Recently I was testing my pc so I downloaded GTA V and saw temperatures 68-70+ and was shocked because i know Arctic liquid freezer II 360mm is really good and those temps were not normal(I was monitoring cpu temp through afterburner game overlay) Argus Monitor software showed identical temps and argus was showing me cpu temp on idle 37-40. after i downloaded aida64 and temperatures were -10 degrees or even less of what afterburner and argus were showing me. Questions is i don't know which software to trust and why even do i have this problem of getting different temps on different software, how do I know if my aio/cpu has problems ? After wondering why my pc was feeling very sluggish while gaming my friend asked me to show him my temperatures and I noticed that it was maxed out at 100 degrees. It turns out the cooler for my cpu didn't have a fan installed. I recently went out to buy one and while it seems to helped a bit my cpu is still struggling to stay cooler The image i've attached is my current idle status, I've had my pc running for maybe 15-20 mins without any games or other intensive programs running. What can I do to fix this? The program being using is speccy if anyone knows a more reliable program i'd love to know.

So I just built a pc. These are my specs https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SirPie/saved/kwCgt6. I am using these 3 case fans https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BK1BMHX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and the stock cpu cooler and the stock fan in the case as my 4th fan. I am connecting all of the fans using this fan hub https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077YHLDSP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. My problem is that I am getting high cpu temps and my pc will sometimes just turn off while gaming. I have messed around with the settings in Ryzen master and nothing has helped so I just set them back to default. The attached picture is the settings in Ryzen Master for my CPU and a picture of my PC. (Don't mind the second screen. It is my 2nd monitor and I couldn't figure out how to take a screenshot without it) I have tried many things and nothing seems to help. I have looked up my problem on Youtube and other forums and I haven't found much useful. Does anyone have suggestions?

So how do I begin, About three years ago I bought some pieces and put them together. Intel core i5 4690k AMD r9 270x z87-hdr gigabyte motherboard 8gb vengeance ram I recently changed the gpu to Nvidia gtx 1060 6gb and it worked fine I was able to play everything good and stable and now all of a sudden I turn my pc on and my fps is 30 and below when playing blacklist and Agar.io is lagging and I can hear the water cooling fan spin super fast and it is so noisy. I downloaded a software to check the temperature of the cpu and it said 97 degrees celcius and I turned it off immeietly, now each time I turn the pc on it turns of by itself. At one point I got to the login screen and then it turned off now the screen won't even go on. However on the gpu there is a light that i glowing white at all time, there is a small text on the gpu that says ej15led2 I don't really know what the problem is. Do I need to get a new Motherboard + Cpu or what is the issue? help please.

Hi Guys, I recently built a new rig with an i7 7700K together with a Cryorig H5 Universal heatsink as my first DIY project. The problem I am facing is that during a stress test, the CPU temperature jumps up from an ambient temperature of about 34C to 70C within a few seconds, keeps climbing slowly and stabilizes in the low 80s. When I stop the stress test, the temperature again drops back very quickly to 40C within a few seconds. As a result of this high temperature, I am currently running the CPU without any overclock. I have tried reinstalling the heatsink several times with new thermal paste reapplied each time but the situation remains the same. Attached is the temperature profile that I captured over about 10 mins using Afterburner and HWMonitor. Is this normal? If not, is this a heatsink or CPU issue? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Right, I recently bought a Ryzen 7 1700 with an Asus Prime X370 Pro and i'm overlocking for the first time. For now I have the stock AMD wraith spire cooler, but I do intend to get a Noctua cooler soon. So i watched some guides, and managed to get a stable overlock of 3.8hgz with a CPU voltage of 1.33 volts. (I don't dare go any more than 3.8 until i get a better cooler) I ran cinebench a few times and it seems to hit a really high temperature of 82 degrees celsius. Now this seems really high, but am I right in saying that not many applications such as games or rendering programs would ever use 100% of the CPU like Cinebench does, and thus 82 degrees celsius is actually rather safe for Cinebench? I just want to be sure, as this is my first time overlocking. i'd probaly try and hit 4.0ghz when i get a better cooler. Thanks for helping a first timer.

