Hello! I've been having issues with my Philips Hue bridge. I recently moved houses. I just unplugged the bridge and took it with me. To connect it in my new house I reset the bridge, removed it from my account, and did a factory wipe. However, now when I plug it into the router (Huawei EchoLife EG8245Q), only 2 out of the 3 indicators turn on, when all three should be on: 1. Power 2. Home Network, meaning the bridge is connected to the router. The one that is OFF completely: 3. The "Hue Portal" indicator, aka internet connectivity. The bridge isn't connected to the internet. I noticed uPnP was off when snooping around in my router so I turned that on, but that didn't solve anything. I think there's a setting somewhere blocking the bridge from connecting to the internet. The router and internet access are provided with my new flat as a package deal so I'm suspecting they're babying us and "just turned everything off for safety." I'm not a networking genius so I've no idea how to fix this, but I just want my bridge to work I have one forwarded some ports to get my PS4 to work, do I do that as well now? tl;dr: Bridge doesn't have internet access and I think it's because of my router. What do I do? The router I have is Huawei EchoLife EG8245Q. Thank you for the help! If more info needs to be provided, I'm happy to share.

Hi guys, I'm just noticing this as of today, I have a blue hue on my 49 inch TV screen and not sure where it's coming from. I've tried changing a bunch of settings, it shows when i'l pugged in via HDMI to my PC but also through apps directly loaded through the TV so i doubt it's a peripheral issue. I used a SLR camera to take pictures of the screen using different brightness so that it's easier to make out what is happening. It seems to be mostly on the right half of the screen. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on ? I hope I don't need a new TV...

Hey guys , i bought the nzxt hue+ a while ago and encountered a few problems. First of all my equipment: GTX 970 fx 8350 6 fans [fan grid(4 x 120, 2 x 140 (mm))] hue+ (4 led strips) a 1tb toshiba hdd sandisk 256 gb ssd freezer 7 cpu cooler (sry i forgot the brand name) 650W corsair Story: So the story is that i played fully normal like ever and suddenly my wifi usb adapter disconnects... i googled it and after that disabled the energysaving options... but the problem wasnt solved so i thought maybe its the hue+ and the power draw of it. So i disconnected the hue and its pretty much fixed now ( i think ). Question: 1. how much power does the hue+ draw 2. is 650W not enough 3. could it be something else Thanks for helping

