So for the past year, I've been trying to get Windows XP to run natively on my 2014 Lenovo B50-70 laptop. I only succeeded yesterday, as at last the conditions were perfect, where I installed it with E2B successfully, the HDD was in MBR and such. However I quickly discovered a problem; There does not exist a single video driver for the integrated or AMD GPU it has; I looked everywhere. I tried some chipset drivers, nothing works. It's stuck without a video driver and it sucks bad, video playback barely works at a somewhat close to 25-30 FPS when you make the window small. The GPU's are the Radeon R5 M230 and the Intel HD Graphics 4400. Does anyone know of anything I could do? Maybe somehow apply Windows 7 drivers to XP? Do not question why I installed it, I just find it fun and I like XP and using XP. I installed Windows XP 32-bit SP3 by the way.

Hi! Yesterday I got a concerning issue, my desktop doesn't boot. When booting up i get the bios screen, then the windows loading and then it gets black. The HDD led stops blinking after a little while too. This happened when I didn't have a monitor and no mouse/keyboard connected to it, since I was working with my other computer while this one was supposed to boot up, when I connected my monitor and all it was black. I highly suspect it has something to do with my AMD GPU. I know this from WhoCrashed: There was a crash log directly after but it contained nothing (Like it said "Custom error" or something with 0x0 as Bugcheck code). After I took this image I tried several things along side recover to an earlier date and I lost the logs and such What I have tried so far: * Windows safe mode - Almost worked "flawlessly" (aside from the fact that I couldn't open Windows update and internet issues) * Recovery to earlier date * Windows diagnostics * Remove graphics drivers in safe mode The last point is the most interesting because when I did that I could boot up as ordinary, for 2-3 minutes (with low resolution) and then my computer crashes and I get the black screen after I login on my windows account. Could that be a heating issue? But why don't I have the same time limit on the safe mode? (since I have used it for a much longer time than that). I have no idea how to fix this ----Desktop setup: ---- CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88M EXTREME4+ Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 270 2GB Core Edition Video Card Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Windows 8.1, x64 I purchased the OS. Age of system: 6 years Age of OS: 6 years (havent re-installed as I remember) ---- ----- Edit: After a weekend of investigation I have concluded that my GPU is allergic of GPU drivers now... Every attempt to install a AMD driver gave the same result towards a black screen crash.

So i manage to upgrade my pc from ryzen 3 3200g and 8gb ram into this new spec : - Motherboard : Asrock B450M-HDV (old) - CPU : Ryzen 5 4500 (new) - RAM : ADATA DDR4 XPG GAMMIX D30 2x8gb 3200mhz (new) - GPU : XFX Radeon RX 6600 (new) - PSU : Antec ATOM B650 - 650W 80+ Bronze (new) And i have this weird problem where : 1. Mouse cursor "lagging" when in desktop, gaming runs fine without any problem. 2. I cant shut down or restart my pc normally. After screen goes black, hardware like GPU, CPU, and PC fan are still running so i have no choice other than force shutdown thrugh pc shutdown button. This 2 problem happen when i use the adrenaline driver (both optional and recommended version) BUT when i use the enterprise the 22.q2 or "22.10.20-220524a-380149C-AMD-Software-PRO-Edition" (copy from regedit), those 2 problem were gone and i manage to do everything just fine. anyone knows what cause this problem ?

I tried to setup a dual monitor setup by connecting one monitor into the HDMI port of the GPU and the other monitor into the display port of the GPU. The monitor that was connected via display port only showed a blank screen so I though that uninstalling and reinstalling the GPU drivers might solve this issue. I used the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). I also disabled integrated graphics in the BIOS before that. Now both screens don't display anything. Not even the American megatrends bios thingy. This is not my photo BTW. Even a monitor connected into the motherboard's HDMI port doesn't display anything. I even removed the CMOS battery for five minutes and put it back in the PC to no avail. PC specs: Windows 11 I7- 8700 8 GB DDR4 RAM Aorus Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming (rev. 1.0) Chieftec GPA-500S8 500W PSU ASUS VY249HE Monitor 2x Edit: A quick rundown of everything I tried so far. I unplugged both of the drives and powered on the PC. Then the computer said: Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. Then I plugged in a USB with Xubuntu Linux on it and both of the monitors worked. Then I unplugged the USB, restarted the PC and then both of the monitors worked. Then I restarted the PC again and this time both of the monitors are blank again but now even unplugging the drives does nothing. Edit 2: after a couple dozen of restarts or so one of the monitors finally works again. Now I've made backups of all of my important files in case I won't be able to boot up my PC again after shutting it down.

