Hello LTT community, Note: (I'm sorry admins if I posted this in the wrong category/area, please move it to where it should be if need be.) Right so basically I've moved all the my/the same hardware from a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe black to a Thermaltake Core P5. In the process of connecting it back up for a test of life before cable-management I get 5 beeps from the Motherboard's alarm-speaker. Medium duration beeps. Now I'm lead to believ this is a CPU not mounted error or GPU not mounted error. Problem is I can't check the GPU because I have no on-board graphics module available on the ASRock 990FX Extreme6 mobo. I'm using a really old Gainward GTX580 reference-design cooler card. Now before I moved the case I would get ocassional screen black outs where my games would either crash or a black screen would appear and go after 5 seconds completely randomly under I guess GPU load; gaming/rendering (photoshop). 1.) I've already tried removing and re-seatting the RAM but nothing. EVen a single stick is a big no no. 2.) I've checked the fans all get power; PSU, CPU cooler and finally the GPU fan. 3.) I've taken the GPU out and ran the system to see about the alarm noises and beeps and it's still 5 medium duration beeps but I feel the beeps start to happen quicker with the GPU removed. I'm assuming this because the motherboard checklist before boot can't find a graphic-output device and fails quicker rather than when it's installed and mounted and powered by the PSU. Because then it has to do checklists on it's condition before boot. If anybody can help shine some light on this for me would excellent! Oh and due to thermaltake's shitty stand-off's I'm missing the bottom lower-left stand off screw holding it in although the stand off is present behind the board. Same with the middle stand-off for an ATX-size board. However I can see nothing is shorting on the pins against the case as I have a good top and side view. My SPECS are: +AMD 9590 4.7Ghz ASRock 990FX Extreme6 Gainward GTX580 1.5GB SG card Samsung 850 EVO Pro SSD 256GB Corsair CX750 (shitty corsair psu) Kingston HyperX Fury low-profile 1866Mhz 2x 4GB = 8GB ram dual channel config Any help would be really REALLY helpful lol. Hi there, I dont know if thats the right sub for this but I'll post this here: I've built a System a few months ago mainly for Music Production. I didn't got a new GPU and used an old GTX580 from Palit. Performance is not the best, but i am not gaming that much so thats okay. Here are the Specs: CPU: Core i7-8700K (OC@4.7Ghz) RAM: 2x 8GB G-Skill Trident-Z 3200Mhz RGB Board: ASUS Prime Z370-A GPU: Single Palit GTX580 1.5GB Storage: 1x M.2 Samsung 960Pro / 2x Seagate 4TB 7.2k RPM (Onboard RAID) PSU: Corsair RM750x Cooling: Corsair Hydro H150i (3x Fans + 3x RGB Fans) / 1x Corsair LL120 Display: 27" 1440p Display External USB-Devices: Steelseries Apex, Corsair M65RGB, Yamaha AG03, Roland TR-8, Arturia MiniBrute (Devices are always connected and on, no external PSUs) Since a few new Games are coming out I plan to get a new GPU. I can't afford a new 20XX-Series GPU for now so I decided to go for an used GTX580 from eBay and SLI it. I got that thing on the cheap (20€!) but totally forgot about the PSU. Is the RM750x powerfull enough to handle this SLI-Config? I have another Corsair 750W PSU laying around, I could use that as second PSU. Wouldn't look that good but Ghetto-Mods are somehow always working. The Dual GTX580s wouldn't stay that long in the System anyway. The single GTX580 is so loud while gaming... Just need to save some money up Would be glad to hear any similiar experiences or tips

I bought GTX580 3gb some time ago like 3 years ago or so. It was bought second hand from renderfarm which seemed to make sense for me as I also use it for renderfarm. Due to life events I didn't use it for rendering for quite a while and I didn't check thermals even longer but today I noticed that when I render on it in Blender Cycles temperature goes up to 98 degree and kind of stabilizes on this level. Fans are running 100%. It kind of sounds like thermal throttling? I guess? I'm not an expert in this field but it reaches those 98 deg quite fast, like 15 min. On second run it achieves 98 deg in below 1 minute and then stabilizes. I think it didn't behave like this when I bought it but maybe I just didn't pay attention to temperature. Am I supposed to perform some maintenance of card? Like idk change thermal paste after those 7 years or something like that? I have some Noctua compound laying around would it be okay? It's MSI GTX580 TwinFrozr II 3gb. Cooling in chassis is quite excessive so I don't think it's problem. I mean it's workstation filled with 11 HDDs and buttload of cards so it has all chassis fans populated.I think 6x 140mm. and one 120, all Noctua.

