I had a 4TB WD HDD that I was using, and a few days ago the boot slowed down a lot. It takes around 20 or more seconds to get to this first failure screen (see attached) . From there it boots into bios and it wants me to do something, I'm not sure what, it just looks as if I opened bios normally. If I exit without saving changes then it boots up the OS no problem. But every time I restart the same thing happened. That's when I got the ironwolf 4TB, and copied the data over from the failing one. I plug it into the PC but it gets stuck on the tuf screen (see attached) for around 30 or more second, then it bring up the no media screen (see attached), and then it boots into bios. On the times when I boot with the failing HDD then I can see my SSD, my backup and my failing HDD. but when I boot with new ironwolf it fails... I was able to hotswap the HDDs when I was logged in, since the OS is on the SSD, and I Was able to initialize and format the ironwolf and copy over the data from the backup drive. Now each time I boot with the ironwolf and SSD I just keep getting sent back to BIOS. Please help, I've spent days on this and still can't figure out how to turn on my computer normally

Hi everyone. So yesterday after playing a game I shut down the game and left my pc running while I was in the other room. I came back to my pc a few hours later with a black screen saying "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot Media in selected boot device and press a key". Nothing happened in the time I was gone as my pc was just sitting there idling. When I go into my bios my pc recognizes my boot ssd and it is set to top priority device. I've also tried booting from a portable hard drive which I have a back up on and it's still not working. I get the same error message. Anyone have any idea? Specs are: Intel 8700k Msi sli plus z370 mobo Corsair vengeance pro Rgb 16gb 3200mhz Asus 2080 gpu Samsung 970 evo m.2 ssd 500gb 2tb segate barracuda HDD

First off if this tread is in the wrong place let me know. This is my first post on the forum and wasn't sure where to place this. I'm have some major issues with my Lenovo y40-80 laptop. It has both intel integrated graphics and a AMD M275X. I'm using Radeon Software Version 19.2.1 as the current AMD driver. The issue I'm having is Radeon is not detecting most programs to allow me to set them to use the AMD GPU vrs the default intel one. Even when I add programs manually in the Radeon software some of them don't run on the proper GPU. The vast majority of programs I run don't show under the running applications window in Radeon. Right now I've been trying to get Elder Scrolls Online to run on AMD. It's shows in Radeon as a game. But I getting pretty terrible frames and was able to confirm through task manager that it has only been running on GPU-0 which is intel on my machine. Anyone have a suggestions or have had similar issues?

Hey! I currently have internet, but here is the deal... My DSL cable is wired with wires, there are no ethernet jacks/outlets. 2 wires that are (Orange/white and Orange) are connected to the phone cable(Green and Red) which is on one end wired with the DSL cable that comes from the pole outside and on the other side there is an RJ45 connector that goes into the router. I want to get rid of that phone cable and extend the DSL wire with new UDP ethernet cable which needs to have only an RJ45 connector that will go into the router. Meaning I only need to cut one side out. But my main concern is that the Green and Red wires of the phone(Cat 3) cable are in the middle of the RJ45 connector. Will there be some problem if I just twist same colors of the DSL cable and the new UDP cable? Since the wiring order for the CAT 5 cable is different and it has more wires. I hope this isn't confusing and gave it my best in describing the situation of my problem Thanks in advance!

Long story short: I got this Frigidaire Retro Mini Fridge that only holds 6 normal sized cans of soda, but is rather portable. I got it last year during a Black Friday sale and it's been pretty good to me... until the cooling fan died. I tore it apart and discovered it's made with some pretty simple components. I've always wanted to get into hobby electronics and I think this would be a good start. I don't want to just replace the fan, I want to upgrade the machine so it gets colder. Is there anyone who can help me, or at least point me to some good resources so I can learn by myself? Long story long: This is a relatively simple machine. It's small, compact, lightweight, comes with a handle for easy carrying, and even has a port for a cigarette lighter in a car. This thing is made to run off of 12v car batteries, so again, a pretty simple machine. Here are the internal components themselves in their entirety: The fridge contains 3 main things: A 3cm square Peltier cooling unit (left) An 8x8x2cm fan (upper center) A circuit board with a whack ton of heatsinks and capacitors. (right) I didn't know about Peltier cooling units when I opened this thing up, and I thought that little white square was black magic. Coincidentally enough, Linus Tech Tips uploaded a video where they used Peltier's to cool a PC, to some degree. Basically they move electrons from one side of the unit to the other. Moving the energy away from one side causes that side to get cold and the other side to get hot. While it's not great for large scale cooling, it's great for small scale applications like this. The fridge actually gets decently cold too. Of course, as you can see the Peltier unit is connected to a FAT heatsink (2 actually, the second isn't pictured but it's a solid 3.6x.3.6x2cm metal block and the unit is sandwiched between them) and on the other side of that heatsink is the fan, which of course points to the back of the fridge. To my understanding, if I wanted to upgrade the cooling capacity of this fridge, I would need either a bigger or more powerful Peltier unit, or maybe give the current one more power, of course I would need a bigger fan to carry more heat, and then maybe remove something from the circuit board so that it can run more power (because the units themselves need more power, otherwise I'm just throttling everything and ruining the point). Again, that is MY understanding of what I would need to do to upgrade this thing, but I am NOT a professional, and I don't know much about electronics, especially custom stuff like this. That's why I turned to the forums. If I were to try and go at this, I'm thinking best case scenario I get no perceptible difference in temperature, most likely scenario I would brick the fridge and have to throw it out, worst case scenario I burn my house down. I want as much help as people are willing to give me because I wanna make sure I get this right.

