Alright, as the title says, Who has received a GTX 1080 and was it worth the upgrade? Mine should be here Tuesday if NCIX estimates are correct. What are upgrading from? Are you happy? Wanting some info from real people using this card. I have a 5930K with 980 SLI and a I7 920 with 970 SLI. From EVERY thing i have read, i maybe wasting my money buying a new card. (but i like shiny new toys and with get a second when the funds are there) Seems that, if the games you play are good with SLI. I will notice 0 difference. For games that don't support SLI, it will be a giant improvement. Now, VR, which i do plan to get this year, is where the difference will be, lower latency with out SLI. That being said I put out some ads for selling my 970's and 980's. Asking $300 for the 970 and $350 for the 980. And wow. Low balls from hell. Everyone was saying, the new cards are out, so how about $200 canadian rupees for your 970, or $250 for the 980. The GTX 1080 are $909-$989 Canadian. The GTX 1070 will be $750ish Canadian. What are these people thinking. I thought about like this, you go looking to buy a used car. A guy is selling a Camero for $30,000. And you say to the guy, well the new $100,000 Corvette is out so your Camero is only worth $10000. They are not marketed to the same people. Am i being ignorant, over valuing my hardware or what? Not looking for fights. Just good conversation about expectations on the new and selling the old. Thanks for reading.

So I have been wanting to do 5760x1080 gaming but I do not know what GPU to get. So I was wondering... Should I go GTX 980 SLI, or get an r9 295x2 and add a second one later? What do you guys think?

Hey guys,i got my gtx 980 sli set up today and ran unigine heaven today,i noticed that i was getting really low scores,i ran the benchmark with ultra settings and resolution set to 1440p(my monitor resolution).i get a score of 1800-2000,plz guys any help would be awesome.Updated all my drivers and even overclocked it by 10 mhz on the core in both cards thinking that maby something was limiting my cards from reaching max clock speeds.ppl online get scores like 4000 and 4500 without overclocking,i have a core i5 4690k cooled by a h100i and and corsair 650 watt 80+ gold psu.plz plz plz SOME1 help me i got these cards for like 1200$.:-(

Cut to the chase: What GPU configuration is needed to provide a minimum of 60fps in WoW @ultra settings and 2xMSAA using a 4k monitor? More in depth: In the past, when I played WoW in 1080p, then 1440p I was always able to play at a minimum of 60fps with ultra settings. (Yes there may have been the occasional dip in raids, but it hardly ever happened for me). Now that I have a 4k monitor, it's a different story. Originally I had a EVGA GTX 970 FTW and later returned it for a 980 superclocked. There was an improvement, particularly before patch 6.1 came out, but now I am no longer willing to accept the occasional frame dips, and the fact that I can't play with any AA (yes 4k makes AA less of an issue, but I still see jaggies/shimmer and want to be able to use 2xMSAA). For the most part, I do have 60+fps for 90% of the time so I can play the game using the single 980, but I don't want to. I would really like to hear from those who are able to accomplish what I am trying (if it's even possible @ 4k). Please no “should, supposedly, most likely, etc” scenarios. I know WoW is CPU heavy as well, but I don't believe that is the issue as task manager shows I am only using about 50%. There is a specific area where my frame dips occur in Nagrand just a little bit west down the path of Joz's Rylaks flight path around 60.40, 35.94. If I continue west down the path it gets really choppy with fps usually around 50, but I have seen it dip to the 40's. Every time I head west with the camera looking down the path into the distance my fps would drop (I would go to about 56.44, 37.49). Oddly, heading east between the two points was more or less fine- a solid 60fps. If anyone has the time, I would be very interested if this area gives you problems as well, 4k or not. I am not sure if this area in Nagrand is an anomaly, but it is the perfect example of the minimum frame drops I occasionally get (like in raids) that can be consistently repeated so it should be a good testing area for others. Here are the specs of my computer: i7 3770K (right now at 3.9ghz) 32gb Ram Asus P8Z77V-Pro Crucial M4 SSD 750W PSU GTX 980 SC Using Precision X, it looks like only about 2gb of memory is used on the card in Warcraft so I don't think the problem is related to the “you need more than 4gb for 4k” issue. Nothing seems odd in the rest of the OSD other than the power limit seems to turn off an on- maybe that offers some insight? I know a lot of you have better set ups so I am really hoping someone can give a definitive answer to accomplish what I am going for. All help is appreciated.

greetings! im planing to buy a 4K monitor (Philips BDM4065UC/00 40") in a few weeks (have dell U3011 now) my system is i7 5930K Asus X-99 delux 16gb ddr4 2133mhz CM silent pro m2 850W samsung 500gb 840 evo and a single EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 im currnetly playing games like diablo 3, lost planet 3, mass effect trilogy, lichdom battlemage... and minecraft is there any point / good ide for me to get a second 980 when moving to 4k? thanks

Aim: Real video editing and creative solutions (not just youtube ) Gaming and normal use (web etc...) Monitors: I will be using 3 Asus PB287Q's for 4k, I know that these are not the most colour accurate, if this is an issue I will get a 4th PA 24" from asus I will not be using any monitor arms as I plan to have a large desk. os: By the time I can by this rig, I'm about half way there hopefully windows 10 will be out and mostly bug free, if not 8.1 will have to do! Last Thoughts: Do you guys believe the rumors about the 980 ti's? From what I read it was supposed to come out some time this month but now its delayed for early 2016??? Ok. so before you go and think what a waste hear me out. I work as a shift Fitter and turner at a mill I have 4x12hr days at work and end up with 4 days off and a fair amount of disposable income that either goes into my Nissan Silva S15 (my latest car project) or random stuff or my PC so money is not an issue, I occasionally do video edit and stuff for family so utilizing a powerful CPU could potentially be possible at some stage. OK now that's out of the way lets move on. I'm Living in NZ so most things unless stated different will be in $NZD So I LAN a lot but I love Water cooling and having a big case, big cases are not practical to go LANing with especially if you have a coupe and subs in the boot. solution? two rigs! a smaller one for on the go and the Big boy that stays at home and never leaves... ever. but I hate having 2 PC's with 2 different OS'es? Soloution? a External Raidbox with Thunderbolt! Shout out to the scientist's that made this technology possible So here's what i'm thinking/planning- Main Rig: 5930K X99-E WS+thunderbolt 2 card if not included or the Asrock Extreme 6 because im going with a blue/black theme with both PC's Corsair Dominator platinum's 4x4GB's-2133mhz Dual 980's in SLI Silverstone 1000W Gold of some discription looking at a 800D but might change my mind i'm still looking for around. and also looking at some rigid tubing with mahems UV blue and all EKWB gear Secondry rig (Most will be re-used from my current rig) 3770K GA-UD4-TH GTX 770 Corsair HX620 620W not sure of case yet. maybe h440 blue? same W/C gear but with tube res and pump combo and then I was hoping for a "Raid Box" and boot off that and use that as the OS and install drivers from both. this will mean all my data is in one area and software raid will mean SSD's are not going to be damaged as they could in Raid 0 because of software or hybrid raid, well that's my thinking anyway? as well as a mirrored drive for redundancy and a 2TB for movies music storage etc. anyway any ideas and/or suggestions welcome

Gtx 980 sli vs Gtx 970 sli what's the best way to go? I do not want to spend extra $ for few more 10 or 15 fps.
