So my headphones just broke, and It didn't last very long (just over a year), so I'm looking for a new 7.1 head set. I wanted to ask any of you who owned a hyper x cloud or cloud 2 for a while (2 years plus), how well has it lasted over time? I just want to make sure the next head set I buy will last and not brake in a year. If you had a 7.1 headset that is around the same price and lasted this long as well, I would be glad to know as well. Thanks

Okay so this problem has been bothering me for a long time ever since I've switched over from the Turtle Beach X12's, which have a great built in mic monitoring/sidetone feature (I'll just refer to it as sidetone from now on), but their overall quality and comfort is just nowhere near the Hyper X Clouds and they make my ears sore in no time. I've been using the Kingston Hyper X Clouds for I think more than 2 years now. Awesome headset. Great build quality, super comfy, and great sound quality (I don't think I'm an audiophile but I can barely tell a difference between them and my Audio-technica ATH-M50x's in terms of sound quality (let me know if you disagree on that, I'm curious as to what other people think)). What still frustrates me to this day is the fact that THEY DON'T HAVE SIDETONE (which, if you didn't know, is a feature that allows your voice which goes into the microphone to playback into your headset so you can hear yourself speaking as if not wearing a sound isolating headset). I've spent countless hours searching for solutions to give me sidetone with the Clouds. I've fiddled with Windows, read forums, researched devices, etc. etc with no success. So many of the solutions out there are either very expensive and/or very complicated. What I am looking for is a relatively cheap solution to give me LAG FREE sidetone ON MY PC AND PS4 in my headset (no, I do not want to dish out $200+ to get one that has sidetone, because quite frankly, in every other aspect I believe the Clouds are one of the best gaming headsets on the market and I want to use them). I just read another older forum on this matter (see link at the bottom of this post), and it seems that the best solutions for PC require a $70-$80 DAC (Behringer Xenyx 302USB (http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/302USB.aspx). TheSyba USB adapter seems to have good reviews on Amazon and apparently can deliver sidetone, but what I am wondering is if it will also be able to plug into my PS4 as well as my PC and allow me to plug in my Cloud headset and have proper sidetone. I heard that there are some loudness issues but I'm not sure how common that is. I also heard that the sidetone can be adjusted in the software; what I'm wondering is if the settings are stored in the device itself so that when I plug it into my PS4 it will still work and give me sidetone (I'm willing to sacrifice the convenience of plugging the headset right into the dualshock 4 controller). If anyone has any information on the Syba USB adapter, or any other solution <$50 that is properly reliable, fairly simple, and works well, PLEASE let me know (honestly this has been pissing me off for so long I am probably willing to spend a bit more for a proper solution, but that Behringer dac just seems too expensive and bulky and I'm not sure if it will work on PS4). Otherwise I will have to keep dreaming that the Cloud 3's will feature sidetone (Kingston, PLEASE PUT IN SIDETONE) (or that another manufacturer can produce as good of a headset for as good of a price and have sidetone built in) and use my old, painfully uncomfortable, static plagued TB X12's for whenever I'm playing/chatting with friends on Skype or PS4, which, btw, for on the PS4 i have to primitively use an extension cable and USB power adapter to my couch to plug in the USB connector of the X12's into, and then plug in the headphone and mic cables into the controller using the joiner cable that came with the Clouds (pretty ironic, huh?). Hello ? I've got the problem that every time I talk to somebody on Teamspeak/Discord/Ingamechat/etc. that the Persons on the other side can hear them self. I tried many things, like changing the configurations in the programs and in Windows, using different adapters (the headset needs an Y adapter to split the Audio/Mic signal) and using different ports on my Motherboard and my Case. Nothing seems to help. Even different volume settings doesn't help. The others can only her them self (eg. If I talk with 2 friends they can hear them self and the other one through my voice channel) but can't hear my sounds on the Computer so that they can't hear the sound from the game or musik. Only the Voicechat. My setup: i5-6500 GTX1060 6Gb Phoenix 16gb ddr4 msi h110m pro-d (Realtek ALC887 Audio Codec) 550w 80+ bronze My headset is the Hyper X Cloud (the first one) Edit: I forgot to say that sometimes my Mic is ruled down, so that nobody can hear me and I'm really quiet. This happens also without any change of options. Sometimes a restart is helping.

