Hi guys. I'm buying a PC from friend to use it as web/minecraft/terraria/file server, with Asus H110M-K motherboard. I know that there are versions of this motherboard with M2 slot (like h110m-a), but this model doesn't have that feature. So I'm thinking about purchasing an cheap PCIe to M2 adapter, but it requires that mobo have nvme support, and I'm not sure about that. Do you think that it could work?

Buy 550 full system or 550 without GPU and buy later?
Guest posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Should I buy, with £550, a good CPU and decent GPU combo, no overclocking or anything, just stock cooler and cheap motherboard, or a i7 6700k, a h212evo and a z170 motherboard with no GPU, and buy a GPU in a fair few months. I want to wait a year to have more money for the PC, but I have nothing to game on. Would this be a decent alternative to just flat out waiting a year to have like £1200 and buying it all? The two options are https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cv7yyf and https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/ethan.meskin/saved/hdJt6h. -
I set about to build a very simple PC, just a g4560, a relatively cheap h110, from asrock. It is not my first build by any means thus I thought it might go flawlessly, but here I am now. I don't get a post and there is no power on the USB ports, but the fans spin up. This is strange. Any ideas? I can't really wait for a replacement of every single part, so I can pretty much only try to swap one part. I do not own an accessible GPU or a Kabylake/Skylake chip however, since my main system is a custom loop. Any ideas how to go about?

I have an issue that completely perplexes me. I built a small office system for a client with an MSI H110I Pro AC motherboard with an i3-6100. I have built this setup several times before. I have a Samsung Syncmaster P27770HD from years ago that I love, and because it has every connection under the sun on it, I use it for almost every setup I do. I built this new rig, set it up, configured and I was all set. Took it to the client's house and hooked it up to his older Dell monitor, No Video. I keep a cheap Acer monitor with HDMI in my CRV, so I hooked it up and tried it, Boom. Instant boot. So, I went and bought an Acer IPS monitor for him and brought it back. Hooked it up, booted the system, and It gets to POST, and hangs. Wont do a thing. I scratch my head, disconnect it, hook the system up to his 42" Sanyo TV, Boots instantly to the desktop. Shut it down, Took it into his front room, hooked it up to his Vizio 55", boots instantly. The 50" Sony in his guest bedroom? Boots instantly. Take it back to his office again and hook it up to the Monitor, hangs/sticks at POST screen. Brought it back to the office, hooked it up to the P2770HD, Instant boot. My LG 65" 8500 UHD, instant boot. Makes no sense. Losing my mind. Cannot figure out what this might be. Help please. Ideas? I have tried HDMI, and also DVI. The only thing I have NOT tried is using the DVI connection on the Acer IPS I bought for him. But seriously. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?? I can understand possibly it never displaying, but why would I be able to get it to POST, but not any further, and then boot straight up on a TV 3 feet away?

Hey guys, I am currently gathering parts for an office build for a friend and I have settled in on those parts: CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 Motherboard: ASRock H110M I am in germany and the site I am ordering from is offering the option to update the BIOS of your ordered motherboard. Due to this being a H110 chipset and me using a Kaby Lake CPU it is necessary to get said update? The board I am ordering is the 3rd revision of the Motherbard yet I can't find any information about the BIOS the board comes shipped with. What do you guys think?

Okay so I am planning on building this machine: i5 7400 3.0 GHz msi gtx 1060 3gb gt (that black and white non-armor thing) asus h110I-plus ddr4 tt V1 snow edition (white) corsair vengence 8gb 2660MHz corsair cx450m (black cables!) 450 watt seagate barakuda 1tb hyper x fury 120gb ssd/intel 540s 60 hz tv that I will overclock to +10 hz. overall cost: 750$. yes, my country is not cheap when it comes to hardware. Can you tell me with will it look like in games like gta v, bf1, far cry, ac, cs, tf, fo4, forza horizon.... And give me tips and advices to improve?

Can anyone recommend a good lga1151 motherboard under £70. I don't care about IGPU outputs and a few USB 3.0 are OK, what I really want is support 4 DIMMs, decent audio (I'm not an audiophile but I don't want to have to buy a sound card so if it's terrible I'd avoid it ), and a decent amount of PCIE, as I'm hoping to possibly crossfire my 480 later, and have a wifi card. The more i/o the better, but all I really need is ethernet, a few usb 3.0 and 2.0, and audio, so I'd take worse I/o with better internals over better I/o unless that's a terrible idea.

Hi! I wonder what if i buy an Intel Pentium G4560 cpu + h110/h110m or b150/b150m motherboard. Will the computer boot? When i go to pcpartpicker.com and choose the components then it shows this message: Some Intel H110 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Can i add this new cpu to the H110 motherboard and boot to BIOS to update it? I know that without cpu you can't go to the bios, but i'm not sure if you can even boot into the bios with this new cpu. Any suggestions? Oh and, it also says it if i pair this cpu with an Z170 motherboard.

