I brought My PC on the 1st of January 2020. However, since then, I wasn't really able to play games properly on the pc due to some problems recently. I have started playing heavy games on my pc and have noticed severe lag (I have posted a video exhibiting the lag). Link:- GPU usage fluctuating. - YouTube The problem is that in new games(by new i mean like from 2015-2019) such as forza horizon 4, there are frametime spikes the Frametime just goes to like 100ms or higher and then there is fps lag moreover the GPU usage also fluctuate you can see the video above to see this does not happen in old games like Ac black flag etc, but the new games like AC origins Mountblade 2 banner lord etc., there is so much lag making it unplayable my PC even meet the basic requirement to run these games, and I have watched YouTubers playing these games on same specs I have run GPU benchmarks such as furmark and heaven benchmark they result show its ok run the CPU (intel processor diagnostic tool) test that also say its ok Run the ram test also, shows that ram is ok MY PC SPECS ARE:- CPU - I7 3770S GPU- RX 580 HDD- 500GB (Games are running from HDD) SSD- 128GB (OPERATING SYSTEM IS ON SSD) Mobo- H61 Dual slot with USB 3.0 (but it is not connected Ram - 8GB (4x2) Power supply- 500W (sorry Idk the brand) THINGS I HAVE TRIED Reinstalling the windows Updating the drivers ( i deleted them also, then reinstalled them) I watched every video on the internet and tried what they said, yet of no use Changed Power Supply also

I recently built my own pc where I changed every single component expect for the hard drive. I used to have a prebuilt and I didn't want to lose all of my storage and pay money for a new storage device. So I decided to carry it over. It worked perfectly fine but the hard drive has many issues. It constantly reaches 100%, is overall very slow and is just unusable. I want to purchase a 970 evo and get rid of my harddrive. I want to completely reinstall windows and just throw away my other harddrive including all of its storage. (Also, if I can, how can I completely wipe that harddrive and could I be able to use it as extra storage) My question is, how do I install windows on that new ssd and get rid of that harddrive, while keeping my windows license? I don't know what I should do in the bios, what I should do before hand. What do I do with the usb drive I have seen so many videos talking about? I just know very little in regards to storage devices. My specs: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max Ryan 5 3600 2060 Super (I don't know the harddrive, I just know its from Toshiba)

I wonder if they are worth it because Austin says "you can't live without it" kinda thing. Only problem is my country sells them at around $100 for a 120GB SSD and over $200 for a 500GB SSD. A WD 1 TB HDD costs like $78! I am from NZ btw. Right next to Australia on the map!

Good afternoon folks, I have a security system on my property and want to add a 6tb storage to it. I am looking at either the 6tb Western Digital Purple drive or the 6tb Seagate Skyhawk. Both are similar in price and I thought I would ask if anyone has any recommendations one way or the other or if it is best just to get whatever is cheapest. The only requirement is a sata connection and both have it. Thank you for any and all advice.

This is not the first time this has happened, it happened not even a month ago, the PC just crashes with a blue screen and it says that message. When it automatically restarts it just crashes again. For some reason i was able to get into the OS by just going in the BIOS and exiting it. When I get into the OS I get spammed with errors that say "The instruction at 0x00000006EDFC00 referenced memory at 0x00000004EDF5C00. The memory could not be writted. Click OK to terminate the program" and the box is WerFault.exe - Application error I talked to a microsoft support rep and they tried having be boot to lgkc and it said critical process died with a blue screen then we tried to use recovery mode and it blue screen crashed again. Then we tried to re install windows, it crashed again, Nothing is working. He said he could not help me anymore. He thinks it is a problem on my SSD where windows is installed. It is a 256gb 850 evo. I also have a 2TB WD Black. Is there ANY way to just completely wipe the hard drives clean so only the BIOS will be there. That is the only option I can see left that might work. I believe he had me try something that gave me the option to keep my files or to not. We tried both and both gave me a blue screen saying critical process died.I should note that this happened after I reinstalled overwatch, played it for a bit and then closed it.both times it happened I believe. Please help.I should also add the pc is brand new just built it 2 months ago. Since I'm relatively new to the PC World, I'm not sure if I need an Immediate replacement to this Toshiba HDD after getting this S.M.A.R.T. "warning" results. I did research about this issue and the very little information I found resorted on completely getting a new HDD. I would like to get more opinions if it's true since this is only a 5 month HDD.

