I'm trying to decide between getting a good gaming headset vs a quality studio grade one , I've read lots of reviews and this what it came down to : - pros for hyperx : pretty good built in mic , wireless, supports DTS and probably has better sound positioning , will be used without a AMP/DAC - Pros for Beyerdynamic : Detachable cabel , probably a better sounding headset in terms of sound quality (better bass , more neutral sounding ) , maybe a better cup material (velvet)? - they are both closed back which is probably what I need to Block the noisy laptop fans + noise coming from outside - the mic isn't a must have but is a really nice + , as I could use my laptop's built in mic What's really making me hesitant is that a lot of reviews talk about the DT 770 having a firmer grip on the head for a better seal , but that makes them get warmer even in a relatively short time ( most people say an hour ) lots of reviews say they are perfect for short bursty usage , while the hyperx ones are supposedly more comfortable for long gaming sessions There's also the ongoing problem with hyperx firmware ( check the pinned post in the subreddit ) that's bricking the headsets when they connect to pc and have the ngenuity software open

I'm looking into getting a pair of headphones I can use to listen to music and game with on the side. I want over-ear headphones and closed back ones since I want to be able to use them in shared spaces. I have done a little bit of searching and these (https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=29514) seem well recommended and well suited to my use case. Does that sound right, or would a different headset in a similar price range be more appropriate. On top of that, would these headphones require an external amplifier or DAC to work well?

Hi, I'm looking for headphones that are a set of 2 pieces that each has a ear-hook and no hard band to connect them (like those in the picture). However, I'd like it to survive for more than 10 days, so a cheap 3$ set is out of the question. It's for a normie friend that like this kind of thing, but I just care too much for said friend to buy garbage. So in essence, I need to respectable version of these: Any ideas? (thanks)

I bought this headset about a month ago and the first day i tried it, it sounds just like what i recorded. Then the next day the noise decreased and my friends in discord said my voice is ok already. And then today suddenly it starts to sound like this again and idk what went wrong. When i tried to record myself in the g hub, it sounds ok with the high voice soft preset. I can still hear the noise but its really suppressed. But when i test it in discord, i can clearly hear the noise like my recording. And if i use the low voice soft preset in g hub, it sounds bad too. I've been using low soft preset all these times because if i use high voice soft, my voice in discord is cut, like, when i say 5 words my friends only heard 3 words, i say a 5 alphabet word and they only hear from the third alphabet, and i didnt even enable the noise reduction in discord setting. so i use the low soft preset because it catches my voice more. But then i got problem with this noise. Anyone know what could cause this and how to fix it? 2021-10-28 21-59-59.mp4

Hello, I am interested in buying a good pair of headphones as most of my life I’ve been using really bad/cheap ones that break really quick and don’t sound good. A bit ago my cousin purchased me a decent pair of headphones that had amazing sound, after around 2 years unfortunately they broke. Budget: around 80-100$. Over-ear headset No mic I like bass in my sound. ——>DETACHABLE CABLE <—— Thank you!

So I got the Sony WH-1000XM4 recently. One of the features is multipoint where you can connect teo different devices at once. I was disappointed to find out that did not mean I could hear my pc game and phone youtube/music at once. (Although I suspected that would be the case). Now am well aware that you can get a mixer to achieve this but mixers are wired. What I'm wondering is are there any Wireless Bluetooth headphones that allow for two different Bluetooth connections that I can listen to at the same time. If not, are there any (realitvly affordable) mixers that can have Bluetooth headphones connect to them to hear the mixer output. Or prehaps some sort of software solution. I know this is a little weird but it's a feature I've wanted on headphones for a LONG time. So thanks for any advice.

