Hello!!! I am looking to getting into streaming, vlogging, and various content creation. What I am needing help on is deciding between the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Edition (or the Action 4 creator edition) vs GoPro Hero 12 Creator Edition. Main reason I went with these options is the ability to use it as not only a webcam but the ease of taking it on the go, along with the extras that come with the creator editions. Ideally I would want a camera for streaming and then one for just making videos but in the mean time i can do with having just one camera for both. I am open to other options as well so any advice or information is certainly welcomed as well! Hello there everyone! We are planning with gf to Action Camera lets say. But for what? Mostly it will be only for filming (it's her job/hobby). Weddings, advertisement creating, and lets so for simply stuffs like traveling, maybe some action while driving with bikes, jumping from plane with parachute or anything else. Well I just want to hear your guys opinion about those cameras. If any of you had some of them and have any experience I am happy to hear if you don't mind sharing :)). Lets so give your different opinions for budget/no budget limit/filming/action and so on. Thank you very much guys!! Hey guys. Back when I bought my GoPro 3+ Black Edition in 2014 I'd keep a day's worth of footage in my microSD card. When I got home I'd plug the GoPro in, open the directory where the footage was located (something like Gopro>DCIM>GOPRO100) and I could just play back the videos and photos. For me it was much easier because I could erase whatever videos I didn't want on the spot and just copy the rest to my HDD. With some firmware update this turned out to be no longer possible and whenever I double click to play a video a Windows transfer window pops up (like I'm copy-pasting it from a folder to another) and only then it plays back the file. I can't even see any thumbnails besides VLC's icon. Do you know of some way I can play the videos directly from GoPro's directory without having to downgrade the firmware? Thanks!

Source: http://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/4/20/15355234/gopro-fusion-camera-360-spherical-sample-video Specs: 5.2K video at 30 frames per second “OverCapture” — Pulls full HD imagery out of the 5.2K recording sphere Looks like GoPro is finally getting into the 360-degree camera game, probably due to the success of the Gear 360 and the Nikon Key Mission. No word on price yet. Interestingly the article notes that GoPro went out of its way to avoid using the phrase "360-degree", I wonder if this means it won't be able to output the full 5.2k image? Edit: I brightened the teaser image in Photoshop and it looks like there's a standard GoPro mount on the bottom as well as 2 buttons on the right side, one of them being 'mode'.

Hi, I've been looking at actioncams lately that are preferably under a 100$ but 150$ might be possible. The main ones i've been looking at are the Gopro Hero+, Eken H9/H9R and the Nikkei X6. All cameras seem to have the strengths and weaknesses, but i'm wondering what your opinion would be about them. thanks in advance.

I am looking into getting a GoPro and am wondering wether I should wait until the Hero 6 is released or go ahead and buy the Hero 5 Black. It has been announced that the Hero 6 will be released sometime later this year but no specs have been released for it (I doubt that it will be released before October). GoPro is also running a limited time promotion right now where you can send in any old GoPro and get $100 USD off of the Hero 5 Black bringing the price down to $299.99 (I currently have a Hero 2 and I have no idea if it still works). I will be doing a lot of things this summer that having a functioning GoPro would be really nice for. My question is, if you were in my shoes, what would your choice be? Go ahead and Buy the Hero 5 Black now, or wait till the Hero 6 is released?

So, I recently got a used gopro hero 3+ black edition, it was working great until I tried to connect it to my phone via the capture app. So I tried to reset and give it a new password it via the instructions on gopro's website. I made sure that the name and password I used was compliant. I got the update folder on the micro sd and put it into the gopro. When I turned it on it fired up as usual like the sd card wasn't even in it, it didn't automatically update. I was however able to get the firmware updated by choosing to update the firmware only. I had tried the option to update the firmware and wifi together as per the option on gopros website but every time I tried this option the download folder button was greyed out. I have looked around a bunch trying things that other people tried. I tried using multiple different micro sd cards, formatting them in windows and within the gopro itself. Even the password given to me by the previous owner didn't work.

Question: So i picked up a GoPro Hero4 Session on sale about a year ago thinking i would use it all the time, but like a vegetable juicer i used it once and it's been sitting on a shelf ever since. But after a remote job interview i've come to the realization that my ancient Logitech C120 is essentially useless with it's manual focus, 4:3 aspect ratio and poor resolution. Does anyone know how i can repurpose my gopro and use it as a webcam? I want to stay away from sketchy 3rd parties and custom rom's

The new DJI Mavic is a small powerful drone. It is half the size and weight of the phantom and the whole profile is small enough to fit into a small backpack or even a purse. specs uses same camera sensor as the phantom 4 it can stream live video for up to 4.3 miles away (phantom can only reach 3.1) it can also directly live stream to YouTube periscope and facebook in 1080p It is aimed squarely at gopros drone. starts at 749 (compared to the karma which starts at 799) http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/27/13058722/dji-mavic-pro-drone-foldable-4k-gesture-control I think this will really bring out some good competition for the "lower end" drone market. It also seems to be superior to the karma in almost every way.

