So one of my friend has a dell optiplex 9020 with a i5-4750....he wants to a GPU upgrade...to something like a 1050TI or a 1650...but as usual prebuilt pcs have bad psu....or small capacity psu.....the PSU in this pc is a 290w psu so can a PSU upgrade be done on this pc? if so what are the PSUs that can be used for the i5 and lets say a 1650......this pc has a hard drive and a ssd....are there any psus less than 60$ that can be installed in this pc?

I have a stupid question. I installed an RX 580 8GB. And will soon buy a new mainbort with a new Ryzen. {Because my current mainboard only has one PCI express slot, and i running a ryzen 5 1600X} I just wonder if I can use my old GTX 1050, which I still have lying around here, to fire monitor 2 & 3. Because I suffer from extreme loss of performance from these monitors. These should only run Discord, Chrome and Something like that. Would it be possible? So that I finally can play properly again? PS: sry for my bad Englisch, im from Germany and and only 18 years old ;(

Just curious about my laptop GPU health, as I usually play competitive FPS only such as VALORANT (100-190fps, no temp issue), CSGO(150-200fps, no temp issue). But I know my specs are not meant for high end gaming but playing COD Cold War was playable at lowest settings getting around 40fps min 80fps max. The only issue is the GPU temperature indicator statically stays around 89 degrees with red font. I've heard it could freeze my laptop if it overheats and can damage the GPU The main question is, is it okay if I continue playing few hours constantly at high temp or should I just stop playing COD?

So I have another gpu I could use and an rtx 2060 arriving later today, but I've been some weird issues that I can only deduce are from the gpu, I have two displays hooked up to hdmi, but the problem I'm having is my second display keeps dropping out for a few seconds and coming back with an audio device change alert, most of the time when the signal to monitor 2 drops out, but sometime both displays go out for about 15 seconds and the pc reboots. The card didn't seem to have issues prior to this and I have made no system changes in the past two weeks, this started a few days ago. As I said, I have one gpu I can use as a back up (a gt 1030) and I have rtx 2060 I'll be installing today, so if the card is going out, oh well, but I'd like to get some other opinions before I relegate this thing to the e-waste bin. Edit: Card in question is a Gigabyte GTX 1050 Gaming 2gb. I got it practically new from a friend since he needed a gpu that didn't need a 6pin power connector, so I traded them another Gigabyte 1050 that ran off board power, it worked fine in my previous system for the month or so I had it before putting it in this pc in the start of september.

So I've had this laptop for about a few years now and it has a GTX1050. But when I go to update the graphics drivers it brings up an error saying that drivers failed to update, I think the drivers may be corrupted. Also I can't restore the drivers to a previous version because my laptop "had to be factory reset" to fix some other issues, or at least that's what a teacher at my school said would fix everything but it didn't fix everything, and I also lost some files and game saves. What do I do to fix my graphics drivers?

Hi, I have a dell xps 15 9560, the nvidia graphics driver keeps uninstalling / reinstalling, with BSOD video_driver_error. This especially happens with applications that utilize the GPU, like a game. What I have tired: Done the hardware test by dell. reinstalled windows reinstalled all the drivers, multiple times have used driver easy pro Does anyone know how to fix it or have encountered it? I have gone through all the dell forums and I haven't found an answer.

Howdy all, longtime lurker - first post Briefly, the machine has an i7-8750H & GTX 1050 4gb (non TI), 2 x 1tb ssd's, 32gb ram. All drivers are up to date & system bios is also the latest (F10.A). There's a weird power switching issue going on that I can't seem to find the source of..... Sorry for the long post below haha. With the machine on mains power, from the initial cold boot, the CPU runs fine (undervolted & running 45-60w @ 95c under benchmark loads). The problem is the nvidia GPU, with the machine in the same state after a cold boot, running any Performance test 10.0 GPU benchmark results in super low FPS - see below. From cold boot - AC adapter plugged in DX10: 10-12 fps DX11: 20-25 fps DX12: 14 fps Logging shows GPU core v .715 v, Clock 1000mhz. Just horrible!! But here's kicker #1, if I unplug the charger from the laptop for a couple of seconds after the system has booted to the desktop, plug it back in & rerun the same benchmarks..... DX10: 49 fps DX11: 80 fps DX12: 50fps Logging: GPU core .811v , Clock 1354mhz. Kicker #2: Over clocking the GPU..... Gpu core .950v, Clock 1825mhz, mem 4000mhz DX10: 65 fps DX11: 105fps DX12: 72 fps Unplugging the charger (momentarily) puts the GPU into a higher power state – but WHY?? The exact opposite happens with the CPU – high power state on initial boot (45-60w under full load). Unplugging the AC adapter & plugging it back in again results in the CPU power being limited to 20W (showing as PL2 limit in throttlestop) only shutting down & re-booting the system will restore the CPU back to it's full power state. I'd appreciate some input to get my head around this behavior & see if there is a way around it? It isn't being caused by windows Power Plans changing & not changing back - I've even set up another power profile with all power saving disabled & there's no change. The screen shot below shows Cinebench R20 results & the performance difference between 'normal' 2734 @ full power & the drop to 1672 @ 20W. (Both runs are with the ac adapter plugged in - but the low score is after unplugging the adapter for 5 seconds & plugging it back in prior to re-running the bench mark)

