Pre - build PC with a Fractal Design Define 7 XL, 3 Fractal dynamic X2 GP - 14 case fans(2 front, 1 back)and ROG Strix B760 - F Gaming Wifi Motherboard. RTX 4080, Palit Gaming Pro and i7 - 13700K. I'm having a random resonating humming sound coming from my PC on constant intervals(it lasts for about 10 to 30 seconds, then goes away completely, then comes back again. The humming lasts longer when under load, but the time between the intervals stays about the same although there is a "sweet spot" on idle where it is the worst, screenshots below)even when idling, but it gets a lot worse when under load. It so loud I can hear it through the case and through my headset and it's starting to piss me off. It suddenly began a few days ago. This build is only about 4 months old. I suspected it was a dud case fan or it's because all of the case fans are spinning at same speeds(can this be a cause for resonating sound? I read it from the internet so you can tell me if it's true or false). Also the humming is affected if I remove the left side panel from my case, it makes it more quiet(the panel is resonating somehow(?), but keep in mind: it didn't do this in the beginning) After I spent the whole day testing and troubleshooting here is the result: - Unplugged everything from the Fractal Hub and plugged all the fans to Mobo: Didn't remove the humming, but now the chassis fans are visible in BIOS, they were N/A while connected to the fan hub - Tried to look if any wires or cables are touching fans or are resonating somewhere, didn't find any of that - Tried to put my heavy case to another location in my room(maybe the floor is crooked?)but it didn't work - Tried to see if the CPU fan and all the Chassis fans are loose from the chassis: They are all firmly secured - Downloaded Fan Control software and went through every fan separately(Chassis, CPU, GPU)starting from 30% speed all to way to maximum with 10% segments: No humming sound. - Put every Chassis fan to max speed and increasing CPU fan speed from 30% to max with 10% segments: No humming sound - Started a game to put some load to the PC and then the humming started again after couple minutes, I went to check the Fan Control speeds and took a screenshot. The low humming sound is present during these 2 scenarios(give or take a few RPM): https://imgur.com/jIzIgnD and https://imgur.com/RERJtHf It's worse on the second picture settings and comes in waves like usual. I honestly don't know what causes this. It's not just your typical fan spinning sound, for an analogy: it's like a car approaching from a distance and gets more and more louder and then the car passes by and goes more silent when it gains more distance from you and it comes with an almost fixed interval. It's so loud on the apex of the hum that it overpowers every other fan spinning sound coming from the case. Maybe it has something to do with the CPU fan and the back chassis fan spinning at same speeds for a moment(?). Thanks for any assistance!

So I just bought a Corsair H100 Pro Capellix AIO cooler... as far as temps go it’s fantastic... never above 40C under heavy loads on my 2700x (I know it’s old)... only problem is it makes a constant humming noise. I made sure to mount the pump at the lowest part of the loop, and even did some case gymnastics to make sure there was no air trapped in there. I tried to get the rpm on the pump lower to try and lessen the noise but the lowest speed is stil 2200rpm which is nuts. I’m fairly certain the noise is coming from a sympathetic vibration caused by the AM4 mount.. I ran the pump unmounted for a few seconds and it was basically silent. I’ve tried putting in some small rubber washers on the retention hook screws to lessen the vibration as well as using a thermal pad as opposed to paste for a little bit of vibration deadening as well... and it has has helped a LITTLE... my question is has anyone else experienced this problem? Should I rma it? Should I return it to Best Buy and get another H100i Rgb Platinum (non Capellix)? I used to have one but it was having problems disconnecting from usb (as that’s what Corsair used to power it) and I tried everything I could think of to trouble shoot it... to no avail so that’s why I got the new one (and the commander core wiring is SO much better than the Pro) but the hum is kinda driving me nuts as one of the reasons for water cooling besides temps is less noise... I wanted to stay in the Corsair family.. because although it’s far from perfect... iCue is the best combined RGB cooling/fan profile app app out there... and as we all know more RGB means more faster games right? also please forgive my use of “...” instead of proper punctuation... I just write in a stream of consciousness and whenever I finish a thought I always just add an ellipses (...)... sorry ill add a video of the noise it’s making when I get home later

Recently, as of 11/6 my computer started up with a brand-new whine/hissing/static noise from the Graphics card. There has been no recent changes of software handling GPU or the settings of the clocks on it. There has also been no increase in usage or stress of games or graphic changes. Normally, there is a hardware/software change when it comes to coil whine or it being a brand new card. The point I am trying to reach is that if this is truly coil-whine since it has started for seemingly no apparent reason and has no solutions regardless of lowering the clock speed or power targets. The GPU is underclocked from stock to 1560mhz, lower voltage targets, -10% power limit on MSI Afterburner, and stock memory speed. Is there anything I can do to help my cause as changing the speeds even lower has no effect on the noise? The GPU is a XFX RX 590 8gb Fatboy paired with a 2600X Ryzen on Windows 11 with a 750W EVGA GOLD PSU. The card usually never increases over 60 Celsius. I do have a Mp4 Audio clip on streamable of what I hear, which does not do it justice since I am able to hear the whine through a headset playing music. https://streamable.com/m9o3ye The static noise at the end is not a audio artifact, that is how the noise is. *edit*: I see a post regarding a user with a 480 that OC'd their CPU which caused it, I haven't edited CPU clock speeds and inspecting the capacitors showed them still tightly secured.

