Hey, I installed the FPS unlocker mod for Elden Ring a few days ago and I love that there is developers out there doing this kind of stuff for games that force Vsync at 60fps. However, the performance is not as good as I expected it to be. I reach roughly 75-100 fps on 1440p (max settings) with my setup and I've read that that people with similar setups are reaching 60fps at 4K. I've messed around with the settings in-game and they don't seem to be affecting fps more than 5-10. During gameplay I see that GPU-Z logs roughly 30-40% GPU Usage with PerfCap Reason: Idle which I find strange. CPU usage is roughly 20%. No temperature bottlenecks anywhere. Anyone who has experienced similar issues? Is this an ELDEN RING issue? Is there anything I could do that will impact my FPS and get my to higher GPU and CPU usage. Wish I could get it to lock on 165fps. RTX 4080 3900X 32GB RAM

Ive started to notice that ever since i got my new gpu its started to cause small freezes in some of my games, mainly prison architect and warthunder. I was wondering if anyone had a solution ive tried everything from reinstalling windows to reinstalling drivers using ddu. Ive tried looking at everything using hwmonitor and gpu-z but nothing stands out besides the usage dropping to 0%. Ive got a r5 3600, rtx2060s, evga 650w 80+ gold, 2x8 16gb 2666mhz. Ive looked through tens of forums trying to find a solution but nothing has worked.

Hello, Im having low fps despite low cpu and gpu usage. It doesnt go above 40% but my fps is 53 at ultra on Dota 2. If I decrease the quality setting my fps increases. But why would it not use more recourse to get me more FPS on ultra? I don't know what to do. My gpu drivers are up to date and my psu is enough 550 wats. The temperature of CPU and GPU are also fine. Everything is set to high preformance. This problem occurred recently before that i used to play on ultra with no problem. Any advice will be appreciated. Also will it help if i upgrade my gpu and get like an gtx1050. I just dont know why my utilization is so low My spec are Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2 CPU: i3 4130 GPU: GTX 750 TI RAM: 2x4 1333 Mhz

Funny enough I know exactly when it started, but I can't make any sense of it... I've been setting a custom fan curve in Afterburner, so it would start spinning fans at 45C since my GPU always idles around 40C... Anyway I kind of forgot about it and half an hour later I noticed my fans were spinning really fast and it was the GPU fans... temp almost 50C... for no apparent reason... So I check taskmanager and, those two processes running happily using my GPU... under 1% mind you but obviously enough to make it run a lot hotter than it should. And the kicker is as soon I move my mouse a little it goes up to around 15% usage...?? Thats certainly not normal or good... I can find tons of people with the same issue, but no fix apparently. I tried updating windows but that was pointless because it's still doing it, constantly... Any ideas how to fix this and why it happens? When doing nothing: When moving my mouse: These are the processes, or at least two of them ... I understand they need to be running, but certainly don't need to constantly use up my GPU? never had this issue before either... PS: just checked the GPU "idle" temp is now really +5C more... at 45C, because it's not really idling anymore obviously... I really hope there's a solution.

I'm getting awful performance and low GPU usage (usually 10%-30%) while playing DX11 games. My CPU usage is also low, so I know that this is not a CPU bottleneck. My GPU & CPU temps are also not getting too hot. My GPU core clock is not rising and the GPU temps stays around 40c because it isn't doing any work. CPU temps are staying below about 75c at all times. Games running DX12, Vulkan, & OpenGL are working as expected with high GPU usage (usually 98%-99%). Heaven and Superposition both work correctly. Games that can have multiple API options such as Valheim, 7 Days To Die, and Rise Of The Tomb Raider only have this issue when running in DX11 mode. Other games that I have tried that are DX11 only have this issue such as Dirt Rally 2.0 and Star Wars Squadrons. The only DX11 game I've tried that runs properly is Jedi Fallen Order. The things I have tried include updating to the latest nvidia driver and then trying an older version from a few months ago. I tried uninstalling MSI Afterburner and Riva Statistics Tuner. I'm on the latest nvidia driver (511.23). I'm also on the latest Windows 10 update. My system is Ryzen 5800x on Asus B550f with 32GB Crucual Ballistix 3600 CL16 and Asus 1080Ti. The GPU was carried over from an old build. I built this system in August, but I just discovered the issue a couple days ago. Has anyone experienced this? I'd love some pointers for what to try next.