Welcome to my first tutorial! First of all I do not mean to offend anyone at LTT, it's just a joke (every time Linus does DIY it makes me cringe as an engineer student though). That being said, this tutorial is intended to make it as easy as possible for anyone to build a set of LED lights with a similar feature set as the NZXT hue+. This means that every single LED on your strip can be individually controlled. This opens an immense amount of customization options, all within your grasp with the use of a simple app I coded. Oh and by the way the total materials cost is around $25 US. Before we start a few notes and the obligatory disclaimer: This post is meant to serve as a guide, and I am in no way shape or form responsible for any damage that you may cause to your hardware or yourself. That being said, use common sense and you will be fine. Lastly, I must inform you that the app is NOT color accurate due to the nature of LED lighting, and the patterns represented in the app are there to give you an idea of what they will look like in the LEDs: the two are not in sync. Here is what you will need: -Addressable LED strip for a pc case I recommend 1m 60 leds. Here is a link on ebay -Arduino nano as the brains of the operation. Link from ebay -Interal mini USB type B adapter. Ebay link -Sacrificial molex connector with 5v wires. -Small enclosure to protect the arduino -Some mounting mechanism, small magnets or double sided tape -16, 18 or 20 gauge wire if you want to have longer runs Tools and others: -Soldering iron and solder, nothing fancy is needed, but a flat head tip and rosin core solder makes it easier -Miscellaneous tools, scissors, hot glue, pliers, wire strippers, etc. -A drill to make holes in the enclosure -Heatshrink tubing, electrical tape works too -A working computer with the Arduino IDE and FastLED librarie installed -Optional: Multimeter to double check voltages and connections. -Optional: Third hand tool to hold everything in place while you solder -The folder containing all my code: https://github.com/Dany-Boy55/Addressable-WS2812-LED-controller With all of that covered let's get going with the software: Open the file “DIY_LEDSV1.5_Addressable.ino” and plug in your arduino to you pc. At the top of the code you should see a line that says: #define NUM_LEDS 60. Replace the number 60 with the number of leds in your strip. The next line: const String Device_Name = "Case Lights" sets the controller name, replace it if you want but keep it short. Go to Tools→ Board→ ard select your arduino version (nano and ATmega328 for the one I linked). Next go to Control Panel→ Hardware and Sound→ Devices and Printers→ (at the bottom) Unspecified → arduino or USB UART→ double click → hardware. There you should the USB serial port (COM#) where the # represents a number, remember it. Then, on the arduino software, Tools→Port→The port number found earlier. Finally upload the code with the → arrow symbol or Control+U. Some LED’s on the arduino should blink rapidly, when they stop you are done. Now for the hardware, fire up your soldering iron. Identify the white and red wires coming out of the strip and run some heatshrink down them. Grab your molex and extend the cables if needed. Solder red with red (5v) and black with white (GND). IMPORTANT: double check the voltage coming from the molex, otherwise you can fry the strip. Grab the connector that comes with the strip and the arduino. Solder the white wire to a GNP pad and the green (signal) wire to the pad labeled “2”. Drill holes in your enclosure for the USB cable and the connector. IMPORTANT: don not solder the red wire to the arduino! It is better to put some heatshrink or tape over it to prevent shorts. Fix the arduino inside the enclosure with glue and close the lid. Before you install your lights it’s a good idea to test them, so open up your case, power the LEDS from the PSU and plug the arduino into an internal USB port. In the files you got from my github there should be a folder named app, open the executable in there. Once in the app, click on “Scan for leds”. If nothing happens try it a second time after a few seconds. You should see your controller appear in the drop-down box, click "connect". From here on it should be pretty intuitive, select any pattern you like and you should see your LEDs come to life. Feel free to play around with the effects, colors speed etc. Now it’s finally time to install your LED strip and do your best to hide the mustard and ketchup cables that connect everything together. Just throw everything into the back or the base of your case and you should be fine. After you finished tidying up, play around with the app and find your favorite colors and patterns. Thank you for reading this tutorial, and even if you don’t intend to build this yourself, I encourage you to download the app and play around with the patterns and settings. If you have any ideas for new features that you would like to see added please let me know. Also if you find any bugs or problems. The next step is to see if I can find a way to use CPU and GPU temps and utilization for colors, as well as music response. I'm making progress and the feature will most likely be added during the Easter holidays. Anyway, should you have any questions I will gladly answer them the best I can. Dany out!

Hi guys, So I took my rig to my mates and to help persuade me buy a Hue+ we decide to take out his from his pc and put it in mine. Goes in smooth enough and looks great. Happy days. Until I turn my PC on, stays on for about 2-5 seconds then turns off. Now according to PCPartPicker I shouldn't be using more than 375 watts ish and my PSU is 650, so should be plenty. So wtf? The only thing I can think is, because I have a Corsair semi modular PSU I didn't have the extra cable on me for the Hue, we had to use the cable from his EVGA. Is this what caused the issue?? A bit scared to buy one now as if it never powers up I have either wasted my money or need a new PSU, further wasting my money. Cheers

So I want to buy a Philips Hue light strip but obviously, avoid that high price point. Is it possible to just go ahead and buy an extendable light strip and connect it to a 6pin to a 12v adapter and set it up that way?