Hi and thank you for clicking on my topic. I know this question is asked a lot here, but i still need to ask it again. My budget is 100-120(max) $ and from my research i have narrowed down these headsets: Razer BlackShark V2 Logitech G PRO X Logitech G433 ( i checked rtings for reviews and somehow the G433 is better than Razer ) I am inclined to buy the Razer ones, but i am absolutely open to your advices.

so my headset (a jbl quantum 100) has a single connector (4 pinouts), yet my pc has two front panel jacks so i use a splitter to connect them. they work great yet the only issue is that my microphone picks up all the internal audio, meaning that either when im speaking or not it still picks up everything that i can hear and inputs it into the microphone. in addition to that stereo doesnt work. when id try to record audio or talk with friends on discord and have a song / video playing in the background theyd be able to hear it. same thing with games ive tried way too many solutions already yet none of them work: using the back panel connectors, updating my drivers (still not working with the 2021 realtek drivers, downloaded from my motherboard's support site), disabling / enabling features in the sound settings (muting my microphone, enabling "listen to this device", etc), installing and changing settings in the realtek audio console (downloaded from microsoft store) and possibly even more. everything ive tried led me to no difference and im both confused and frustrated. ive been aware of this issue for a few months now while i was experiencing it on a different pc, but this is a fairly new one that was built a month ago and i cant figure out whats causing it, though im certain its software related. ive been using my headset as my macbook's ouput and input source and it worked amazingly (with stereo, unsurpsisingly, which is again something that i cant resolve on my one month old build) motherboard is a gigabyte b660m gaming x ddr4, os is windows 10 build 19044.1889 any sort of assitance will be appreciated. thanks in advance

Quick specs of my PC (just built it a week ago): Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 CPU: Intel i7 12700K GPU: RTX 3080 12GB Monitor: LG 27GN 950-B (connected through 1.4DSC Display port cable) Case: NZXT H710 PSU: Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold OS: Windows 11 Pro (OS build 22000.778) I have some average USB headphones (MSI DS502) and on my old computer they worked fine connected to the back motherboard based USB port, on my new PC however, I connect them to the front USB because it's easier and makes the cable more manageable. The problem is that for some reason and so far happens completely at random (haven't been able to re-create the problem) the headphones just suddenly stop working and not only that anything that outputs sound (videos, youtube or games) stops working all together, for example, I was in a game one time and this issue happened and the game completely froze and wouldn't keep going until I unplugged the cable from the front port then the game started running again but without sound and when I plugged it back again the sound came back after a couple of seconds. Like I said so far it's completely at random when this issue happens, it's not based on time because I had happen twice within an hour but sometimes I could go on for almost a day without issue. I tried going into the device manger and disabling and re-enabling the USB headphones when the problem occurs but that did nothing. So far only way to fix it is to unplug it and re-plug it again. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hey probably been asked 100 times but I trust you lot, I'm gonna get some beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro or Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X, any recommendation on an AMP to get the most out of them, will only be for listing to YT 99% of the time but might make them my gaming set for the small amount I do. Based in the UK BTW

Had a pair of Beats Studio 3. I was taking them off, and the plastic head piece snapped above the hinge. I took it to Apple, and they wanted to charge me more than the headphones are worth (by the way, this was a clear manufacturing defect, and the headphones are still in the warranty period) for a $20 repair! This is absolutely absurd. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Apple refusing to honor the 1 year limited warranty? Let me know, and does anyone know a good way to go about getting them repaired? Thanks!

Upgrading my headset from steelseries siberia v3. I have thought of many options, Soundcore space Q45, Hyperx Flight S, Hyperx cloud alpha. Will mostly use it for gaming and listening to music on my pc. It can be wired if it has better qualities for a much cheaper price. (It being wireless isn't the most important tbh, but since my wireless earbuds are also quite old now, I thought why not make a combined purchase) I have also thought about getting the mic and headphones separately, but feel that might be a bit over my budget. (if you have any suggestions, please give them, even if their over my budget) All suggestions and help will be much appreciated. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

James mentioned that the app is optional for the Sennheiser featured on ShortCircuit during the CES. Is there any similar devices besides this? For context, this is for an elderly gentleman who is easily startled by loud, unexpected environmental noise. And while he works in the IT industry himself, he's a very infrequent user of—and loathes using—phones, smart or not (ringtones and notifications also count towards unexpected noise). So for his purposes, it needs to be an ANC devices but without any separate device/app required for operation. It doesn't necessarily have to be in-ear; I just want to know what kind of options are available specifically for noise suppression, rather than any sort of playback.

