AI Suite is horrible do not download it. It can't be uninstalled automatically. The cleaner program didn't work for me. I spent an entire day of my life trying to figure out what was wrong with my PC freezing, crashing, mouse smearing over windows, games artifacting like crazy. Thought one of my video cards was going bad or my CPU or RAM. Spent a almost a whole day of my life swapping video cards to see if one of my video cards was bad or a bad PCI E slot. Turns out a system restore to before I installed this garbage software fixed it. How could ASUS release a piece of crap like that? That alone makes me want to look somewhere else on my next MOBO purchase.

We have pretty good internet. Problem is i'm too far away from the router so my ping is fine but i get really bad rubber banding in Battlefield and most of the time it's unplayable. I'd like to know what will work, i don't need the signal boosting i just need a more reliable connection. I know there is a way to use a secondary router as a repeater, will this work? I also know i can buy an actual repeater but will this work or are they used to literally boost the signal so you can connect further around the house? i really need a more reliable signal, not just a boost. Thanks for your help in advance!

Hey there! I have two 4k LG monitors that I have down scaled to 1080p because of many reasons. Mainly being streaming down scale from 4k to 1080p looks horrible and takes a lot out of the CPU. Also swapping from one monitor to the other is a bit of a pain when one is set to 1080 and the other is 4k. My question is, is there a way to make the monitors not look like absolute garbage in 1080p. When I'm in game it looks fine. I used 1080p monitors for as long as I can remember and down scaling my 4k to 1080p looks disgusting. Almost feels like i'm using windows 95 with the scale turned up to 200% (it's at 100%, the lowest it will let me go)

I currently have a horrible Zyxel Emg2926(free rental from my ISP) and the range is absolutely terrible. The speeds are fine as I only have a 120Mb down and 30Mb up, that's all that's available in my area. I am looking to have way more range as well as a constant connection. At times the router goes down completely and after a factory reset (pushed by my ISP) it works for a little while. I have around 15 clients connected from various Google homes, phones, tablets, game consoles and a smart TV so I'm not looking for an extender as the router seems to be overtired. I also have smart light switches and WiFi timers running off the router (which messed up my pool balancing as the router went down and did not send the signal to my timer to turn it off). Basically I'm looking for something for a 2 story home with better range and more reliability for around 100 CAD if possible, I'm going to try to hassle my ISP but might be better off spending my own money and negotiating a reduction on my bill to compensate for this 'free' rental. Thanks for all your help!

Hi there! I have posted a few things recently about this new PC I had built and the issues just seem to keep coming. I'll start with the specs. Intel Core i7 7820x 8-Core 16-Thread CPU be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 Extreme CPU Cooler32GB DDR4 High Performance RAM 4x8GBASUS X299 TUF Mark 2 Motherboard USB 3.1 Compatible M.2 CompatibleEVGA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB HYBRID Water Edition256GB SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 Solid State Drive3TB Western Digital RED Hard Disk DrivePhanteks P400s Tempered Glass Edition, BlackEVGA SUPERNova 850w 80+ Gold Rated Power SupplyWindows 10 Home I'm having the worst FPS for this machine. I have only had it about a month and in that time I have installed a handful of games. Fallout 4, Overwatch, Divinity 2, PUBG, Fortnite. Other than that I use the very basics, Discord, Chrome for emails etc. The very basics. I just can't help but feel like this PC is throttled back some how. Ex. I'm playing Fallout 4. It sets everything to ultra automatically. I play that and immediately fps drops from the locked 60 to a fluctuating 30 and below. I change it to 4k and it plays a little better but it's still dropping horribly. I change everything to high settings at 1080p. Still. Under 60 fps. Dropping to low 30s. I make sure vsync is off. Shadows are on low. EVERYTHING... Still nothing. When I play a game like Fortnite I drop to 58-50 fps for a second or so while jumping from the bus, but other than that i'm sitting at a solid 80-110fps on epic settings. I'm genuinely upset about this. My old PC that I replaced had a 1050 TI 4g and a i7 3770 and it ran fallout 4 better than this one. I have tried everything I can think of. I had an issue with scaling down my monitors from 4k to 1080p because while streaming downscaling from 4k looked horrible and took too much from the CPU. All of this is happening while I am NOT streaming. I have Discord and one game running. Any ideas? Thanks!

