I was looking for some recommendations for some low profile gpus for a Kodi htpc build I have. I was thinking either a gt 1030 or Rx 550 but anything under $100 is ok by me as long as it can output 4k. Mostly gonna be local file play with some streaming.

Hi, I’m planning to sell my old GT 1030 (I know ) and to test if it’s still working, I paired it with a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU with updated drivers and getting about 40fps on Dota 2. I know it’s a bottleneck and the performance, as expected, is not okay. I browsed some YouTube benchmarks of GT 1030 paired with a more balanced CPU and they're getting more than 60fps or better than my current test combo. This means that the GPU is bottlenecking my CPU, right? If the GT 1030 is paired with a lower CPU, it would perform better, right? I’m just wondering.

Budget (including currency): Hoping it won't go past $500 (~P25,000 here) Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming: at 1080p, Subnautica, Minecraft (modded), CSGO, Outlast, Bloons TD 6, GTA V, Fallout NV. I'm not really into the big AAA titles with super realistic graphics, more so thinking of playing older 2010s games and newer indie games, meaning they're not the most graphic demanding games Productivity: Krita, 6k resolution digital art work, Da Vinci Resolve, 720p resolution video work (used to be Filmora 'til I realized Da Vinci is free) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Recently got into PC building™ and realized how bad my current set up is, like, really bad. So if you think the parts I want to upgrade might look a bit dated in today's standards, then you need to look at what I'm using right now (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DfJFRv) I couldn't list down case or PSU because pcpartpicker doesn't have them in their catalogue, but it's all packed in an Intex IT-516 case, with the PSU being built in to it, most likely not manufactured from reputable brands (It uses spaghetti cables so that probably gives you a good idea on the quality of it). Big red flags you may have noticed is how I don't have an SSD running as boot drive, using only single channel RAM (at a sad 2400mHz due to my mobo + CPU combo) or that I have a poor man's GT 1030 as my graphics card, where a few benchmarks later I've come to realize this is the one component I really need to upgrade the most. With that in mind, I'm looking to upgrade my current rig into something that's much more manageable (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CDwwLs) ofc i'll still be keeping my old hard drive Good news is, I already have the dual channel RAM and the NVMe SSD, they're sitting right here on my desk right now as I'm typing this, I will be installing them by the weekend. Now if you look at the part list you'll notice how everything is a lot costly, no idea why the CV550 costs like that, but here in my country, local shops sell them for much cheaper. And I plan to get a used 1660 from Facebook marketplace, hopefully making everything cost under $500. Unsure if I'll buy everything in bulk, will probably get GPU first, then get everything else after so I can half case swap (I say half since I'd only really case swap the GPU and the HDD) Peripherals I don't really mind them, I'm sporting a 60hz monitor and maybe I'll get a 75hz one in the future. lmk what your thoughts are ^^ perhaps you have part suggestions that do better for around the same price, or maybe I need a higher wattage for my GPU + CPU combo, would love to know!

Nowadays for most peoples best options, you can get an iGPU (Vega 7 in this case,) or get a cheap GPU like the GT 1030. Which is the best for short-term? GT 1030 is more expensive, but maybe more powerful, idk. Vega 7 is only on the 5600G, but people say it’s fine. Which one is better for the “short-term can’t get a GPU?”

I've got a GT 1030 in my media PC which has an HDMI 2.0b port. My TV supports HDMI 2.1, but because the card itself is limited to 18Gbps I am stuck with 4k30. Is my best bet to run 10 bit at 4:2:2? I've heard this is better than 8 bit 4:4:4 for movies but I will also be viewing text in windows. Am I understanding this correctly? In theory I could get a GPU with HDMI 2.1 but I expect that would be prohibitively expensive. Alternatively, I could seek out a card with displayport and then convert from displayport to HDMI 2.1...

Hi everyone I have an issue with a build and some ultra wide monitors. To be precise in my build I have a GT 1030, 16gb ram and R5 2600X CPU. My GT 1030 has an HDMI port and a DisplayPort port. I recently bought two LG Ultrawide 29WP500-B. Those monitors only have HDMI so for one i use a regular HDMI cable and for the other I use a DP to HDMI cable (not an adapter). When I plug both monitors on the card the first one to be plugged in loses color accuracy and quality (the colors dont look good and it looks a bit pixelated). When I plug them individually (to test the cables) eveything works perfectly fine with either cable. That issue only occurs when i Plug the second LG to my GT 1030 regardless the cable. Is that a graphics card issue? Help please!

So I just got a prebuilt PC for Christmas and I am trying to play games on it, but it shows that the GPU is inactive while im playing games on task manager plus NVIDIAs driver activity display. I noticed that games perform the exact same if not worse compared to my last PC, which had very similar specs but no GPU, and the only exception that I've seen is on Roblox. There's also been some issue with games freezing where they wouldn't on my old desktop. I've tried doing certain things like going deep into settings, trying things articles and NVIDIA reccomended, getting video drivers, going through BIOS menu (for some reason its pretty much impossible to get there since the manufacturer of this prebuilt doesn't list the key to get there), etc. I hope that someone can figure out the issue with my PC. Specs and information should be here, on the website I bought it from (https://blairtech.com/periphio-portal-lite-gaming-pc-desktop-computer-tower-intel-core-i5-3-2ghz-16gb-ram-120gb-ssd-500gb-hdd-windows-10-nvidia-gt1030-2gb-wifi/). GPU is only connect to PSU, not plugged in to an outlet. Before you ask, yes I have the latest video drivers for NVIDIA.

