Hello There, So this is my last resort cause I was not able to find much useful and working info on this on the web. So I have a gaming laptop and the specs are as follows: HP - 15-ec2xx CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H Graphics 1: RTX 3050 mobile, Memory: 4GB GDDR6 SDRAM Graphics 2: (Integrated) AMD Cezanne - Internal GPU, Memory: 512 MB DDR4 SDRAM RAM: 32GB DDR4 So my issues are: Whenever I start a game (GTA5 and RDR), the RTX graphics card or AMD card is used. I won't use the RTX card often and that makes the CPU go nuts it takes most of the game load and overheats. To make sure I am not making any other cooling mistakes. I made sure to clean my laptop and also did a repaste, the temps did improve and reduced quite a bit but the GPU issues persist. The second issue I have is that I am not able to train any AI&ML models, I know that 4GB is a pretty low amount of RAM to do any AI&ML training but it's also more than enough to train a few small models to manage quite minute tasks. and I use Python Torch for basic AI&ML training and torch won't acknowledge the RTX GPU nor the AMD GPU and tries to build/train the model using the CPU. What I did to tackle this: I tried a multitude of driver options and also installed dev support for my GPU. I tried installing Ubuntu in duel boot and tried running my training model on that but the same issue persists. I tried using other libraries to train the models and they also failed to detect the GPUs. I tried installing any drivers I found and ran all the tests, but none worked. I tried the Nvidia-utils to detect I have the GPU present and that worked. What should I do? What can I do? How can I determine the issue?

graphicscard ASRock Challenger RX 6600 8GB GPU two monitors?
leahxml posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi!! I just recently finished my first build- I have the ASRock Challenger RX6600 GPU in my motherboard (with a AMD Ryzen 5 5600G cpu) and ive been having issues trying to connect a second monitor and was curious if anyone had any tips on troubleshooting. Integrated graphics has been turned off and my main monitor is plugged into my GPU in the HDMI port, the second monitor I want to use is a display port cable and every time I attempt to plug it into the GPU it either says no signal found or my main monitor will go black and the second monitor will boot up (but not post into BIOS) and then completely shut off back into the no signal screen (the second monitor is a dell monitor that doesn't even have an HDMI port and only has VGA and dp so im wondering if its too old for the graphics card). Ive tried different cords and It gives the same result. If anyone has any idea why this happening I would be most grateful!! Would love a second monitor in my setup so would love a solution : D -
Hello! Built my first PC over the past couple of weeks, but can’t get 3D mark graphics tests to complete without crashing. This problem carries over to games like Elden Ring and Overwatch, too – any time I boot a game, it freezes and crashes within a couple of minutes, if not immediately. Event viewer points me to nvwgf2umx.dll, but graphics updates and DDUs don’t solve the problem. Also note, outside of games, everything works fine. No BSOD and system is stable other than an occasional Chrome crash. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? PC Specs and the brick of tests I’ve completed are found below. CPU: i7-13700k – used from ebay. GPU: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER OC RAM: gSkill Ripjaw DDR5 6800mHz 2x16gb Mobo: MSI Tomahawk z790 Wifi DDR5 – open box from ebay Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2Tb AIO: Corsair h115i elite capellix xt Case fans: 4x Corsair AF120 PSU: Corsair 750e OS: Windows 10 Pro Completed tests: GPU: Checked temps. Max 60C under load. Rolled back drivers to previous rev. Disabled WIFI, DDU drivers in safe mode, update drivers with local file (WIFI still disabled). Checked electrical connections/reseated GPU. Installed my GPU in friend’s system – WORKS. Installed my GPU and SSD in friend’s system – WORKS. RAM: Ran Passmark. All OK except Database Operations = failed Ran Memtest86 Ensured Ram is in slots 2 & 4. Disabled/ enabled XMP on RAM. Tried 6800mHz, 5600Mhz and 4800mHz. Tried just one stick of ram. Then the other. Tried a different set of RAM (corsair vengeance RGB DDR5 6000mHz). CPU: Ran Passmark. All OK except Physics = failed Checked idle temps. ~36C. max ~60C under load Mobo: Updated BIOS. OS: Started on windows 11 Pro. Clean reinstall Windows 11 Pro from windows installation media. Clean installed Windows 10 Pro.

