I have a RTX 2060 and I was wondering if mounting it vertically vs horizontal is better for performance. I know that the traditional way is horizontal but if vertical is better and gives better performance then that's an easy and cost effective fix

So basically, my notebook’s (Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44-R1C6 , EU model) screen is behaving weirdly. It has started a few months ago, that after a bumpy train ride, the bottom ~2cm of the screen only worked, if i heated it a little bit by gaming on the notebook, or with a hairdyer, or even if it was cold, but i was playing CS:GO. Since then, the situation has worsened every time i took that train ride, and now, half of my screen does not work, which is not really a big problem, since i have a second screen, but it concerning. And that would imply that i have to replace the screen (which is difficult since i can’t find a replacement screen in Hungary). however, when i open CS:GO or Aimlab (both played on 4:3 stretched), the screen works, but it flickers a little bit where it does not work in windows or other applications (even games like trackmania or forza horizon 5). Hi, so it seems our current HTPC/emulation computer (a Chuwi Hero Box) is dying and I'm going to have to replace it. I'm not going to follow the same cheap Chinese computer path again and will build my own system. I will probably first use an APU (either a Ryzen 4650g or an I5-11400) and add some small GPU later. We're mostly using the computer for video (local videos from the HDD or streaming ~ Netflix and Amazon Prime), music listening, retro gaming emulation. My daughter also started using the computer to make music with her guitar and keyboard. Nothing too fancy, but having some leeway thanks to additional horsepower is welcome. Could you recommend me a good SFF case, preferably horizontal? I'd like to find something rather small but with good air cooling capacities. Could the GOLDEN FIELD N-2S be a good choice, or should I rather check Silverstone (or another brand)? Thanks

I went into VR for some HL Alyx yesterday, and I kept noticing these horizontal lines while looking at bright objects/the sky/scenes with uniformed colors (pretty much the whole game). At first I thought it was the lenses of the VR headset, but after playing I checked if my monitor had a similar, call it "effect", and surely it does. *This is not the screen door effect - I’m referring solely to the horizontal banding lines* Example 1 - Monitor (Sorry for the bad quality, hopefully you can see what I’m trying to address - look from the right of the image, where the effect is more pronounced) Example 2 - VR Headset ("They are faint lines, I pronounced the effect in the photo." Credit to Reddit User u/fujiapplelover for the photo, taken from a similar post he did) The effect is only noticable when I move my head in VR, even a very subtle movement, not while I’m completely still and focusing at a certain spot. As you can see there are vague horizontal banding lines going across the pixel arrangement of the panel. This is kind of immersion breaking while in VR, as you basically have the panel strapped to your eyeballs and not even as much as a single pixel can escape. While playing normal flat screen (2D) games you can’t really notice it unless you are as close to the monitor as seen in *Example 1* above. I might be of the picky kind, as I’m really sensitive to minor details like this, but at the same time it got me questioning if this was normal or if maybe my GPU was causing this. It is quite annoying and pulls me out of immersion more often than not tbh. I don’t see this effect on my Oculus Quest VR headset at all - hence why I got extra curious. The panel on the Quest seems more uniform and clean compared to my G2, even with less pixels. TL;DR: My G2 headset has vague horizontal lines across the whole panel, something my Quest 1 does not. Was wondering if my G2 unit is faulty or if this can maybe be fixed through software/updates down the road. Monitor: Samsung CRG9 (QLED) PCVR Headset: HP Reverb G2

I'm building a desk PC. I'm almost completely done, ready to make my final cuts, super excited. The last hangup I have has been bugging me since I first got this idea. It's how to mount the gpu flat on the table, fan side up. I can't find any useful information anywhere on the internet, and every idea I come up with on my own seems incredibly convoluted. Can anyone help me out here? For the record, I'm using a zotac gtx 1070. Another issue I have is that the cooler overhangs the pcb by about an inch so it would be difficult it use the holes in the pcb to mount it since I'm not sure how I would reattach the cooler to the gpu once it's mounted. If there's anything I'm overlooking or any ideas you have please let me know Pic of my layout attached

