I wanna someone to double check if it's allright. If any of you can find CPU, GPU Benchmark for DaVinci Resolve studio specifically, especially featuring relative CPU and GPU i'll also be glad. I only found https://www.pugetsystems.com/solutions/video-editing-workstations/davinci-resolve/hardware-recommendations/ with RTX 4070 ti featured in the build, but some more data would be nice. Don't feel discouraged by the language, curency or shop links. I'm looking for somone who used DaVinci resolve studio or/and have at least some knowledge of how different component specs affect performance.

Hello guys, I have a problem with Sony Vegas Pro 13. If I check "GPU Acceleration Of Video Processing" in "Preferences" -> "Video" tab my Vegas is crashing after 2 - 5 minutes of editing or it crashes after 2 - 5 minutes after I start rendering. If I turn it of it won't crash, but I need to use it because it makes my playback looks better so I can use the "Best (Full)" preview. And It's verry annoying because I likes to see the details how I actually should. Here is a screenshot: If anyone had this problem and figured it out please help me bro's couse is driving me KRAZY!

So i've just gotten a used 7970 to try and get working in my machine. upon loading up Premiere pro cs6, i find that it is not recognizing it in the gpu acceleration tab. i run gpu sniffer to see whats up, and it says that i dont have any devices that support gpu computation, even though i clearly do. what's up?

So far I have tried on Windows 7, 10 and Windows Server 2012. As soon as I do this, I am unable to connect to the Virtual Machine via remote desktop, chrome remote desktop or via the XenCenter Console. My question is. Can the Tesla K20Xm Card be used for Remote Desktop acceleration or graphics applications such as games via remote desktop or parsec? Thanks for your time.

So I have 829GB of video files, it all comes to a total of around 80somthing hours, and I need to keep all of them. The only problem is, my 2tb hard drive is almost full, I don't have the money for a new one and CPU encoding, well let's just say it takes forever. I have a GTX 1070 in my system and my dad said to me, why not use GPU acceleration for it all. But I just can't find the programs/tools I would need. I am dyslexic so I find it hard to read and it hurts to read for more than 20 mins at a time so I have been finding it hard to find any tools/software to take advantage of my GPU for compressing my video files. Any help? TL:DR: I need a program to compress videos that uses GPU because CPU takes to long.

I assume in the old days that the CPU generated a stream of instructions and data and sent it to the GPU. The GPU just put pixels on the screen. Now Premiere Pro uses GPU acceleration to display and edit highly compressed HD video files. I would think that the CPU hands off more work to the GPU but the GPU still just puts pixels on the screen. But Premiere Pro also uses GPU acceleration to export an output video file. This indicates that the CPU is giving data to the GPU and then retrieving processed data from the GPU before writing the output file. What is the mechanism for the back and forth transfer of data?

After spending a better part of my night looking through Nvidia press releases and the like about the 1080, I was unable to find out what I was looking for. Since the 1080 has double floating point precision like the titan X, but seems to be better than the titan x in many ways, I was thinking of upgrading. What would you say the likeliness of Nvidia and graphic processing programs supporting the product line for gpu accelerated tasks? While I know geforce cards are not workstation or server quality, I am looking for something for my home rig for when I work at home. Other than memory, the 1080 cards seem to mostly be better performers than Tesla cards. The 1080 cards also have better bandwidth, lower power consumption, and can be replaced multiple times before equaling one Tesla card. An example of use will be running Navier Stokes solver in ANSYS Fluent. This software will allow the setup of GPU acceleration with any cuda core card, but will not actually utilize them unless they have been supported by ANSYS / Nvidia (sometimes "tested" cards work I have been told).

Hi all, adobe just added a few more gpu to opencl gpu acceleration list. Could someone check this for me? How much increase in rendering and timrline render. Im currently looking into r9 285 mainly. Thanks in advances

AMD recently made their VCE open source, VCE being a video encoding engine they developed, which is meant for gpu accelerated video encoding. there's also APP which has been out for the longest time which allows developers to use the GPU for lots of other tasks, and there are some programs out there that use APP for acceleration like media espresso while ArcSoft media converter is VCE optimized as well as APP optimized to my understanding. I happen to do a lot of video transcoding on a regular basis but it always takes me a while for a really good encode and my past experience with gpu accelerated encodes looked like garbage (late 2012) I'm thinking now it's time to try again and see how things are a little more than a year later I can't however find detailed info or comparisons between VCE results and APP results, in particular I'm interested in knowing which optimization will work faster and which will have the least artifacting. I expect some loss between encodes and especially when I cut the bitrate like I do but last time I tried gpu accelerated encoding it was worse than if I'd just recorded it with a cell phone camera even when put on higher quality settings and much larger bitrates for the same resolution I understand VCE is for newer amd cards, and that nvidia also has cuda available which is more widely supported (supposedly?) I might be convinced to buy new hardware if cuda transcoding is fast enough or if some other hardware + software can do it fast enough like looping my feed through a capture card or external recording system really any help in just speeding up my transcoding would be much appreciated, I've already optimized various programs to the fastest settings I'm comfortable with in terms of how much quality I'm willing to lose for said speed and it's still nowhere near as fast as I'd like it to be. as to software I'm currently familiar with the related adobe products, handbrake, meda coder, media converter, media espresso, super, and others as to hardware amd phenom2 940 (quad core OC'd to 4.2ghz) a couple fpga's an old radeon 4850(if somehow I could use it with my new GPU though it's no longer in case just pointing out it's available), and a new amd r9 290 I may also have an old workstation graphics card laying around somewhere but it'd be older than the 4850 6gb ddr2, and 6tb of storage

Could Linus do a "Fast as Possible" video explain GPU acceleration? Sony Vegas can do it, although their API for it is buggy, but I don't really understand what it is and would like to have Linus explain it. Thanks! Josh_Grid21