Earlier this week I ordered my brand new Laptop to assist me in my college adventures- ha General specs being 17.3", an i7 7700HQ, a GTX1050 and 8gigs of DDR4 ram, 1TB hard drive and an SSD to come.. Comes in as Freedos, supports nothing but Windows 10. Fine, I install my Windows 10 which I got about a year ago, It was version 1407 I believe. and BAM! I cant install my GPU driver because "This NVIDIA Driver is not compatible with this version of Windows 10", first dissapointment being that, went online and checked some places, found out that I need version 1607 to install GTX1050 Notebook drivers. Left my computer to update overnight, after painful hours of updating with my pathethic internet connection, I install my NVIDIA driver without any problems, feeling fulfilled and sleepy at the same time. Moments after the installation was completed, the computer freezes, restarts into black screen. Here's where the torture beings. I cannot boot into Windows 10 I cannot boot through the same flash drive I installed Windows 10 from (MBR Partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI) I cannot boot through a different drive made of same Windows 10 image but with a different setting(GPT Partition Scheme for UEFI) I cannot access Windows recovery, falls into black screen after Automatic Repair loading. Well, so far, those are the things I have tried, I apologize if the thread is written sloppy or in the wrong section, I havent slept in 2 and a half days and cant seem to get this fixed, talked to the laptop manufacturer aswell, they tried to enable/disable some settings through BIOS - like disabling UEFI and Secure Boot etc- nothing changes, even If i boot through the USB Media, I see a Windows logo, a loading dot circle, afterwards I get a black screen with nothing. At this point, I am nothing but stuck. Help

Hello there once again I find myself encountering almost the same problem I had a long time ago. I use my R9 290X (4GB) on my daily use computer and since I've had it for almost 3 Years now I noticed from the start the performance wasn't so great, but I'm sure if it was for some other reason it would've gone away when I upgraded my PC to Kaby Lake, but still the issue is there. now one thing that boggles my mind is that I have the GTX 1050 (2GB) Mini from Zotac and then when playing the same games I tried for cards I think 1050 runs better, Titles such as Battlefield 1, Mafia 3, Assains creed Unity, and so on. When I tried to do the benchmark on Valley the R9 290X got a score of 1614, and the GTX 1050 got one of 1315. Shouldn't the R9 290X outperform 1050?

I am here to see help and advices from you all. I have this problem where the gpu usage is extremely unstable when i was playing games. I did overclocked my gpu to 1588mHz and the memory clock to 2002mHz but I don't think that's causing the problem here. I get massive lag spikes in The Witcher 3 like it drops from 30 - literally 0 and then goes back up again its extremely annoying. Is there anyway to fix this somehow?? (the temps are just fine) My computer Spec: Intel Pentium G4400 (not overclocked of course) Zotac GTX1050 (overclocked) Corsair vs450 powersupply Asus H110M mobo 8gbs of 2133 MHz ram

Hi I am pondering between the GTX 1050 (£109) and the RX 460 (£90) or the RX 460 4GB (£104). I use my computer for CAD, 3D and video editing. I don't game except for light games that wont see a difference between the three GPU's such as Tanki. I also want to run three 4k monitors. What do you guys think will suite my needs best? Thanks in advance.

Hello fellows, I need a laptop for UNI. I mentioned the minimum requirements in the tags it does not matter if the storage does not reach 500GB unless it is upgradable. I would highly apreciate 4 lanes of thunderbolt as i woud like to use the laptop with an E-GPU at home.

I need help buying a new laptop please confused between the two.. Dell inspiron 15 5000 5577 offers- i5 7300hq GTX 1050 4GB 74whr battery 1Tb HDD 8Gb ram MSI GL62M 7RD offers- i5 7300hq GTX 1050 2GB 44whr battery 1Tb HDD 8Gb ram The problem is that Dell one is too slim but has two air coolers too just like MSI im worried about over heating problems.. while gaming.. plus can someone advice that which screen is better? MSI is more fat and has large air vents at the bottom for laptop coolers.. and also hat copper heat pipes.. not sure about dell though... plus im getting 4gb 1050 in dell and also a lot bigger battery... but it doesnt have large vents for cooling at bottom.. i dont want my laptop to die of gaming after 2 years.... can someone advice please? MSI ? or DELL? or someother? i have a budget of 800USD max. and i have also checked inspiron 7567 but its costly in my region.

