ones are supposedly more comfortable for long gaming sessions There's also the ongoing problem with hyperx firmware ( check the pinned post in the subreddit ) that's bricking the headsets when they connect to pc and have the ngenuity software open

Hey, I've had a bunch of different headsets through the years but my current one is special, beyond anything I've ever had before. Possibly not in the most rational way, but for me it's both the best and the worst headset I've ever had. Just like many others I've went through my handful of Steelseries Siberia V2 over the years. Some because they simply broke, some because they've worn down (I may have abused a few and exercised my free throw a bit too enthusiastically at times). But that's not the headset I wanna talk about. I switched over to a Steelseries Sibera 800 back in 2016 and I loved having a wireless headset. It allowed me to move more freely in my apartment and just upped the game for me when it came to quality of life. The dual-battery system with the little hub on my desk made sure that I (almost) never ran out of battery which was a game-breaker. Unfortunately, as the years passed, I would find myself swapping batteries a bit more frequently. In fact, significantly more frequently. The batteries had lost a noticeable portion of their capacity which triggered the search for a replacement. To say the least, finding a replacement for this headset was not easy. I had grown accustomed to never running out of battery, never having to grab a charging cable. For the past 3 years I've had the comfort of (almost) never having to pause what I was doing at the PC because of my headset. While I initially enjoyed the dual-battery system, It had started bothering me. The hub would many times not recognise that a battery was inserted which would lead to me swapping battery just to find out that battery was at 0% charge. What started out as this great feature for comfort had degraded into the exact opposite. This is where HyperX steps into the picture. I finally found something that could be the replacement I was looking for. This headset blew my mind reading about it. I had never seen a PC headset with wireless charging. So I bought it and was beyond excited about this feature...and goddamn if it wasn't the best headset I had ever experienced. I paired it with an IKEA HEKTAR desktop lamp that had a wireless charging pad and it felt incredible. While the wireless charging pad only had 5W induction charging, it didn't really matter. The headset had a staggering 30hrs battery time which was 5-10 hours more than other competitor headsets could offer at the time. This was the best headset I had ever had and nothing I knew came nearly close. 5 Years later. The wireless charging is still king. It is the only headset with this level of comfort. However, the headset has not been pain-free. A couple pointers: - The sound is not great. The quality is acceptable and while I only listen to music/movies/series using my SONOS multi-speaker system it wouldn't hurt to have better sound. Other headsets I've tested have noticeable better range, clarity, etc. than what these can offer. - The sound is NOT great. The headset have had an issue with crackling noises for at least 1-2 years, and it's only gotten worse. I've tried everything to fix this and there seems to be no way around it unfortunately. - The microphone is sub-par. The quality has degraded over the years to the point where I'm cutting to where half of what I'm saying sometimes is not being picked up. The microphone position is extremely sensitive, I have to make adjustments very frequently to make sure it's set in front of my mouth. - The physical comfort was great (emphasis on was). This is nothing new. Leather wears down and loses its cushioning effect eventually. The downside is that the top headrest leather piece can not be replaced and at this point I'm getting worried I'll end up like Tyler1. It's not great. - The software is horrid (well maybe). It's not necessarily about the software, it's about the connection to the software. The headset constantly loses connection with the software which prevents me from making any changes to f.e. keybinds for the side buttons. To be honest the software UI is quite ok, it's very simple and straightforward. - The game/chat volume toggle does NOT exist. This headset desperately needs a toggle to control both chat and game volume channels. I have to constantly adjust volume of browser/applications/discord/games which is not great. - They're kind of bulky and I wish they were slimmer but I digress. Despite all these issues, this is still the best headset I've ever had. Having wireless charging is everything and I feel that it brings incredible value to this headset. I feel it's time for a replacement but the problem is that there isn't one. HyperX has since discontinued this model and there is no way for me to purchase a brand new one (I would if I could). Why has no other peripheral company picked up on this? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can not manage to find a single headset with QI-charging. There needs to be more gaming headsets with wireless charging and it saddens me that there are no other options on the market. Do I sacrifice the one feature that I love the most to improve on the other aspects of a headset? Or do I live through the cons until this headset eventually dies on me? After all, it is the best (and the worst) headset I've ever had.

