OK - I dont know if this is the correct forum, if not, please redirect me... I have an older system (april '14) based on the "Ultimate Video Editing Rig"-video from around that same period. It is used mainly for development work, content creation (UE, Blender, 3DS Max, Adobe PP and AE) and a bit of gaming (WoW, Crysis, SWToR, Star Citizen and the likes...) Config: ASUS P9X79-E WS Intel Core i7 4930K@3.40Hz 32 GB RAM DDR3-1066 EVGA GTX 780 TI 2 x 250GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 2 x 1TB Western Digital WDC 1 x 2TB Western Digital WDC Corsair i680 PSU Fractal Design Define R5 Case HP LP3065 Monitor (2560*1600 @ 60Hz) CPU and GPU is not OC'ed and the system is cooled by a custom Water loop. This system was about 4000€ incl. the water loop and it still perfoms, but it is starting to show signs of fatigue, i.e. Unreal Editor or Premiere PRO and the BSoD's seems to be creeping up on me. I also sometimes envy some of the new games, that I am not able to play (Doom Eternal, Shadow of the Toomb Raider etc.) My dilemma is - should I upgrade: GTX 780 TI -> RTX 2080/3080 (<-- those seems to be unavailable atm...) HDD -> NVME M.2 (with a modded UEFI being able to move OS to NVME's) 32GB -> 64GB HP LP3065 -> new 32" 144HZ monitor (i.e. Samsung Odyssey G5/G7) or should I start from fresh building a brand new RIG? I know this is highly subjective, but I am asking for your opinion - what would you do if you were in my shoes? Please help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I am in dire straits.... Regards from DK Martin Moesby

gtx 780 ti GTX 780 ti mem showing up as only 4000mhz
This kid builds pc posted a topic in Graphics Cards
For some reason my mem is only showing up 4000mhz even though stock is 7000mhz. Any idea on how to fix this? -
So I just won a super cheap 780 ti and right now I don't have a loop yet... So is it possible for me to see really quick (a couple seconds) if it shows video and posts? Thanks in advance.

So a friend of mine recently just gave his 780 ti to me. He said it was soft bricked because he attempted to install the skynet BIOS to the card and that it prevented him from installing drivers onto to it. So when I got the card it was detected almost instantly as a 780ti but beside it's name in device manager showed a little yellow exclamation triangle. I identified the error as "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".I tried the following: -Flashing the latest VBIOS from techpowerup -DDU -Installing drivers (Old and new) -Clean install of drivers (Old and new) -System restore point and then DDU -Downgrading VBIOS, rinse and repeat I'm pretty lost at this point because even after doing clean installations and flashing the BIOS, the card still persists to give me the same error. The only other option I can really think of is going with a fresh Windows install, but any time I've ever done that in a situation like this, it does absolutely nothing to fix my problem and wastes my time. I might be pulling too much power but I'd still think that at idle it would still function properly. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. My specs are: -Ryzen 3 2200G (not overclocked) -8GB DDR4 2400MHz (overclocked to 2800MHz) -EVGA 450bt 450 watt powersupply -Founders Edition GTX 780 ti -Windows 10 Pro 1809 17763.437 Thanks in advance

hello everyone, 4 days back i had this issue with my GPU (gtx 780 ti), i'm using a dvi-i to vga adapter (yes i know it's not the 20th century anymore) connected to my asus VW193T monitor and i tried to turn it on that morning but the screen didn't detect it, i thought the problem was that the adapter broke, but I've tried it with an old quadro 2000 and it worked just fine, then i thought that the graphics card was dead, but when i hooked it up to my tv over hdmi it worked perfectly, display port worked as well, i run games and all seemed to work great, so then the dvi-i port was clearly the problem, fortunately my monitor has a dvi-d port, my question to you guys is if dvi-i and dvi-d are related, in other words, if dvi-i port died then automatically the dvi-d is dead as well considering they are really close to each other, also, is there a way to know if dvi-i port is damaged physically or its just a software issue. thank you