So I turned on my desktop today and my monitor started humming quietly so I brushed it off as the fans starting, but the humming only got louder, and louder. Right now its so loud that it hurts my ears. My monitor is a Samsung Sync master 192N

I've been hearing a buzzing/humming sound coming from my PC for the past few months, and the case vibrates slightly while it's happening. I recorded a brief video on my phone, any idea what it might be? https://drive.google.com/open?id=17krPddjBY8MhbKPOaG-MduP6Hh8q5QJv

Hey all, I've had some used harman kardon soundsticks (II, I believe) for a while now. Today, they've started humming/buzzing. The soundsticks are mains powered (16V) and connect to the sound source (i.e. a computer) via USB. I've determined the issue to be the USB cable, I think. Unplugging both USB and power, then only plugging in power makes the hum go away. Re-plugging USB makes it start again. Unplugging USB but leaving them powered when humming does NOT stop the humming. It's a low, 60ish Herz sound. My best guess is that the cable broke near the USB connector on the back of the PC and power is leaking into data or something? Idk. The problem is present on both my main desktop as well as my laptop. The noise only comes from the bass speaker, not the sattelite tweeters/woofers. Unfortunately, the USB cable is not replaceable by design. Of course, I could just cut it off and solder a new cable to it (and pray that I can insulate them...) but I'm not very good at soldering. Better than not having speakers though. Though before I go about cutting non-replaceable cables I wanna be sure that that's the right thing - and also where to cut the cord.

So I just finished my first PC build yesterday and I loaded up into Rainbow Six Siege. The second I get into a round (not on menu) my computer starts making a buzzing sound almost like the sound of a disk being read. (The game was downloaded onto my SSD btw so its not the HDD.) I can even hear the sound coming from my headset. It happens the second I tab into the game, and goes away right as I tab out. Anyone got answers?

I have this humming that comes while using YouTube which really bothers me, any recommendations? I updated the drivers and windows. noticed that the buzzing doesn't stop even when plugged in with AUX, the Bluetooth headset is turned on while plugged in tho

Hello everyone, here is my setup with all the fans and directions: https://imgur.com/a/fZm7CCASE fans: 2x Noctua NF-A14 PWMCPU fan: Noctua NH-D15PSU: SeaSonic - PRIME Platinum 750WCASE: Fractal Design Define R5I've still got one more Noctua NF-A14 PWM.. but I don't know where to place it. Can you please help me?I have already good temps.. but my main problem is humming noice from the rear top case where the case fan is. I disconnect the fan - no humming noice. So I ordered the same one again.. changed it .. and humming noise is back. I have no idea how to fix that (it sounds like a turbulence sound). It also disappears when I take off the side panel of the case.So my idea is turn over the PSU to have fan downwards + add one more noctua case fun. But maybe you can help me where.Thank you for every tip and answer!

Hi dear fellow reader, I'd like to know what's causing the humming noise in my case. It makes a really low humming noise, but not anything like a faulthy PSU. Whenever I put my feet against the sidepanel, it stops humming. Any explanation for this? Thanks in advance! Scrappy

On my desk here I have 2 HP ZR24w here that hum a bit when the brightness is lower since a few weeks. Because the hum is fairly annoying and I do not have warranty on them anymore I currently think about opening them and try to fix the humming component with a bit of silicone glue. Has anyone ever done this on some monitor and could give me some advice? I know about the risks and electricity and stuff since electronics is one of my hobbies (yes, the stuff with components on PCBs), but have not much experience in fixing humming noise. Some sites in the internet suggest it will most likely be the backlight, either the light itself or the inverter for it (maybe a choke/coil on it that is not properly fixed in place).