Hello everyone, I'm pretty new to unRAID and VMs. I installed unRAID on an old (but beefy) PC of mine that i used to host servers on (TS3, MC, SE, etc.) in order to convert it into a family NAS as well as use its VM capabilities to run a windows 10 to host my servers. I plugged in 4 4TB drives (1 is parity) and a 128 gig SSD for cache and the NAS runs like a charm. Now onto VMs. I cannot get it to work with passthorugh devices. If i set the VM to use dedicated GPU or the motherboard's sound card, it gives IOMMU errors (below) and doesn't start. If i select VNC as graphics and no sound at all, it runs fine. I tried useing PCIe ACS override but no luck with it either. From what i could gather from extensive google-ing, it seems like proper VT-d support on the chipset i'm using is pretty hit/miss . Machine Specs: Asus P6X58D Premium | Xeon X5650 | 12GB DDR3 RAM | GTX 1050 | RX 480 | 4x4TB NAS drives | 128GB SSD for cache | 120GB SSD for VM vDisks. GTX 1050 is in the top PCIe slot to be used by unRAID. I'm trying to passthrough the RX 480 to the VM (second PCIe Slot). Any idea how i can fix this without getting a new mobo because that's kind of not possible atm (and my friends are w8ing for my servers )? IOMMU report: Error log from trying to launch a VM: I posted this on reddit and unRAID's own forums which seem to be deserted on the KVM topic. Since posting this i tried some things: Moving GPUs around PCIe slots = no luck. PCIe ACS Override = no luck. PCIe ACS Override + vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 in syslinux.cfg allows the VM to start but causes the following: With the RX480 as the passthrough device, it renders bright green squares on the screen for a few seconds after VM startup and then shows the "press any key to boot", again in green. If i press a key and send it to boot it starts loading windows, again with inproer green rendering and then crashes and the entire unRAID server hangs up. With the GTX1050 as a passthrough, it fires up the OVMF UEFI emulated bios after starting the VM. When i leave it and proceed to boot the windows installer, it start loading and hangs up again like with the RX480 (subsequently crashing the whole unRAID server a few seconds later as well), but the GTX1050 renders properly - no green artifacts and whatnot. Both of these didn't leave anything in the logs for me to investigate thou. You are my last hope LTT forum people. I'm really liking unRAID as a NAS, I just need to get these VMs to work properly.

Hi, ltt community! I'm gonna replace my old good GT630 with 10 series card. But there's problem. GTX 1050TI have 4GB VRAM but it's weaker than GTX1060 3GB, and THEN GTX1060 3GB version is unstable and drops sometimes. Well, my budget is 241$, and I can't go over it, so... someone knows which one will be better? I'm not buying, like 5 games in one month. Here's my specification: - Intel Core i5-3330 - 2x4 GB HyperX from Kingston - Windows 7 64-bit (I'm gonna upgrade to Windows 10 for DX12) - 600W PSU from Chieftec - 500 GB HDD from WD - Asrock Z77 Pro 4 motherboard - LG 22EN33 monitor + LG TV as second monitor and speakers - 2 additional fans ----------------------------------------------------- BTW. Games which I'm playing right now are Watch Dogs 2 and Battlefield 4.

I just bought a GTX 1050 with max power consumption of 75w drawing power solely from the PCIE slot (which has also 75w max power that can be supplied). My question is the 1050 has no 6-pin conector, what happens if I overclock my card which consequently would increase it's power draw, what will happen? Would the motherboard PCIE exceed the 75w and would potentially short-out or would it simply stop at 75w and stop providing power above 75w? Thanks!

Hello friends, I have a problem here with my game. I can run paladins at max settings without any problems but recently I only get like 24fps on average and random chunky lag spikes on that game. I can run rise of the tomb raider which is obviously more demanding then paladins at 30-40fps but I my pc can't manage paladins quite well. Any solves for that problem? Is that just the game sucks? Or is it some thing wrong with my hardware? Here is my pc specs if that matters Proccesor: Intel Pentium G4400 @ 3.30GHz Graphics Card: Zotac GTX1050 Mini (not overclocked) Ram: Adata 8gb 2133MHz DDR4 memory Motherboard: Asus H110M-K Storage: Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue
