Does anyone have a go to for cheap tubing? Cheap fittings? Cheap hardline shaping tools? Cheap GPU blocks? All of the above? Background, I'm tracking a decent deal on a used workstation (everything but GPU) at the top end of my budget, issue is, it's also currently hardlined with a custom reservoir. It's gorgeous, but I was planning on softlining my build to save money. The seller has only the CPU in the cooling loop, I need to cool 2 GPUs (or technically 3 GPUs) coming in at 405watts together & I'm afraid that I'll have to jury rig & try air cooling the GPUs while my CPU is ice cold while I'm trying to save up for more tubing, fittings, another large rad, & proper waterblocks. Remaining budget: <2000usd Currently have 1 gpu for build Seller asking price:2400 (still needs Waterblock for GPU, tubing, fittings, accelerator card & cooling solution for it)

Good Day, What's out there for Quick Disconnect fittings, and what do I need to look for when shopping around? I'm familiar with their use in hydraulic applications, but I've never worked with them in a water cooling loop before. My second question is the same, but for Distribution Plates/Blocks/Manifolds. I've been looking into distro plates, but there aren't many options available for the case I'm building the loop in (the Enthoo Elite). I've never used a distro plate before, and don't know how they'd mount to the case, much less how to assess their compatibility. Thanks for your time, Matthew B

I'm having problems with petg tubing. It seems that after a few months of use (or less) the heat and pressure from the fittings deforms the petg tubing enough that it no longer provides a tight seal. The first picture (please excuse the dust) is the original setup. This was fine for for ~5 months normal operation before it started to leak. Because I didn't have a bunch more tubing lying around, I made some 'barbs'. I used this for 5 days before i noticed that some air getting into the system. The petg tubing once again shrunk and created a leak path. You can clearly see where the 2 o-rings where sitting on the petg. The last photo has a comparison of the homemade barb from the gpu fitting compared to the one from the cpu. Gpu temps typically don't go above 60'C under heavy load. I'm interested to know what other people are having a similar experience with petg.

I am worried that my choice of black fittings will clash with the white shrouds on the radiators i am using. Not those radiators in the picks, that was a previous idea that will be moved to another one of my comps. I'm going with a ice magey look on my comp and i don't know about the black fittings, i don't want blue. What do you think? Am i over thinking it and being weird? It just makes me think of a checker pattern for some reason, i hate checker patterns.

so my pc is almost done now, it's so close, but there's one thing im missing and that's some sick custom water cooling loop. but I've hit a problem in that I don't like the looks of any water cooling blocks out there there aren't as many with led's in them and they just don't look as pretty as the Kraken x62 so as you guessed now im looking at replacing the stock black tubing with hardline stuff for all of that sex appeal; I know there are fittings that can go from soft to the hardline tubing so that should be pretty straight forward all id need to do is: . anchor the fittings down to something so they don't move from the soft tubing that'll be feft. . and then I feel like I heard somewhere that is is a big no no to have you're pump and the highest point of the build, this true? . and to find a suitable score of luck to be able to pull this off has anyone done this? and does this just sound like a terrible idea? and yes before anybody asks this will be my first shot at custom water cooling, and yes I am throwing myself into the deep end with hard tubing alone, but im vain and I won't have it if doesn't look perfect so yeh.

I just finished upgrading my pc from an old quad core i7 4790k at 4Ghz running with DDR3 at 1866Mhz, she got the job done over the many years but was starting to get quite slow so i finally decided that an upgrade was due. The old parts: Intel - i7 4790k Gigabyte - GA Z97X SLI Gaming Corsair - Vengeance Pro 16Gb at 1866Mhz (2x8) Thermaltake - Core P5 The new parts: Intel - i7 8700k Asus - ROG Strix Z370-F Gaming (Non-Wifi) Corsair - Vengeance Pro RGB 16Gb at 3000Mhz Phanteks - Evolv X Heres a list of the full specs: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/ExtreamChaozZ/saved/mz7sYJ I was plannig to OC my old build hence the "K" series but never got round to it and i didnt really know what i was doing, but for this build i went out of my way to ensure she was OC. I wanted a nice 5Ghz but was in the mid 90's at 100% load which i didn't like so i dropped her back to 4.8Ghz and now she sits around 80 to 85 max. While Idle im getting around 35 to 40, at first i thought that was too hot for idle but after some research i found out that other people have the same temperature and that the 8700k is just a hot chip. I got her to a 5Ghz on turbo though which was good enough for me. I still havent 100% completed the build but im like 95% there. Just need to make my custom cables now and i will probably invest in a 1Tb SSD and a 4Tb HDD to replace my current storage, except for my M.2. This was my first time bending PETG tubing and after getting the feel for it im really happy with the results, there are some imperfections which i notice but can only be seen if your actively looking for them under a bright light. I also intend to change the fans to the Corsair LL120 RGB fans so i can sync them up with iCue as well, but the pocket is running a little dry at the moment. I also decided to invest in a closed case as i was getting tired of cleaning my system of dust all the time, and so after a long time of looking around i finally decided on the Phanteks Evolv X. If you have the £200 quick to spend on your case then i highly recommend this case or any of the Phanteks cases, as they are extremely nice to build in and have all the bells and whistles you could need or room to add more. The only criticism i have about this case is how the SSD's are mounted, it can feel like your putting a lot of stress on the SATA cables but there is enough room there and everything closes nicely as it should. Before doing the upgrade i decided to run Cinebench to see what my score was. The i7 4790K got a wooping 797 points while the upgraded system scored just over double that at 1601. I got a screenshot of the new score but forgot to get a screenshot of the old one. Still need a name for her but cant think of anything unique, so if you have any ideas let me know. Now enough with the chit chat, heres what she looks like when booted up along side the Cinebench score.

