Hi, i would appreciate a lot if you could help me in building a hackintosh. I have installed OSX Yosemite on an old computer earlier (i.e. "long time ago/once upon a time"). I have a secondary PC which is just lying on the desk and collecting dust. And so, i would like to try my hands on in buiding a Hackintosh. My secondary PC Specs are: ASUS X79-Deluxe Intel i7 4930K nVidia GeForce GTX 1070 G.Skill 4x4GB RAM Crucial MX300 275GB SSD and so on... Previously i have tried "tonymacx86.com" "insanelymac.com" and "hackintoshzone.com" but now i am confused as to which would be the best and ideal build for the above PC specs. NOTE: I don't own/run any Vitual Machine. But i just want to Install "macOS Mojave" on the secondary PC (if it is all POSSIBLE). Hey Guys, I'm planning on building a new system that will be a Hackingtosh so that I can do my school Music Tech work from home. But I don;t want to spend all that money on hackingtosh that'll only use for work and for very little else (Okay maybe I'll duel boot for windows as for lan games once in a while but apart from that). So my idea was to use Unraid so that i could run OSX in a VM along with FreeNAS so i can have a small home storage which i can access from all my devices. I would prefer to be able to only have to spend upto £500 (UK pounds) but that's not a limit and if it's cheaper it's better that's just the aim. Now here comes the bit where I need some help from you guys; I have never built a hackingtosh before so am looking for some help with that I have found a few guides which I'll use for guidance but as I want this to be cheaper rather than expensive I want to change some of the spec but i'm not sure if they are all compatible and if it'll just do strange things to OSX. So dose anyone know if unriad and hackingtosh's works??? And could someone with any experience help me with some specs here is what I want but not sure what else will be compatible: CPU- i5-6600(k) (maybe k series not sure) GPU- either EVGA GTX 960 or amd radoen 7950 any cheaper compatible one thoses are just ones i have access to HHD-WD blue 1TB -WD red 2TB x2 for the nas PSU- Corsair cm series RAM- 16gb (8gb for each vm) MB- I don't mind so long as it's compatible and not too ridiculously priced NOTE: I have an MSI b150 gaming m3 if that is compatible with OSX