Hello, I have a Gigabyte aorus rx 580 used card which i bought recently from a shop for a cheap price. The card was running quite well but recently i am experiencing some problems with it. My driver version is amd adrenalin pro latest version. I made some custom profile in the wattman including a downclock profile for skyrim modded game and fan curve xml file. Whenever i open heavy 3d games or apps i tend to load my custom xmls for better cooling. But recently i noticed when i load games and loaded my custom xmls my screen shows glitching artifacts (lines, muticolor box all over the screen) then for a brief moment the screen goes black and i get amd software error along with wattman default warning and the screen goes back to normal. My pc doesnt crash, nor hangs nor bsod but i get weird artifacts and driver crash on desktop only only upon loading my custom fan curve amd downclock xml. But on windows boot menu amd bios logo gpu doesn’t show any artifacts. So can anyone specify what might be the cause of such issue? Driver or card. I think the former may be the culprit.

I have been trying to install a gnu driver on my raspberry pi. In the Xorg wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/xorg#Driver_installation), it says to identify your card you need to type in $ lspci | grep -e VGA -e 3D I did and my terminal tells me that pcilib:Cannot open /proc/bus/pci lspci: Cannot find any working access method Is there any fix to this? Or just install another driver? @noahdvs You were right when you asked me before, I did not install proper driver for my arch linux system.

Edit post : this happened again when i tried to export 8K textures from Substance painter, (Substance painter usually use cpu and gpu power to export) Another edit : i again downgraded my gpu driver to the july update, now it seems whenever i try to export 8k textures from substance painter, pc doesn't restart. but that blender tile 4 problem still appears. Few people who helped me on my previous may know me, My UPS was facing some restart problem so i sent it to claim warranty currently i'm using a small 650va one, which can't backup for a sec when blackout happens, but can backup when i'm idle.it's been 3 days i send my 1200va one to the warranty and with is ups no restart is happening because of voltage spikes, So now the problem is i was thinking what if my psu is faulty too.so i tried doing some heavy tasking, In this picture you can see gpu is almost using 180watt with volume tile size 2.but when i changed that to 4 pc restarts O_O in blender volume sample 2 is high and 16 is low, no problem with 2,8,16 but only on this scene whenever i change to 4 pc restarts without any warning. (I tried using my pc directly to the wall plug)So i tried using furmark to stress the gpu and cpu but no restart happens.i tried playing witcher 3 which uses 160-175watt gpu power most of the time but no restart happens.i again tried using my other scene in blender eevee and used volume sample 4 but it was fine.SO what is the problem here? if it's software issue then i think it shouldn't restart it should crash instead. i also tried changing gpu driver and still pc restarting if i use sample 4 in this scene. (gpu and cpu temp was fine)In furmark test gpu temp was 67C. and cpu always stays under 60C.My pc spec i5 640016gb ramrx 590 8gb 240gb ssd 1TB+500gb HDDno liquid cooler fan,5 120mm cassis fan and Thermaltake 620watt smart modu,,Well you may say the PSU isn't good enough, but i already know that. but psu is handling when i'm playing games or working in blender or even when i'm stress testing. why only this scene with volume tile size 4? Can a software related issue turn of PC directly? or something is wrong with my hardware? Thanks in advance

My GeForce 820M GPU kinda refuses to update. The version I have currently is 391.35 WHQL - [r391_33]. I have tried DDU and tried installing the latest drivers but it doesn't allow it. It only installs the driver I mentioned above. It played CS:GO with no problems at all having over 120FPS when the mentioned driver was the latest but now it barely goes over 75FPS. My laptop's graphics performance really slowed down. I hope there's a solution to this. My laptop's an ASUS X550LD, bought around the second quarter of 2015, was Windows 8 but then updated to Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-4210U (yes really old), 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD, and my GeForce 820M 2GB DDR3.

