GT 750M single dedicated graphic on a lenovo y510p laptop --- Freeze followed by stuck temps (low) and stuttering. So, this problem has started while playing stellaris, usually when i first launch the game, it runs fine. after a random amount of time (can be 6 hours or 5 mins) the game will freeze (not crash) and i'm forced to kill the process, then when i relaunch, i'll notice my gpu temperature never going over 67 degree celsius, it stays steady there, and the game starts stuttering, i tried playing other games to check if it's just with Stellaris, but apparently this freeze on stellaris causes other games to stutter as well, such as besiege or beam.ng drive. this is really weird, the temperature of my gpu don't increase as if it was'nt being used properly, causing stuttering. I need your knowledge and help please. i'll try my best to provide any additionnal information you request. There is some shady shit i've just seen, might be good to have info about that as well, i have a 500gb evo ssd

Hey. So I've used a late 2013 MBP Retina for a while now, I bootcamp into Windows at times for my programming and networking classes for certain software, which have been working fine. It's just one thing that've been wondering. When in Windows, the Macbook get's really hot by doing nothing at all, and I don't have to start alot of stuff before the fans start to kick in. It's a totally different story in OS10 however, where it's essentially cool until I start some graphics intensive stuff, where then the GT750m kicks in. In OSX I have the automatic graphics enabler thing on, so it switches between the Iris Pro and the 750m when it needs to. I have this feeling that the GT750m is constantly being used in Windows, which is what is causing the heat at idle. Yes I know OSX runs lighter in general, but I couldn't get the Iris Pro drivers to install in Windows when I tried. Or maby it's just Windows itself... Thanks for any comments on this.

What sort of frame rates would you get on BF4 for each of the graphics settings? (Ultra, High, Medium and Low) At 1080p. Thanks, Blueprint

So I turned on my y500 this afternoon (no updates were done / nothing changed since last time) and I noticed that while playing any game or 3d test the graphics card would underclock itself from 1202mhz all the way down to 135mhz. It stands out a lot in games and does the exact same thing with SLI turning on and off. I tried turning on Prefer Maximum Performance instead of adaptive and that did not change anything. I also tried doing a driver update and that did nothing but make my games micro stutter (joy of SLI systems). I am wondering if anybody else with this laptop or with nvidia SLI cards in general has experienced this problem of downclocking all the way to idle clock speed. The only possible thing that could have caused this is possible not enough power? I am still not sure because It is a laptop and they should have more power than they need .... i would think that 170 watts of power would be find. Please help me solve this problem as it underclocks every few seconds and I can not play games what so ever. Thanks Ahead of time. :unsure:

When my laptop is unplugged, I have noticed that due to the power settings it: ultilizes the gpu less, and overall performance is lowered. I am fine that. However, today after one game crash on Civ V, it started behaving as if it was unplugged or in a low power setting, WHILE plugged IN and power settings maxed. Here are the specs before I procede: OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit. CPU: Intel Core i5-4200M 2.50 GHz RAM: 8GB Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M The shi**y intergrated graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4600 *I know that the specs aren't impressive, but it runs most games smoothly on moderate to high. Or rather it did before today. Steps I have taken to try to diagnose/fix the problem. 1. Turned it off and on again. 2. Reviewed the power saving settings; All are performance-optimised. 3. Ran virus scan, defrag, reg check, pc cleanup. No issues found. 4. Checked that the high-performance NVIDIA processor was chosen in NVIDIA control panel. Both global default and settings for specific programs were checked for the NVIDIA gpu. 5. After noticing that PhysX > CPU icon was present in one game, I checked NVIDIA CP to see if PhysX was checked for the GPU and NOT the CPU. It was. 6.This prompted me to uninstall the gpu driver. After reinstalling the latest driver through NVIDIA Geforce experience, the PhysX > CPU icon was no longer present. HOWEVER the computer still acted as if on low juice, and the performance of the game I ran comfortably just a few hours ago was still terrible (game = WoTR). 7. Even after running a game, by clicking on NVIDIA high-performance processor, through the context menu of the .exe file, the same performance issues were present. 8. I downloaded GPU Z to look at the hardware sensors wfile in-game. In Watch Dogs, the game lagged out as soon as I left the bedroom (in game), but the gpu load was showing 40-60%, the intel intergrated was about 30%. For the GPU, the capping reason was shown as ultilization, at first but after a few seconds the reason was not displayed. Again, to reiterate, the only time I have seen my games run this poorly was when the laptop was in a low power setting or unplugged. I am baffled at why this has happened. To add more, even browsing the web is slower, the typing has a small lag, and the scrolling isn't smooth, as if there was a high load or a cap, just like when it is in a low power setting. Pwease help :'( I have scoured the net for an answer but their solutions end at 'change to high performance setting' or 'enable GPU in NVIDIA CP'.