I bought the y50 last fall (4K IPS 15inch panel, Quad Core i7-4710 2.50Ghz (3.5 turbo), 16gb RAM, 1TB HDD/SSD Hybrid, 860m with 2gb dedicated) and have been very happy with how beautiful the screen and laptop itself is, not to forget about the incredible sound from the speakers too. However there has always been a issue though, it was horridly slow. Way more than what a full on i7 and dedicated GPU should be performing, booting took anywhere from 1 minute to 5+, loading any web browser was about the same, I had to restart photoshop every two hours because it would get a 30 second delay on any action within it and shutting down took forever as it would kill everything but the Keyboard lights and lowest RPM on the fans and sit like that for 10+ minutes. also there is a horrible best I can describe as 'cranking' noises. I comes and goes, I cannot determine if one thing causes it specifically or not as it is very frequent but haphazard. I thought for sure this must be the HDD, could just be the disks arm cranking hard or incorrectly. I got the laptop refurbished and a previous review said he got one with a bad HDD and replaced it with a SSD so I decided to do the same with a 1TB munchkin SSD. It flies now, boots up almost as fast as my desktop and is finally responsive enough for me to use as a daily driver VS previously only ever touching it when I needed it for my photography. However.. the noise is still there and not only does it concern me because a computer shouldn't be making such a terrible noise but it is also simply quite annoying. I've racked my brain and cannot think of what would be making such a noise, and if its a serious cause for concern. Any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas on what it could possibly be would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a video with the noise audible, and previous google searches have only lead me to people complaining about the laptop in some silly way so I'm just hoping it does't completely die on me as other than that damn noise it i a fantastic laptop! Does anyone else on here have Frontier Internet? I think its only in the eastern side of the US. If so, does anyone else get the feeling that their tech support and service is just all around awful?

Hello everybody! What is the Dirtiest / Dustiest PC you've ever cleaned in your life? Mine was an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Machine from 2003 that my friend gave to me. Unfortunately I only have pictures of it after I cleaned it. Share your horrifying story and pictures of the Dirtiest / Dustiest PC's You've Ever Cleaned!

So I came up with this idea for a short film sketch for channel superfun after watching the WAN show in the best place to think of ideas; the shower. A parody video of about 30+mins of Horrible Bosses which obviously needs guest stars from most of the other tech guys, featuring their catchphrases or the thing they are well known for. Ex Barnacules and "poor people" or "batknife". I was thinking if this gets traction maybe they could do this after they have settled into the new office and instead of having a regular here is the office thing use the short film to show it off. Or could be like a tier. I was thinking ncix guys and lmg guys could be working together under linus. There could be monologue thing where linus reminds the team of how things started with him alone and how he created an empire and how they should all follow his example. Keys and linus could have their usual disputes on the script but needs to be taken to a whole new level. Crazy Russian needs to be MOAR CRAX+ZY (typing error that i just left in...). Linus is like the only actual boss in the tech tube space so he has to be horrible boss. Which is great cause then linus can show off his epic acting skills for the evil warlord dictator that he truly is on the inside. The evilness could begin with luke being fired like how kenny dies every episode, but he always comes to work the next day. But one hot summer day in BC leads to an on going discussion between the LMG/nicx guys and they want AC!!! But Dictator Linus refuses and instead spends the money on a new tesla from the lambo money that he sold online. This infuriates luke so he goes to a guy that knows a guy called barnacules who deals in "illegal substances" such as virus', malware. He meets Barnacules on the corner of Barn and Nerd and gets a goody called BatKnife. Luke convinces the group with a plan to force linus' hand into installing AC but Linus' is to all knowing like Kevin Spacey and catches them in the action and even had a couple of backup strategies to prevent this. Linus says something along the lines of "I could ruin you and your career and you will do everything i want. If you thought it was tough before get ready so Super Mega Ultra Evil Warlord Dictator LinusX Ti Max edition. You will work at least 90 hrs a week and forget about getting any new hardware. Deal with it." And not even a week passes and they group tries to think of another plan but someone has to whimp out and come back in because linus did something embarrassing to him that pushes him through the room, like what happens in every movie. This time luke goes online and searches for help, he finds a site called tek syndicate and contacts them for help. The role that Jamie Foxx plays as Deam MF Jones has to be done by tek syndicate as the guys that can help "murder your boss" and get away with it without anyone knowing. Most of tek needs to be on the call with the rest of lmg/ncix, passing banter around. tek guys sound like the "Its all a conspiracy" people but luke likes an idea of theirs and goes with it. It ends up horrible bad but everything ends up working out. Like the ending of all comedy movies. I leave the details to lmg/ncix to figure out. Anyone else think this would be something they would watch on channelsuperfun? Maybe when the tech guys meet each other during CES they could discuss this. This is a just for fun idea. It would be cool if they actually did it but I just want to hear other peoples ideas for sketches. Just to get a laugh out of. //If this does happen can i get a free tshirt or something?

So for a long time now I've been using a little Asus wireless adapter (Asus USB-N13) but for the past few days my connection has been utterly horrid. It drops every few minutes, and when it works it will be unusably slow 90% of the time. The thing is that other people in the house don't seem to have any issues with dropping connection. Windows 7 will say "Limited internet access", "No internet access", or just drop entirely. So I was thinking maybe it's my wireless adapter being too slow; my modem is in the next room, about 4/5 metres between the usb and the modem with a wall in the middle. Should I buy a different USB/PCI-E adapter? Ethernet isn't an option.
