(First of all, I need to mention that I posted this problem first in Tom's Hardware forum(1 week ago), didn't get a reasonable answer, so here I go posting it here...) Hi, First I'm gonna tell you specs of old and current pc: (Also this is gonna be long, I'll try to mark the more important parts with Bolding) Old(!) PC: { --MB: Asus H97 Pro Gamer, --CPU: Intel Core i5 4460, --RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB DDR3 1866Mhz * 4, --GPU: Asus Dual Gtx 1060 3GB, --SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB (sata), --PSU: Thermaltake Smar SE 630w } Current(Upgraded) PC: { --MB: Gigabyte B450M DS3H, --CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x, --RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 3000Mhz * 2, --GPU: (Same as above), --SSD: (Same as above), --PSU: (Same as above) } Now to the problem, 1 year ago I bought new cpu/mb/ram (I bought an Asus Prime B450M-A(CSM) back then), installed everything and ready to go but my mb beeped in a certain pattern which I then realized it meant it had gpu problems, I then sent the mb to warranty company, after a week they said it was some bios problem and now it's fixed, brought home the "fixed" mb, tested it, but still didn't work so I moved everything back to old pc (Because I needed(!) to continue playing games) About 8 months ago me and my uncle(he has some computer knowledge) went through testing it again, I don't remember what we tested exactly, but probably every basic problem solving method, There existed a weird problem, my 1060 worked fine on the h97 mb, but when I connected it to the Asus B450M-A mb it didn't even post, even keyboard's numpad(trying to turn it on) didn't work, I connected a 9500 gt graphics(Which I believe is full length but uses pcie 2 x8) card to the mb and it worked fine (weird) .1 month ago I even tested connecting 2 PSUs(630w + 500w) at the same time to upgraded pc ( 500w to cpu and mb, 630w to gpu), problem insisted except time time keyboard was working!. Yesterday I bought the Gigabyte mb because I was pretty sure it was mb's fault. Previous Asus B450M mb had only 1 pcie 3 x16, the new one has 1 pcie 3 x16 and 1 full length pcie x4, more room for testing.I said to myself "Ah sht, here we go again" and started changing mb ... same problem, so I moved the graphics card to the lower pcie x4 slot, aaaand it worked (However I couldn't connect most pin-related stuff to mb because the gpu was covering them, I had to power on the pc by using a very thin screw driver :S ). I also updated new mb's bios and gpu's bios(!). So here's my "Question", why does my graphics card works on the old h97 pcie 3 x16 and on the new Gigabyte's pcie x4 but not on neither Gigabyte nor Asus(new one) pcie 3 x16 slots(Not working: no display)? P.S. Here's extra hardware I have access to: { Geforce 9500 gt, Geforce 7100 gs(!), 500w psu, Samsung 128gb sata ssd, 2 sata hdd } P.S. My 500gb ssd has Debian 10 on it(The one I'm currently using(and writing this post on it)), and the 128gb has Windows 10. Thank you in advance.

I could buy a GTX 970 from ebay for around 175-200 pounds, would this be worth it? My other options in this price range would be a rx 470 8gb (to oc and match the 480 with more vram), a rx 480 4gb (a cheap, bad cooler model), a gtx 1060 3gb and i think i could maybe find a gtx titan in this price range (the original titan w/ 6gb vram. Which is the better option?

So I'm a first time builder and I've watched hours of YouTube and just cant get a solid answer to which GPU is better please HELP! I'm mostly gonna be playing open world games like rust and ark but also maybe some PUBG List of parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yYf2hq Thanks in advance My options are RX470 4gb or GTX 1060 3gb don't suggest anything better cause i simply cant afford it. I'll probably be playing at 1080p I have a crappy monitor (no g sync or free sync) but might be getting a better one in the future.

Hey guys, so I'm having this issue where I can't get a steady 60fps on BF1 and well I don't have a bad PC I think. My specs are as follows CPU: i5 7500 GPU: GTX 1060 3GB RAM: 8GB DDR4 (2x4GB) MOBO: Asus B250m-A PSU: 500watt Corsair that's pretty much the important stuff, point is that BF1 just isn't running well, I had NZXT Cam Software running in the back and I was seeing that the CPU was almost constantly at 100% usage with the GPU sitting at around 70-80% usage, I understand that BF1 is CPU intensive but that's a bit ridiculous. I have another PC with an i7 6700k and well the game doesn't stutter nor drop below 60 whatsoever, though that one does have 16GB of DDR4 RAM instead of 8GB. I'm not understanding what's going on TBH, the only thing I could think of is that the CPU could be Thermal Throttling but it doesn't go past 70c and that's with the stock intel CPU cooler, plus I also have like 4 more fans in there, 2 as intake and 2 as exhaust and the PSU is also acting as an exhaust fan, I'm just not quite understanding what's going on here. The RAM is placed properly for Dual Channel as well, one in the A1 Dim and the other in the B1 Dim so that isn't the problem /: I'm just stumped, maybe some of you could help of bring up something that I have yet to try Thanks in advanced I've included a picture of the PC just to give you guys a visual representation of it I guess I know in the picture the RAM is in both A1 and A2 Dims I've changed that already so disregard that lol

Hello all, I'm new here, I've been watching a lot of linus' tech tips on youtube and it led me here because of my own dilemma. Well as the title says, I'm currently running a gtx 1060 3gb on my computer and the games im playing such as Heroes of Newerth, DOTA 2, League of Legends and Dragon nest have constant 20-30 FPS, especially Dragon Nest. Though the MOBA games are running at 30-45 fps, still is this normal, or is there something wrong with my setup? Any helpful replies will be greatly appreciated. or if there's some tweaks i could do to improve the performance?