I'm looking into upgrading my PC once again, a complete re-haul but I've been indecisive on my GPU choice since prices are through the roof. I'm mainly looking between the RX 7800 XT and the 4070ti, though I am open to other suggestions (though the 7900xt and 4080 and above are way out of my price range) Looking to play games at 1440p, mainly competitive shooters with the most demanding game being Escape from Tarkov (I would love to run streets at more than 60 frames ). My current plan for specs are: CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D Mobo: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX Micro ATX (Likely to opt for the ATX version) RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Cooler: (Looking for a 240-360mm AIO, taking suggestions) Case: Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower Case Storage: (Looking for an m.2 drive, probably no larger than 2TB, also taking suggestions) If I can give any more information to inform suggestions just lmk. Cheers!

Hi, I am building a high-medium end computer and after a fair bit of research, budgeting and talking to experts, are the parts I have chosen. I know this isn't strictly graphics card related but that is the main part I spent my time choosing. I far from an expert and computer tech and would like the opinions of some people who actually know what they are doing. This is copy and pasted from a spreadsheet I have made, so please excuse any formatting errors. I just want to know are these good choices, will they all work together, does the motherboard support that CPU and does the PSU support the graphics card and etcetera. Also, am I missing anything? (Case is being provided by the shop that is building it.) Thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond. I am looking at building a pc upgrade and have found this listing for a 4090, the only issue is that I have never seen this version before. It's called an RTX 4090 OEM edition and apparently only came in an Alienware pre-built. Has any one seen this before and can confirm it has the same power and specifications of the regular 4090? (Picture from listing)

Just curious because I wanna save as much money as possible.

Hey guys, New here so apologize if this is in the wrong location. Have been having an issue the past few months with my 2080 Super where I'll be mid-game - sometimes 10 seconds in, sometimes 10 minutes, where both of my screens will lose signal and GPU fans will ramp up. I am still able to hear audio from the game, but the only way to recover is to hard reset the PC as it is unresponsive. I have done some research on forums and have tried to follow the advice listed, but haven't seen any improvement. What I have noticed: There doesn't seem to be any thermal issues before the crash (the max I am reaching is 68.9C/156F or 81.0C/177.8F on hotspot after re-applying thermal paste) No drastic power spikes that I can see before the crash It can happen in more graphically intense games like Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 or Baldurs Gate (where it first occurred) or less demanding games like Warcraft III, WoW Classic etc. It only happens under load IN GAMES - I can't replicate it FurMark and there are no issues when not gaming. What I have tried: Replacing PCIe cables Using different PCIe outs on PSU Dedusted/cleaned GPU Re-pasted GPU (seems to have lowered temps on GPU + hotspot by ~5C, but hasn't helped the main issue) Locking frame rates Cleaning drivers with DDU and rolling back to previous iterations Underclocked GPU by ~300MHz Still having the issues no matter what I have tried. My PC: CPU: 3900x GPU: 2080 Super - Gigabyte Windforce OC 8GB RAM: 32GB DDR4 2666 PSU: 650w EVGA Supernova 80+ Gold CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken x52 Below I have attached some HWiNFO logs: The first is a run launching "The Finals" game from Steam, loading into practice range, and experiencing the crash about ~1:10 mark The second is after re-pasting, this is me running FurMark with no issues. Only a short run, granted but the crashes have never taken long under full load before. The third run is also after re-pasting and running "The Finals" loading into practice range and experiencing the crash around the ~1:30 mark Would really love and appreciate any feedback - this is my first hardware issue out of warranty and would love to try and sort this if at all possible. Please let me know if you want me to test/log anything in particular and I can try my best to help! Thank you very much for your time, I really appreciate it. I've got a NAS I built three years ago back when I was still young and dumb. It has a motherboard with just a single PCIEe slot. I use the NAS for media storage and run a Plex Media Server off of it. The OS is TrueNAS Core and I have been loving the experience. So much so that I also upgraded all of my networking to 10gig. I added a 10gig PCIE card to the NAS and off i was. Now that the networking has improved I tend to store higher quality media on the server. Since then, my Plex experience has been rough because my poor Intel Core i5 can't handle all the transcoding. So I want to add a GPU of some sorts. Still on the fence which GPU to get because transcoding is kind of in flux with the AV1 revolution. I'm not looking to buy a new card though, so RX7000 and RTX4000 are out of the question. Any budget suggestions are welcome My real issue is that I obviously only have one PCIe slot. I think it's PCIe gen 3 even. Does anyone know a way to convert the single slot to dual slots? I was thinking of maybe some kind of riser but I can't really find what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Hey, I recently upgraded from my MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8G to the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X OC Edition. I have two Monitors connected to it via Displayport (ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ & iiyama G-MASTER G2730HSU-B1) and a TV via HDMI (LG OLED C2). Before everything was working fine, but after installing the new card, one of the monitors says it has no signal. The weird thing is that it gets a signal and wakes from sleep the second I turn on the TV. After that I can turn the TV off again and the monitor stays on. This problem occurs after every cold boot (so after the pc was turned off for a while) but not after a restart or short boot. I changed some cables and found out, that whatever monitor is connected to the primary displayport (the one left of the hmdi port) is the one that gets a signal after a cold boot and the one connected to either of the other two displayports gets no signal until I turn on the TV. I thought I may got a card with faulty porty, but after sending it back and receiving a completely new ASUS TUF 4070, this problem persists. So it has to be another thing about my system. I also bought new Displayport 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 cables and this didn't fix it. I don't have the problem when I put my old 2070 back in. So could it be a compatibility-issue with my other hardware? Mainboard, CPU, anything? I feel like I'm going insane... thanks in advance :) My System: Intel Core i9-10900K MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3000MHz ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X OC Edition (before it was the MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8G)

When we put the GPU on the motherboard, it has this buzzing sound from the motherboard speaker and has no display even when we connect the HDMI to the motherboard. Then when we took out the GPU, the buzzing sound is gone from the speaker and there is a display. Still does it even though we put it back. Any solutions to this?

My specs: Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Memory (RAM): Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 XMP Motherboard: MSI X470 GAMING PLUS MAX (MS-7B79) Power supply: 750 watts be quiet! Pure Power 12M Modular 80+ Gold Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT HDD / SSD: WD_BLACK SN750 NVMe Hello everybody, my first time posting, because I don’t know what to do anymore. Sorry in advance, English is not my first language. A few days ago, I booted up my PC to play some games. Booted up normally and played for a little bit. Left the PC for a while to do some shopping. The PC was still on and was on the desktop. When I got back to my room, all I could hear was all the fans on full speed. The screen was black. No picture. I had to turn off the PC manually. When I restarted the computer, no signal. Screen stayed black. I left the computer off for a while and tried to start it again. PC turned on and again, no signal. I had the suspicion that it could be the graphics card. Opened up the case and turned the PC on. The graphics card gets power because the fans are spinning. It’s an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT. I had this card for about 3 months without any issue. Then I pulled it out and installed my old GTX 1060. It was immediately recognized and I had a picture. Great I thought, it is the graphics card. Then I installed my brothers Radeon RX 6950 XT for testing... Same problem again. No picture. I also used different PCI slots on the motherboard. No signal on the Radeon cards, but the GTX 1060 works immediately on all PCI slots. I put the cards in and out several times and checked all the plugs again and again. I updated the BIOS, I used the Display port and HDMI. Always the same outcome. I installed both cards (my 6800XT and my brother's 6950XT) at a friend’s PC. He has the exact same power supply with an MSI B550-A Pro and a Ryzen 5600x. Again… no signal from BOTH cards. Fans go on, card lights up... So apparently, they get power. Then installed his Radeon 6700 again and immediately picture. I took my old GTX 1060 with me as well to test it. Of course, I got a picture at his PC. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Hey Everyone I have a really old Monitor, 1080p 60hz ~~ 120hz (marketing), an old 3d Asus VG278H. I bought it about 10 years ago and its still going strong, but i want an upgrade. My current Graphics card is an Asus RTX2060 6GB OC, since i will be upgrading my monitor i think i should upgrade my graphics card too as it might struggle with newer monitors. I haven't decided on a new monitor as of yet, but i will most likely go 1440p, 144hz, as I've read that's a good jump from 60hz. The Graphics card i am thinking of is a 3080, its a nice jump from my 2060, or would it be worth my while going straight to the 40 series, like a 4070. I am kind of budget conscience, i don't want to spend lots of money on a 4090, as i probably wont use it to its full potential. I play games, currently playing Diablo 4, i will play Starfield when it comes out, and will probably get into Baldur's Gate at some point. I mainly use my computer for watching content, with the odd gaming, when a title comes out i like. I'm not competitive, so i don't need the bee's knees. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Current Spec CPU: Ryzen R5 5600x MoBo: Asus ROG Strix B550-A Gaming Ram: 16Gb 3200 Graphics: Asus RTX2060 6GB OC

