Hey everyone. I have a Google Pixel 5 and over the past 5 days or so, I've been having connection issues. It started with painfully slow data speeds no matter where I am (sub-1mbps) on a no-slow-down unlimited plan, and it hasn't gotten better. Then today, my wifi connection and data connection both shut off at the same time, couldn't even find wifi networks. I restarted and it fixed it. Is there something up with my phone? Should I be worried? Thank y'all!

How do I stop my wallpaper from shifting when I slide to the right? I looked it up and found nothing. BTW I'm using the stock pixel launcher.

Are there any good stock, pure and clean Android phones beside the Google Pixel?
-
I'm currently choosing between iPhone 11 and Google Pixel 5. Both costs around 750 USD here in Sweden. I use both iPhones and Android phones and have no preference when it comes to iOS and Android. I'm planning to use this phone for the next 4 years or so. Which one do you think has a better battery life, and which one has a better camera?

Hello! I have this problem where I can't delete the widgets that I created. I have installed the Pixel launcher on Nexus 5X so I don't actually own the Pixel phone itself. Thank you!

Hey Folks, Looking into picking up a Google Pixel as my next phone (To replace my stolen Note 5). I could have sworn Linus and crew did a Pixel review, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. How does it stack up to the competition? I know it's expensive, but my budget will allow for it. If anyone has one I would Love to hear a review. Thanks again, y'all are awesome, ~ Gali

I’m a long time apple user (Since 1st gen Ipod) and have really been a loyal customer to them, but especially 2013-2017 I’ve been so annoyed at their games and I’ve always hated the amount or restriction they put you on for basically everything. My contract on my 6s is almost up and as I’ve been looking at other options besides apple, I’ve really fallen in love with the google pixel and pixel 2. I’m REALLY been thinking about getting a pixel 2 but it seems like every 10 minutes someone is having some random issue with the screen. In all honesty with no “YouTube Reviewer Bias” Is it REALLY that big of an issue?

Hello Everyone. Recently, Verizon rolled out the update to Oreo for Pixel and Pixel XL users. After installing the OTA update, my Pixel has frame and stuttering problem when pulling up the App drawer. Has anyone else had this problem or is this just a device issue?

I Personally love the Pixel 2 (Not XL.) I don't see what's the deal with a wide curved screen, I honestly really prefer the so called "Chunky looking" one of the regular Pixel 2. It looks more compact and makes it easier to pull down the notifications menu, which I had a lot of issue doing with my current SmartPhone which has quite a big screen. I guess I just like smaller devices in general. Multitasking is very handy as well, I only wish more apps supported it, such as Netflix. The Stock Android experience in my opinion, is by far the BEST Mobile OS experience ever created (This is also why I Installed stock Android apps by Google on my device and replaced the Stock launcher with Google Now, which makes it easy to search in both the Web and in my Apps list) . The Material look is both a pleasure for my eyes and incredibly minimalistic and easy to use. Every interface has some cool effects to it which don't slow down or lag the Device, and they somehow make the whole thing feel more alive, as in more interactive than previous versions of android (talking about the old JellyBean thoguht, 5.0 was a huge jump for Android). The camera looks sweet, color saturation seems to be amazing and video recording is insanely clear. Also love the look and front facing speakers are the amazing. Probably one of my favorite smartphones of all time, it's just the perfection to me. I was wondering what you think about it. I don't really see whats' the big deal with a bigger smartphone. If I want to watch videos at an high resolution, I just open up my laptop. (Ironically my Laptop has a 764p screen while my Smartphone is 1080p). Also does curved glass even make the difference? I found it such useless.

https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/5/16428570/google-pixel-2-no-headphone-jack-apple-wireless-future "We might not like it, but Apple’s prediction that we could live without headphone jacks is proving correct" I am going ahead and saying it right now, I love my headphone jack but I think that this article brings up a few good points, and the future will probably be wireless. Having a headphone is a great feature but companies are providing really good wireless headphones and dongles as well. The simple fact is that technology advances, and during stages of transition there may be minor inconveniences. It happened with floppy disks, and parallel printer ports, and optical drives… but when people decide to stop being upset about it, they actually realize that things are better because we went through the transition, and they are happy again. It’s a cycle that has repeated over and over, which is why it amazes me that people get so outraged over it. That doesn't meant there aren't problems with removing the jack completely, bluetooth can not at this time provide as superior audio quality. Dongles are ofter of crappy quality and can be lost easily. But these companies believe that this is the future. What is the future? What do you guys think? "At first blush, this seems like a flimsy excuse when you look at the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG V30, both gorgeous, almost bezel-less phones with headphone jacks present. But extend the timeline beyond this year or the next, think about it in the context of a world where even more internal phone components are integrated or obviated. As phones have been shrinking, the proportion of internal space that the headphone jack commands inside them (and not just the jack itself, there’s also the audio amplifier and digital-to-analog converter circuitry to consider) has been growing. If we’re just talking about the near term, I’m unconvinced by Apple and Google’s arguments that the jack had to go to make room for better, more integrated design. However, over the long run, these companies are probably right."