Hey, I'm posting as I am wondering if the I3 6100, 6300 or 6320 CPU from intel would bottleneck with a GTX 1060 3GB Windforce OC or the other way round if it does please suggest another intel LGA1151 budget CPU that I could use in my next budget build. - Thanks Guys, Jamie

I just built my first PC and all I need to do is wait for a 1-2 cable splitter for my case fans. I just got a 144hz monitor last night for a really cheap price of $149.99 and it has free-sync, in which AMD gpu's support that and NVIDIA gpu's support g-sync. Well, I have a GTX 1060 3gb in my PC right now, and while I was at the store last night, they said I could give back the 1060 in for a RX 480. I got the 1060 3gb for $194.99 on Black Friday and in benchmark videos, the 1060 performs 7-15 frames more at times, and that's what I'm stuck on. Both of the gpu's will be the MSI GAMING X version. The only reason I wouldn't go with the RX 480 is because I would probably have to pay $30 more for it and get less frames, but I get free-sync. What should I do?

i have been having a major issue with my gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb windforce paired with the i5 6500 and 8gb ddr4 fury ram. my gpu usage in most games is sitting around 30-50% on 1080p, i have tried swapping out ram for 16gb, i have tried changing the settings in nvidia control panel nothing has worked, i even updated my bios to the latest verison. This should not be happening with an i5 6500, can anyone help me solve this issue ? my motherboard is asus h110m-a M.2 with a 500w evga power supply.

I have the Zotac GTX 1060 3gb AMP in my Define Nano S and I was thinking of cleaning up the build a bit, with a backplate for the GPU. Should I find a backplate from previous Zotac gpus with similar layout or go for a custom diy backplate (plexiglass)? Thank you

Hello I am in the market for a hardware upgrade to improve framerate In games especially in battlefield v. I have to run the game at low setting on 1080p at 60hz and I get around 40-50 FPS and it spikes heavily around 30 in combat. My specs are a gtx 1060 3gb and a I5-4570. 12gb ddr3 ram 1600 MHz.When I run the game my cpu is at 100% load on low settings. I was debating if I should upgrade the gpu to a gtx 1660 or upgrade the cpu to a i7-4790k or just upgrade motherboard ram and cpu for a Ryzen 5 2600. Which upgrade will give me better frames??

Hey guys, I am planning to globally upgrade my pc by getting a ryzen 5 1600x (before I had i5 2500) A new ATX mobo msi x370 gaming pro carbon (before some old 2011 Micro atx) 16gb of ddr4 vengeance Corsair ram (before 8GB of ddr3) Cpu cooling is cooler Master all in one liquid cooling 240mm rgb so I can do some overclocking (before a stock cooler). A 500GB ssd And lastly a mid tower case from nzxt s340 (before a mini tower) I will still have my gtx1060 3GB, my hard drives and a 550w bronze power supply from cooler Master My monitor is a 1920x1080 60hertz from Acer however I am looking to upgrade to a 144hz when I get more money I do want to upgrade the gpu to a gtx 1080 possibly when I get more money because I solely use the pc for gaming

I face this Problem in the mourning time; mostly when I turn on my PC after 5 to 6 hours interval. Whenever I turn on the PC my monitor screen light beeping and sometime shaking. In this circumstances, I do turn off the power switch of the monitor and turn on to bring things on the track. But this happens every morning when I turn on the PC. To be ensured that the problem is in the monitor, I use it with another laptop. But, I dont see any prob there. Now I am wondering, weather the problem lies in the monitor or in the GPU. (My GPU brand is Leadtek brand. And my PSU is Thermaltake litepower non 80 plus.)

My current specs: GTX 750 ti A8-7600 A78M-E35 V2 motherboard 8GB So I want to upgrade my gpu to either the GTX 1050 TI or GTX 1060 3GB and I know my cpu is kinda bad... But on many videos the A8-7600 does not perform as badly as I thought. So i was wondering can I still use the GTX 1060 3GB and get around or above 60fps still (I am not bothered about over 60fps because my monitor is 60hertz max). Or will the gtx 1050 ti give me higher frame rates than the gtx 1060 even though the 1060 is a more powerful card? I play league, warframe etc not too demanding but I also have battlefield 1 and gta v, will it handle those at 60fps on high or max settings? Many thanks!!!!!
