I just ordered an FX-8370 and Hyper 212 Black Edition for my first PC build, but I’ve heard a lot about the FX-8370 running very hot, and I just wanted to make sure my Hyper 212 will be enough to cool it? If not I can resort to ordering a Rosewill PB240. Keep in mind this is my first ever PC build so I’m not completely acquainted with this hardware yet. (FYI: I have 3 120mm case fans as well)

Hey, sorry for the dumb questions, im really new on all this. Ive done a previous post where i tried to see which cooler was the best, i chose hyper 212 be rgb, the thing is now that i got some questions. 1. My motherboard (asus tuf b365m gaming plus) has one rgb header (4pin) and a argb header (3pin)m the 4 pin is already in use, can i use the 4pin connector from the rgb fan on the 3pin argb header? 2. The molex connector, first time dealing with them, i havent opened my pc at all so i dont know whats behind it, the cooler comes with a molex connector, will i find an easy molex connector from my power suply when i open the PC? Im asking this before i open because i want to be really cautious, and im really new at this. 3. If i get spaces problems when installing the cooler can i remove de ram, mount the fan, and then just put the ram back? ofcourse everything shat down. Thanks for all the help on previous post and the future help here! really appreciate it, sorry for (if) bad english. PD: I havent done anything yet, i want to have all sorted before getting inside the pc.

So I downloaded speccy to see my temps and so I noticed that my CPU was running at 90 degrees plus. I opened GPU-Z, Quick CPU and my motherboard BIOS and they all displayed my CPU running from 30 to 40 degrees. Is speccy displaying my CPU temps correctly or is it just a bug?

So I want to upgrade my Ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler with a cheap air cooler. I am a little curious about overclocking, I saw that the Ryzen 3000 series does not have a good improvement in performance with overclocking but I am still a little interested in testing. I live in Africa (Morocco), so the price and the possibility are really limited I found these two CPU coolers Hyper 212 Black edition (for 50 $) and the Scythe Mugen 5 rev.b (for 65 $) Sooooo what should i choose

I built a PC for the first time last summer and installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Air Cooler on a i9-9900 K. The 9900 K was really more than I needed and since I rarely put a heavy strain on it, the Hyper 212 did fine. But when I started folding a couple of months ago, I rather quickly had CPU temps in the high 80's to low 90's. I was able to bring the temps down to the mid to high 60's by limiting the folding to 4 threads. I've been thinking about replacing the Hyper 212 with a liquid AIO. But I've heard and read a number of reviews/guides recently that say that air coolers can provide the same level of cooling as water coolers. I'd prefer not to spend much more than $100 on whatever I decide to go with, though I may go higher if it will make a significant difference. I've been considering the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 (if I can find it in stock). I've also been looking at the Cooler Master MasterLiquid LC240E. Amazon is offering that for only $75. If I want to take off the thread limit for folding@home, but still keep CPU temps in the 70's or lower, how much would I need to spend on a cooler? Which one would you recommend? Alternatively, what is the best cooler (Air or AIO) I could get for about $100?

Something seems wrong with my CPU or my heatsink. I currently have my i7 4790k cooled by a Hyper 212 EVO at 4.4Ghz and the maximum tempearutes are between 70~75C° on FULL load (20~ min rendering in Blender CPU) , they seem fine to me, the problem is when i try to increase the Ghz by 0.1 the maximum temperatures go up by 25~30C° while rendering the same frame in just under a minute, reaching 100C° and then throttling. Can someone help me to know better what is going on. •I used the thermal paste that came with the heatsink •i used the line method •I cleaned the heatsink and made sure it was well attached

Hello, I'm looking for a good fan to replace my old Hyper 212 stock fan, sadly it broke on Saturday. I just spent a ton of money on this PC, and the Evo was a bit old so the fan died basically just as I turned on the new PC for the first time. Yes, that's my luck in a nutshell. Anyways, I need a affordable but good fan for the Evo, I've been looking around but to tell you the truth, I can't really tell the difference. I know I need a 120mm fan that's static pressure, but beyond that I'm not entirely sure. I'm really wanting one of those Industrial Noctua fans, they look amazing, but as I've already said I just spent a shit ton of money on the new PC and I'm currently broke. Any ideas? Edit: I'd also prefer it to be reasonably quiet, just as quiet as the stock fan if not more. Also, I'll be posting some fans I've been looking at to ask if they're any good. Thanks