Hello i have a problem and i think my gaming build is bottlenecking. I have upgraded from my MSI Aero GTX 1060 6GB to a HP founders edition GTX 1070 8GB and i love the gpu so far but there is a problem. The gpu usage is not always 100% (see screenshots) only in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 when i am above 2k feet. On other AAA games i still dont get 100% gpu usage. I uninstalled the old drivers + the new drivers for the GTX 1070 but didnt helped then i did a complete reset from Windows 11 and this didnt helped. But i hope you guys can help me here, thanks in advance! if you want more games with test please comment down!. sry for my english Pc Specs Windows 11 Build 22000.556 GTX 1070 8GB HP Founders Edition (Driver Update Version 511.79) No Overclock Intel Core i5 8400 2.80GHz No Overclock Mainboard MSI H310M PRO-D Intel stock cooler SSD Intenso 512GB HDD 2TB Seagate 16GB RAM 2400Mhz (XMP is active)

Specs: GPU: RTX 3070 8GB GAMING OC (rev 2.0) CPU: AMD 5 Ryzen 3600 RAM: Corsair vengeance 16gb 3000mhz MoBo: MSI B550-A-PRO PSU: Corsair RM750W I've been getting low GPU and CPU usage in various games I've been playing (Hell Let Loose, Squad, Tarkov) the usage varies depending what game but is always low, in HLL my GPU can sometimes be 20-40% and CPU around the same. I play on Ultra settings at 1080p resolution. HLL I get 50 FPS, Squad I get 90 FPS, Tarkov is around 70-80 FPS. I've tried various fixes which include: Adjusting Nvidia Panel 3D panel settings e.g turning power management to high performance, setting a few other settings to high performance. I've performed a DDU and installed latest driver and even before that I did I manual uninstall and installed the latest driver. I've updated BIOS, Ive updated MoBo Drivers, I've turned off Xbox Game bar and gaming mode. I've turned off high precision event timer, I've turned off fast boot. I made sure my RAM is Dual Channelling. I reset BIOS and made sure to change RAM MHZ to 3000. My power mode is set to Ryzen High Performance. I feel Like I've done everything at this point. I built this pc about 4 months ago but had a 1050ti in it as I was unable to get my hands on a GPU, and I got my 3070 about a week ago. Any help would be much appreciated.

Soo, I'm 14 had a job over the summer to pay for a new pc. I bought this pc less than a month ago, and no I did not build one because of gpu prices. It is a hoP pavilion prebuilt with a i3 10100 1650 super and 8gb of ram. For storage i have a 250 gb intel optane m.2 ssd and a 1tb western digital blue. My problem is that as soon as I got the pc, I realized that my temps are normal for a prebuilt, but the gpu and cpu usage is extremely low. For example in Rust, a gpu intensive game, I get about 50% of both gpu and cpu usage and this is even on the highest settings possible. On Call of Duty Warzone, i get around 70% of both in game. In games like Minecraft im getting about 20% gpu and about 10%cpu usage. I have tried everything I can think of and watched way to many youtube videos and read way to many forms. I did a full reset of my gpu drivers using ddu, ive checked bios for anything, but did not see much because the bios is limited. I have even changed everything to high performance in nvidia control panel. pls someone help me this is starting to piss me off. Keep in mind even when games are maxed, expect warzone cuz that is way to much vram.

Do you know what sucks. My corsair HX850 is hard shutting down my pc when I use my 1080 ti and 980ti in blender cycles together. When I use just one of the gpus to render cycles pc stays on. I work in IT support but I really dont get much into the electronics stuff or stuff thats more in the field of an electrician. What I have tried so far is to try one gpu as i stated above. I also tried putting the 1080ti on one pcie wire that has the two ends. I knew that running two wires was easyer on the psu but I wondered if there was a rail issue. In msi afterburning i put both cards to 80% power but it still shut down. I wana try going harder on that and even try lowering the clocks. I put a kelowat meter on the whole system and it read 422w when rending with both gpus. I checked temps of the gpu's and cpu but they were in spec. one gpu is watercooled and the other is a gygabite windforce 3 so the temps are pretty good. CPU is cooled by a notua but its too small for it. I will upgrade it later to water when i can buy the tubes and fittings, Games just use the one gpu so no shutdowns there. My knowlage on the internals of psu's are limited and all I have is a multi meter to test but Its been a few years since my electronics and electricity college course segment. Please help me to keep removing varables until we can identify the cuase. Im guinna sleep cus its late and i have a fleu coming on Here is the pc part picker: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/hTf9TW ps here is a frame of the blender animation i am rendering. PS

I was playing Warzone today and noticed something weird. I'm getting about 100-140FPS depending on what's going on with view distance and so on. But for some reason my CPU (i7 9700k@4.7GHz) is pinned at 100% usage and my GPU (RTX 2080 Super) is running at about 10-15% usage at max. So far there is no problem here but occasionally my FPS will drop to about 40 without any change it utilization. It seems to be random and goes away after a few games (most of the time). Is there any known fix for this since I don't think that a 9700k is that much of a bottleneck. Hello, I have the following problem - My GPU (3060 ti) usage increases to 100% (3D) when idle and taskmgr shows that dwm.exe is using 100%. I reinstalled Windows, reinstalled the drivers, updated the driver to 526.47 (10/27/2022), switched to Studio drivers, disabled every "eyecandy setting" I could, but still it spikes to 100%. Also I can not install the resizable BAR update / or enable it. It seems to happen since the driver version 522.25. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it something that will have virtually no effect on my PC? Thank you for your time and help!