Hi! I use a GoPro for recording long trips and I plan to operate it without a battery, connected to a charger powered by my car's lighter socket. The problem is that without a battery loss of power would mean that the recording would stop. I'm thinking of using a pass-through power bank as a back up power supply, which of course is not its ideal type of use. Is there any other solution that can act as a UPS device for the camera, except a pass-through power bank?

I have a small pelican case (Orange) that I keep my GoPro, batteries, and portable charger in. I often leave it in my vehicle because I travel a lot. Is it safe to leave camera equipment in a vehicle on a hot day? I don't know how hot it gets, but my car is dark blue so it soaks up sunlight and builds interior heat really quick? I know that I should check each items operating temp in the manual, but will it cause any other damage besides with the batteries?

Are there any users here who are using a Freedom360 Rig using an array of GoPro cameras whose brain I could pick about your workflows? I'm curious mostly about 360 photography, but I've been doing some investigating about mixing in some streaming using HDMI capture dongles.

I've been using my GoPro Hero 2 cameras for a few years to capture in car video during stage rally events. One of the features of the video capture is I plug the mic jack of the camera into a car intercom to capture audio between the driver and co driver. I move the system between different vehicles since I codrive for different people, but therefore have little control over the intercom itself. Sometimes I find that when the car is started while the GoPro is plugged into the intercom it'll cause the GoPro to lock up and I need to pull the battery to get it to work again. The GoPro uses battery power, but the intercom is connected to the car's power system in different ways depending on the car. I'm assuming I'm getting some sort of voltage coming up the 3.5mm plug causing the GoPro to freak out. Is there anything I can do with the camera or put inline between the camera and the intercom that could help prevent this? It's never fun to get to the end of a stage and realize you've missed something exciting. Sample For Attention Another because theyre fun!

I have a GoPro 5 Black. It has a micro HDMI output but my computer (which is where I want to connect it) has no inputs for video (as far as I know, (I built it myself a few years back) because last I checked you can't make a graphics card function as an input device). How would I go about connecting my GoPro to my computer? I think it'll have something to do with a capture card (that's all I know)? sorry if this isn't the right place to make this thread it seemed to be appropriately on topic sorta.

Hi so I just got a gopro hero 2018 find it here. I was looking at the settings and I was wondering if I should record in 1440p and 60fps or 1080p at 60fps. But when recording 1440p you have to record in 4:3 but with 1080p you can record in 16:9. I am sorta new to gopros and I will mainly use this for youtube. Any help is requested.

So I have been using my gopro on my new laptop and when I try and load it into premiere I get very odd artifacting from the footage. It works fine on my desktop and looks fine outside of premiere. It appears to appear different when scrubbing the footage. It does it on both my Hero4 Session and Hero 6 Black. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi, Hope I posted this in the relevant section. Basically I'm thinking on making a project which requires streaming multiple gopro footage wirelessly on a laptop using OBS. Has anyone ever tried doing this? Thanks

So I recently purchased a Hero5 Black and now have some questions about the actual mp4 files produced. (In May, I'm going on a 1,050 mile motorcycle trip and want to get as much traveling footage as I can in a 128Gb SD card.) When recording at 60fps at 1080p resolution I get nearly the same file size, for the same recording duration, as when recording at 30fps. (The 30fps is actually a bit larger) Looking at the mp4 properties, the 60fps has a total bitrate of 45008kbps while the 30 has 45144kbps. When I asked in the GoPro chat, the chat "tech" responded with Am I missing something? Which one of us has to be reported on the "Experiences with non-techies" thread? (btw, I was typing a bit fast there in the chat and didn't see two typo's, one more significant than the other, hence my corrections here)

Here is a concept that I thought of while doing 360 and multiple GoPro shoots, but have no way of testing it. It involves multiple GoPros or Gear 360 cameras. The method they use to connect is connecting either iOS or Android to the hotspot they create, and then opening the app. But since your phone only has one useable wireless interface, you can only connect to one device at a time. There is the problem. What I want to test is if its possible to have a computer or router act as an in-between. A method of connecting Gopros and other wifi video cameras to the main network which you would then connect a phone or iPad. It would probably need to have two network interfaces. One that can pick a connecting network (Ad-hoc; Gopro to network). Second would be for the phone or tablet to connect to (. Then you could select which device you want in the app. Has anyone attempted this or even if its possible? If the app's don't support multiple devices, then oh well.

GoPro decided to open source CineForm codec. Does anyone want to join the development or just play around with the codec? https://gopro.github.io/cineform-sdk/ More details can be found here... https://gopro.com/news/gopro-open-sources-the-cineform-codec