Hello there! I'm planning a pc build for myself and i am pretty excited about it so i would love to share this with you! I shall introduce myself a bit, i am a 24 year old cinematography student (final year) and specialise in editting and mostly color grading i work with programs like Premiere, After effects, Final cut pro and Davinci Resolve. Davinci resolve need some specific hardware and since i can't afford the pro version i am limited to use only one graphix card. I chose my components wisely beceause i want to make this pc a Hackingtosh(probably dual boot) but i also want to make it look really neat! For my case i went for the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White, why you might ask? man look at that thing i fell in love with it! i will also add a led strip around the window to make it look even better! I found it quite hard to find the right motherboard for me since there are so many choises but after a while i found the perfect motherboard for this idea i had in my mind wich is: Asus z97 sabertooth mark-s. The cpu i will use was not so hard, this will be a intel 4790k. i have been thinking about dual cpu but that get's just waaaay too expensive and i also think it's too early for DDR4. The cpu cooler will be an Corsair h100i v2 with white tubing over the black tubes to make it match my build. For ram i am going with (4x8gyg 1866) Corsair dominator platinum, there was so much choice in ram so i just went for the ones that looked the best for me and they have white leds! i actually wanted to get the Avexir core series sabranco edition but they are unavailable sadly enoegh (if you might know how i could get them let me please know!) What graphix card i want to use im still not sure, i could go for the 980 TI Hybrid for slightly better specs and cooling or for the 980 TI Hall of Fame for better looks. Psu im still not sure i think some silent 800-850 watt with the ability to use custom cables, but you want be able to see the psu anyway so i dont really mind wich one. I wil add 3 ssd's in this system 1x 500gyg samsung 850 evo for software and os, and 2x 1tb samsung 850 evo in mirror to work from. there will be a dual ssd bracket so i can hide all 3 ssd's between the mobo and the backplate of my case. Don't worry about the storage i also have a NAS with plenty of it to store finished project's etc. Also i will add a blackmagic decklink mini monitor 4k when it will come out later this year for 4k sdi video output I hope i inspire some of you for this quite unique build! if you have any tips comments or other stuff leave them below! i will be happy to answer them! Hey guys. I'm so into the Team Hackintosh and I'm having this issue. Nothing to do with OS X btw. One of the most recommended installation methods for OS X in a PC is clover, as you may or may not know. I did the whole process exactly two times in my system because of reasons, but then I notices when I enter in the UEFI i have two new options to boot from: Mac OS X and Mac OS X I thought it was normal, but I removed all my drivers and then realized these two options were still there. Even when there weren't any single HDD or SSD or USB memory or Disc connected. The Mac OS Xs boot options are carved into the UEFI and not even by cleaning the CMOS can't get rid of it. I asked for help in the Hackingtosh community but they haven't been able to help me. And also this wouldn't be a serious issue if my computer performed well, but the motherboard also seems not to save the changes I make on the UEFI. Primely in the boot options. Fellow forum members, I call upon your expertise for I need help. Now let me give you some information on the situation (nothing crazy or unheard, but it'll hopefully give you a better look on this case). A friend of mine (PC hater, Mac Fanboy), asked my help to build him a Hackingtosh desktop. He is a student (17 years old, about to go to Uni), who gets payed well enough to afford a laptop as well as a desktop. The machine is not meant to be a gaming rig, mostly a workstation for text editing and browsing (Don't tell me about the utter stupidity of building such an expensive rig for such nonsense tasks :lol:. I tried to convince him too). The budget is respectively $1200. His demands were: - Small case (about the size of an Xbox One) - SSD (Lightning fast boot speeds) - Intel core i7 with at least 4 cores and a decent clock speed He left a lot of blank spots. Its up to me to fill those in. Regarding the CPU, I was debating on a i7 4820k and an i7 4770k. Now the 4770K has better overall performance, but the performance/$ isn't all to great compared to the 4820k. All your input on the CPU is more then welcome! The case is a close call. There are not many Mini-ITX cases that are flat like an Xbox One. There are two candidates in my opinion: The Lian Li PC-Q19 and the Silverstone Raven RVZ02. Lian Li's design is unbelievably sleek, but about 1.5x the size of what the Raven RVZ02 is claimed to will be. I personally prefer the RVZ02 due to the fact that it has exactly the width and height of an Xbox, its just 90mm deeper. Another con to this case is that it is not yet released. This means that I'll have to postpone building this system until the case + the fact that not everything is known about the case itself. Will it be any good in the first place? The GPU was an easy choice, I was thinking of a GTX 960 reference. I need to keep compatibility with the case, OS and motherboard in mind. When I say "it was an easy choice" I actually mean I just took a wild stab in the dark and went with the graphics card that seems most fitting to me. Now I am not an expert on this matter, all help and suggestions are welcome. I have never worked with Mini-ITX, so I have not a clue what motherboard has best overall durability, compatibility, price etc. I wanted to leave this topic up to your expertise. RAM is not a big concern of mine. This system doesn't need lightning fast RAM, something like 1600MHz or 1866MHz should fine (I hope :huh:). Don't worry about the RAM, I'll figure it out. The power supply has to fit the case, I'd say something around 400-500 Watt 80 plus gold should cut it. I am not a power supply expert either, so any advice is helpful. I am not sure how I am going to cool the system yet... The case probably doesn't support water cooling, so that's not an option. It would be lovely if you guys could help me figure out the best cooling solution to this setup. That about concludes it. If I am unclear at certain points, please make sure to let me know and ask me! All the help is awesomely much appreciated! Any tips or tricks on the actual assembling is always nice since I am not really considered an experienced builder. I did watch Linus's and Luke's video on Hackingtosh machines. Warm regards, Alean.

Yes Yes i know a hackingtosh, but i wanted to try it out for my self and see how it performs anyways so i installed unibeast and booted up and got the screen where you choose your usb then after that it went into an apple logo and a bar down below started loading then half way trough the bar just stops i even tried leaving it for a couple of hours so i am kinda out of ideas and i was wondering if the community could help me out. I need specific a motherboard with the name x79 on it to build an hackintosh machine??? can I do it with an otherone like the ASUS Z87-K ?

I don't get that think about hacking tosh. Can I use the 4770k for building an hackingtosh machine. And could someone tell in what way should I be careful for building an hackingtosh pls like some of the components or the procedure when I install them