I just bought Logitech G432 headphones, coming from 8 years old G430 and I bought them because I loved the microphone passthrough on G430 without any delay, but I can't find a way to turn it on here. 1. Windows "listen to this device" is garbage 2. Logitech G Hub does not seem to have any passthrough option So, is there a way to turn microphone pass through on G432 or no. If there is none do you guys know any headphones that have microphone passthrough or maybe there is a software that does passthrouhg better then Windows?

headphoes Need some advice on great quality COMFORTABLE headphones.

Hello Everyone. When it comes to headphones I always prioritize audio quality and with each model I buy I tend to increase the quality, therefore the price. Unfortunately I'm currently in a quite peculiar situation, therefore in need of your help. Because of some pain I'm dealing with in my jaw/ears area, for the first time in my life, I'm in need of some especially comfortable headphones, specifically some that don't press that hardly on my temples. Of course I'd treat this as an investment, therefore I'm increasing my budget and I'm interested in something that would sound better than the Audio Technica ATH-M40x I currently have (which I love, quality wise, but are too uncomfortable for my condition). These are the features I'm after: Budget 150-250 USD Main use, listening of music (especially progressive rock and ethereal music); gaming is absolutely secondary and should not be considered for the choice of headphones. Decent treble response (of course I'd like some decent base, but I feel some models sacrifice treble too much in favoure of bass only) Have to be particularly comfortable, specifically they have to not press too hard on my temples and generally the side of my head (the size of the headpones doesn't matter as they don't need to be portable and will only be used at home) Have to work decently without any additional preamp Noice cancelling or other things aren't needed, as they will only be used at home. Have to be of reat sounding quality; I'm no audio professional but I developed an ear for decent audio quality and most of my library is in .wav .flac, .m4a and other almost-lossless formats. Once again I have to stress again that the phones have to not press to hard on my jaw and to the side of my head Thank you very, very much! -
Hey everyone; I'm looking for a pair of headphone I can use for gaming and music and what nots. I am interned in wireless headphone but if writhed is recommended then that's cool. I am using boss sport for my outdoor earbuds. The kind of music i'm into is nightcore, rap, rock; So a good amount of bass with nightcore for myself. I like to play game like DOOM, total war, halo and stuff. My budget is 500 for a pair of headphone, I can't go any higher then that besides taxes of course and I'm using hyper clouds II right now and they be dying. Please keep in mind that my pricing is the Canadian dollar witch is bad. my budget is $500

I was considering GSP 301SENNHEISER, HyperX Cloud Alpha, ARCTIS 7 but im down to get anything. I just want the best sounding headphones, can be wireless or not. Thanks for any help!! I used to have sennheiser hdr 180 for a long time and I loved them, and i also have sennheiser HD 4.50 for music (got them at 50%), so im kinda going in the direction of sennheiser but I want to see what other headphones are out there but I have no experience with other brands.

I have been using a set Chinese knock-off speaker (which are actually good) and a Bluetooth headphones but recently I bought wired headphones (which are also Chinese knock-off) and I can't seem to choose from which I want to the audio to play from my speakers are connected on the rear of my PC and headphones at the front with a 3.5mm splitter and I have to disconnect the headphones every time I want to use the speakers which is annoying. not using any soundcard or anything just an audio enhancer software called "fxsound" and I have tried the Realtek HD audio manager it did allowed me to use them separately and worked perfectly but only on the speaker but not in the headphones the audio wasn't clear? In the screenshot, both the headphones and the speakers are connected but the audio is only coming from headphones and if I have to use the speakers I have physically disconnect the headphones and I want to be able to select the audio device through my computer.

