Hi, I'm looking for best 1366 CPU, which will work ideal with HD7870 2GB. Any ideas? I'm gonna use it in Dell T3500, so Overclocking is disabled and I have to work on stock clocks. hi everyone, i have an issue with my hd 7870 from sapphire: after many tests i found out that the max clock speed i can reach while being stable is 1170Mhz on the core and 1440Mhz on the memory. everything is great except for the fact that when i open xbox dvr (the bar you can open by pressing the xbox button on the xbox controller) my clock speeds go back to stock (1000-1200). i need xbox dvr for recording and it's the only software that doesn't make my game lag (except for relive but since i got windows 10 it won't instal for god knows what reason). i then tried using the unofficial overclocking mode in msi afterburner and i managed to keep my clock speeds with xbox dvr open... BUT now the gpu is way more unstable (i can barely keep 1100Mhz on core without crashing) and it weirdly makes the software that is using the gpu crash instead of the gpu itself. is there a way to keep my clock speeds while using xbox dvr and without using unofficial overclocking mode? (cause i'd rather not overclock if it is so unstable) thanks in advance

Hi, Thanks in advance for reading. So I have an external GPU connected to my laptop via a PCI-E extender, an AMD HD7870 but sometimes when I leave the pc idle the screen turns black and my GPU fan ramps to 100% and wont stop until I reboot the pc. It's very random because sometimes it goes days without freezing or black screening I can leave it idle for hours but sometimes I don't touch the mouse for 1 second and boom, crash. Any help would be appreciated and I can explain in further detail if necessary. Thanks!! -Snieky

Hello. I have a Sapphire HD 7870 2GB and I want to upgrade. My budget is around 250 euros. My first choice was a 1060 3GB but everyone suggests a 6GB instead. The cheapest option in my country is a Palit 1060 6GB StormX but I am not sure if it is a reliable model. On the other hand, many games that I like are AMD optimized and the cheapest 570 is an XFX 570 4GB but I don't think it competes with a 6 gb 1060.What should I do? Maybe wait a bit?System:Windows 8.1HD 7870 2GB8 GB RAMIntel i5-6600PSU XFX TS 550W1680x1050 screen (I know... Thats a reason I am also considering a 1050 ti) Any opinion appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, here is my problem. I got a used Gigabyte HD 7870 http://www.gigabyte.us/Graphics-Card/GV-R787OC-2GD#ov and want to upgrade my sisters PC with it. The card works just fine in my own system but in her's I just get a mobo post code for no display signal. She currently has a Medion GTX 550 ti pulled from a prebuilt PC and it works fine. Her specs are: i5 2500k MSI Z77A-GD65 https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z77AGD65.html 6GB noname 1333mhz RAM from the same prebuilt PC Medion GTX 550 ti Be quiet Pure Power 10 500w CM https://www.bequiet.com/de/powersupply/934 some harddrive with Windows 10 When I put the 7870 in her PC and start it up everything that glows spins or rattles, starts to glow, spin and rattle but I just get the Code 97 from the mobo and I don't get a displaysignal, when I try plugging the display cable into the mobo to check if it goes for the iGPU, nothing either. I've checked for proper placement in the pcie slot, checked power cables, display cables, deleted everything Nvidia using DDU and I still get nothing and I don't really know what to do beyond this. If anyone has dealt with this card, mobo or problem before or has any insight or solution for this I would be glad to hear it, thank you for your time Just in case it matters, the monitors are plugged in via HDMI and VGA on the Nvidia, the 7870 doesn't have VGA so I'm using a VGA-miniDP adapter.