Ok, so I just saw the new hue 2 ecosystem NZXT released at Gamescom... I am an avid customer of NZXT yet I struggle to understand the difference between the "upgraded version of the hue light-strips and AER RGB fans. As to the other accessories, they seem cool but the requirement of a new controller is unfortunate as they use the same connectors as the other accessories. The new controller has 2 extra slots and is made of anodized aluminum. From my chats with the support, the hue 2 is backward compatible with the hue+ light strips an AER RGB fans but the Hue 2 accessories fans and light strips cannot be in the same channel as the hue + accessories. A new feature with the light strips is individual control of LEDs which has been a feature I've been waiting for. After a lengthy conversation with one of their customer support representatives, I was able to confirm that the individual control extended back to the Hue + LEDs and was not just a hue 2 light strip feature. I've included the transcript of our chat below. Overall I had a great experience with the customer support team which gave me a more valid reason to get the new Hue 2 accesories. Hopefully they will be as good as their price would suggest them to be. (134 for everything except ambient lighting.) Chat started on 21 Aug 2018, 05:10 PM (GMT+0) (05:10:39) *** Ethan joined the chat *** (05:10:39) Ethan: Are the hue + RGB strips individually addressable with the new hue 2 controller or are the hue 2 strips the only ones with individually addressable LEDs. (05:11:01) *** Dominic joined the chat *** (05:12:24) Dominic: The HUE+ LED strips will work with the HUE2. The HUE2 strips will not work with the HUE+. (05:13:27) Ethan: My question is are the hue + led strips I individually addressable through software or is it only possible with hardware on the hue 2 strips (05:15:43) Dominic: Only with the HUE2 (05:16:31) Ethan: Do you mean hue 2 controller or led strips. (05:17:23) Dominic: The HUE2 strips are individually accessible only with the HUE2 controller. (05:18:09) Ethan: The hue+ strips are not individually accessible with a hue 2 controller? (05:21:56) Dominic: No, but they will still work with the HUE2 (05:22:06) Ethan: Ok... (05:23:18) Ethan: That Seems kinda silly since the hue + does effects that would require individual control and use the same 4 pin connector so why does it not work the same way? (05:30:52) Dominic: I was getting confused, sorry about that. I see now what you are saying. Like each individual LED that you can change. Let me double check and ask if you use the HUE+ LED strip with the HUE2 controller if you are still able to do that. (05:30:56) Dominic: Sorry for the mix-ups. (05:31:03) Dominic: Let me double check for you one minute. (05:31:04) Ethan: No pro let (05:31:19) Ethan: *problem (05:32:46) Dominic: Ok whew. (05:32:50) Dominic: So yes you will be able to (05:33:13) Dominic: Each individual LED will be addressable. (05:33:16) Ethan: Awesome, sorry to put you on the spot (05:34:18) Dominic: Haha, no worries. We are getting thrown a lot of questions on the new units, so it's a good thing. (05:35:15) Ethan: Great to hear you guys are managing it. I've been a long time customer and I just wanted to make sure that my 100$ worth of light strips weren't obsolete (05:36:10) Dominic: Yup understandbale! (05:36:15) Dominic: understandable* (05:36:32) Ethan: Alrighty thanks! (05:37:04) *** Ethan has rated the chat Good *** (05:37:31) *** Ethan has commented: Awesome job managing some tough and pointed questions *** (05:37:40) *** Ethan left the chat ***

I've gotten the Philips hue app and was able to connect no problem, but recently got a google home and wanted to connect it to my lights. This required me to make an account, which I did, and when it asks to connect to the bridge, nothing happens when I press the button. With the bridge, all 4 lights are on I am connected to the same networks I've done all updates This is what it gets stuck on: Any help will be appreciated

Hey guys , I do apologize if this is in the wrong place, but I'm just wondering if you think bias lighting would work with my setup . I am trying to achieve a look like the first picture, but as my t.v. is mounted In a corner I'm not sure how the lightswould look , and unfortunately I don't have LEDs to test it ?

Hi, I just opened by NZXT Hue+ and installed it into my case. I plugged everything in and downloaded + updated the CAM software. Afterwards, I noticed my second channel of LED strips would not light up, even though it was showing up in the CAM software. I first assumed I made a mistake and didn't line up the arrows correctly, however, lining up the channel one wire in the same arrow configuration successfully lights the LEDs up. Please help me solve this issue. Thanks, Joe

Hey, The Phanteks Enthoo Evolv is A Great case but one major downside is that you will not have room to fit a Hue+ if you plan to do so. Will the best option for this to Just simply place the Hue+ down on any available space in the case and hook up the cables as normal? Mabey with some M3 double sided sticky tape?

Hello, I recently purchased the HZXT Hue+, installed it in my PC, and then realized that one of the LEDs is always green. Is this normal? Thanks in advance!!

