Hello good people, After 10years of using pc to work & game it is no longer powerful enough to do just about anything... Even photoshop crashes the system. I know a thing or two about pc building but I lack experience and dont want to mess it up since we are building a high end system that (I hope) will last for at least few years, maybe more. Location of buying parts: Poland Upgrading old rig is NOT an option. definitely NOT an option Budget: We do have a budget but it's rather big, if it comes to it. We'll probably save some money on storage/ram Big importance on reliability, stability & SILENCE. Here are the parts we are thinking so far: RTX 2080 Ti 11gb i9 9900k (or i9 9900ks but not sure how big of a performance boost we get for $) 32-64gb of ram 1tb nvme ssd as much reliable hdd storage as possible (right now we have 2tb and they are full, im considering external hdd to store all that and maybe just going for 2tb again) Air Cooling all the way, I think it is more reliable in the long run Monitor: around 1440p(can be 4k but im guessing price would jump very high without significant benefit) 144hz upto 4ms latency & as high color accuracy as humanly possible 99%+ (for reference pics & such, needs to have accurate colors) Correct me if I am wrong but I think other parts are situational As for the case, I'll choose it myself when I know all the parts. Tomorrow there's a huge sale in Poland so we will most likely grab majority of parts then. If there's any questions I can answer, feel free to ask. I just got a brand new PC with these specs: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Super 32GB Adata XPG Spectrix DDR4 ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-A Intel i9-10900k Intel 1TB 660p SSD 1440p Samsung Monitor I ran 3dMark and got these results: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/12940808 My graphics score is super low, but my CPU score is great. I'm getting less than 10 FPS no matter what games I play. I'm running the newest version of Windows 10 and have uninstalled and reinstalled it. All my drivers are up to date. My monitor is plugged directly into the graphics card via DP. I've lowered the graphics quality within games to favor performance and it doesn't help. I've turned V-Sync off, but doesn't change anything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled my display adapters, didn't work. I was using the same monitor and peripherals with my previous setup and got pretty good results. I have no idea what's going on. I've only been a PC gamer for a few months now and am completely lost. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here and was hoping to get some further insight on the pc parts I have been choosing for my new rig and if they can be better optimized for the same price or even less. Here's the list! *PS: I am trying to create a full black/blue themed build so if you could limit the suggestions to black/blue colored parts I would really appreciate it! Main Rig: CPU: Intel Core i5-4670k 3.4 GHz Quad Core (Every review and forum that I have read for this cpu has said that it is a great choice for gaming and would be a waste to pay extra for an i7 if you mainly plan on gaming). MoBo: MSI Z87-G55 ATX Motherboard (At first I was between this mobo and the gigabyte GA-Z87-UD3H. I ended up picking this one based on aesthetics alone. I am not very educated when it comes to mobos and their layout so if someone could explain whether this was a good decision or not it would be much appreciated). GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB (Since AMD announced their new lineup of GPUs I have been glued to this card because of the cost/performance ratio. It costs about the same as a GTX 760 for alot more performance, and performs right along side the 770. Also, with the release of MANTLE I definitely think this card is going to be hard to beat). PSU: Corsair RM 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular (This seems like a great choice because my case is not completely optimized for silence and I have been told, correct me if I am wrong, that the psu is one of the loudest parts in a pc. I also wanted to get somewhat of an overkill psu so it isn't constantly running at full load). Case: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 Black-Windowed (First off I love the simplistic/elegant look of this case and would be proud to show it off, also I have heard great things about this case [build quality, airflow, fully dust-proof, etc]. Oooo yeah did I mention this case is 55% off right now on newegg!). Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB (I could get this or a caviar black but seeing that I am also getting an ssd I didn't think a black was necessary). Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD (These samsung SSDs have been getting a lot of rave for being some of the best out there. I don't know if I should go with the 120gb module or the 250gb, I will most likely only put my operating system on this and some of my most frequently played games [WoW, DOTA 2, Skyrim, etc.] I'm not sure how much memory it will require to store these on there so tell me if you think I will be fine or if I should grab the 250gb one instead). RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1600 (Once again I'm not sure if I should get less or more, with new games requiring 6gbs of memory to even play I feel like I should future proof my system and go with 16gbs, but many people have told me that 8gbs is more than enough for gaming. I honestly chose this memory because it's some of the only blue ram I could find that I actually enjoyed looking at, if anyone knows of any other blue ram please link it. Also, should I get the 1600MHz or 2133MHz for gaming?). OD: Asus DRW-24B1ST (I went for a cheap but reliable OD because well.. let's be honest now I'm going to install the OS and never touch this thing again, I might even uninstall it to use some other 5.25" drive). Peripherals, Aftermarket Cooling, and OS: Monitor: Acer H236HLbid (This monitor looks sexy! It's very cost efficient for an IPS panel, I have heard that the bezel is outstanding, and honestly haven't heard many negative things what so ever about this monitor). Keyboard: CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate Cherry MX Blue (Now I have seen and been told that MX blues should not be used for gaming but honestly I don't care, I want that tactile feedback from typing, and I'm sure the difference in response between blue and red is very minimal). Mouse: Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse (I plan to live stream/record WoW and DOTA so it's pretty much essential for me to have one of these bad boys. Also, I have heard that this is much easier and all around better to use than the naga). Headset: Razer Kraken 7.1 Surround Sound (I know some of you will hate me for going with a razer product but honestly from everything I have heard this headset has SIGNIFICANTLY improved on the kraken pro and now has a digital mic of which the quality is very impressive). CPU Cooling: Corsair H100i (Now I am only going to do moderate OCs so this cooler might be a little overkill but it looks significantly better than a colossal heat sink pressed against the side window). Fans: Corsair Air Series SP120 x4 (I have heard that these are some top notch fans [obviously not noctua but those things don't match my build in the slightest] I'm not sure whether I should go with the silence optimized ones or the performance optimized. Seeing that my case isn't silence optimized I might go with the quiet edition of these fans so my build will be somewhat silent). LEDs: NZXT Hue (I love the fact that I will be able to change my case LEDs to anything I want just by twisting a few dials, and this will be much more convenient than a single colored LED brick sticking on the side of my case). OS: Windows 8.1 OEM 64-Bit (Now I might get a lot of hate for choosing windows 8 but honestly I don't care about looks and simplicity if this OS will optimize performance I'm getting it).
