So I got a new mobo, it's the Asus Rog Strix b550-f gaming, and I wanted to turn on the DOCP profile for my ram Corsair Vengeance Pro (2x8) 3200mhz. Everything went good, I booted in to windows11, I ran benchmarks using AIDA64 and everything seemed alright, until I launch a game and play it for a bit, then it just hard freezes, no blue screen, no black screen, couldn't move mouse, keyboard not working etc. yet the leds were still on. On different games it's different, but usually around 5 mins after launching. I'm pretty sure the ram is not the problem because it was working great on my old aorus mobo. I even ran the memtest84 and no errors showed. Everything works fine with the DOCP turned off but it's not the same. Specs: Mobo: Asus Rog Strix b550-f gaming ( I have the newest bios version) Cpu: r5 5600x Ram: 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz Gpu: asus dual rtx 3060 Psu: 600w 80+Bronze (maybe upgrading soon) Also idk if I should be worried, but my 5V sensor is showing the voltage in red sometimes when it's under 4.5V (it's under that voltage when I turn the DOCP profile on)

Hi, I've recently had an issue with my pc crashing come back after a few months of being okay. While playing ARK: Survival Evolved, i can play for around 10-20 min before freezing. When it freezes I am unable to Alt+Tab CTRL+ALT+DEL or anything like that. I use 2 monitors and whatever is on the other monitor also freezes. This came back after turning up my graphics settings (was previously using an ini to reduce quality for high fps in pvp). I have made no hardware changes at all. I have had temps on my other monitor when it crashes and temps on cpu and gpu do not exceed 70 degrees celcius. I have updated every driver I could find an update for (none were available). I have checked RAM and my SSD with memtest and chckdsk (cant really remember what they are called). Physically checked seating of gpu, RAM, cpu and every connector and I have not been able to find anything wrong there. There is nothing in event viewer other than error saying pc was not restarted correctly because the only way to get my pc working again is with the reset button. Reliability history gave the same result. I haven't overclocked my CPU or GPU and haven't messed around with anything in the bios. I have tried playing with only 1 monitor, I have tried going down to 60hz from 144hz. I have tried it with no other programs running in the background and still get the same problem. Would appreciate any help anyone could provide before I am forced to go buy a prebuild so I dont have to diagnose the 'one of a kind' pc issues again. Realised I had not enabled the XMP profile on the RAM after the 3rd or 4th crash so I tried that and ran into the exact same issue.

So, I've just built my first i7 system and in some 3D applications the system completely freezes. i7-7700k @ stock 4.2Ghz cooled by a Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate Also tested with i3-6100 with stock cooler. 16GB(8x2) G.Skill TridentZ DDR4 3200Mhz RAM (RMA'd then ran 10 passes of memtest86 with no errors) AsRock Z270 Extreme4 Mobo (Replaced already) Bios v1.30 Asus RX470 4GB Strix OC Windows 10 Pro 64bit EVGA Supernova 750 G2 I've ran memtest86 on the RAM and it passed, tested the GPU and PSU on my older A10-7870k and they ran fine, RMA'd the mobo, and tested the CPU on Intel's diagnostic tool and passed. Example of what I mean by some is I can't run Overwatch, Fallout 4, and CS:GO without a complete system freeze but played NFS(2015) fine as well as Forza Horizon 3 and Firestrike.