Dear all, I have a problem with my new pre-built pc. When I play games it drops gpu usage and fps during the game (see attached screenshots). It runs smoothly if I do not "move" from my possition during the game, but as soon as it loads new maps or enemies (like in the screenshots), the gps usage drops and I get super low fps and the game stutters. This happens with every graphics intense game I play (e.g. Jedi fallen order, Warzone). Any idea if this is a hardware or software problem? I already tried many solution on the internet like uninstalling (DDU) and reinstalling drivers, turning off Geforce overlay, and changing energy mode to high performance, but nothing works. My gpu usage is dropping from >80% to <5% for a second and then goes back to normal. This is generating stuttering and frame drops. How did I find it: I was having frame drops so I decided to analyze the cpu/gpu through msi afterburner. Then I noticed that my frames were dropping when my gpu usage was falling significantly for no reason. Any recommendation to improve this will help. Hi, I have a problem that when I run call of duty modern warfare 3, my gpu usage is at 0%, it jumps to 40% sometimes but most of the time there is no usage. My cpu usage is around 30~40%. My specs are: Intel Core i5-3470 AMD Radeon XFX Rx 560 Double Dissipitaion OC 4gb Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400Mhz ddr3 8gb ram I think my gpu is not being detected in the game and it is using my igpu. Hi there Whenever I have RTX Voice enabled, it keeps my GPU clock at 1445Mhz. I have all Nvidia power settings set to default. When I disable RTX voice, the clock goes down to normal idle of +-300Mhz, meaning its not any other app. To me, I don't think this is worth the background noise cancellation since I have a laptop and battery life is a consideration. Does anyone know if this is an issue Nvidia will think of as serious? Does RTX voice actually need those high clocks? (Running on a GTX 1660 ti Mobile)

Hello, I have a GTX 1080 and i7 8700k and 16 gb RAM. For some reason I have 0% GPU usage when I play games. Also I don’t have nearly 100% CPU usage I have around 30-40% when playing games my ram is at 50%. Please help me figure out these issues because is games like Fortnite I should be able to easily run 144 FPS but it usually drops frames randomly causing stutters and just feels choppy. Thank you so much!

Hey everyone i have Zotac GTX 1080 Extreme. In some games, (for example GTA 5, Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike Global Offensive) i having GPU usage drops and making stuttering for a moment. Usually it's going between %95-99 but for a moment drops to %40, I even saw %2... I playing with 144hz 1080P monitor but i tried with 2K or 8x MSAA, it's making it worse... Making more laggy struggle for that a moment. But didn't see a problem in Battlefield 1, Star Wars Battlefront, Mafia 3, Hitman, Rise of the Tomb Raider... I don't understand if there is a problem. Solution: If someone finds this thread, I hope I can help: I disabled HPET (high precision timer) and VT-d in the mobo's BIOS, and that solved my problem with the Witcher 3 and DOOM. Those are intel technologies that supposedly work with Win10 to improve performance, but in certain applications (such as these games) they have a negative impact. (I'm not too sure about VT-d, however. So if you use integrated graphics, you might want to leave that enabled.) On my board they were under the "Chipset" tag. (Gigabyte z270 hd3p f5) Original question: Hi everyone, I'd like at least an explanation why the following is going on with my setup. In some games, like Doom, The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and Dark Souls 3, which are quite heavy games as far as I know, nothing in my pc works at its maximum potential. GPU usage is hovering between 40-80%, cpu usage stays around 30-60%, RAM usage is below 6gb, and yet framerate hardly ever reaches even 60 (during easy-to-run scenes). I have an i7 7700k, 8gb hyperx savage, and r9 280x, 680w 80+ gold psu, on Win10 64bit, a single 1920*1080@60 monitor. So far I've found these tips around the web, but they didn't help. Temps are controlled: max 55 on GPU, max 70 on CPU, top 140mm case fan pulling air over the ram. Clockspeeds are as they should be, they never drop under load: 1110/1510mhz (core/mem) on the 280x, 4.9Ghz on the i7, 2400mhz on the ram. There are no framerate limits: no v-sync, no rivatuner limit, no ingame limit Cpu power saving modes and AMD ULPS are disabled (through BIOS and Afterburner) DirectX, GPU driver, BIOS, games are all up to date. I used the latest DDU in safe mode, then installed 17.4.4 Crimson Running background applications are: Gigabyte AppCenter, Rapoo Mouse driver, Realtek audio and Intel rapid storage. I've tried setting the games' priority to high and real time, and have seen no visible improvement. Ingame graphics settings sometimes cause an increase in GPU usage, but still not >90%, framerate stays low (<60). Fullscreen/borderless modes bring no noticeable changes. Win 10 power plan is on high performance. Power connectors are securely attached. Monitor is connected to the 280x, not the mobo. Benchmarks can stress the individual components to 100%, no issue there. AMD control panel is currently not installed, so it can't interfere with anything, but removing it did not help the situation. Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for any insight in advance. In addition: The issue was present on my old AM3+ system, too. Windows had been reinstalled on that, because of corrupted thumbnail cache, but this issue had existed before that corruption, as well. The AM3+ and this Z270 mobo are both Gigabyte boards, but THAT can't be the problem, right?? (they both have the latest BIOS) Also, max bus speed is set to Gen3 in the BIOS. Furthermore: fallout 4, dark souls 3 and assassin's creed syndicate work fine, I'm a dumbass for mentioning them earlier, sorry.