My pc is: A10 7700k Motherboard MSI A68HM-E33 V2(With te latest bios update 2018-11-02) 8gb Ram ddr3 1Tb hdd "800w" Generic Power Supply(But this is not the problem) XFX HD 7870 (With the latest vBios update) Windows 7 64 bit The graphics card works perfect with the Microsoft drivers. But when i try to install the AMD drivers the screen turns black. And i have to enter safe mode to uninstall them. I have been trying a lot of diferents drivers but no one works. What can i do? I think the GPU isn`t the problem because this problem is really common. Im desesperate, i have been trying for three days straight. I tried using Windows 10 and Windows 7, installing the drivers by the device manager but nothing works. I tried with another motherboard too and it`s the same.

Hi everyone i own an hd 7870 by sapphire (dual-x) and i have a dual monitor setup (1280x1024 via dvi-i and 1920x1080 via dvi-d adapted to vga) when i try to overclock my gpu i get a weird flickering issue on the second screen (1920x1080). i looked on the specs and it says the max resolution it can run is 2560x1600 (which i still don't reach in terms of pixels rendered). i've been fighting against this problem for a long time and i recently noticed something: when the screen flickers the gpu clock and memory clock start jumping between 400 and 150Mhz, but when the clocks are stable at the overclocked value (1150mhz core and 1400mhz memory) there is no flickering (which explains why i never get this issue while playing games). so what i think would solve this issue is to be able to lock the frequencies at the desired ammount. is there a way to do that without modding the gpu bios? msi afterburner's unofficial overclock settings (with and without powerplay) either lock my clock speeds at 150Mhz (without going up in games so they run at 3 fps) or they crash my computer as soon as i hit apply. i tried with the overdrive settings in the gpu driver but it behaves just like afterburner with the official overclock settings

As in the description i have been running a r9 270x in crossfire with my hd7870 for almost a year now and i haven't had many issues. i have the 7870 set up as the second card and have since i got the 270x. today i installed msi after burner a program i have used before but not since it was updated to what it is now, after installing my second card stopped working. if i try to run heaven i get 9-10 fps where i was getting close to 60 with the settings i have. if i disable crossfire and just use the 270x it works fine. i have tried disabling and rebooting and then re-enabling it and restarting again. i uninstalled afterburner and it still did not work. i am at a loss here and could use some help if you guys have any ideas i would appreciate it.

Hi, My HD 7870 GHz 2GB from Gigabyte cannot run on its stock speeds (Core clock 1100Mhz). I have to underclock it to 1050Mhz in order to run benchmarks and games. When running at stock, it will crash and blue screen and then automatically restart. I am already running my GPU at +20% Power Limit on MSI Afterburner. Can anyone help me to run this at stock and possibly even overclock it a bit? Here are my specs: CPU: INTEL i7 3770 MOTHERBOARD: ASUS H77 RAM: 16GB STORAGE: 256GB SSD + 2TB HDD GPU: HD 7870 GHz 2GB PSU: Corsair CX500M CASE: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 CPU COOLER: Corsair H80i

Hey there, I want a small upgrade for my rig, but I'm not sure how to do it. And because of that I have a few questions about crossfire and I hope you can answer them! 1. I own this Card: http://www.ebay.de/itm/XFX-ATI-Radeon-HD-7870-2048-MB-FX-787A-CDFC-Grafikkarte-/221691392267?pt=DE_Elektronik_Computer_Computer_Graphikkarten&hash=item339dd6310b could I use this card for crossfire? http://www.ebay.de/itm/XFX-ATI-Radeon-HD-7870-2048-MB-FX-787A-CN-Grafikkarte-/151598323692?pt=DE_Elektronik_Computer_Computer_Graphikkarten&hash=item234bf6d7ec 2. Could I use cards from other manufacturer? (ASUS / Gigabyte) 3. Is it worth it? Whats your opinion?' Thanks! - Lukas

Hey, I want to upgrade my HD 7770 and I have a budget of 200€. I have seen a few, but I'm not sure what's better: Sapphire HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB - http://www.pixmania.pt/placa-grafica/sapphire-technology-radeon-hd-7870-ghz-edition-2-gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-11199-16-20g/20902832-a.html Gigabyte GTX 660 OC 2GB - http://www.pixmania.pt/placa-grafica/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-660-oc-2-gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-gv-n660oc-2gd/18493522-a.html Sapphire R9 270X OC with boost 2GB - http://www.pixmania.pt/placa-grafica/sapphire-technology-r9-270x-oc-com-boost-2-gb-gddr5-pci-express-placa-grafica/21776043-a.html Feel free to recommend another one, even if it goes a bit higher than 200€ (230€ or something), thanks! PS: My CPU is an AMD FX-6300 and I have 8GB of RAM.