Hi, to whoever is being afflicted by this (as myself), a dude found the solution. Show some love to: CREDITS TO THIS GUY YT VIDEO (its in spanish tho) Disclaimer: Do at your own risk, as this is flashing your device it could brick it completely. (I really doubt it but I wont take any responsability lol) Step 1: Download HyperX_eeprom.zip Step 2: Go to device manager Look under audio devices "Microphone (USB Advanced Audio Device)" Step 3: Right click said device --> Properties --> Details --> Select in "Property" dropdown "Primary" option. Get VID and PID. Probably are the same as image below (0d8c and 016c respectively, but would check yours anyway just in case) Step 4: Uncompress HyperX_eeprom.zip Open HyperX_config.exe Fill the data (and if you get an error of not found, connect it to USB 2.0, I had that error and that solved it) Step 5: Once you hit "Connect" and it does connect properly, just in case, select EEPROM -> FILE to backup your current state. Step 6: Once backup is done. Select File -> EEPROM and select whichever *.bin file corresponde to your device. (HyperX_QuadCast.bin for normal version - RED only light or HyperX_QuadCast_S_(RGB).bin for the S version, which is RGB) Once done, It will prompt a reconnect. Aaaand thats it, enjoy your device again.

Hi, my os -WINDOWS 10. I recently bought hyperx pulsefire core gaming mouse. Before that I was using logitech g302 wired mouse. With logitech G hub software , whenever i used to minimize games and do any general windows stuff like browsing, using other apps etc my mouse button preset would automatically change to default but whenever i swap to the game window the mouse buttons preset would automatically swap back to specific to that game and it worked even when i would run multiple games concurrently and whenever i bring up a game window(when other games running in background) my mouse button preset would change into for that specific game. But currently with hyperx ngenuity software , mouse buttons presets don't work like Logitech G hub anymore. Now if i run a game my mouse buttons preset do change for that specific game, but when i minimize the game my mouse preset doesn't automatically change into deafault one anymore and it stays like that even when i'm browsing or doing any other windows stuff. Even if i completely quit the game still my mouse preset would stay as it was for that specific game and wont automatically change back to default one. This is very frustrating as i need to do multitasking concurrently with gaming. How do i make my mouse presets act like it used to with logitech G hub but with my new hyperx pulsefire core mouse?

Hey, I currently have a pair of hyperx cloud 2's that have served me faithfully for the past few years and until the mic died and I had to buy a dedicated one, headset still works great. It's perfectly good for my desktop but a bit too bulky to carry around if I need to take them to work. For my phone and laptop I use my huawei freebuds pro and they are great for listening to music etc on a commute or at the gym but they just don't have the battery life to use them for a full work day. I've been looking at the sennheiser momentum 4 that I can get on sale right now for about 250€ or the Sony xm5 that are a bit out of budget for 350€ Are the senheisers a good é ought upgrade over the cloud II to justify spending the money? What other options should I look at? (preference for stuff available at pcdiga.com) My requirements would be audio quality superior to the cloud II and portability. I'm also big headed I had a pair of audio technica bt3? I think that broke due to my head being too wide so that is a consideration. Any help from audio nerds is welcomed and appreciated

I'm looking to get a Rode PodMic or a HyperX Quadcast X as a replacement of my current Razer Seiren Mini. I'm finding it pretty hard to find some good comparisons of the 2 mics online so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks in advance

So I just got my new Corsair RAM today and when I put it in my PC does not boot anymore. Specs: MB - Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 CPU - Ryzen 5 5600X GPU - NVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB RAM - 2x 8GB HyperX Predator DDR4 3200MHz NEW RAM - 2x 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB DDR4 3200MHz What I tried: Putting in the new RAM in the remaining slots Putting in only the new RAM Putting in only one stick of the new RAM Putting in the new RAM but in the wrong Dual Channel layout Resetting the CMOS battery and trying everything above again. And every time the PC starts running (fans spinning and RGB turning on) but there is no display output. I also tried installing Corsair iCUE as a last resort (as if that would change anything) but it didn't work. And btw that PC had no other changes in hardware since I got it. (And I am running Windows 10 if that is of any importance)

My alloy fps rgb has served me well but i spilled some water on it and now its acting weird, I am looking into buying an elite 2 but i know how hp ruined the headsets and i don't know if the same is true for the keyboards. Also would I notice an increase in input lag from using the silver switches for years and now changing to the red switches on the elite 2?

I know there have been these types of post before, but most of them have been pre-HP HyperX, now that its under HP, I wanna know are the Clouds 2 still better than the BS V2 X. Also the BS are way cheaper If i get them in the Razer Battle Bundle.

Is it possible for me to replace the earcups on a HyperX Alpha S (https://hyperx.com/products/hyperx-cloud-alpha-s?variant=41031691206813) with those of a HyperX cloud II (https://hyperx.com/products/hyperx-leatherette-ear-cushions-cloud?variant=42093754187933). I know its possible to do for a HyperX Cloud MIX because streamer Lough did it, but I don't know about the alphas.