I'm hearing a lot of negative stuff about Toshiba hard drives. I am using two Toshiba 1TB hard drives on my PC and my dad is using a Toshiba 1TB hard drive on his. Now, he is a lawyer and all his documents are really important for him. Are these hard drives really that bad?

A Seagate hard drive says "dell" on it, does it matter?
AyaanAhmad posted a topic in Storage Devices
I found a drive on eBay and I was thinking of buying it. it's a "dell" drive that was manufactured by Seagate. I was wondering if this drive would act differently from a normal Seagate drive. if it helps, the seller listed the drive as "Seagate ST8000NM0055 8TB 256MB 3.5" SATA 6GB/s 7200RPM DELL PN 0T05HP"- 4 replies

So I'm running out of room on my 1TB hard drive and I wish to move all the data from that drive to a new 4TB drive. The data that is on the 1TB drive I want to move is mostly just steam games and saves along with other programs. My OS is on a different drive so I won't be moving that. Would I be able to copy and paste from the 1TB to the new drive or is there a different way of transferring without corrupting data? Thank you. Please only respond if you know what you're talking about.

Not too sure if this is meant to be here since its more of a modification than a new build but whatever... I recently got ahold of a 1TB SSD and am planning on putting it in my computer, the downside being I only have space for two drives and it currently has a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD in it. So my options are: 1TB SSD (OS), 1TB HDD OR 256GB SSD (OS), 1TB SSD And I will be putting the remaining drive in my nas... Right now i'm leaning towards the second option but I'm interested as to what others think so yea, what's your opinion?

Hi I am looking to build up a good video editing machine that will provide a few good years of service with the ability to upgrade in the future. I have pulled together the following spec and am now trying to finalise the build and get going. Essentially I use Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator with Premiere Pro my main focus. I want the PC to also have plenty of storage to host video and photo file and provide quick access to a library of content via Adobe Bridge. So down to the questions: 1. Is this a good spec or are there other motherboard, processor graphics cards I should consider? Especially those certified by Adobe? 2. How should I configure the storage? currently I am thinking...SSD 256 for operating system, SSD 512 for projects I am working on and the 2TB WDs in a RAID 1 configuration for archived content? 3. Do I need a RAID Card? 4. How many Harddrives / SSDs can i fit into this case and is there and ideal configuration for editing - Ive read that three disks is good 1. operation/program file 2. Cache 3. So, I want to clone my laptop hard drive and want to put it in a ssd. I heard that it is not possible to clone hard drives anymore in Windows 10. Is that true? If so, is there anyways around it. P.S. I saw JayzTwocents clone a Windows 10 hard drive. Did he do something other than clone it? His Windows still works and there is no authentication problem.

Hey guys, thanks for clicking on the thread, I'm going to try make this as short as possible without missing out on important detail. Ok, so I've been having some problematic issues with my PC for some time now, I've decided that It's time I do a fresh install of Windows 7 on my Gaming Rig, and at the same time install a fresh new Solid State Drive, so I plan to have the OS installed on that. I have two hard drives, a 1 TB WD Blue, and another 500 GB hard drive, which of I'm not too sure the manufacturer of. So here's what I plan on doing, I just want someone to tell me if any of these steps are wrong, or should be done in a different order because I'm not too good with this type of stuff, and still relevantly new. Step 1: Remove both HDD's from computer, place them aside for later, afterwards replace the SSD with my main C: Drive, ( 1 TB WD Blue ). Step 2: Turn on PC, place in the copy of Windows 7 and boot the PC from the disc, download Windows 7 and install all updates, and drivers. Step 3: Turn off PC and place in the other HDD's, boot from the SSD and move over all necessary/important files over to SSD, and format old drive. I'm a little worried I may be doing something wrong, and I'm also clueless on how to name the drives to what I want them to be, all in all though, should this give me the conclusion that I want? ( Windows 7 installed on my ssd with all my important files included, and a formatted WD Drive). I'm sorry, I could not find anywhere better to place this, I just wanted to be safe than sorry later onwards! Thanks all, I appreciate all the help.

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm looking for a way to use my Operating System HDD as well as at home as well at school. But using it at school would mean that I can't just open up the PC and put my HDD in there. So, is there a good way to use a 3,5" or a 2,5" HDD externally, without losing too much performance? Thanks in advance!