I was just about to order the MSI A88xm gaming motherboard on Newegg when the purchase icon was replaced by an "out of stock and we most likely won't restock ever " message . So I looked on a bunch of other websites, and the only website I could find that has this specific motherboard was eBay (NEVER TRUST EBAY) Are there any other reliable scammer-free websites that offer the MSI A88xm Gaming motherboard? PLZ HALP( P.S the exact motherboard is pictured below)

Hi, I need help picking a new GPU setup for general gaming and VR. I have a Gtx 970 atm but I want to upgrade What should I do? Here are some of the options I'm considering. -Buying another 970 and putting it in SLI -Selling my 970 and getting 2 AMD RX 480 in crossfire -or also selling my 970 and getting a higher end single GPU like the 1070/1080 With VR in mind Which of these is a better option especially considering selling my 970 is a real hassle?

I need a cable to connect a psu 8 pin to a pcie 6 pin. I could use a psu 8 pin to pcie 6+2 pin but I would need the 2 pin part and I don't know if that would be a problem. Any suggestions? To clarify the 8 pin is connected to my psu and I need a 6 pin to plug into my graphics card so I need an 8 pin to 6 pin.

My client has wanted me to do this project for a while now, and I've continuously failed to get anywhere with this project. He wanted a camera set up on the east coast, that he could monitor from anywhere using his computer. I found a Foscam camera (The FI9900P) that seemed to satisfy his needs. Sadly, WiFi was not an option, so I looked into a mobile hotspot. The only option on the market that supported port forwarding was the Netgear Aircard Zing, which I got on eBay. What I had in mind was to: Forward a port on the hotspot set to the camera's IP address Connect the camera to the hotspot Set the system up in the designated area and be able to check on the camera whenever. So far I have successfully gotten the hotspot device activated and tested the network, along with using the camera itself on my home network, which is not port forwarded. My problem is within getting the camera connected to the hotspot network, as it never works, and I have to reset the camera each time I attempt. This overly-simplified idea evidently didn't work, and I've been struggling to figure out a solution to this problem for months. My client is astonishingly patient, but I need to get this done soon and I'd be extremely appreciative if someone could give me some guidance as to how I can achieve this. Thank you.

Okay so first, here are my specs: Core i5 4460 with stock cooler Asus DCUIII R9 390 Strix Wd Blue 1TB Adata SP900 128gb (What I think might be causing the problem) TPlink WDN4800 wireless card Asus z97- A/usb 3.1 EVGA 600B PSU Okay with that out of the way, let me talk about the problem I'm having. Last night I shut my computer off at eleven and also turned the power supply off. The next morning (today) I tried turning my PC on and this is what happened. I pressed the power button (obviously lol) and the system triggered the monitor to turn on, but shortly sent no input and caused the monitor to say "no input detected." No windows loading, no mobo splashcreen, nada. Before this, my computer had repaired my C: drive several times, causing me to think something had corrupted it. However if this was the case, I'd at least be seeing a motherboard splashcreen and an option to go into my bios. so that's probably not it. I'm not sure what is causing this problem, but my best guess would be that it's my graphics card. I've had trouble with previous (there were some awful unfixed and known issues with my 290 Tri-X's drivers that i bought only 3 months ago) AMD cards but I'm an idiot and bought another because it was a way better deal than a 970. If someone has an idea, it would be much appreciated you could give me a little bit of your time to help.