Hey guys, Next month i'll add a card in my case... But for now on I don't know which one to choose ... I have this card : http://www.materiel.net/carte-graphique/sapphire-radeon-hd-7870-oc-2-go-76769.html And I would add a 270(http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00157795.html) or 270x(http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00154992.html). I looked at some review of both cards and the difference is very small.... Knowing that in a cf the frequence will lower to be equal to the slowest one I don't know what to choose ... Thanks

AMD Dual Graphics is a feature that allows the user to utilize both a dedicated graphics card along with their integrated GPU in order to gain higher frame rates. However AMD notes that the user shouldn't "unbalance" the two GPUs with the dedicated graphics card should be roughly on par with the performance on the iGPU, for the AMD A8-5600K they suggest the use of a HD6670 which is an entry level card. Despite this I wondered whether or not using a higher end graphics card would gain any performance when running a dual graphics set up or whether or not it is better to disable and ignore this feature. Test Setup: We will be running a series of games and popular benchmarks. The games include ones that are developed with the help of either Nvidia and AMD as well as other popular game titles. All games will be run at max settings using the latest 13.11 Beta Drivers (22/11). The iGPU will be sharing 768 Mb of the 2 GB of GDDR5 Memory on the HD7870, this is the amount of memory that is allocated by default. Results: The first benchmark we'll be looking at will be 3D Mark Vantage Run on Performance Preset: Note: the way Excel scales the graph is misleading, when we run dual graphics we only see a slight 70 more Vantage points. Now the rest of the benchmark results. As mentioned before all the following games and benches will be run at max settings at 1920x1080 using the latest Catalyst Beta Drivers. Looking at the results for the synthetic Unigine benchmarks there is virtually no difference between the two. When it comes to games the performance difference is also negligible, with only a slight performance gain on some titles, while others stay the same and some titles such as Assassin's Creed 4 and LoL actually run marginally worse. Overall when you take into account fluctuations there is no difference in performance when you're running dual graphics or a single upper mid range card. Conclusion: Looking at these results AMD Dual Graphics with an upper mid range card yields no benefits, and when I was doing the benchmarks I did notice minute amounts of screen tearing occurring when I was running dual graphics. When you take into account the negligible difference in performance for the best gaming experience there is no point in enabling dual graphics if you have a decent GPU, however other sites have shown that the slightly lower end HD7770 will see a slight 5-10% performance gain, however when running a dual graphics set up there is more screen tearing which can lead to an even worse gaming experience which I also suffered when running dual graphics. In conclusion the current generation of dual graphics should only be used with a low end graphics card, however in the future with the introduction of Kaveri which will have an iGPU the equivalent to a HD7770 upper mid range cards might gain a noticeable improvement. TL:DR JUST DON'T! Wait for next generation APUs before going Dual Graphics with anything higher than a HD7750.

So for the past couple of weeks i've been trying to configure my new gaming pc. For the most part this has gone well, but i have run into a little bit of a predicament. I simply cannot choose which cpu to go with, but i've narrowed it down to 2. a haswell 4770K or a ivy-bridge 3770K. i know that the haswell takes less power but generates more heat, and the ivy-bridge requires more power but overclocks better. the other thing that makes it hard is that on microcenter.com there only like $30 appart. so if anyone could help me i would gladly appreciate it. P.S.: I do plan on overclocking the cpu. Here are the builds.
