I'm working on a project for my highschool comp sci class. I'm using Code.org JS. The project is to make a library that uses parameters, returns, for loops, if statements, and of course I have to have comments explaining the code but I can do that at the very end. I'm having an issue where my console is saying "undefined" but I don't know what's returning "undefined." I just found out that the undefined statements are coming when I call the functions with a parameter at thev very end of my program. I don't know why it's giving undefined and then also what it's supposed to console.log. Can someone explain what's going on? Also, I don't know what to return. If someone could give me some tips on what would be best to return in this situation that would be great too

Budget (including currency): $2750 in USD Country: Good ol' US of A Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I plan on using this build for gaming and possibly streaming. The heaviest games I'd play on as of now are StarWars Battlefront 2, StarWars Squadrons, No Mans Sky, and possibly some VR games that are a bit less taxing. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Well, I am upgrading from.. nothing lol. I plan on hopefully buying my parts before the end of the year. for res and refresh rates, I would like to be able to use 1080p without a problem, but if I can get to 4k with this budget, that would be epic. As for refresh rate.. somewhere between 144-240Hz range would be nice. Here's the link to my parts list (I think. If you couldn't tell already, I'm very new to this) Some of the parts have custom prices which I don't know if they are correct, but there you go! What are some recommendations for laptops that are easy to repair and/or upgrade and affordable. These can be used or refurbished but I would not want to buy from Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

I was going to get this one, since my budget is low, but if anyone can recommend something that is either better at the same price, or the same specs at a lower price, that'd be awesome!

I don't know if there is already a topic for this but I don't think there is. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about FIRST Robotics. More importantly I was wondering if anyone had an idea on what this year's game is. If you don't know what it is go to https://www.firstinspires.org/ to find out more.

On amazon the Surface Laptop 1 that has 8gb of ram, an i5 and 256gb of storage is only 700$, My question is, is that worth it in 2019? If not, what would be a good alternative? I'm a high school student and I just want something mid range to work for high school and college. My currency is USD and my budget is maxed at 800$ Here is the link to the laptop : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0716J3CYJ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A2R67SAV3D4GE7&psc=1 If the above link takes you to one that is more than 700$, it is specifically the burgundy one. Thanks for any help!

I have been an avid watcher of eSports (mostly SC2 and Brood War) for a few years now and am working on starting a high school eSports league for the high school I go to and the ones in the region. Does anyone have any idea of games we should play or any thoughts on it?

Ok so i just started first year in highschool and we get our laptops tomorrow and i have asked around for the specs and model of the laptop and now i want to figure out what latop it might be, just for fun, its not like i cant just wait but i find it a bit of fun to know what i MIGHT be getting tomorrow so this is what i have found this far: what i know: I5 SSD Radeon graphics HP is the brand its slim 8GB of RAM its aparently their fastest laptop yet was told by the second year students at a previus vistit that they had I7s and 970s(probably 970m) but thats scetchy thats what i know, but i cant find anything that 100% matches those specs when looking around, but this is the closes i have found: HP ZBook 15u G3 Mobile Workstation only thing is that has a FirePro GPU and i was told Radeon so i expected something like a 370, 380 or something(not good with mobile side of AMD cards so i dont know) and that FirePro card isnt the most powerfull thing in the workd and didnt seem better then a 970(m) from what i have seen, anyway thanks for any help here and il update this thread with what the actiual specs are when i get it, i will also post a FireStrike score and probably a Heaven one too just because and also probably a Cinebench score if i remember thanks for any info here, im thinking the laptop might only be available through large buissnes orders from HP or something, not sure if thats a thing tho.

Hey, as of now I'm 15 years old heading to my 3rd year of high school and I'd like some advice on picking the right choices to be on the right path I want. I just want some quick opinions on what to courses/subjects to prioritize. Maybe what maths to take? Such as calculus or vectors. I don't know really. Maybe someone here who has a decent amount of experience can point me in the right direction. Some good university/colleges that offer that in Canada or links to websites that can give me some knowledge

With so many of use having just done, doing, or just about to do major exams/tests, I thought it would be interesting to see other people's work ethics towards them. How do you prepare for tests? Do you study/how much? What do you hope to get? What do you do afterwards? I study the week-end before. Not much, just to refresh my brain. I hope to get an A, but a B is fine. I usually chill if I have the time with a smoothie or something refreshing after the mind-f*ck that is exams.

This is the first year for the Louisiana offseason FIRST Robotics Competition event. I wish I had better news to introduce linus tech to FRC than this but hell, any excuse is good enough, I figured you guys would be interested in this sort of stuff. Here's the louisiana offseason event Red Stick Rumble in Baton Rouge Louisiana. If you've never seen an FRC event and you are in the area definitely check this out. http://www.redstickrumble.org/ For those not lucky enough to be in the area there are several other events. You can find the list here: IRI (http://www.indianaroboticsinvitational.org/) is the biggest offseason regional and will feature almost all the top teams. Our team, 1310 is going, ask for Scott if you want to talk with me. FRC is a high school robotics competition with a couple thousand teams across the world (mostly in the states, best ones are in Canada-I am a little biased) which takes place every year. Teams get a new game every year and only have 6 weeks to strategize, design, build and test their robots before competition starts. Other competitions like FTC and FLL and jr.FLL are for different age levels and budgets - FRC is the biggest and most advanced (and most expensive). Just some other FRC resources to get you guys hooked. This years World Finals matches (best of 3, the rest of the competition is also available): This years game video (I know it's bad, it's become something of a tradition for the game video) First US site First Canada site I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have though I'd be surprised if I was the only one on this forum who knows about this. Have fun and spread the word. It's much better in person.

So there's a long story to go along with this, but basically, me and couple friends are trying to make a high school esports team at our school for League of Legends. We need computers and might not get 100% funded so we're looking at how cheap we can get the cost without spending money on a crap computer. This is the quick build I made: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m9xhf8 I'm not sure if we'll need a networking card or not but I put it in anyways. I'm wondering if there's anyone on here who has already made a bare minimum build for LoL or any other advice or help I can get. If there's anything that I can get cheaper that I don't know about please let me know. Thanks! Edit: I forgot to mention that through the High School Esports organization we can buy $800 NZXT Pc's all the way up to I think $2000