Hello, due to some unexpected events i have downgraded from my ryzen 5 1600 build as i have only the funds to fit this build!CPU: Intel Core i3 8100 Lets start off with the cpu! i have read a few reviews about this, and alot of benchmarking videos (though might not be as accurate for my build) i was going for some ryzen builds at first as i might need the extra cores and threads for streaming. from where i come from (Indonesia) the prices are a bit fluctuating above the norm and some do have really weird prices. the i3 8100 is sold at RP 1.600.000 (111.22$ Approx) looking for about a processor on this price range! i rarely play high demanding games. CSGO and PUBG are the main one im looking to get a good FPS on! i disregarded the Ryzen 1300x is because i probably wont be doing overclock at the start. but what im wondering is the upgrade path of ryzen! as it is very enticing. i would probably upgrade to the i5 8400 somewhere in the future (Not looking for immediate upgrades)Motherboard: Asrock B360M Pro 4im going for the B chipsets as i probably wont look for a unlocked intel processor in the future. and i hope this motherboard is of good quality! and that it would suffice for other processors in the future. seen alot of good reviews from it and the b360m pro 4 fits my budget perfectly! hows the future proofing or upgradability of this board?Graphics Card: GTX 780 TI REFERENCEThis graphics card was gifted?(TBD) from my friend. he had the gtx 780 ti reference on a water cooling block but i opted for the base heatsink for now. this was purchased somewhere around the launch of the card. this should suffice for now but in the future i might upgrade to something beefier, but i hope this card lasts for quite some time.RAM: Klevv DDR4 CRAS 2133mhz (2x4GB)This ram was sold to me at a very cheap price! (from a friend) and i will probably look into upgrading to a 3200mhz ram or adding the same 2x4gb bolts to make it 16GB!. unlike the ryzen with their Infinity Fabric should i upgrade rams? (id like to be on a budget) i can probably ditch the 2400mhz ram but i dont see it as money efficient. (ive seen that i can tweak the timing for a higher mhz? i think im still new on ram tweaking)Power Supply: Bequiet! Pure Power 10 500W Silverthis power supply is currently powering my old tower! and it works wonders with the continuous 500W and a peek of 550W! as the 780 ti sips alot of power, when i upgrade the GPU i should have no worries for wattage from the power supplyTLDR: Give me some of your opinions! if you have a simmiliar build share your experiences! i would love to know more as im the pc building platform has piqued my interest. As for the AMD side of things give me your opinions or a seperate build thats also future proof! as you can see here some parts are already bought and some are still planned PICTURES TBD! On a side note does anyone have experience in coloring a case? (i wanted a pink case but in my market there arent any so i think spray painting is the next best choice)

Hi, Well, hope I can find a solution for this, I just purchased a second hand GTX 780 ti Reference Edition (Was tested before the interchange). I've tried everything to resolve the issue I've been experiencing with the card (Title of the article) since the first day of purchase. Despite the fact that, I mounted it properly to the PCI ports (used the other one for troubleshooting purposes) and also properly connected it to the PSU (650 Watts BTW), is not working nor is being detected. From my end and as per other sources, I'm thinking that is not specifically the card that may have the issue, but my PSU. Why? Well, I've tried to turn my PC without even plug the PCI cables from PSU to the card and turned out that the card fan turned on at 100% (the sound is like a mini jet or something like that) with no signal at all. My PC just booted up like normally does, no error beeps, etc. Involving all the troubleshooting steps from various articles, I've tried them all. Even, cleaning the card gold pins with Isopropyl Alcohol thoroughly and ended up with no luck as well. The only "extreme" methods I haven't tried yet are: Use the card on other PSU/PC, clean the card from the inside, nor use the famous "oven method" (Saw it from Linus Tech), since I wanted to see some suggestions or thoughts you might have before proceeding to it. Furthermore, sometimes the cards turns on, the fan spins normal, then turns off in 10 or 7 seconds leaving the card lights on. Please, let me know if I was correct in regards to the PSU not sending the needed energy to the Card or any other opinion you want to provide. All your help will be greatly appreciated. *Sorry for the wall of text btw, wanted to be as most specific as I could. xDD Here I left you my rig: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/antonymatos/saved/bywjcf

