I was using an adapter from VGA to hdmi and my monitor was switched to HDTV now I can't change that or at least I don't know how to do it. my monitors are a lg 22mp55 and 22mp57 . The mp57 I tested with a vga connection and work flawlessly since I switched to the adapter from vga to hdmi it installed a sort of driver and it started to detected as a TV. Now I'm using a dedicated HDMI cable (no adapter) and at least is not switching randomly like before but it still has a wrong configuration for example in overwatch I'm set to use 70 fps when the monitor has a maximum of 60fps and it's taking a bad configuration cuz it reminds to be detected as a tv. Hope it is at least clear the way I explained. Any question for more info please ask.

I have an older Ceton InfiniTV PCIe TV tuner card and I'd like to use it in my Windows 10 PC alongside my dual tuner ATSC PCIe card. I have the cablecard from Comcast/Xfinity (or at least the one they gave me a few years ago) and I have the ATSC card already working in ArcSoft TotalMedia 3.5. Both cards are installed with drivers and Device Manager has them installed and correctly identified. Admittedly, I am mystified by the setup process for XBMC, which I'm guessing is what I'll need to slog through in order to get this working. Windows Media Center's absence in Win10 is a real pain in the ass for me. TotalMedia doesn't recognise the cablecard card, and I'd like to be able to get all the channels I can across the 2 ATSC, and (supposedly) 4 HD cable tuners in the Ceton card as I can. Anyone got ideas or help??

Hi. So, I am currently using this monitor as my TV https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072M34RQC/ and I love it as a display. It's a nice size, and has IPS so I don't get glare when the sun is behind my window, but it's not perfect. It doesn't send the right info for audio on some of the things I hook up to it, and I have to go into the settings menu to change the volume. I decided to try checking Amazon to see if there are any HDTVs like it, and found very few HDTVs that were less then 24 inches, and only one still selling at 22 inches. Right now I feel like anything above 26 inches is taking up space I don't have or want to give to a TV, and I can't seem to find any HDTVs with IPS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPS_panel So I was wondering if y'all know of any.

so I have come back to pc gaming after a long time away and my current system has a gtx 1060 6b. I am currently gaming on a HDTV which is about 10 years old now. i will be sticking to 1080p gaming for the next while until i can afford a 1070 and move up to 1440p, but am wondering if investing in a good monitor is worth it now. given the age of my hdtv will a gaming monitor for 1080p gaming be visually that much different. i understand input lag would be much smaller, but i dont do multiplayer much so not sure how important that is for me.

Hey guys, I'm new around these parts, but I thought I would drop on by to ask for some recommendations and some help. I'm currently looking at getting a new TV for my bedroom. The room is quite small so I have decided on settling for a 40-42 inch display. I've actually made some to scale cut-outs of different size 16:9 TVs and pinned them to the wall (I plan on wall mounting) to help me in that decision lol. This range seems just about perfect for me. Anyways, I'm having a hard time in finding the 'perfect' display for my needs. The ideal display I'm looking for should have these specs: - 40-42 inch panel - 1080p - IPS/good viewing angles - 60 or 120hz (120 native would be great) - good color accuracy - minimal ghosting - 2+ HDMI ports and 1+ USB ports - price tag less than $500 The TV definitely does not need to be "smart". Actually, I would prefer if it wasn't. I have a PC that I could just connect to it to give it that functionality, and more. Such a thing would seem like a gimmick to me. I'll be using the display for both TV watching and as a monitor when I feel like browsing the web or gaming on a bigger screen. My current monitor is only 24", so that would be a nice change-up. So, does anyone know of any such displays that match my preferences? I've only been looking around for a day so I don't have much to report. It seems rather hard to find what I'm looking for at this point. I really don't even know where I should be looking yet as far as decent reviews are concerned, to be honest. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The connection loss happens within one minute (sometimes in less than 10 seconds) of having started up a game from the game's menu. I play with my desktop connected to an HDTV. One second the game is playing fine and then in a split second my TV's display shows "No Signal." I've tried switching between the HDMI ports of my GPU and motherboard with no effect. Switching my TV's input to television shows and then back to the HDMI will sometimes show a "Detect HDMI Signal" notification, then "Retrieving Data," but then ultimately regressing back to "No Signal." Even though the signal with the TV is lost, the PC itself remains on and seems to continue running fine before I manually shut it down. In testing, < 1min signal loss has happened three times with Dark Souls 2: SotFS via Steam and once with Witcher 3 via GOG Galaxy. For some reason, Dark Souls 1 via Steam seems to be able to run without signal lost (ran game for approx 5 mins before I quit). I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling AMD drivers but the issue was still there. Specs: -Win 7 64bit -Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz -ZFX R9 280X -8 GB RAM -CX600M Power Supply -H97M Pro4 Motherboard HDTV is a VIZIO E320-A1 32-inch 720p 60Hz LED HDTV

