Hi. I am currently planning to upgrade my dad's old server, i need gpu recommendations for 20-30$ (i know my budget is very low, but i need it for school and I'm quite broke), I'm choosing between the hd 8490 and the gts 250, but if anyone got other recommendations it is gladly appreciated, thank you. And sorry for the bad english because it isn't my first language.

Made an account just for this. Any kind of help will be appreciated. Back when Haswell was released, we got a new PC with no GPU. Later on we got a Sapphire R9 280 3GB DUAL-X to game on it. Weeeeell it's still in use now and I actually got my hands on a "mined to death" XFX RX 580 GTS 8GB to try and revive. I know how a dead card behaves, so I wanted to try installing it in my PC to see what to do later. There's an LED above the 8-pin connector which glows red when no 8-pin power is inserted, and blue when everything is working as expected (found that out in the manual). Whenever I plug in the 8-pin into the 580 and turn the PC on, the LED on the 580 blinks red for a split second, making the same sound a power cycle makes, and then nothing happens. No post screen, no fans running in the PC, no peripherals running. As if the PC had no power. My suspicion is on the PSU, which I will explain how after I state my specs: CPU: i5-4460, Motherboard: GIGABYTE B85M-DS3H, RAM: 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz, Storage: 1x Seagate Barracuda 1TB, 1x Seagate Barracuda 320GB, PSU: An included Cooler Master RS-500-PCAR-I3 Now the power supply only has 1x 6-pin connector on the 12V rail, and the other 12V has three Molex daisy-chained. I run the R9 280 by plugging in the 1x 6-pin and using a molex to 6-pin for the other 6-pin. It works fine. For the 580, I had to get a 2x 6-pin to 8-pin which in theory should work. And afaik, the 580 has a lower TDP than the 280. I don't understand why that could be an issue. Also both 12V rails have 20A support so that should be fine too. Weird problem, so any kind of help is fine. Sorry for the long post and no formatting.

Hello my GTX 1060 is staying at 202 mhz even under load. The temperature is lover that 60 c. I tried DDU. Updating Vbios, updating motherboard bios, reinstalled windows, tried different pci-e slot. No luck If anyone knows how to solve this issue plz help

I'm looking to get a new wheel setup for Gran Turismo Sport, as my G27 isn't compatible with PS4. I've tried using a CronusMax to adapt the signal, however that only works for 10 minutes and then disconnects. My question is: Is it worth getting a new wheel for the current gen now, and risk loosing support when the next generation of consoles come around? If I am getting a wheel, I'm sold on getting the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT as it has everything I need for around $1,000AUD. (Including various peripherals like shifter and a stand)

Hi First post here, although I've been reading here for a while... My question is: Should I get a 30mm thick 420mm HWlabs GTS, or a 60mm thick EK XE360mm to expand the loop in my Fractal Design R5? Background: I have an R5 with all drive bays removed, in which I used to have a 360mm EK Predator as an intake, cooling 2 1080Ti's with the 7700K CPU on air (NH-D15). It used to be a near silent aircooled rig, that started making way to much noise once I added in a second 108Ti in SLI (MSI Gaming X). One was near silent, 2 horrible. I then put both of them on water using a modded (cpu block removed) Predator expandable AIO and prefilled GPU blocks. This was my first venture into non-CLC watercooling... This worked fine in my use case (GPU's mostly using only 60% of their TDP), but really struggled when I stressed both GPU's for a longer time at 100% TDP. OC was not an option, so I started plotting an upgrade... Given the complexity to empty, fill and bleed the Predator unit while it is in the case and the fact that the low powered DDC 3.1 in the unit is not able to push both a second radiator and QDC connections, I bought a EK D5/140mm pump res combo and a 30mm thick HWlabs GTS280mm radiator which I put in the front with 2 Noctua NF-P14s's before and added QDC's to that as well as a temporary solution, so I could make up my mind how te proceed. I didn't dare go for something thicker, because I suspected it would not fit. If I measure now, a 45 or 60mm thick 280mm rad might actually just fit, but only in push... While HWlabs 30mm thick GTS rads are reported to perform similar to 45mm thick EK PE rads at the same dimension, the difference between the 360mm and the 280, combined with the shift from 2200rpm max Vardar fans to 1200rpm max Noctua's has made the current solution unable to cope with the heat of the 2 GPU's at 60% TDP. I added a water temperature probe and the water gets above 60 degrees quickly... I run on one GPU atm. I can still hook the Predator back into the loop, with it's pump disabled, in which case I get decent temperatures when I test it... To do this, the Predator sits outside the case and the cpu is still not in the loop. A predator has rather high noise 2200rpm Vardar fans, but only a 45mm EK PE radiator core in it. I want to change this to a system contained within the case, and the most obvious way to do so, would be to add either a 420mm x 30mm rad in the top, or a 360mm x 60mm one. The HWlabs GTS420 and XE360 both seem to be best in class, but I can't find any comparison between them. With the 360mm I get to keep an 140mm Noctua exhaust fan, (also giving me more negative pressure in the case unless I reverse it), with the 420mm I can't keep that fan. I mainly run the system with low CPU usage, and full load on the GPU's at 60% TDP limit right now. I want the least possible amount of noise in this use case, but headroom for scaling up to (noisier) overclocking in the future would ideally still be an option... I am leaning towards AF-F14 PPC 2000 PWM or NF-F12 PPC 2000 PWM fans for both usecases. Has anyone compared the performance of both rads to each other?

What ever happened to the 100 series? I can find the 140 and below but the 150 is no where to be found, am I bad at searching or is there just none?

So, ive got GTA 5 like most other people BUT it keeps crashing and i cant figure out why. ive got; I7 4790K (no oc atm) 8GB Corsair Vengeance 2133MHZ RAM 2 X GTX 780 in SLI 2 X Crucial MX 100 256GB SSD in RAID 0 MSI Gaming 5 mobo 1000W Silverstone PSU i can play the game for 5 mins or 2 hours but it will crash! ive tried low and ultra settings and everything in between, ive tried SLI and single card, running it from the SSD's and off a HDD, sometimes it will restart the computer and on occasion it will BSOD mostly it will just crash out of the game. i also tried it on my old PC I5 760 @ 4GHZ 8GB 1600MHZ RAM GTX 780 ASUS P7P55D-E mobo 500GB WD blue drive Still crashed! only thing in common was the amount of ram and the save file Any help would be very very much appreciated! Hi ! I want to make an SLI with two GTS 450. I already have one, and I found another, the problem is that the other GTS 450 it's broken. The PC starts, and the cooler of vga works, but the monitor doesn't show anything. I was thinking that if I connect my monitor to the GTS that works the SLI must work. I'm right ? I don't know if you will understand, thanks anyway !

I have a EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS that someone gave to me. I have no idea how much ram it has, and will soon find out whether it works. Does anyone have any idea of the price I should swell it for? I've looked for a bit and pricing has been very inconsistent, ranging from $200-$300 and $40-$100. Thanks!