With the release of Threadripper, I build myself a new rig and have a bunch of spare parts, so I decided to build my mother a new PC. She's currently using an old AMD from 2010, and not really a great CPU from even then, so my 6600k and parts should give her a nice upgrade. However, she has requested a horizontal case. mATX size factor and the ability to handle a full-sized graphics card required. (MSI R9 390 Gaming 8G) Number one priority: it has to be easy to work with. No really hard to reach screws (especially necessary screws like pcie slots... In my new build, I failed in using the Corsair 780t because of that piece of metal sticking out over the pcie screws) or anything similarly awkward please. I am not fully able bodied and neither is anyone in my family. If it can support a 280 mm radiator and a full-sized power supply, that would be a very nice bonus. I have a budget for this of about $150 CA, but I will spend more if necessary if it has those last two features above, which would save me from having to buy a new cooler and power supply. Does anybody have any recommendations?

Hey Guys, Recently built my first loop inside of a desk. The Horizontally mounted reservoir has this leftover bubble after 10 days of use. I knew it was likely, so no worries. However, I noted yesterday that there's some brownish dirt (if it accumulates) in the bubble zone and an edge of apparently the same stuff. I'm wondering what it is. Is it swarf? Dust? Dried op fluid? In assembly I did clean out the radiator and did a 18 hours leak test with demineralised water. After that I drained the system and filled with EK premix. Any ideas? PS: It's not really a problem and I can clean it up. I'm just curious. First picture: Just after finishing the built/overclock. Some ten days later:

Hi All, I'm planning to do a PC build, hopefully mid/late this year and this time I wanted to build one with a horizontal mount case. Ideally my requirements are : itx or matx case (small form factor) water cooling capable (in terms of space) horizontal mount glass/transparent sides For a while I've been eyeing on the the caselab BH 2 but im not too sure about 2 things on this case where; 1. the size for water cooling 2. Budget (since I'm in NZ so shipping and RAM prices are sky rocketing and what not) Will you guys have any other recommendations for a case that will fit my requirements so I can start comparing now, and if a new case appears during the build time I can also compare.

Hi, I want to know if there's a fan out there that is strong enough to push out the air in my rig even if the cpu cooler blocks the airflow of my exhaust. I have a tecware carbon cube/diypc cuboid r case. My current fan setups are 2 top intake fans with filtered mesh for positive airflow and a 200mm fan that's included in the case (which I will replace in the future). For the exhaust, I have 120mm exhaust fan and another slot for an 80mm (help me decide if I should buy another 80mm for an exhaust and what brand/type please ) I'm open to suggestions to improve my rig

Hi, I am searching for a mouse with the ability to scroll vertically as well as horizontally. My problem is that I can't find anything apart from the Apple Magic Mouse, the old Apple Mouse and the Logitech MX Master. Problem with these is: - Magic Mouse as well as MX Master are simply too expensive - Old Apple Mouse and Magic Mouse are for Mac, therefore I don't know if a workaround exists in which horizontal scrolling in windows works. Are there any other mice with good horizontal scrolling? (sry for not-that-great english)

Hi, so I was originally going to get the Fractal Node 304, but now I am having to use an atx motherboard so if anyone knows of anything similar but atx that would be great! Needs to be: Small (I know its going to be at least 12x10" because of the size of atx, but as small as it can be other than that) A few 3.5" hard drive bays ATX I would also really like it to be a sort of cube shape with a horizontal motherboard tray, basically like a scaled up node 304. However I will look at any suggestions! Thanks

Currently have this : http://www.jonsbo.com/en/products_4_1.html but I'm looking to change it for something new as mine is looking a bit rough I've looked at allot of cases lately and not seen anything good enough? suggestions? needs to be able to fit into a normal "living room" style look, so cant be some fancy gaming style case. I prefer the horizontal ones like mine, (partial to some of these new smaller cube designs too) but they are few and far between. Any cases that are not made this way but would work? needs to fit a mATX mobo and full size gpu. I've seen the fractal 605 and its looks good. cheers

So for a couple of months now I have this issue with my monitor. It has some horizontal lines they are very fain on light backgrounds like you could barely see them but on dark backgrounds like black eg photoshop or spotify you can see them and it is really annoying. I am using my recommended resolution which is 1920x1080 and 60 hertz which is my max refresh rate. I also tried re plugging the VGA cable and tried both sides on different ends. ps : This also appears In games like csgo and obviously on my desktop or when im watching a youtube video and those black bars on the side are flickering too.