This might be a really stupid question, not really sure. My mother is looking to buy a laptop and from my understanding, having a nice GPU doesn't really affect your capability to watch videos. She wants to plug her laptop into an HDTV via HDMI cable and watch movies, however, if the laptop is running at a resolution less than 1080p, I'm wondering if it will be able to process the video in 1080p quality when plugged into the TV with bottom line, entry level, integrated laptop graphics. Would you need the laptop to natively run at 1080 or can any old laptop with Intel integrated HD graphics run videos at 1080p on a different display? Thanks guys.

Good grief that's a cheap 55" 4K TV today on NewEgg's eBay store page. Is it high quality? Probably not, but $590 is a decent enough price for a 1080p 55-inch TV let alone a 4K. NewEgg charges $900 on their own retail website for this same model. Changhong UD55YC5500UA 55-inch 4K HDTV — $589.99 (list $1,400) 2160p Ultra Display 4 HDMI Inputs Free Shipping (in the US)

So a currently have an Acer P244w 24" monitor, and have since started using my 5 year old 40" hdtv as my display solution due to space constraints. I am getting more space soon, so I will be able to set my desk up, but when I started looking at displays, I found myself looking at HDTVs instead of traditional monitors - I could get a very affordable 50" 60hz 1080p LED TV from newegg for $399 and continue to use it as my display, or was looking into new monitors to use on my desk, but my Acer is already 24", which I read is the best size for 1080p, but im not having any issues with using my TV at the moment (has been almost a year since using my monitor though). I usually some simulation games, some FPS shooters (dayz, arma2/3), and Elder Scrolls online, and I find the viewing experience on the TV satisfactory. Since I already have a 24" monitor, would it be worth it to get a 27" monitor opposed to a 50" LED hdtv? What are your thoughts on using a HDTV as a display solution for gaming? p.s. - running AMD FX 6300 with 2x GTX 770 in SLI

So I probably just fell in love with the GTX 980 and once again I find myself at this dilemma. The machine I'm building will be hooked up to a 1080p HDTV. So it will be stuck at 1920x1080 at 60Hz. (building the family Steambox) I want something power efficient and able to run anything at the best settings (and enhancements for older games and emulation). But I fear that something as powerful as the 980, or even the 780Ti, would just have too much of the GPU going to waste. I'd love to hear some thoughts on this scenario. I'm left wondering if a GTX 780 might be the most suitable option given this setup.

Hey guys, my boss has a large collection of DVD's that he's spent a long time ripping onto a NAS. He has ripped them using programs such as DVDFab and ripped them in the complete dvd structure in Video_TS folders. He would like to watch this content on his HDTV in his living room. He does NOT want to use an HTPC in the living room, so please do not suggest this solution (And yes, I know it'd work). Also something like a raspberry pi would also not work. What kind of set-top media players support this functionality? Wifi enabled is preferable but not strictly necessary. I know that XBMC via a HTPC can support this - can anyone confirm that the Android XBMC set-top players can also support this? I ordered him a WD Live TV unit, but he (irrationally) thinks the unit is cheap and low quality because "it's small". He has the view that a larger/bulkier/heavier device is generally better. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Hi guys, Long time listener first time poster. My roommate has a LG tv and we've been trying to hook up our MacBooks to no avail. The tv shows no signal but does show the hdmi input as active when I go to switch inputs. I sometimes get a black flash on my macbook screen when plugging it in which seems to change my laptop screen's resolution preferences but doesn't register on the tv. I also have clicked "detect displays" in system preferences with no luck. I have tried both an hdmi to mini-displayport adapter and a mini-displayport to hdmi cable, neither work. I have done a PRAM reset also with no success. I am open to suggestions, thanks in advance.

Hi guys I've recently been thinking about buying a monitor for my PC and have my current tv put on the wall, then having the monitor underneath. Could anybody recommend me some good monitors that aren't expensive, I live in the UK so it would be alot more useful if I could get prices from places within the UK. I'm an open book at the minute, but would like to pay around the £100, I would be willing to go upto £120 but the cheaper the better Thanks!!