Hi guys, I've looked everywhere for a solution to this for the past few days and can't find one. Please Help! Computer specs: Gigabyte Z370P D3. i7-8700k. GTX 1660 Super. 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz. 2x8GB HyperX Fury 3200mhz. I am trying to change the mhz of my ram from default 2133mhz to the profile of the sticks at 3200mhz. There is no XMP option in BIOS. I've been to all the seperate manufacturers websites and the motherboard, cpu, and ram all support XMP separately. Could it be a case of having two different types of memory sticks disabling the option somehow? I've flashed BIOS. I'm on to Gigabyte support but they are taking forever. What else can I do to change it? Is this a case of having to go in and do it manually in BIOS and not through XMP? If so, can someone recommend a good tutorial on how to do that? Thanks for any help or advice in advance! TTS

Hi ! I bought a kit of ram ddr4 Kingston Fury HyperX 3200Mhz CL16 (8*2) , and when I tried to set the Xmp profil in the Bios I've found out there wasn't not Xmp profil for this kit , previously I used to run 12Gb perfectly with Xmp profil besides them being from different brands (8+4) , so I assumed this new kit doesn't have an Xmp profil on it for that reason and because it's running at the 3200Mhz as it supposed to be , but the problem is that when I open CPU-Z it says that it's running at the slowest Cas Latency "22" ? *My motherboard is Biostar B660 Mx-e pro and it handles overclocking above 3800Mhz *My Cpu is an i5-12400F that it says at there website that it can run up to 3200MT/S for DDR4 * Note : I'm running the two sticks in A2 &B2 slots as recommended - So my question is why is it running at the right speed and not the right CL ? and is there a way to fix this without overclocking , since it's advertised to run at 3200Mhz CL16 with no overclocking mentioned ?

Looking to hopefully get some extra clarity on my decision, below are what I'm considering, budget is under $300AUD (200usd) Rode NT-USB+ Would hands down get this one only the lack of a mute button is putting me off, sometimes I need to quickly hit it and I ideally don't want to rely on software (rarely but sometimes have issues with my corsair virtuoso mic button not muting) Purchasing voicemod to mute map a mute button via icue software worse case Elgato Wave 3 Appears to be a decent mic, all physical controls where there needed as well as a mute botton. Review paint it in an average light, possible background noise pickup if not positioned right Hyperx Quadcast S RGB USB Seems to have good reviews, with all the buttons I need Adjustable polar patterns, is this handy to have? Looking at this over the standard due to USB C connection also, RGB is a bonus, hopefully I can have some form of control without the software or as I better sticking to the red? TIA

I've lately been having a problem where my hyperx headset cable is too short, and for that I've bought a 3.5 mm jack extension. Everything seemed fine at first, but when i was talking to my friends on discord, they told me about a static noise they've been hearing from my mic, and that they could hear their own voice through my mic. I spent a ton of time figuring out what might be causing this (reinstaling my realtek audio drivers, checking my various audio setting etc.). I've found that if I connect my headset to my laptop without any extension cable I still get the weird audio leak (even though I haven't notice that hapening before). I've tried buying a new 3.5 mm jack extension, still have the same issues as before. My HyperX Cloud 2 headset also comes with an 3.5 mm jack to usb extension dongle that has an inbuilt audio card. I've tried using that too but for whatever reason my mic sounds quieter and worse when using that. The audio leak issue and the buzzing noise seem to be gone though, but I don't know if I'm willing to accept the volume/quality downgrade. These issues I've been having are starting to get really frustrating and I have no idea what to do. I would really appreciate some advice. Thank you.

Hey, I have the following kit from HyperX https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX432C18FWK2_32.pdf, thing is this kit is no longer in production, when I got this kit 3 years ago I thought I'll add a second kit later on but because it's no longer in production I either have to get an entire 4x16GB kit or try to mix this one. I tried asking Kingston if their new kit https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX432C16FB4K2_32.pdf will be able to work with the old one since it seems all that's changed is the better timings they said: Other than the PnP thing the only difference is CL16 timings instead of CL18. Has anyone tried to mix PnP RAM with newer RAM? Should this even be an issue?

I am searching for new microphone for gaming and streaming. I come across at some options here. Hyperx Quadcast S = $160, it has pop filter and shock mount included. Or Elgato Wave 3 = $172,no pop filter and shock mount included and cost $36 and $49 respectively. A Software that is very good by reviewers said. That cost will be $97 apart from each other. These prices are converted from Malaysia. Which one should I get?

I have 2 sticks of 8gb 3200mhz HyperX Fury RGB RAM. Every time I turn the PC on the RAM is red (I've never set it to be like that). Sometimes, while the PC is turning on it's in default rainbow mode, but once it boots to windows it red. Once I turn the ASUS Armory Crate and go into Aura Effects it goes back to the color I've chosen (by itself, I don't have to change anything). It started happening about a month ago, before it was ok. SYSTEM: CPU: AMD 5600x MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING RAM: 16gb HyperX Fury 3200mhz PSU: Silentium VeroL3 700W Bronze OS: Win 10 GPU: Nvidia RTX3080ti FE