I have the strangest issue that I have encountered while troubleshooting. My brother had an RX580 in his computer which he gifted to my dad through an upgrade. When my dad tried to use the graphics card in his computer (upgrading from a gt 1030 I believe) the computer began to not boot to the bios. Weirded out by this I tested the card in my computer swapping out my GTX 1080ti for it. Now both computers don't boot to bios no matter the hardware configuration in them, I have no idea what could have caused this but it's almost as if they have corrupted bios but I cant even get into the bios to reflash it. This is a hail mary hoping that someone else has had a similar issue and can give any advice.

hello everyone, I'll give you a context of the situation, about 8 months ago I bought an rx vega 56 and I did its respective maintenance because it is a card that generates a lot of heat, a few days ago the temperatures rose again and the card began to make a lot of noise due to its disgusting dissipation of stock, again I did its maintenance but now the card does not turn on and only one of its leds turns on for a second and turns off and does not give video, someone could help me or someone who has had a vega 56 could help me? Built my pc about a month ago. Seems to run fine, but noticed a status LED for VGA is lit. Noticed the LED last week. I had my 3070 powered with one cable from the psu, so I added another cable and the led went away. This lasted a few days, but now the LED is back. All drivers up to date, no updates available. BIOS version F23, up to date. Would like advice on how to troubleshoot. All other topics I found are for GPU's not posting, mine is seeming to work fine. PC is working as expected. I have been seeing a few used 3080ti GPUs for sale in the greater London area of the UK with sub £300($380usd) price tags, mostly around the £280($350usd). With the current 4070 cards selling new at £580+($720usd+). Buying a used 3080ti seems like the best option for me as I am planning to upgrade my GPU shortly. But I am intrigued to know of this used pricing is a local UK phenomenon or is it similar to used pricing globally? But to me it either seems like a great deal or the obvious potential for scammers with dying cards. Is it work the risk? Thoughts?

A friend of mine got this GTX 1650 during GPU crisis for 350€. Now he wants to get more performance out of it, as our other Friends GTX 1650 performs much better than his. I thought of overclocking it. He has the ASUS PH-GTX1650-O4GD6. I took a look at his card and saw this. No PCI power connector and much less Transistors on the back than the normal Version of this Card. Turns Out that there are two versions that are named exactly the same, but one has only gddr 5 and no PCI power connector! It also has much worse Performance. This is the gddr 6 Version of the Same card with the Same name: The Name "ASUS PH-GTX1650-O4GD6" falsely suggests, that it is a gddr 6 Card but there are two versions named the Same, one with gddr 6 and PCI power connector one with gddr 5 and no PCI power! The differences between the two versions arent specified on Asus' website, nor on the site of the vendor that sells it. Is there any possible way for us to get it to performing better?

My new graphics card was completely silent at first but eventually it started developing coil whine. I've noticed that it only does this when using HDMI from the mobo but never when using the display cable however when my CPU's integrated graphics is disabled the coil whine completely disappears when using the mobo HDMI port so I'm wondering why is this happening and is it possible to fix this without disabling the integrated GPU altogether.

i have an rx5500 gpu (not xt) and it just recently stopped working completely. To give a little background, i had bought a new mobo and cpu, i remembered i didnt have a fan that would work wth the new mobo so i tried using the exhaust fan and ofc it didnt cool the cpu, so i tried once again with an incompatible cpu fan and it worked for a sec then overheated, so then i moved everything back to my old mobo including my old cpu, and the gpu didnt work, i tried the gpu on the new one and it didnt work either.. im not sure if i had to much esd and killed it or if theres still hope... if theres anyway to remove esd or troubleshoot this PLEASE REPLY!!!