I started overclocking my “Just for fun” 5yo side-project yesterday and was met with more problems than expected… I still don’t know exactly what has been going wrong. Specs: ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX FX-9590 Corsair H110i GTX 280 (set to 100% fan curve 24/7) R9 390X Tri-X 20GB G.SKILL DDR3-1600 EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W 80+ Gold Expected result: stable 5.1Ghz overclock on 8 cores @1.5V-ish (I know that this is too high, but it was what was recommended) Attempt #1 through 3: Overclocking attempt 1 was a step-by-step direct copy of the settings recommended in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSj-nkrApC8&list=PLTyBHto3aSGN8yImkKp3udf2hHnLbK60f CPU Ratio: 24.5 CPU Bus Frequency: 208 AMD Turbo Core Technology: Disabled CPU offset voltage: 0.100000 Extreme OV: Allowed (*WASN’T ABLE TO FIND THIS ONE IN MY BIOS*) Spread Spectrum: Disabled (cause why not) AMD Cool n’ Quiet: Disabled Fan CTRL setting: Turbo Results: after pressing F10 to save settings and reset, the PC failed to post, and none of my displays were able to recognize it as an input (or received input) and continued running for about 30 minutes, until I decided to shut it off and start over… It once again failed to post. I then had to clear the RTC RAM using the jumper on my board, and then it posted fine. The next attempt (#2), I checked over the settings and made sure to correct anything anything that didn’t seem right and got another failure to post. Attempt #3: I then tried my own settings (@1.45V) which seemed slightly more reasonable, and I got the same problem. Attempt #4: I enabled Overclock Tuning (auto overclocking?) which went for like 5.3Ghz first try which booted fine and then (for whatever reason) wasn’t holding the overclock (even shooting down to 2.5Ghz !!!) then hard froze after running Cinebench R15 for about 5 seconds. Attempt #5: After heading back to the BIOS it then changed to a 5.146Ghz target frequency (from roughly 5.3Ghz), and I also realized that it enabled AMD Turbo Core technology by default which I disabled after I noticed it, and tried again. It booted fine, but still couldn’t hold even 5.09Ghz (which is the highest I saw it go) and once again shot down to around 2.5Ghz (jolting from 4.9Ghz down to 3.4, then 2.7, then 2.5). I can genuinely say that I DON’T THINK IT WAS THERMAL THROTTLING as it never read above 50C in the MSI Afterburner/Riva Tuner OSD or in Corsairs Software… I am still extremely overwhelmed and confused by these results… does anybody know what's going on or available to help? I would still like to overclock if possible, and I’m willing to try any recommendations given. Is it just not allowing Extreme OverVolting? This “just for fun” side project has been a real pain in the ass.

So previously I made a thread about my computer freezing. I essentially said it's been freezing for a while and I'm finally getting a chance to work on fixing it. What's essentially happening is that randomly my computer will completely hard freeze. This means I can't alt tab, control alt delete, nothing. I know it's a hard freeze because even my keyboard won't respond say if I press numlock or caps lock. Anyways these freezes will happen for the most part random. I can be away while nothing's going on and it freezes or I can be alt tabbing. Though I did notice that when I do certain actions like alt tab, open a new window etc etc it would freeze more often. Anyway I did simple stress tests on my GPU and CPU which both came clean and I believe that and I kept knocking things off my list. I looked to update my bios, though it turned out I had the latest version so I flashed it for a clean run. I cleaned my CMOS and did some ram tests. I ran memtest on one stick of ram each for the last two nights and they both came up with 6 passes completely clean. I figured no big deal I'll just root the problem out by leaving a stick in and seeing if my computer freezes. Well I did this and nothing happened. When a stick is all on it's own my pc doesn't freeze(yet). So far I ran 1 day on one stick, each, and nothing happened. Is it possible that the freezing is occurring because I'm running two sticks at once (which are identical)? Is it just luck? I'm also using the same slots they were in as well. So one stick has only been using the slot it's normally in as with the other. Anyone have any suggestions at all or should I just keep running my pc with a single stick for a while to see if it freezes or not? Now while I'll accept all the help I can get, but please don't give any information based on a whim or if you aren't familiar with this kind of troubleshooting. I know it's not a GPU issue and I know it's not because my "custom loop is leaking on your ram since water cooling is bad for computers". Trust me, I already got the beyond stupid answers from mentioning my issue on reddit. Thank you all! TLDR; getting hard freezes, most likely a ram issue though each stick comes back with 6 passes on memtest clean. PC doesn't freeze when only one stick is in the machine doesn't matter what stick or slot. If you really want to be a true help read the whole paragraph please. Hey all. I built this computer around November and I'm finally getting around to fix this issue. The computer tends to randomly hard freeze in which I need to press the restart or off button to fix it. When the computer freezes, nothing at all works including the light on my keyboard trying to put on caps locks, alt tabbing, ctr alt deleting, nothing. Now I did CPU testing, GPU testing, and some memtest and nothing came back wrong(though it was only about 45 mins of memtest). I have no idea how to fix this problem as I can't find the route of the issue. I tried updating my bios, but it was pointless as it was fully updated already so I'm really at a loss. Now while it can randomly freeze, I notice more-often-than-not it freezes when I do a certain action like alt tabbing or trying to open up a new window or game.My specs are the following Asus x99-a/usb3.1 MOBO Intel I7 5820k standard clock Crucial Ballistix 16gb (8x2) ram 2400 1.2v GTX 980 TI Intel 730 SSD Western Digital Black EVGA supernova 850 G2 Custom loop.