Am having issues with my computer where it just back screens, when the screen goes black the keyboard tuns off (lights) like if I've just shut down the computer. However everything else inside the PC is on and running lights are on and I have no idea why this is happening. This happed before I cleaned the CPU which did have some black residue on the pins, this has only started to happen recently and hasn't happened before until now. This mainly happens when I click on an application like chrome, I've installed the drivers for the GPU put a old GPU in to see if it was my GPU however the problem still persists with the other GPU. I have a feeling that it could be my CPU socket but am.not 100% on this since it's only started recently.

Hello everybody! I have a particular problem with my setup: cpu i5-11400f motherboard h510m s2h ram 2x8gb thermaltake 3000 mhz memory m2 240 gb kingston The following happens: for some reason, it does not show image by this video card. I tried other gpu, and yes! works. I updated the bios, I checked everything, but I still do not fix it. I can't buy another video graphics at the moment, and I can't use the pc for this reason. I did not find solutions or help anywhere. I would greatly appreciate your advice and help on this.

I bought A pre-built PC, with a Ryzen 3 3100 CPU and a GT 1030 graphics card. I want to know your opinions on whether the Graphics Card will be a bottleneck on my PC, and if I should upgrade it. (Link to PC on Amazon)

Hey All! This is my first post here, I recently bought a GT 1030 (specifically the MSI Geforce GT 1030 2gh LP ocv1) and it has no video output. My PC is a HP Compaq 6300 Pro SFF with an i5-3570 8 GB DDR3-1333 MHZ and a 475 GB Samsung SSD. It used to have video output but it's only in the BIOS and even then when I booted into Windows 10 it had no video output. I need to know if I need to refund or just fix something

Hello guys I am new to the pc world and since i am a student in a third world country with a horrible economy all i could buy was used components and as you can tell my specs are really below average for gaming. I used to get 60 plus fps before the update in valorant but after the update the fps keeps dropping below 60 fps in gunfight. What could be the case here what can i do to solve this issue? Is my ram causing it? I am also at 720p but that doesnt change anything there is something off here because on youtube fps test videos at 1080p at ultra people get 60 plus with this card. My specs: 6gb ram i3-3240 3.4 ghz asus h61m-pro mb Thanks for helping.

I've managed to make it work, but I don't know why my GT 1030 shows up as Standard VGA Adaptor in the Device manager.

My cpu temperature is in between 69°C-74°C (not going over 75°C) while playing Rainbow Six Siege. Cpu usage is 70%-80% while the gpu usage is 100%. Is this cpu temperature normal with intel stock cooler? specs are - i3-10100 10th gen with stock cooler, GT 1030 and 2x8gb 2400mhz ram.

Hello, I already asked this question but I'm afraid I wasn't exactly specific enough. I got an HP Elite 8200, it has that OEM HP PSU that is rated at 240W max, my model has the i7 2600 so it's rated at 95W TDP. I also got the 500 GB 7200 RPM HDD, 4 sticks of 2 GB DDR3 1333 MHZ RAM (8 GB in total, and all 4 slots consumed,) I have an optical drive, and I also have the Asus VP228 (the one that is 75 HZ.) I want to put a low profile GDDR5 GT 1030 in this machine, my only concern however, is the power supply. With my system being under load, and having this exact monitor, will the 240W power supply be able to handle the GT 1030? It is rated 30W max, however I'm not sure if I will have enough headroom for that? And, if so, will it last long term (2 years), or will the PSU or anything else die early on as a result of it. Thanks in advance.

Hello! I'm not active on the LTT forums, but I was going to ask if it was worth buying a GTX 1650 Low Profile for my HP SFF. I found the card online for 290$ but I don't know if there is any better Low Profile GPU I can fit in my SFF. My specs for my pc are the following : (The Pre-build itself is a HP elitedesk 800 g2) i7 6700 at 3.4GHz 16GB DDR4 Ram ran at 2133MHz GT 1030 2GB DDR5 I plan to use this PC for Wii U emulation, along with pc games such as GTA V and Rise Of The Tomb Raider. Not sure if I should just wait a few months for prices to drop or something else

I'm running an AMD WX2100 GPU (DP 1.4) on an older HP SFF PC as my media machine, mostly streaming YouTube through Chrome on Windows. I have a DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter, which works well 90% of the time. The 10% of the time I will either: Be unable to wake the machine, and need to power cycle it (it will shutdown gracefully if the power button is pressed The display will black out and come back a couple of seconds later and I will be unable to increase the refresh rate to 60hz I think drivers could be playing a part in this, as Windows continues to install a 2021 driver no matter how many times I install a newer 2022 version, even after I disabled the setting that allows Windows to install drivers automatically. Could this also be a cabling or driver support issue? I am considering throwing in the towel and buying a used GT 1030 that also has DP 1.4 and see if that works better. In general I have not had good luck with AMD cards... (I know that 2160p60 *should* be possible with HDMI 2.0, but I have never been able to run above 30HZ when I tested this with the non DP 1030 I have. I expect this is due to me not enabling subsampling, but I would like to avoid doing this, hence the DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter).

I have an Asus low profile GT 1030 connected to my 4k TV and I am stuck at 30 hz. I have tried: Multiple cables Checked that the card has HDMI 2.0 Used both Windows 10 and Linux No matter what I try, I am stuck at 4k30 even with cables "rated" for HDMI 2.0. Is there anything else I can try, or do I need to buy a GT 1030 with a DP connector so I can use an HDMI 2.1 adapter?

I know its dumb. So Im trying to get ray tracing enable in Minecraft win 10 edition. But they thought of people like me and made it so only people with rtx cards can do it. Just looking for a way to get past the road blocks.