And yes, that warning is something you should keep in mind. For the G4560 to work in the H110 motherboard, the right BIOS is needed. If you'll be buying the board in a real shop and can check the serial number on the box, see my post for a trick to tell if the right BIOS is already installed. If you are ordering online, that's probably OK too, since new boards should now come with the right BIOS. But, if your board doesn't (if you somehow get older stock, for instance) then you'll need to update the BIOS yourself. There are a few ways to do this. All involve some hassle and expense. If you hit that problem when you eventually do your build, I'd be happy to help, but my guess is you won't and it'll all go smoothly." I hope this helps you! Yes, you low budget PC Master Race!

Hi everyone, I recently swapped out my Noctua NH-D14 for a corsair h110, its my first time dealing with AIO water cooling and I had a really hard time deciding the airflow in my case. Im currently running my system in a Sharkoon BW9000-W case with 2x 140mm front intake, 1x 120mm rear exhaust and my top as a 2x 140mm push intake configuration. Previously the top was occupied by 3x120mm exhaust fans. I have been running with very good temps in the Noctua system with gpu max temps of about 67 but after the swap to the rad, it jumped to about 72 deg under load. I was quite worried as there is simply way too many intake in the system (2x140 front and the push intake config for the h110). I only have one arctic F12 pwm fan acting as a rear exhaust fan and it doesent seem effective enough. I live in a relatively hot environment and temps are always a problem. I recently had a gpu fry in a really shitty case with bad airflow. I was wondering if the concept of push as a top fan intake is a bad idea and that I should be changing it to a pull exhaust. I wouldnt want to fry all my components just to keep the cpu cool. Alternatively, will it be better just to change the rear fan to a more powerful 120mm fan such as the AF-120 Corsair? I do not think the Arctic F12 pwm can really push the hot air in the case out efficiently enough. Noise level does not bother me much as the radiator runs really loud anyways. I use isolation earphones to curb the sound problem. The radiator was really difficult to install at the top due to the poor design of the case. Furthermore a front intake is impossible because of the irremovable bottom hard drive bays which make the front fans really inaccessible. I was thinking to change out of this case soon as i got it off a scrap sale for about 25usd. Any help on how to arrange the cooling configuration would be really helpful. intake/exhaust? push/pull? Important Specs CPU: 4790k (Thats why cooling was such an issue) GPU 1070 amp extreme MOBO : z97-a Asus

Hello guys, i need your help again. As the community standards pointed out that everyone has to write 5 points in the New Builds and Planning section 1. Budget & Location I live in the silly place for computer parts, because they don't think that Xeons are cheap, they think it is so awesome They also give ridiculous pricing for Graphics card! like $480 for RX 580 4GB. The PC Part Picker of Indonesia for used and new parts are : -OLX.co.id -https://www.bukalapak.com/ My budget is around Rp.14.655.443 ($1100). Also the currency is Rupiah (IDR) 2. Aim I am gonna be using my PC for Streaming and Gaming, specifically at 1080p 60Hz and FHD Quality Stream. But my games are gonna be Need for Speed series, Minecraft and Games like Crysis 3 3. Monitors Just a Samsung 1080p Curved 40 inch TV, and is it worth if i exchange for the LG's Largest 4K Monitor 43UD79? I bought the FHD TV For like $446 New when 2015 4. Peripherals I already hunted for Logitech equipments Like G413 keyboard and G403 Mouse. Also a Razer Kraken Pro is bundled with my upcoming PSU 5. Why am i upgrading? I already have a super old PC (LGA 775) and i think i can sell it for $121 (if you want the specs of it tell me) so i can make the PC Price not so Expensive. So finally coming to the Bundle ($550.26) -Core i5 6400 lga 1151 Skylake-Zotac Nvdia Geforce GTX 1060 6gb-Motherboard MSI H110 PRO Micro ITX-Powersupply be quiet! System Power 8 500w i can add this RAM and Case Team Elite 16GB DDR4-2400 (2x8GB) $158.69 Corsair Carbide 330r : $50.92 so Total it is gonna be $759.87 for overall parts, is it worth it guys? and do you suggest any changes to parts? let me know in the comments and Thank you

Hey guys, What do you think about the i5 6500 paired with a gtx 1070? i was thinking what motherboard should i buy tho? i really don't know a thing about the features that premium mobo have so... i found this AsRock b150 pro4 that is a mini itx board that cost around 75 euros.. it support the ddr4 2133mhz that is kinda what i wanted.. then it should support an ssd and an hdd? then 1 thing i was thinking do i need a certain mobo to be able to use the turbo boost of the cpu? or any mobo is going to work fine? the final idea is this one https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pjWpQV ($=euro) the ssd that is missing is this one https://www.amazon.it/PNY-SSD7CS900-120-PB-SSD-Interno-120GB/dp/B01KFLH1WS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1482333676&sr=8-9&keywords=ssd+120+gb guys i need serious answers tho, i have around 80euros to spend on a mobo so if u have some advice feel free to tell me... and... the 1070 that im thinking to get is a big one so do you think is gonna stress to much the mobo? or is no big deal? this one was another idea https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LZFV2R but i think that a 1070 with the 6500 will still outperform the 1060 with the 6600k.. but still what do you guys think?