Hi, I've started building my first AiO cooled system, but when I turn on the PC, the CPU temperature grows too fast, I can only look in bios for a minute or two before it gets dangerously hot. During the POST, I get message that "CPU fan speed error detected". In the bios though, I can see the RPM of the pump (Sometimes jumps to insane values like 20 000 for few seconds, then goes back to around 2300 RPM), the pump is connected to the CPU Fan header on motherboard. The temperature of CPU reaches 90°C in about a minute. Even if the temperature is offset by 20°C, it's still too high. For the cooler installation, I removed the existing standoffs from motherboard, kept the existing backplate from the motherboard as is written in the manual, installed AMD standoffs, swapped the bracket on the pump and seated the pump on the CPU, securing it with the thumbscrews. The fit is pretty solid, there is no wobble or any other issue I could think of. I have tried re-seating the pump on the CPU, didn't help. (New thermal paste applied.) The radiator itself stays cold. Could be because of the short time the system can run, I don't know. First I suspected that the cooler is not touching the CPU, but that was not the case. Fans on the radiator are spinning, so I don't think the issue is there. That leads me to think that there might be some issue with the pump. This is my first time using AiO cooler, so it might actually be some rookie mistake. All tips and hints appreciated. So I am very new to overclocking, having only tried manually pushing past stock clock speeds within the past 2 weeks. I am experiencing some disturbing temperatures at 4.4 ghz with a hyper 212 evo paired with a noctua nf-f12. specs are as follows: Motherboard: asrock z97 extreme4 CPU: i5 4690k CPU cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO with noctua nf-f12 Memory: 4x4 Crucial Ballistix GPUS: MSI 980 OC in SLI (yes they are bottlenecked by the cpu i know) Power Supply: Corsair RM850 Case: thermaltake urban s71 Case Fans: Intake:200 mm thermaltake top and front Exhaust: 120mm thermaltake rear mounted Running positive case pressure with decent airflow paths, and core temp is reporting spikes up to 96 degrees while running aida64 on Core #0 only. Core #0 is averaging in the mid 80's The others are stable at more reasonable temps. Thermal paste is arctic silver and has been applied, cleaned with IPA and reapplied twice in the last few days. I suppose the thing I am most curious about is the delta between core0 and the others. Any suggestions would be appreciated. EDIT: Thank you everyone who commented, I really appreciate the input and prompt responses. you folks are amazing. this is my first time trying a forum out and i gotta say im impressed with the community feel. im not worried anymore, im just gonna dial back the OC and let it ride till i finish my new build.

Hi, my CPU temperatures are high and I don't know why. I updated my motherboard ASRock X99M Killer/3.1 BIOS to version 3.80. I didn't check the temperatures after the update. After a while I did some rendering and noticed the Corsair text turned red. I shut down the computer and waited a few minutes and then went to BIOS. The CPU temperature was over 70 degrees. Before, the idle temperatures hovered between +28 °C - 35 °C. My first guess was contact between the cold plate and the CPU. I changed the thermal paste and the temperatures were lowered by a few degrees. I think, I heard a bubbles going through the pump - so that might be the cause. Is there any way to get the air out of the system? Is the CPU voltages ok? Is there something else that I could try?

Hi i just built my PC 1 month ago and everything is fine but today after closing Fortnite, i noticed that my Graphics card ( EVGA RTX 2070 ) usage is still still high reaching 30% and the temperature is nearly 45 C. my card wasn't like that before, it used to set on 3 % usage at idle most of the time and temps were very low. i tried closing programs from Task manager and restarting the computer but nothing changed. i open Process explorer but i didn't noticed anything strange ( i dint actually know if its right or not, so here are some pictures of the process explorer https://imgur.com/a/BMomMDE ) do anyone knows whats wrong ? I recently was asked by my friend to take a look at his gaming laptop. After removing the laptop's fan, I feel as if I witnessed a murder scene. Anyone with experience please take a look at these pics and do a quick analysis on what happened here? From what I can tell, the laptop vents got clogged by dust which made the temps skyrocket. As a result, the thermal paste melted... Is this possible? Was there just too much thermal paste?