Hello guys. So i bought a used GTX580 about a month ago, and it has been running very hot and idleing at 60+ C. Now it has done a lockup 2 times and the first time i could just let it cool down and power up again. But after the second time i decided to get some arctic silver 5 on there as what i had put on there was some cheap Chinese stuff. Now the fan will not spin and the computer will post with the HD5450 i also have installed. Windows does not detect it and no amount of changing slots will work. Now trying to test it in another mobo. The PC is an HP XW6600 with 2 e5450 and 32 gb DDR2 667Mhz FB-DIMM and a 650W PSU. I know it is not enough put it did work for almost a month.

my gtx 580 crashed today giving white squares just before freezing up after about 10 sec. the fan starts going like crazy, i can run anything that doesnt require the gpu (i can run my desctop and google chrome. but when i startup a game i get the same problem stated above. i figured its my nvidia gtx 580 that causes it so i want to replace it with a newer (possibly more power full) is there a site where i can buy them in the eu, and is there a place where i can check if it actually goes with what i already have (the graphics card was over 4-5 years old so i am not too sad about it).

Hello, so here is my queation. i currently own gts 450 paired with i5 760. i am getting gtx 580s in the next days. is the cpu going to bottle neck single 580/ sli 580? Or is it going to handle it? or should i be upgrading to i7 870ish. oh and i heard there is xeon cpu for 1156 that is cheap on ebay atm and i am wondering what that cpu name is ( it should be the same cpu as 870 just without igpu- from what i heard) thanks in advance!

hey everyone so i just finished building a small pc for my brother , q6600 , gtx580 , 4gb ram etc i had a crap 500w psu in there and all was fine until i tried a game , the PSU blew up ...... yup blew up lol so now i need a powersupply , i only need enough to run whats in his pc , no overcloking or changes in the future , but i have no idea as to what wattage i need for his PC , apparently the 580 is really power hungry ? i was thinking maybe the EVGA 600B psu ? will that be enough ? any other suggestions would be nice too thanks in advance

hey guys so i recently built my brother a PC , q6600 , 4gb ram , MSi GTX580 buuuuuuuuuuuuuut the psu i had in it couldnt handle the 580 and promptly blew up so now i am tasked with getting a powersupply got it , problem is i dont have alot of cash , i have £50 to spend on a new PSU i was thinking the EVGA 600B powersupply , but apparently the gtx580 is a power hungry son of a B**** lol will that PSU be enough or do you have any other suggestions , and im in the UK obviously thanks guys

My friend is an architect and runs his own business with 4 other employees. Everyone has identical desktops except for my friend who has a different GPU. His four employees are equipped with i7 2600 CPUs, 10 GB of DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDDs, and GTX 580s. Everyone in the office spends all of their workday in either AutoCAD or Sketchup designing various things. My friend however is only equipped with a GT 530 and has been experiencing various recent issues including: Scripts taking a long time to take affect/load, whenever he opens either program his mouse pointer will "smear" for lack of a better term (leaving a trail of infinite mouse pointers) and models will load slower plus lagginess when rotating models. In sketchup he must turn all shadows off or his computer will become too laggy to use. As a solution I have come up with two options: A GTX 960 with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory (a huge jump from his 1 GB of DDR3 VRAM) or a NVIDIA Quadro Workstation GPU which are recommended by AutoCAD. HOWEVER I have not gotten a definitive answer on if Quadro cards are all that better for 2D models considering the huge price jump. He doesn't want to spend more than $400 on a GPU so something like a Quadro 4000 or k2200 would be an option. I recommended the 960 because of its low power consumption allowing him to keep his current power supply, but will it solve his issues and give him what he needs? I am purchasing an EVGA GTX980 SC ACX 2.0 soon. I have been using an ASUS GTX580 DirectCU II on my rig for the past 4 years. I also use an AverMedia Live Gamer Portable capture card to capture my gameplays. My psu is an XFX 850w Black Edition & my mobo is a socket 1155 GA-Z68XP-UD4. I'm on 16gb of 1600mHZ ram & using Win7 64bit OS. I was wondering if I can continue using the GTX580 CUDA to render captured videos while I'm playing games on my GTX980 or will there be insufficient power draw due to both gpus working on full load or maybe even incompatibility issues? I am guessing these two gpus are not optimized for SLI use but that is not my priority & neither is Shadowplay because of capture card mentioned earlier. I just want to know if I can render while gaming at the same time. If not what are my options to achieve this method of productivity when using two NVidia gpus? Thank you for any insight.