Hey all, I am preparing to order parts for a SFF ITX dorm and LAN party rig to run my 970 that I am pulling from my current home PC which is getting an upgrade to a 1060. As far as Skylake motherboards go, is there much of a difference between the H110 and H170 chipsets in the gaming department? I am on a pretty tight budget and am looking to go as inexpensive as I can without sacrificing too much reliability. I am just throwing an i3 6100 in there because my only requirement is that it doesn't bottleneck my 970, so that rules out the Z170 chipsets for me. Wifi in the board would be a big plus. I have pretty much narrowed my selection down to the MSI H110 Pro AC, ASRock H170M-ITX/ac, and possibly the Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI (rev. 1.0) though going with the last board would be really stressing my budget. In my situation, would there be any real drawback to the MSI board? Would I see any real benefit in an H170 board? Here is my complete parts list as of now if it would help any of you in your recommendation. PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nrP26X Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nrP26X/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($109.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: CRYORIG C7 40.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($29.99) Motherboard: MSI H110I PRO AC Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard ($88.98 @ Newegg) Storage: PNY CS1311 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($49.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card ($0.00) Case: Cooler Master Elite 130 Mini ITX Tower Case ($46.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($49.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Full 32/64-bit ($119.99 @ Newegg) Monitor: Sceptre E225W-1920 22.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor ($79.99 @ Newegg) Total: $575.91 Thanks!

Heya there folks, My stupid ass accidentally bought a stick of DDR4-ECC (4G, 2133 MHz) off of eBay instead of DDR4 non-ECC. I am unsure if the stick even works, but the fact that it was in its original package indicates to me that it most likely does. After updating my motherboard (or rather, my mother's, as I am building this for her), I stuck in my RAM, only to receive a boot loop to the face. The system turns on, the fans spin for a bit, and then it shuts off and does it all over again. It had done this prior to the BIOS update so I was not surprised. This mobo works with the stick of DDR4 that I had in my system that I stuck in to use as a testing stick. Now, the motherboard I'm looking at says that it will work with DDR4-ECC after the BIOS update that I did. And the Intel Pentium G4400 that I'm using also supports ECC memory. So why in god's name isn't it working??? Thanks for your responses, Echino

I have found the smallest mobo with an LGA1151! it's got a 3.5in form factor! The distributor: http://www.bsicomputer.com/products/capa500-15817 Product page: http://us.axiomtek.com/Default.aspx?MenuId=Products&FunctionId=ProductView&ItemId=23368&upcat=270 It's way too much money for me to buy, but I'd love to see LMG play with it! ?

Hello. I recently bought used Corsair Hydro H110 (not H110i). Unfortunately, the seller didn't put LGA 2011 mounting screws in the package. I cannot wait another week to get new mounting kit from Corsair, but the friend of mine has "Swiftech LGA 2011 Mounting Kit" that he doesn't use. Can I use it for my Corsair Hydro H110? Thanks for your advice! Link to Swiftech's mounting kit: http://aerocooler.com/swiftech-socket-2011-kit-socket-lga-2011-mounting-kit/

So I was scrolling through a classified listings site in my country, when I came across a pretty sketchy and according to my knowledge, impossible PC build. The PC this seller was selling caught my eye. Because it has and i3-8100 8th gen Coffee Lake CPU, but was on an ASUS H110M-ITX motherboard. Now if that wasn't sketchy enough, to finish the toppings on the cake, it comes with 16 GB of DDR3, yes, Double Data Rate THREE, RAM. Now, I'm quite aware that an ASUS spokesperson did talk about companies actually being able to use a BIOS update to allow compatibility with Coffee Lake, so it is a possibility, an extremely tiny one but a possibility nonetheless, that this person was some sort of BIOS god and managed to create a BIOS with support for these newer CPUs, but what I'm wondering is - how in the world did he make DDR3 RAM work with the 8th Gen Coffee Lake Core i3-8100, who's Intel ARK page clearly states that it only supports DDR4. And, how in the world did he even manage to fit the DDR3 RAM into the DDR4 motherboard? I was about 90% sure this PC wouldn't even boot, but somehow, after chatting with the seller for a bit, he sent me a picture with the computer displaying those exact specs! How can this be? It has to be a scam right?