I bought the 212 EVO LED, and it looks to be the new version, with slits in the middle section for an AM4 latch mechanism. It also says AM4 out of box on the box it came in. However, when trying to add it onto my AM4 motherboard's socket, the lever is impossible to get to both sides without some serious strain. So much, that it felt it was bending, so I stopped. Has anyone gotten the Am4 bracket on? I have tried a second Asus b350-f strix motherboard with no success. I have a ticket open but coolermaster is being very slow to reply...............I am wasting so much time waiting on getting this cooler to work so I can use my pc.

I was thinking of buying the AM4 bracket and keep using the Hyper 212 EVO that I bought in 2013. I've been using it with the FX-6300 for nearly every day since then without overclocking. 25C-30C right now, 18C-25C during the winter. I don't mind buying a similar air cooler and I plan on overclocking the Ryzen 5 1600, but could I just keep using it?Also, is it wise to use the thermal paste that came with the air cooler? I haven't opened it since 2013. Is there a way to test if it's still ok?

I need a new cooler for my CPU. Current in my country there are 2 coolers that i like and they are same price. (except Hyper 212 X, it doesnt have free shipping XD) Those are: Thermaltake Riing Silent 12 Pro Blue : http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002930 Or : Cooler Master Hyper 212X (EU ver.) : http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212x-eu/ Both are good coolers, and Riing will fit better with the theme of my PC with its blue LED fan. I couldn`t find any videos/websites that compare these two coolers so i am asking here. Thank you all for reading

Looking for recommendations for an air cooler that will fit in my InWin 101 case. The case allows for 160mm of space but after measuring it looks like it will be just a tad bit to tall for a hyper 212. The Hyper 212 is 6.3 inches and case space says 6.2 but I have seen the H212 installed on the case before but none with the glass panel closed. Mostly I see people using AIO's which Im a bit uncomfortable going with at the current moment but all suggestions are welcomed.

I plan on upgrading from an i3 7100 to i7 7700k and I have one simple question. Will my hyper 212 evo provide adequate cooling to the 7700k? I don’t plan on overclocking.

Before I buy the parts for my PC, I want to figure out if all of the RGB on fans/etc will sync up. I'll likely be going with an Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition. I also would like RGB fans to sync up - two cheaper options I saw were upgrading to the i version of the NZXT H510 case, and getting a 3-pack of Deepcool CF120s. Here are the questions - Are the Deepcool fans better or worse than the included Aer ones? Would either sync the RGB up with the motherboard/CPU cooler? Is the NZXT Smart Device v2 worth it or even useful? Is there much of a difference between the CF120 and the slightly cheaper RF120? Lastly, how would I plug them all in and/or daisy chain them, and what software would I even use? Any advice is appreciated - thanks so much!

Hi everyone! I'm building my first pc and what seemed like a straightforward step (installing the cpu cooler), now seems impossible. I'm trying to install Cooler Master Hyper 212 (Black) on Asus TUF gaming X570. The cooler includes an AM4 bracket (B in image) and the necessary stand offs (C in image). The motherboard already comes with a backplate (A in image) but in order to add the plastic bracket that came with the cooler, the motherboard backplate must be removed, otherwise adding the plastic one under the mobo backplate won't work because the screws of the plastic bracket are too short. I don't want to remove the mobo backplate and the user manual advises against it as well. As a result, I can't use the standoffs (C in image) to mount the cooler. I think I need different standoffs, similar to D in the image (although those are for intel sockets so they are larger than the holes of the motherboard backplate. In this post, it's suggested to buy the upgrade kit from cooler master and just use the screws. Would this make sense in my case? Also, I can't seem to find this kit in stock anywhere. This seems way too complicated to be true so I think I'm missing the whole picture. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Hey, I have the hyper 212 evo, In a custom build gaming pc. But my pc is a blue led lit build and i dont want the red light on my hyper 212 led cooler. My question is if i can cut one of the fan wires to disable the led's, and if so will i still be able to control the fan speed? Also can i just disable the light with any software?