Problem: After windows boots (after windows 10 logo), but before the login screen appears, my monitors go black, no cursor is visible. I run a dual boot config, twice windows 10 (64 bit) one for personal use and one strictly for work, installed on different physical SSD's, not partitions. The problem only occurs when booting to the personal drive, the other one works just fine. Problems started after a windows update on my personal drive a while ago. In the midst of the update, the PC had to reboot, and booted to the wrong drive (Which is weird, the personal drive is set as primary boot drive). I immediately rebooted back to my personal drive, but only got a black screen. Rebooting from there results in a black screen again. Rebooting over and over again doesn't change anything, windows recovery never kicks in. The PC can boot into safe mode (F8 method, luckily boots in safe mode on the right drive). (only my secondary monitor works in that case, I don't know if this is normal?) From safe mode, no windows updates were available, so I guess the update did install completely? So, my next thought was this might be a GPU driver issue, no updates available though, I used DDU to uninstall and reinstall drivers. I got the latest driver from AMD's website. The problem almost seemed fixed at first, the PC reboots during the driver uninstall/installation proces, back in regular boot mode, and then works just fine, until I reboot again. I can repeat this proces of booting to safe mode, uninstalling the GPU drivers reinstalling them and then having everything working, for exactly 1 boot. I tried installing the optional newer version, or an older version of the drivers (Way back to 17.11.1, but the problems persist. I also checked if windows is up to date, checked other driver updates, I checked for malware, I cleaned out dust in my system, ... I tried unplugging the GPU and running on integrated graphics with just one monitor. (AMD A8 7600 APU w/ Radeon R7 integrated graphics) Still boots to black screen. Whenever I want I can boot to the work drive, and everything works fine there, the GPU driver installed there is 18.3.3. Which makes me believe it is not a Hardware problem. Any recommendations to try next? I'm thinking of reinstalling windows at this point... Monitor setup: Primary monitor: LG IPS led monitor connected via HDMI, freesync Secondary monitor: Acer VGA monitor, connected with a display port to VGA adapter Other Specs: Windows 10 (64 bit) Windows 10 (64 bit) (Dual boot, different physical drives) GPU: AMD RX480 from gigabyte CPU: AMD A8 7600 APU w/ Radeon R7 integrated graphics CPU cooler: Hyper 212 EVO MoBo: Gigabyte F2A68HM-H RAM: 8GB of Hyperx something. 2x 250GB Sandisk Plus SSD's 2x 500GB HDD WD HDD's Be Quiet 600W PSU Some brandless case I scavenged. Need more info?

Okay so this problem has been affecting me recently (past week or so) basically my screen flickers multiple times rapidly for about 10 seconds, and then recovers (sometimes doesnt and screen just stays black and i have to just retat my pc) if it does recover however i get a little notification at the bottom right saying Nvidia driver 355.xx (cant remember the last 2 numbers but its the most recent drivers regardless) and has managed to recover. now at first i thought maybe its just a random occurance but then it started happening really frequently, so frequently that i took a couple hours out of my day to fix the problem (too no avail i might add) i did the basics updated drivers checked windows updates made sure my 980s were running consistently but i run my cards at a lower clock for the silence and temps so i didnt think it wouldve done with that, but this problem really started to piss me off when i was playing games ect, it would be fine for hours and then i start up cs go or dota, and boom flickering after 10 minutes. so (excuse the language) but i thought fuck it it HAS got to be windows 10 (which was weird because my brothers pc was running fine with windows 10 but i thought maybe its just because i have 2 graphics cards that windows just isnt optimised for it yet. anyway back to windows 10 now and the problem went away for a while and now its back not as consistent as before nor as frequent but it still happens probably once or twice a day and i reallllllly want this fixed any help on this would be so appreciated. Specs: (not that they should matter) 4790k asus sabertooth mark 1 2 gtx 980s ssds ect ect ect also maybe worth noting i have dual monitor setup with rog swift and vg28qe and i recently got my swift replaced because my previous just died after a month so the monitors are 100% fine unless Gsync has something to do with it (which i disable anyway)