Edit: Whatsapp has returned after ~24 hours. A Brazillian Judge called Marcel Montavão has issued a mandate for suspending all communication for Whatsapp for the period of 72 hours, the service suspension started today (May 2nd) at 14:00 (GMT -3) and is still going at the current moment. The reason for the service suspension is the on going investigation of an interstate drug dealing gang. The Judge wants Whatsapp to give all information related to the investigation. He also got Diego Dzodan arrested for the same reason. Diego Dzodan is facebook's vice-president for Latin America. The episode happened on March 1st this year. Previously, Whatsapp was suspended for 48 hours, in February 2015, but it was overruled in the same day. In this case it was different judge, called Luiz de Moura Correia. With the idea of forcing the company to release information about child abuse and pedophiles that used Whatsapp for their crimes. If the internet providers don't respect the mandate, they will be subjected to a R$500.000,00 fine for each day that this happens. (That's around US$ 150.000,00) Whatsapp's position on the case is very clear, they say that they don't have the information, since after the messages are sent, they are deleted from the servers. 03/05: Whatsapp returns. The service suspension has been lifted today, after Ricardo Múcio Santana de Abreu Lima, another politician from Sergipe appealed for reconsideration on the order due to the disproportion of the punishment. The set of laws called "Marco Civil" in Brazil determines that whenever possible companies should cooperate to invetigations however they can. By this law specifically, the government is more leaned towards being right, BUT, the same set of laws also define the principle of proportion, where, any kind of punishment for companies, must be in proportion to the issue and effect as few uninvolved people as possible. Ricardo Múcio used that as one of arguments for stopping the blockage. And it seems to have worked! Say specialists about the suspension. The story isn't over, but at least people can chat about it using their beloved emojis again! Source: Época My personal opinion on the blocking Sources: Folha de São Paulo: http://www1.folha.uol.com.br/mercado/2016/05/1766869-justica-determina-bloqueio-do-whatsapp-em-todo-o-brasil-por-72-horas.shtml G1 Globo: http://g1.globo.com/tecnologia/noticia/2016/05/justica-do-sergipe-manda-operadoras-bloquearem-whatsapp.html

Is NZXT out of stock with the HUE+? I can't order one anywhere.
-
Hi, I'm purchasing the Corsair Grapite Series 760t artic white case. My question is will the new NZXT Hue+ RGB light strip controller (SSD sized) fit on the side SSD drive slot bay? I have one other SSD and one slot will be vacant so I heard he hue+ fits on any SSD slots. Will it be too thick (high) for the case plate to close? Or should I put it somewhere else. Anyone have this current combination?
-
Just received the NZXT Hue from overclockers.co.uk and powered it up, and I noticed that the blue led channel works fine, but the green and red LED's seem to share the same channel (can control them from either knob), with the green being brighter, I have tried both ends of the LED strip, same result. But rotating the LED connector the wrong way, only the red led's work, and can be controlled by either the red or green knobs. Has anyone else had this problem/ know how to fix it, bearing in mind I don't have an electronics workshop.

For those trying to buy the NZXT Hue+ but can't find them on stock. They are available every morning on NZXT's website, maybe around until 2~ish. Cool.

My Nzxt hue+ is not being detected by the Cam software, it all plugged in and working but when i go to download the drivers for it through the CAM software it gets stuck at 20% for a minute or 2 then it fill the bar to 100% but is hasnt worked. Ive tried restarting my computer, uninstalling CAM and using a different USB header for the HUE plus to connect to.

NZXT finally updated their HUE with the HUE+ (it now works with case without 5.25" bays) yet its 2x the price $60. Is it worth it? compared to other options on the market. https://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/163-hue-plus-case-accessory Awesomesauce's half and our review

NCIX: http://bit.ly/1cMEWau Amazon: http://geni.us/hR0 The HUE from NZXT isn't exactly new, but with the disappearance of 5 1/4" bays from most cases, I though it would be cool to see how easy it is to mod into a modern case.

I found a few light kits with a remote control, wich is really awesome. Although I couln't find any ones on Amazon with lots of reviews. I only found two different ones with about 4 reviews each. Any leads? These need to be RGB, nothing really over 50 bucks. These are going in an NZXT S340 black and red. EDIT: The reviews where mixed as well.
