Hi, I have a Chromecast Ultra and I have an HP Envy 27s 4k monitor that I want to connect my Chromecast to. The only issue is that the monitor doesn't have built in speakers or a headphone jack output. What options do I have if I want audio? Is there any way I can buy like a smart soundbar or Bluetooth soundbar and connect my Chromecast ultra to that? Or use my google home mini to have the audio come out of there? Looking for any tips or suggestions on how I can get audio out of my Chromecast Ultra. Thanks,

So my Contract with at&t expires around may 5th, and I'm dying to get rid of my Samsung S5 that i had to downgrade to when my HTC One M9's batter dropped to about one hour of casual use before it dies in December. USA resident, So Dollar pricing and availability Things I'm looking for HEADPHONE JACK The main reason I dont even consider the HTC 11/U/whatever its called now, as I've mainly had HTC phones since 2010 dating back to the inspire (I really like thier metal phones) Good camera, both front and back. The S5 has a SHIT front facing camera but the back is worlds better than my newer M9, but the M9's front cam was at last clear and not grainy or washed out! Storage. I have a 64GB SD card which I'm not going to miss if the phone doesnt have upgradable storage, but in that case at least a 64gb/128 prefered optioned is needed. Less important I used to love the idea of front facing speakers but its no longer a must have. Good amount of Ram, the S5 only has 2GB and bogs down after about 5 apps and i have to kill all apps, though i dont see this as an issue since most have 4+ (some have 8) Price. I make decent money so I'm not worried about spending $700 (it will probably be bundled with a new contract though so it wont be an upfront cost) Network availability. Again I might switch to something like Verizon but it would be good to note if certain phones only worked on certain networks. Finger print scanners/ face recognition. These are cool but not needs. 1920x1080 is totally fine with me, but its a bonus if it can display 1440p AMOLED? It's definitely brighter than the old screen on the M9 but I could easily do without it if i had to. Wireless charging would be fricking awesome but theyre not all the same from my understanding. I might put more emphasis on it if I had a Dark Base 900 computer tower though Battery doesn't need to be extravagantly large. 3500+ would be satisfactory, no less than 3000 Would prefer it to be newer, Otherwise I'd proabbly be going with something like the S7 or HTC 10 Phones kinda on my radar Samsung s8 (obviously) Google Pixel (I think the 2 is coming out in july and I dont really want to wait that long unless people think its REALLY worth it) Asus (they have like one or two new phones?) LG G6 (again I think thats the new one?) OnePlus3? Or whatever its called, though theyre gonna also release the OnePlus 4(5?) I know theres a bunch of other smaller names that are releasing phones that I'm just not aware of at this time. Thank you in advance! Sorry it's kinda long.

A small company by the name of daptr is launching two dual lightning/3.5mm jack cases this year. One that adds some considerable length to the phone but no extra thickness, and a battery case that doesn't add any additional length but more thickness & bulk. Personally I think this is fantastic product since the case will both protect your phone as well as eliminate the need to worry about any stupid dongles, connecting with Bluetooth etc. I'd love to pick one up but I would like to see how this campaign fares after a couple weeks first, what do you guys think? Hey guys, I tried plugging my headphones in my case, but the sound was really bad, so I tried plugging other ones in, but the sound was always bad. Now I tried plugging my amplifier in and suddenly the sound was really great. Are my headphones just really bad, or is it a problem with the case? PS: The Headphones actually work really great with my mobile device

The current trend in the world of smartphones seems to be to remove the headphone jack from the phones in order to save precious space on the chassis. The question is, does the removal of the headphone jack make a smartphone less convenient to use on a daily basis? Or the headphone jack is not something essential and we can live with dongles and adapters? IMO, this seems to be a dumb idea to me, I use and care for the headphone jack all the time when I'm working out, on a bus, or even walking down a street. Removing it and charging anywhere between $9 and $20 (ouch!) for an adapter that I will definitely lose is not forward thinking, that's just weird. I thought advancement in technology is supposed to make our life easier and less stressful, not more inconvenient. BTW, all friendly discussions are welcomed.

Not sure if this should be in the news section or just the phone section. So here it is for now. The man behind the Youtube channel, Strang Parts, has just released a video with his journey on attempting and succeeding on modding a headphone jack back into the iPhone 7. The whole start to finish experience I would say it pretty awe inspiring in seeing one person with an idea go through the steps of R&D to a near finished product that works. Even with Apples craze in trying to make phones needless thin for no good reason this guy managed to fit in a headphone mod. So enjoy those who watch this and end up watching his other stuff like I am now as I type this.

I just finished my build and I decided to Skype a friend from it. Thats when i resized that the computer wasn't detecting that I had a headphone / mic headset plugged into the headphone jack. I could hear audio but It didn't detect a mic. I am used to using a laptop witch had a headphone/ mic jack but i didn't think this would cause any problems. the front I/o on my case has a mic port but my headset only has one prong. This is frustrating because I dont have a USB headset and I have no mic otherwise.