Hi, I have an i7 4770 with an aftermarket cooler, that kept always my temps down, even gaming in summer won't go over 65º Celsius, so pretty good actually (IDLE at 30-35 Celsius). I haven't changed the thermal compound in about a year now. And my CPU is now at 60º Celsius idle. Im worried lol. My PC Case is pretty clean and dust-free in general. Should I change the thermal compound right? I mean, when gaming temps don't go over 70º, is not THAT bad. PD: I need this CPU working for 2 or 3 more years, so, changing the thermal compound is a must, right? Thanks! CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Contac 21 Thermalcompound I use: DeepCool Z3

Hello friends, I have serious questions concerning high temperatures with my i7 4770. I am living under the roof and it is freaking hot right now (feels like 40+°C [104+°F]). My PC got really noisy so i checked out the Core temperatures with the tool "Core Temp 1.1". All 4 Cores (stock cooler) were between 75°C and 80°C (158-176°F) hot with ~20-30% workload. Now question #1: Is this too hot? As I am writing this thread right now i closed most programms and opened the Computercase. The workload is now 1-10% and the temperature went down to ~45°C (113°F). Now question #2: Would you recommend to take steps against those temperatures or are they just high but still OK? Question #3: Which steps would you take? Some further explanation: I never encountered problems with a lack CPU power. If you say that the CPU will regulate itself good enough that it doesn't take any damage whatsoever I am fine with how the system works. The case is a very closed case with only 1 case-cooler and few air-fences (or whatever you call them, the windows where the air gets suckedinto the case) Thank you for your lovely replies in advance, noobwannabot PS: Just in case you got any decease while reading my english, just note that english is not my first language and that I am melting right now, i cant think correctly it is so hot!

I mentioned on r/pcmasterrace that my CPU will sometimes get to 110ºC under load, many users replied that this is real bad and could damage something. What should I do? I can't afford to get an aftermarket cooler.

I'm currently cooling my Intel i7 4770K (3.5Ghz Not Overclocked) with a Hyper 212 EVO, and still getting uncomfortably high temps when running a stress test. when running prime95 maximum heat output test to simulate the worst case scenario, some of my CPU cores went past 100C. After re-mounting the cooler, the temps didn't change. I have 3 case fans, and a fan on my cooler, so airflow isn't a problem - I'm using arctic silver 5, so thermal paste isn't the problem - I remounted the cooler, so fingerprints/debris on the IHS aren't the problem, and i cant find what the problem actually is. my only suspicion would be the thermal paste between the die and the IHS, but unless I need to, i would prefer not removing the IHS from my CPU, as I don't have unlimited money, and cant risk killing my CPU.

Hello, yesterday I assembly a pc for a friend with: - AMD A10 X4 7850K Box Processor FM2+ -Gigabyte GA F2A68HM-DS2 -Enermax Pro 500W -Kingston Hyperx 8 GB. Everytime I go on Bios, processor reaches the max frequency (~4gb) and temperature reach 70°C. Also when I'm doing nothing on pc the fan frequency is very high. CPU fan 4-pin connector is connected on CPU_FAN slot. That seems and issue but I don't understand why I have this problem. I've got the stock cooler and I know that is not good as the others, but I don't understand the high frequency on bios and always high temperatures. When I download windows update my computer looks like crazy and the cpu fan going to max speed. Should I use another kind of cooler? or is this a cpu problem? Should I get a refund? Here You can see how only one core is used everytime. I connected the VGA port on the motherboard and I'm using a normal tv monitor. Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone, i just created my account here on the Forum, and i'm kind of concerned about the temperature of my CPU since yesterday, when i was doing some Stress Tests to do some overclocking for some extra performance. The reason i wanted that, is because my PC is having a performance drop over the last year, but now i'm starting to think that it's actually because of its temperature. I already dropped the overclocking option, so now i just want to ask you guys: What can i do to keep it cooler without having to buy new gear ? If you're seeing this, i'm already thanking you for your time. PS: Sorry for the bad English, i'm Brazilian. As you can see, it still hot in comparison to what i saw on it's temperature range. And at full work, it heats really fast, in 1 minute it already reaches 100ºC.

Hi everyone. I just upgraded my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After short time I recognised that my CPU temps rised a lot. They were about 33 C at standard use. Now they are up to 65 C... I use Kreken X61 cooler, everything is connect, reinstalled the CAM software but this did not help. The CAM software says that fans and pump are not spinning, displaying 0 but I can clearly hear and see that they work. Any suggestions what to do?! I use Intel i7 4790k and ASUS Maximus Hero mobo.

i have been use a Kraken X41 to cool my AMD A10 7850k for almost a week and am getting very high temperature for a reason i do not know. I have changed out the thermal compound for Arctic Silver 5 and have the stock fan in a pull configuration out the top of my NZXT Source 220. at Idle it will hover around 38-40 degrees C and running an anti virus scan it will hit 69-72 Degrees C. So WHat do you guys think the issue is? i have pictures of the two different ways i have an this cooler, one looks nice the other not so much. So yeah need some help with this one