A while ago I updated my GPU drive to the latest. Now certain games (BF4, BF3) will not go full-screen (they will stay in windowed mode unless i go into border-less mode). The Witcher 3 won't start properly into full-screen when I have my second screen enabled. Anyone else having these problems with full-screen and multiple displays? If you want me to make a video showing the issue I can.

Hi, my name's Anton. I think those who may drop by to help me out know what the error message from windows that I used as my title means to a computer user. Without further ado, I'd like to rid myself of this life long curse and finally be happy. Specifications of my computer build: Operating System: Windows 8, 64-bit. Motherboard: Asus Maximus V Formula (Bios Version: 1903) Central Processing Unit: Intel i7 3770k (No overclocking) Graphics Processing Unit: Asus GTX Titan (No overclocking) (Geforce Driver: 337.5) Power Supply Unit: Thermaltake TR2 RX 1200W Storage Unit: OCZ RevoDrive 3, PCI-Express SSD 240gb (174.9gb used) The Deal: So I enjoy playing video games. I play them in all sorts of different colors and sizes. However one issue stops me from doing so, and as a result I can't have the fun I bought for thousands of dollars : /. It's difficult for me to tell you step by step what happens, but I'll do my best. I start up the game, and for the first few seconds in game I'm fine (I am able to navigate things such as main menus and such), however ranging from a 5 seconds to 15 minutes of gameplay, the game freezes (the sounds that just happened recur annoyingly), the screen goes black, and then it all goes back to normal with the exception of a little windows error in the bottom right corner of my screen telling me exactly what my title is: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. It tells me the name of the driver, and then promptly disappears expecting me to understand any of the nonsense that just transpired. Before I go on about the solutions I have attempted, I would like to add extra information about what happens. During these crashes, an interesting thing happens to my gpu usage percent. After the deed, I immediately go to MSI afterburner and check temperatures to see they are nominal and that my fan speeds correspond in the ways I have them loaded, but the one outstanding thing is that during the time of the crash, the gpu usage percent sky-rockets to 99% and that's when the game crashes. By no means have I been trying to run Crysis 3 downsampling 4k (which I have actually been able to do in the past, it was fun), this particular issue persists in all games, but the ones Iv'e been playing aren't exactly gpu intensive, especially for my titan (The three main ones are World of Warcraft, Planetside 2, and Fistful of Frags). Another issue that sometimes occurs in the same time period as the crash, and is directly correlated, is that the msi afterburner application turns off (This is most likely due the driver crashing, therefore putting my gpu into the state where it's not loading anything, which in turn causes the application to believe there isn't any graphics card. I'm no expert, but I wanted to apply as much information as possible.). Failed Fixes: Driver Reinstallation. Operating System Reinstallation Motherboard Bios Flash. Firmware updates to ssd. 100% GPU Fan usage 100% CPU Fan usage Underclocks Overclocks Regedits (TdrDelay and TdrLevel, both kinds of values) Lowering in game graphics settings Playing around with 3d settings and resolution settings in Nvidia control panel. Geforce Experience game optimizations Yelling Profusely Malware and antivirus scans (Malwarebytes and Windows Defender) Motherboard/Graphics Card/CPU/everything reseats Thermal compound reapplications Power Management set to all three kinds Different Operating Systems (Namely 32-bit Win8, and both kinds of Win7Ultimate) Putting GPU into different systems Oh God: Thanks in advance to anyone who helps, and if you read this and decide not to, I don't blame you. I really, really hope this doesn't mean a new piece of hardware. EDIT: Well I don't know what I was expecting, good bye, cruel world. : /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