Hey guys, Just a quick question. I'm thinking about getting the Vive VR headset to play simulation games such as iRacing. The steam VR compatibility checker advised that I upgrade my graphics card but due to short funds at the moment I'm not sure I can do that. Do you think my system would run the Vive VR headset well? Hi, so basically i want to buy a gtx 780 ti off craigslist for cheap because i dont do 4k gaming and i do 1080p and 1440p but i dont want to spend a whole bunch on the new 10 series when i could spend $150 for what i need. The card i am buying is a gtx 780 ti classified edition. I watched a tech quicke on bottlenecking and got worried about my pc specs bottlenecking the performance of this graphics card. My specs Are CPU: i5-3550 (3.3ghz quad core) MOBO: MSI H61M-P31/W8 RAM: 16gb g.skill 1333mhz dual channel cas 9 ram (i dont know the part number of the ram but that should be enough) PSU: EVGA 850w fully modular my game storage is stored on a samsung 850 evo 500gb ssd if that effects anything. I just want to know if my specs would bottleneck the performance of this graphics card. Thank you.

Hello! I got a GTX 780 Ti from a friend and it was not supposed to work. He had it in watercooling loop and flashed it to raise voltages and overclock stuff until it died. He then changed the waterblock back to the stock aircooling module and now the computer recognized it but I have to flash it back to the stock bios right? How do I do that and where I can download the original bios. I've googled but it comes up with modified bioses. Please help. I have AMD Radeon HD 6950 2GB in my rig at the moment. What do I have to do to get this GTX up and running? Thank you so so much in advance!

Hi guys I have this setup: i7 3770 (I use auto OC and think it's clocked at 4.10) MSI Z77A-G45 16GB DDR3 MSI GTX 780 ti OC Samsung Evo 840 250GB SSD 750W PSU Two old HDD around 3TB for other stuff Dual screen 1080p with one running 144hz and running it all in a custom water loop so OC is an option. I am considering upgrading to a 5820K with new MB and DDR4, but there is also the new 6700K I mostly game, but also have alot of things running at once. And with new internet I might test out some streaming The other option I have considered is upgrading my 780 ti to the 980 ti. I originally wanted to SLI my 780 ti, but they are scarce where I live and those I can find cost the same as a 980 ti. I like new tech and this might be the reason, but is it crazy to upgrade anything right now?

So here's a question I have, I am currently window shopping for tax season and I am deciding whether I should go with the current gen GTX 980 or the previous generation's flagship GTX 780 Ti. On paper, the 780 Ti has superior specs (minus the power consumption) but I am more concerned about real world applications. It would be nice if Linus and his crew did a showdown between these two monsters of a GPU but just in case they don't I'm asking everyone here what they think. Also, I currently am running these components: 1. ASRock 990FX extreme3 2. AMD FX-6300 6 core 2.5Ghz CPU (OC'd to 3.7Ghz) 3. 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600Mhz Ram 4. OCZ Vector 150 SSD 5. OCZ Fatal1ty 750W PSU If anything is going to bottleneck my GPU let me know as well because I'll upgrade that as well.

hi guys i'm still a newbie and want to build my 1st gaming / video editing PC i'm planning to buy this secondhand GPU which has been used for two months http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4839#ov i got an offer for this GPU for only 290€ instead of 440€ for a new one. is it okay to buy a used GPU? i'm kind of hesitating not because it's used, but because it has some bad reviews which i sadly don't really understand

I want to build a gaming pc. Which gpu should I buy? The GTX 780 ti or the GTX 970? They are the same price for me. If you think an other gpu is better please tell me.

The original rumor was that the 800 series which is now the 900 series was supposed to be priced better than previous *70 and *80 releases in the past. Since then...many have been playing the guessing game. Will Nvidia show us some love?! The Phillipines prices are relevant but as with anything, discounts for buying in bulk allow e-tailers like Newegg to price more competitively. I am in a unique financial position to buy any one of them but for me it's all about value. If the 980 is too high I will wait until the next series to purchase it and get a 970 or 780. I am curious to see what the pricing on the 780 Ti will be. The prices are going to go down on 700's...pretty much a given! In a few days all shall be revealed... There, happy?! What will be your next upgrade?