So recently, I have been having some major issues with my PC and my HyperX Cloud Revolver Headset. Both microphone ports have stopped working (front audio and the 6 panel on the motherboard). I have tried removing my mic from my headset and plugging it directly in, re-installing realtek drivers, re-installing windows, testing the headset on another computer (which it worked perfectly on), and trying another headset on my PC. None of these apart from using my headset in another computer have been successful. I have been left to wonder what the hell is going on with my computer and I would appreciate any help.

So, I was sitting here tonight on my fairly new PC watching some YouTube. My headphones have an extra long cable. I am not exactly sure what happened but it yanked out with a pretty heavy tug, and when I plugged the headphones back in, I got only one channel of audio. I thought "Oh, great. Now my studio headphone cable is ruined (it's detachable). I decided to make sure of this by plugging into my iPad, and it registered fine both channels working. I noticed the headphone jack on my PC has no "click" and just slips in. I assume I did something to it. Is there any way this can be resolved without having to use the back panel audio, which is annoying to get to since I have a full tower, or sending it to Phanteks. The case is Phanteks Enthoo Pro.

Just got an old hp pavilion 500-123w up and running, replaced hdd with an ssd. The audio works fine but the port on the front has some feedback. I installed the drivers and stuff, I opened the Case and all the connections are snug, am I possibly getting some interference on the front port? Thank you very much for any replies or suggestions

I have recently moved my desktop PC to where I live during university term time, and I was checking everything is alright after re-assembling it ( since it shipped ot piece by piece) and noticed that when I plugged in my earphones into the front panel audio jack I hear electrical background noise. Plugging the earphone into the back audio jack made the sound dissappear. I took a lool at the audio cable and it seems tp be alright. I am attaching a photo of my front panel PCB, the audio cable is in the middle. I did some research online and some people have this problem because the USB front panel cable causes interference. I plugged out the front panel USB cable out of the motherboard and reareanged the audio cable so it is as far way from other cables as possible and the noise was still there. Also, the noise only appears after the Windows logo dissappears at startup. The noise can not be heard during POST or while in BIOS. So it seems it might be a driver problem as well? The sound is most noticeable with mt earphons. If i plug in my Logitech G430 headphons the sound is barely audible. The thing is, I can hear a very similar sound out of my speakers if press my ear against them. Could this be just because of the electrical power grid being different? The PC and speakers are plugged in a Europlug socket extension lead which is plugged into a Europlug to Type G UK plug adaptor. I do not remember having this problem before, as I usually plug my headphones into a USB port with the surround sound adaptor they have. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate Edition and my motherboard is an Asrock Z77 Extreme4.

I just bought a new laptop ( HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0012nm, specs on the bottom ). I installed Windows 10 and used "Driver Easy" to install all the drivers. After i noticed that when i plugged in my headphones that the sound would be playing on the headphones and on the laptop speakers. First i thought that maybe i didnt plug them in all the way, but that wasnt the issue. When i go to the "playback devices" it doesnt show my headphones, just the speakers ( yet it still plays the sound on both at the same time). I deleted and reinstalled the drivers a LOT of times, without any results. I tried going to HP's site to download the drivers directly but when i tried to install them that way it would give me an error "Error Code: -0001" ( ill add a photo of it).When i use the Windows troubleshooting it says it found a problem "Generic Audio Driver", but it doesnt fix it. BUT when i connect my bluetooth headphones it works "normaly". By normaly i mean the speakers dont play at the same time, but in "playback devices" i have 2 things for my headphones: Stereo and Hands-Free ( Stereo sounds ok but is disabled until i enable them ( have to do it every time i connect them) and the Hands-Free has GOD AWFUL quality of sound). But this issue might be due to the headphones being very cheap chinese headphones. I have no idea what to do anymore, its driving me crazy. You are my last hope!!! specs: i5 8250U, 8GB RAM, GTX1050, 128GB m.2, 1TB HDD (dont this can help but just in case its here xD)

i have samsung s5 neo and my microphone in headphnes doesnt work when i plug it in my samsung s5 neo and when i am putting a headphone jack it is kind of hard to put in(when i wanted to put it the first time and it had to put much more force than i'm comfortable) sorry for my bad english

I just want to know if it has a headphone jack because I wanna be able to use it with my laptop and my Xbox.

hello, so i have a logitech g433 headset that has a splitter (came with the headphones) so i can have a mic and headphone output. I need to connect it to my lenovo c330 chromebook since my pc doest have a webcam. it only has one headphone jack so i took a headphone jack to usb converter that came with the headphones to try and connect it to my chromebook with the mic cable in the chromebook. my headphones worked but not the mic. the mic and the headphones worked on my pc. Also, the mic didnt work at all on the chromebook do you know a cable that would solve this problem. is it a problem with my chromebook? thanks. feel free to ask me to clarify. Thanks!

I want to plug in my headphones to my monitor instead of my computer because there is a special feature i wish to use but i want to control the sound using my keyboard not the volume control on my monitor is this possible and if so can someone help me. I am also using a laptop connected from a Display Port to USB-C The monitor is the Samsung CFG70 1080p 144hz
