Newbie Intro David N., Single, 75 Yrs. Old My music interests are Classical, Jazz, Folk, Easy Listening, OTRs & Audio Books I want to put together a computer audio system with a budget of around $1,000.00! I have no experience is this area My computer (Windows 11 Pro) is a Beelink SER5 Mini PC,AMD Ryzen 7 5700U(8C/16T,up to 4.3 GHz),Mini Computer 16GB DDR4 RAM 500GB M.2 SSD Graphics 8 core 1900 MHz Wifi6/BT5.2/HDMI+DP+Type-C, . The MiniPC only has USB outputs and a small mini earphone jack (Totally useless)! My budget includes a High Resolution DAC/Headphone AMP Headphones, Speakers and AMP to Run the Speakers if Needed (Totally confused about this area). I don’t play my music loud! I’m not into Blue Tooth (The Equipment May Have It But I Won’t Be Using Blue Tooth For Anything) or low Bass and will only be using wired headphones at home sitting at my computer or else the computer speakers. ANC headphones could come to be useful (Noisy Neighbors) and also light weight. I want to sign up with a High Resolution Streaming Service such as TIDAL or Amazon (I’m a Prime Member and can get 1 Yr of Amazon Unlimited ($7.00 per Month) For the past week I’ve been watching You Tube Videos and checking out info on the internet. I’ve seen a nice set consisting of a High ResolutionDAC & a Headphone AMP. This combo is from Topping, DAC = DX3 Pro + $200.00 (I wish this DAC had MQA support but no luck) Headphone AMP = PA 3s $150.00 I’m not sure how the two would be connected cable wise and if you can also attached a pr of speakers to the amp. I’d hate to have to buy a separate AMP just for the speakers. I want to purchase my DAC/Headphone AMP and Headphones in the next month or 2, The speakers can be purchased later. I’ll keep doing my research on the internet and this intro may give you some ideas for suggestions! Tks, David N.

Basically the title's question. Context: I'm looking for a 16:10 monitor, and they all seem to cap at 1920x1200, 24'' sizes. I own a Dell U2415 of exactly those specs, but I'm trying to see if there is any upgrade path from that within the 16:10 aspect ratio. 16:10 has already been a minority thing for a while, but since the mentoned 24'', 1920x1200 models came out (more or less together with 1080p popularity in 16:9) it seems to have gone from minority to non-existent, and I can't find 1440p-4K equivalent on 16:10. I don't think I've even seen newer 1920x1200 displays, it's just the same models from back then still being sold. So, are you aware of any 16:10 monitor exceeding 1920x1200 (and, second to that, exceeding 24'')?

I am looking for some suggestions for monitors. I have looked at so many, without any luck finding one that fits what I am looking for. I am looking for a 3D 4K High Resolution for gaming as well, and possibly curved. Any suggestions?

OK, so I posted this to reddit's r/techsupport, but I also wanted to post here to get other opinions as well. I did nothing in the way of settings changes, yet when I woke up today my normally 1920x1080 monitor was able to run at 2715x1527, I am mainly wondering what caused this and what would be the drawbacks, so far there haven't been problems game wise, performance is the same and I haven't had lag/stuttering/screen tearing other than what I have already seen @ 1080p. The monitor isn't overheating and I haven't checked the FPS on Skyrim yet, but I played it for a bit and didn't notice anything different.

As a casual gamer, will I be blown away by G-Sync or a higher resolution than 1080p? I heard G-Sync is the best thing that could happen to your eyes, but it seems a bit expensive at the moment, because I can buy a 4k monitor for that price. I am also looking into buying a higher resolution monitor, because it makes everything look a lot sharper. I haven't tried any of these solutions, so I am planning on going to a store and try to test it, but for now, I'm asking your opinion. Some info: I almost never play AAA titles, like Assassins Creed. I mostly play Dirt: Showdown, Need For Speed Rivals, Minecraft (which has a hell lot of screen tearing without V-Sync), and some Valve-games, like TF2. I currently have a single 1080p TN monitor, which I'm planning to keep as a second monitor.

Samsung is preparing to unveil a new high resolution laptop display which could set a new standard for notebook displays: a 13.3" QHD 3200x1800 panel, that gives it a whooping 276 PPI, which is more than most smartphone and tablet displays, let alone notebook displays, with the best of them only coming in at 227 PPI (Macbook Pro Retina 13) and 239 PPI (Chromebook Pixel). Samsung says the display is supposed to be 30% more efficient than current LCDs and is set to be launched this week. Hello! I have gotten the chance to get a 4k monitor for fairly cheap, and I currently have two 1080p monitors running from a 780 from Asus. Would the 780 support a 4k monitor as well as an extra 1080p one, or maybe even two extra 1080p monitors? I would assume it would since I believe the max resolution applies per screen, but I'm not sure(hence the post). Thanks

Is the card with an i5 good for that gaming without crossfiring and anti alising for most games at high-ultra settings?

Hey guys, I was gonna get a Titan Ultra when it was released as I expected it to be an upgrade to the Titan. I thought that when it was released, the Titan would drop down to about $700 since it's basically a 780 with extra VRAM and CUDA cores (from what I know, I could be wrong), and the Ultra would take it's place at $1000. However, Tom's Hardware shows that the Ultra is just an overclocked Titan with a water cooler, and now my plans are shot as I'm not interested in that for $1000. I fully intend to buy a 4K monitor (or TV, I game on a TV now so the extra latency doesn't bother me) when they get more affordable (like reputable brands such as Sony and the like coming down to that $1500 4K TV by Seikei), so I felt it would be better to get the Titan as it would drive the games better as well. So, I wanted to ask, knowing I will get a 4K monitor or TV later, what would the community at LTT suggest I get? A 780 now and another later? Or still get a Titan for the extra VRAM and such and just stick with that? Thanks, Vitalius.

Chinese tv manufacturer TCL are releasing a 4K tv for $999, and it doesn't seem to look too bad either. Looks like Linus was correct again, all hail Linus, will this tv now force other manufactures to drop prices on their new 4K tv's, hopefully but they will still be trying to sell their branding.