Hi, so I'm looking to paint the top of my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler in a white through spray-painting, and I have a few questions: 1. Is there a type of paint I should be looking for, or will any ol' DIY store spray-paint do for this task? 2. Should I be worried about paint melting off the cooler? - My GTX 1060 doesn't have a backplate 3. Am I going to suffer any major temperature increases due to the tips of the heatpipes being enveloped in white paint? 4. Is this project even worth my time and effort just for the visuals?

Hi, I'm seoz, and I've had first-hand experience with this cooler, and it's disgusting how underpowered this cooler is for the £25 I paid for it. I am telling you all right now, new builder or not, to not buy the Hyper 212, and here's why. First things first, before you're able to use the cooler, you have to install it. With the Hyper 212, things are particularly different. Here's the installation method: 1. Apply thermal compound 2. Install backplate onto back of motherboard 3. Place heatsink onto CPU IHS 4. ... attempt to try and work out how on Earth to get the X-bracket aligned with both the heatsink's base and the mounting screws from the backplate image courtesy of Tom's Hardware This problematic mounting method alone points a red flag towards particularly novice and first-time builders. I myself actually spent 45 minutes to install the whole tower cooler in my first build and even had to Discord videocall a friend to help me out. The mounting's difficulty is so immense that because of this alone, I advise against the Hyper 212, even if you can secure one of these for £25. Once you manage to install it with great difficulty, next comes the cooler's actual performance, yet another reason as to why nobody should ever consider the Hyper 212 as a CPU cooler. I've used this cooler and taken it through a lot of overclock runs on Cinebench, I was thoroughly surprised when I found it only ever reached 70°C on a 5GHz overclock on my 8600K. But that's not impressive, let me talk about why. Here's a quote from myself about how the Hyper 212 performed on a 4.4GHz run, and achieving 65°C. But here's another quote from my 4.6GHz run with an Arctic Freezer 33 eSports, and this time, achieving a little under 60°C. Here is proof of that 4.6GHZ run. You cannot deny the power of the Arctic Freezer 33 eSports. You can accept the weakness of the Hyper 212. Moving on. Now here's a quote from me that mentions how a 5GHz run on an 8600K with an Arctic Freezer 33 eSports only reaches 68°C max. Let me explain why this is impressive. Here is a graph of what I see is happening between the two coolers on a 5GHz Cinebench run on my 8600K; The Hyper 212 is immediately saturated with heat and to its credit, is able to retain a 68-70°C temperature reading, while the Arctic 33 eSports is able to hold its lower temperatures for longer before eventually meeting the Hyper 212 at just under 70°C. A cooler should be holding the colder temperatures longer and be fully capable of maintaining these low temperatures, and the Hyper 212 fails here by getting filled with heat the minute the Cinebench run begins. Okay, so this section is up to personal preference, but even if you are making a silver/chrome-themed build, please still do not consider this just for the looks because the performance is just downright embarrassing. This is the ugliest cooler I have ever seen on the market. I feel as if Cooler Master slapped some materials together and called it a day, this is a disgrace of an air cooler design. But again, this is up to personal preference. As a result of advising against the Hyper 212, I offer the alternative of the Arctic Freezer 33 eSports One*, mine set me back £32, a mere £7 more than the digusting junk mentioned above. I cover the bulk of why I recommend the Arctic 33 eSports One inside my review, so I direct you to that article to read up on it at your own leisure. You can also consult the CPU cooler performance tier list for alternatives to the Hyper 212, where Tier 6 options are the most budget-friendly. I just want to clarify that I have nothing against Cooler Master as a company, but this particular 2011 model Hyper 212 is a disgrace of the budget air cooler market and should never be considered when there are a nation of other options to go for, and for nearly identical if not cheaper prices for better performance. The sheer lack of quality and shame that's gone into this cooler is ultimately the biggest disappointment, it's a cooler that looks like it would sell for no more than £10 when you consider the fins are sheets of metal, there's four exposed copper heatpipes, a plastic 120mm glossy fan, and a metal brick at the bottom... Overall, Cooler Master, I'm disappointed in you. This product should not have the popularity it has in this era of computing. It cannot compete with any other budget cooler. It looks like hot garbage, it performs like hot garbage, and it is hot garbage. End of story.