Hey guys, I have an issue in League of Legends, as during teamfights my FPS drops to 40-50 FPS (Not always) which is a crucial part, at the start of the game its up to 200 FPS and laning phase its about 80-100 FPS, other than LoL I play CS:GO and Overwatch, where my FPS seems to be fine, in CS:GO I get about 80-200 FPS on high settings, and I'm not great with computers, but shouldn't the FPS be better on League? I noticed during League of Legends the GPU Load chills at 30%, and CPU usage is around 30-40%, while during CS:GO the GPU Load is about 60-85% and CPU hovers at 80-85% if that helps you with understanding my issue. Also, changing settings in League of Legends does not affect my FPS what so ever, I get same FPS on lowest and highest settings, I even installed a custom map that is super low quality like this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRPVENPlXnsHowever I loaded into a game and my FPS was exactly the same without the map, at 200 when the game starts, whereas the guy on the video improved the FPS a ton, and i'm not willing to use that map, I feel I really dont need it. With my understanding, is the solution to make the CPU / GPU work harder during league of legends? And if so how do I do it? Thanks in advance.Specs:Windows 10 x64Graphics Card: XFX HD 7870 / AMD Radeon HD 7800 SeriesCPU: AMD A8-7650KMotherboard: MSI A68HM GRENADE8 GB Ram

I posted a similar thread but it seems to be dead and none of the solutions I've tried have worked. My gpu tanks while in game, usually hovering around 70-80%, and very rarely getting into the 90's. This cause my fps to usually max out in the 80's, and getting as low as 50 in some scenarios. And oddly enough the usage seems to go down when there are more intensive moments that would demand more usage. My gpu temperatures don't get higher than 70c. My cpu hangs around ~75% usage and around 55c. Looking back I feel that this trend may have started a year ago when I updated from windows 8 to 10. I'm not sure though. I can't come up with any solution What I've tried: Fresh driver install Fresh install of Windows Switching PCI-E ports Swapping out identical cards Made sure Nvidia control panel was set to prefer max performance Made sure power options in windows were set to high performance Build: i7 4790k @ 4.7ghz MSI z97 g45 gaming MSI 980 ti Corsair Vengeance Pro ddr3 16gb 8x2 1866 Playing @ 1080p 144hz Here are some afterburner graphs while in game:

I've been having issues with GPU usage in demanding games such as Battlefield 1 and Witcher 3. In Battlefield 1 my gpu usage drops as low as 50%, and I got fps as low as 35 during intense visual moments where usage should be at it's peak. I get max usage when benchmarking and get good scores, so it makes me wonder why my gpu under performs in games. My GPU temps are in the hover around 60-70C, and my CPU runs around 55-60c, so there shouldn't be any throttling. I've already tried: Clean installing windows and drivers Made sure nvidia settings were at max performance and windows was set at high performance Used the windows memory tool to see if my ram was bad, it wasn't. Sacrificing my roommates to Nvidia because i can't for the life of me figure this out. I'm going to put my friends card in my computer later this week to see if it is a hardware issue, since we both have 980 ti's. Specs: i7 4790k @ 4.7ghz MSI z97 g45 gaming MSI 980 ti w/ Nvidia reference cooler (1458 MHz, Memory at 3856MHz) The issues also were occurring before I overclocked it.