Hello everyone, A week ago I bought a new rig with a new mobo, Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X. Since then Ive been hearing buzzing that is very quiet but noticeablen and annoying af. My outlet is not grounded but I didnt experience anything like this with my previous pc. Now the interesting part, the buzzing changes pitch and intensity depending on what Im doing. Everytime I launch a program it stops for a second or two, running stress test makes it silent. I have to mention that after turning on my pc the buzzing starts exactly when the logging to your account appears. Im sure its not my headphones I tried it with different ones. Will a cheap soundcard help with that, maybe UPS? I need your help. Thank you all for replies

Hello. I have dac DragonFly Black (like fiio e10k Olympus 2, can drive 250ohm). I will probably use Brainwavz earpads microsuede (big ears..). Looking for very good open headphones for fortnite (please, keep your head cool) in this game details, soundstage and positioning is very important, much more than in any other game, because there can be 30-50 people in very very small area, and they can be much higher, lower, next to you, and there a lot of different sounds.. Im trying to go competetive, so I want very good/best for my purpose. I have 220$ budget. I will use them ONLY for gaming. Micro isint nessecary at all. I was thinking about ad700x, K7xx, hd598 and DT990 250 Ohm, but dt990 won't have too much bass because of a lot of shots from shotguns? I can consider other recommendations! Thanks for every answer!

I'm looking to upgrade from the M40X, and was wondering which would be a worthwhile upgrade. I have a budget of around $150 (converted, I'm not from the US) is there anything around that budget which would be a good upgrade from the M40X. Though I'm not necessarily looking for closed back headphones. I was initially looking at the DT770/880/990s, then someone recommended the Custom One Pros, though the Beyers are a little out of budget. Also considered upgrading my dac/amp instead if there aren't any worthwhile upgrades within my budget. Side note: Is it still worth getting the SHP9500 if I already have the M40X since I don't have an open back, or something like the MH751/MH752 as a sidegrade?

I've searched high and low on the internet and can't quite find the answer it seems anywhere. I suppose that's because I'm looking for a headset that is capable of doing a lot of different things at the same time. Instead of having multiple headsets for different tasks, I'd like to find a headset that will handle everything I need. As far as what that Includes: * 70% of the time Headset will be used for gaming. I'm not exactly sure quite what that entails as far as sound goes and to be fair if this was the only thing I was looking for, then there are plenty of resources online for me to find. I primarily am concerned with playing on the PC and PS4. 7.1 surround would be nice here as well. * 25% of the time Headset will be used to listen to music. I just love to sit back, start-up Spotify and enjoy my tunes. This is going to sound corny, but when I listen to music with the right equalizer settings (use Equalizer APO) it's almost rejuvenating to the soul. No joke; the first time I listened to music with some equalizer setting, I almost teared up. Yeah, I'm a dork. Regardless, my point is that I want a headset that will handle music well. Don't ask me exactly what does that, because I don't quite understand but I leave that to you guys. * This is the tricky one; 5% of the time I'm using the music to work out and I use my android phone for this. This is where the real hang-up is for as I have the hardest time to find one that of the above headset that will do it all. Principally, I need a noise-canceling headset (to help focus but also drown out the garbage music they are playing on the background. I'm from the South, and it seems all they play is country). On the gaming side of things, it needs to be a headset that has either a retractable or detachable headphone. And the really tricky part; preferably wireless. It's not so big a deal if I'm on the treadmill but when doing weight having a wired headset things become more awkward. Oh and one that I can make to not drop off when I'm doing sit-ups (though on this one it's not as big a deal... I have a workaround for this. Something I've not found anywhere is a headset that has a detachable wire. Not a huge deal, but as I understand wireless doesn't have as good audio as a wired so there's that. Needless to say, I'm asking for a lot to be in one headset, and am looking for one headset to take the role of two or headsets so I'm expecting to pay a premium to handle all the given tasks (I'd, of course, prefer to find one under $200, but if there's a hand's down better one in the 300$ range I'm willing to go there). And keep in mind, I understand that the likelihood of finding the best headset for gaming AND music AND workout is an impossible task. But if I can just get good in the three categories then I'd just be happy about that. If I had to say which one is a priority than it is the music as I feel that's where the greater disparity in headsets that can be found.

Hello everyone! Am I the only one who has noticed that the headphones one side is looser and one side is nicely adjustable. Its so annoying to adjust that one side, every time I want to put them on... Is that on purpose or what?