Im planing to custom hard cool my pc (cpu+gpu) but im completly fresh in that regard never did it but wanna challenge myselfe to achive liquid cooling on my own! I already have 2 options for the reservouir: https://shop.bitspower.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=7163&search=lian+li+o11 https://de.aliexpress.com/item/BYKSKI-Acryl-Wasserstra-e-Bord-L-sung-verwenden-f-r-LIAN-LI-O11-Dynamische-Fall-f/32895346334.html?spm=a2g0x.search0604.3.17.612b6cbebRFcW3&transAbTest=ae803_3&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0%2Csearchweb201602_9_10065_10068_10547_319_317_10548_10696_10084_453_10083_454_10618_10304_10307_10820_10821_537_10302_536_10902_10843_10059_10884_10887_321_322_10103%2Csearchweb201603_16%2CppcSwitch_0&algo_pvid=cd56f8c4-32f6-4be0-bcfc-8264503c48d4&algo_expid=cd56f8c4-32f6-4be0-bcfc-8264503c48d4-1 its a custom one from bitspower even has a drainvalve(but im gonna use 2 360 rads so it would block that so its not that important i think right?) My next thing is 2X360 radiators im gonna use but i want some in white but havent found good ones (only noname Rads) want standard 3cm thicc ones!( another question i dont have long screws for the fans to sew in to the rad! do i have to buy all screws seperatly? and if yes what are they called?) My fans are 6 white ll 120s! The next thing is a gpu block and i think im gonna use one from EK! My next is the cpu block and i think of using this: https://www.voelkner.de/products/1045225/Thermaltake-Wasserkuehlung-Chipkuehler-Pacific-W4-RGB.html?ref=17&utm_source=geizhals&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=X587231 but i found on ali express some nice byski or barrow looking blocks ( is bysky and barrow good brands?) this is the ones i found: https://de.aliexpress.com/store/product/Barrowch-FBLTFHI-04N-For-Intel-Lga115X-2011-X99-X299-CPU-Water-Blocks-Digital-Display-Temperature-Microwaterway/431286_32841605570.html?spm=a2g1y.promotion-20181111.promotePruductList_43774017.4 https://de.aliexpress.com/store/product/Bykski-CPU-XPR-A-MC-V2-For-Intel-Lga115x-2011-CPU-Water-Blocks-RBW-Lighting-System/431286_32918719813.html?spm=a2g0x.12010612.8148356.1.209b5e1cDrBfw2 and all these are copper! is copper good? next is something i have absolutly no clue is the fittings and co but that i will do in another post vas i already have enough questions here!

Introduction It's time for another custom Liquid Cooled build, and this time we are utilizing the MASSIVE Thermaltake Tower 900 case! This is a commissioned build, using some extreme hardware, and I am really excited to get started. Will feature dual liquid loops, one for the i9-7980 Extreme CPU, and the other cooling 2x Nvidia Titan X Pascals in SLI. We will incorporate a little bit of acrylic work to clean things up, along with some painting, and RGB lighting. Take a look at all the components below to see just how impressive (and powerful) this build will be when completed. I present Project Ecthelion! Hi all! I hope that this year has been great to all of you thus far? I was asked by Cooler Master South Africa to complete a case mod on the new MasterCase Maker 5 chassis for the rAge expo this year in October in Johannesburg, this is a large computer and gaming expo here in South Africa, and I have to say that this is an amazing opportunity. So without further delay, let the modding begin! The day I received the chassis:

Hi guys, I'm still new here so sorry if this is a repost. I did some surfing on the web, but didn't find much on normal fluid temps and I'm quite concerned about my fluid temps. So I just got my first watercooling loop set up. It's a very aesthetically focused build, so theres a lot of stuff that may seem useless (particularly RAM Blocks) .Idle temps sat around 40°C for CPU and 34°C for both GPU's. After setting up the system and enabling SLI, I decided to run a stress test to see how temps behaved, and so I ran both Prime95 and FURMark together, and I saw temps go to around 57°C on the CPU and 66°C on GPU's. When I touched the tubing, it was very warm, to the point I was afraid the fittings would burst from the pressure (I have a automatic pressure-release valve coming in the mail), so I pull the plug before anything bad happened (Yes, it was stupid to do it without everything I needed, and I stupidly sealed the loop completely shut without a pressure-release port). I then drained some of the water and immediately the coke bottle I drained it into started fogging up. Is this normal? Thanks and enjoy the pics below! If you didn't read above, heres the Spec List: EK Supremacy EVO CPU Block (i7 5930K) EK VGA Supremacy Universal VGA x2 (980ti x2) EK Monarch X4 RAM Block (8 DIMMS) Alphacool NexXxoS 480mm (UT60mm thick) Distilled Water + Silver Coil PS: I haven't tried a custom fan PWM fan curve yet, as I don't feel like risking anything until I get my auto-pressure-release valve (Incase I decide to do something stupid again). Is this something that higher fan speeds can solve? PS2: If you want a guide on how to mod the reference cooler into a water-cooler, feel free to ask and I can make a separate post.