Hi guys, My dog destroyed my headset, hyperx cloud, whats the current gen hyperx headset? I see that there is hpyerx cloud II, cloud alpha, cloud pro, etc. I am trying to figure out which one is the current gen or most updated version of this headset since I loved how comfortable they were and the good sound quality and mic quality. Or whats the next brand of headset that is good for the price around $99 budget can probably be more but definitely not anything more than $150 Thanks

Okay here is my problem. I am searching for an "all in one" headset. I've had turtle beach X12s for like the last 5 years and they finally broke (after the warranty was up and I couldn't send them back for like the 7th time lol) I would love a headset that fits all of my needs. The systems I have are Xbox 360, Xbox one, and PC so I would like to have a headset that is fairly easily interchangeable between all 3 of these systems. I never used my old headset on PC but I would like to with this one as I want to get more into PC gaming and would also like to talk to my friends on skype (My PC doesn't have a mic an has very shitty speakers so I've been using a portable bluetooth). It is also very integral that this headset works on xbox 360 because that is the system I am playing the most right now probably 360 60% of the time PC 25% and XB1 15%. I would like an upgrade from my old headset. I'd say my budget is between $75-$130 CAD. As for headset preference's I'd prefer an open end headset but that doesn't matter that much, I'd like it to be light comfortable and durable,detachable mic seems cool and less cords the better but thats not deal breaking, I would like to be able to hear my own voice when speaking, obviously I want some quality sound maybe an option to turn on 7.1 and a nice microphone (well for a headset at least). [Also on a complete side note I have a relative living with me that loves to sing and shes good at it but doesn't think she is and it seems like shes never going to want to put money a side for some recording device/microphone so I was wondering do any gaming headsets have the microphone capability to record quality music? Not saying I'd for sure buy one because I'm sure that would put me out of my price range to attach an actual good mic but I'm just wondering if something that can do both things exists or if shed be better off recording with an iPhone or try and get her to save for one of those blue snowballs or something (idk I'm out of my depth)] Back to the main topic. After doing some research the Hyper X Cloud II's or the Cloud Revolver seem like a nice headset around my price range but they have my main issue of not being compatible with my xbox 360 which is probably a no go. So I guess my main question is does anyone have a way to either get one of these 2 headsets to work on the 360? Or If not do you have any headset suggestions that are similar in both quality and price but also have the means to work across my platforms (PC,360,XB1)? I was thinking of just buying a 3.5mm female to 2.5mm male converter with one of the Cloud headsets but after looking at other forms I have found that if you do that only the game audio will work and you wont be able to chat and we can't have that. Also does anyone know when the Cloud Revolver S is suppose to drop? Maybe that will fix my problem aha but I highly doubt I'll wait on it. I've been back on TV audio for a week and its a pain in the ass

I bought the hyper x cloud 2 and cannot control the volume via the usb dongle when not on the desktop. It's fairly annoying and making me consider returning these and getting the cloud 1's. Is there anyway to use the dongle for control when in other applications?

I just got a new headset, a Hyper X Cloud. It seems really great so far, and the value is outstanding. However, I'm using the Maximus VII Formula, which uses SupremeFX. I could not utilise the impedance options when plugged into the rear I/O audio ports. I could only access it from the front panel jacks. Why is this? Isn't front panel audio inferior to the quality of the jacks on the back? Why is it that the SupremeFX software only allows these options from the front??!!

Help for some reason the left side of my headphones are working, i am aware of one of the methods that involves removing stuff, but i don't want to go through the trouble, also there were days were both sides were working, is there a way i can fix this without opening the inside. Thanks

So I just got a hyper x cloud gaming headset I love it, but the only problem is that the mic doesn't work. it saysHyper X Cloud Mic( inline is what it says) isn't "plugged in" in sound device manager.

Noob question but would the original hyper x cloud work fine with linux mint or is there windows specific drivers required, (I sure as hell hope not.) Thanks B)

i recently won a pair of bose quietcomfort 25 at work and i really like them. however i cant seem to get them to work on skype/gaming. i currently have a msi gs70 laptop that i use for gaming and everyday use. the sound works great with the laptop but not the mic. i purchase a headset to pc adapter audio/mic i still cant seem to get it to work. any recommendation or is it just not compatible with my laptop...? thank you in advance. ps any thoughts on the hyperx cloud pro?

I was going to buy the Hyper X cloud at Amazon for only about 70 bucks directly from them. But unfortunately, amazon seems to have stopped directly selling them and now I can only buy them starting at 149 for the black and 111 for the white. I was going to buy the due to the quality that Linus expressed in his review, the amount of things that come with, the comfort and the price. At this price is it still worth it? Do you guys recommend it? And finally any good substitutes that are max at 150 dollars?

Sennheiser HD (419 or 429) with an attached Mod Mic 4.0 or just get a Hyper X Cloud for playing CSGO?

So I've been eyeing the HyperX Cloud as a replacement for my old Steelseries Siberias and my broken ATH M50s. I need a headset and a set of street phones, and these are the best compromise I know of since the mic is removable. The one feature I demand from gaming headsets is no-delay in-ear playback from the mic so I can hear my own voice clearly (otherwise I can't hear myself over my friends yelling at each other lol). The Siberias had this but it recently stopped working. Does anyone know if the headset has this feature? That will be the deciding factor for me.