Hi guys! I've been subbed to Linus for a long long time and now i have registered to this community after all this time. I have just built a new rig and after couple of days my Seidon 120v v2 started acting weird... loudly... it produces this ticking/humming noise which is loud enough to annoy me enough unless i use headphones. Even if i turn on my fans to full speed it's still louder, it's hard to enjoy games or movies with it being so loud. I've done some research, but haven't found a solution to this, so i came here for help. I went to BIOS where i checked and the fan control panel said that the CPU FAN is running around 2320rpm while the Fan included is going around silent 780rpm. Changing the modes helps for a bit, but then starts again, but not as loud and the sound is a bit different. The cooling block is connected to the cpu_fan and the included fan is connected to cpu_opt. I made a little video about my problem, sorry for the bad quality since i dont have surgeon hands. https://youtu.be/nEx_2tP6HJw CM Storm Trooper Maximus Hero VII i7 4790k 4ghz GTX 660 8gb 1600mhz HyperX RAM Seidon 120v v2 SATA 500gb W7 64bit Ultimate - UDM

Whenever there is a sound playing i can hear a slight humming sound in the back. Is it something wrong with the drivers or is it a defective headset. Please help. I have them pluged via USB sound card that came along with it. Motherboard: ROG Maximus V Gene UPDATE: I have tried it on my phone and i don't hear the humming on it. There isn't much of a differnece in humming on pc while connected via USB sound card or 3.5 jack. I have also tried my older headset (5 years old Gamescom platronics) and didn't hear the humming As much (actually it cancelled the humming quite a lot) but it was still present. UPDATE 2: I have tested them in SWTOR and it seems that the humming sound is originating from the USB sound card since there is no humming while they were pluged in via 3.5 jack while playing. WTF is going on?!

Ok so all of the stuff i ordered earlier this week has arrived. behringer xenyx502, monoprice 600800, gemini hsr1000, and cables to hook it up to pc(rca audio to 3.5mm. I have my mic hooked up to the mic in port on the mixer, my heaphones plugged into the phones port via 3.5mm to 1/4 adapter. and i have rca audio to 3.5mm cables going from the cd/tape input and output to my pc. let's start with the mic Microphone: The live monitoring of my mic through my heaphones i hear a humming/buzzing noise, but when i record something, then listen with a different type of headphones, i don't hear it. so the buzzing only occurs within the mixer because i only hear it through the headphones plugged into the mixer. even if i use those same headphones on the pc, i hear no buzzing. heaphones: When the headphones are plugged into the mixer and i am getting my pc audio through the mixer, it is really REALLY quiet, and maybe muddy but its to qeuit to hear. but when i plug the headphones directly into the pc, its fine. What do i dooooo.

Alright... So for the past 3 months i have been having a very odd Humming/Buzzing sound, And i'm tired of it ( this post will have a pinch of anger so please bare with me ) I have tried EVERYTHING, External USB Hub, Putting Desktop on the Groudn/Carpet, Longer Cord, Different USB port ( I tried them ALL ) The only exceptions is grounding my Case, Which i have NO clue how i would go about that, And getting a new mic which i have no plans for. Yes the mic has NO issue on the two other computers i have tested it on, So it has something to do with my Setup. Below is a few audio samples of what is going on. Example 1 is at 100% Mic volume ( No Gain ) Example 2 is at 75% Mic Volume ( No Gain ) Example 3 is at 50% Mic Volume ( No Gain ) Please, I am begging the community to help me fix this problem, i am literally desperate at this point. Edit: I use a Mic stand. Example 1.wav Example 2.wav Example 3.wav

I recently bought a new 750D since my old Antek 902 got beaten up really bad during a moving, and now I'm confronted with a mix of a constant low humming sound combined with a pulsating higher pitched humming sound resulting from my WD Caviar black and Samsung Spinpoint F3 apparently resonating in this case. When only plugging in one drive, the Samsung creates a low pulsating hum where the WD gives a constant low buzz ( both things which didn't happen in the 902 ). I've tried replacing either the WD black or the Samsung with a spare WD RED I had but in both cases the extreme resonance returns. I've tried repositioning them, putting the side panels looser or tighter ( the latter one making the noise worse ), but I can't seem to get rid of this resonance between the two drives. Are there any options which work with isolating the HDD's from the cages or even the cages from the case which don't involve putting them in special brackets in the 5.25" bay? Usually some small rubber washers between the bracket and the HDD are supposed to help but in my case the vibrations still reach the cages en resonance is present. Or is it possible that I happen to have two really bad vibrating drives ( the Samsung is about 4 years old, the WD black about 3 ) and only replacing both of them will stop the resonating, since I seem to be one of the only people having these kind of problems with the 750D. I recently bought 2 KRK Rokit 5 studio monitors and they work great! After about 3 days my left speakers started to produce a weird hissing noise that the other one didn't, the volume of the input signal has no effect on the volume of the hiss. Both speakers are connected using XLR. I have tried switching the cables around (In including on the output device.) I have even tried switching the position of the speakers. The hiss only occurs while the speaker is plugged in. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I still have the receipt, should I return it?

Hi, i have that problem, when microphone, when plugged into xonar phoebus, is making buzzing, or humming noises, which get really annoying when GPU is under load. It's well known problem, and it cannot be solved by new drivers, because i tried without any, and it was the same. What should i do? I really like this card. Should i return it to the shop ( return of money ), or should i return it using warranty? What do you think? Has anybody some kind of information, about how to solve that problem?