I can't seem to make my mind up on what phone to purchase. I have been leaning more towards the OP5 because of the larger storage for the price. (I can get the OP5 128GB for £500 and the Pixel XL 32GB for £450.) I don't care that much about the Pixel XL having a higher res screen. What would you guys go for?

Hey guys first time posting in a while can someone please help me out with this. My android OS is taking up boat loads of data and it's driving me insane. In the market for a new phone right now, as my iPhone 5S is starting to show some wear. My top considerations over the past few months have been the S8 (pretty much out of my price range), the OnePlus 5, the LG G6, or the Google Pixel 2. I'm a fan of the S8 and LG G6 because of their displays - there's nothing like those tiny bezels. The OnePlus 5 was a highly anticipated phone for me because of the company's history of producing phones with a good value. I'm having trouble deciding based on several factors, what do you guys think? I was hyped for the OP5 because of the company's history of producing phones with a good value, but the design of the phone is somewhat killing me in the sense that it looks so similar to an iPhone and has some pretty thick bezels. The LG G6 has as fairly nice design in my opinion, and because of its price drop ($455 on Amazon) seems to be a fairly good value as well. The issue with the G6 is its hardware. It's running off of a Snapdragon 821 rather than an 835, so it won't be quite as "future proof" or as efficient when it comes to power consumption. The Google Pixel 2 has had some good rumors floating around recently, with a revamp of the design of the phone and some of the more typical flagship features such as waterproofing. The S8 is just out of my price range, I can't justify spending that much on a phone, so I'm not even sure as to why I'm including it in this list. What do you guys think? I haven't done much exploring of mid-range phones, and I don't really use my phone for anything but simple productivity tasks and social media, so if there's a more viable option, please feel free to let me know.

The Google Pixel Phone, TL;DR: Great phone, feels good in the hand, extremely quick, best Android experience, charges FAST, has faulty issues that occur among Pixel phones, Fantastic customer support, Amazing finger print scanner, Design is debatable, the finish chips/scratches in odd ways, fun Android Easter Egg(Entirely Subjective), Decent audio(Drives my HD 8 DJ's to substantial levels), Abysmal mono speaker, Google assistant is fantastic and useful, great buttons, chin bar is a bit big, great screen(Too much contrast albeit), and of course an amazing camera(Front and back)(A bit jittery with the Electronic Stabilization)(Has slightly too much contrast) Overall rating...6/10 - 6.5/10 (Intended for iOS to Android converts, People who can truly appreciate Android) If you want to see my issues with the phone, skip to the section where the entire paragraph is in red. Full Review, Design: The design, in my opinion, looks interesting. Especially in their "Quite Black" color, looks sporty, sleek and nondescript. Although, this is entirely my opinion and it may NOT suit your tastes. My biggest gripe is that soft glass on the back. I took a look at it after only 3 days of using it, at this point I'm convinced a lady bug could leave scratches on the back glass by walking on it. Moving forward, to the front, that oversized chin bar irritated me a bit in the beginning but I've gotten used to it now. A lot of people complain "Oh you ought to put touch capacitive buttons there!", yet, unless I'm wrong, it's stock Android and not all Android phones have those types of buttons right? So I'm assuming that placing those buttons there would be left up to the 3rd party phone manufacturers and is something they'd tweak in Android. I could be wrong, any how, yeah that chin bar is a bit big. Maybe they could have put dual front facing speakers there instead and a small mic grill next to the charging port. Build quality: It's fantastic, ABSOLUTELY, a step up from the Nexus 6p no questions asked. The 6P felt good, but not this good. In my opinion, it feels better than the iPhone 7/7+(Using the iPhone as a comparison because that's the direct competition) and I'm unsure why. Maybe it's because the 7/7+ is thinner overall? I'm unsure, but as we all know by now there's a VERY subtle wedge shape to the Pixel. Not much else to say, we all know it has Gorilla Glass 4(Thank God it's not 5), and that soft glass that scratches by touching it. Software: This is the fun part, currently I'm running Android Nougat 7.1.1(at the time of writing this) and it is smooth. Flipping from page to page, swiping into the app tray, it's all so quick. There's not much else to say, it's stock Android with no bloatware or ugly skins. Google assistant, is lovely. It's quick, always(ONLY) recognizes your voice, you can unlock your phone with it, and can do essentially anything(especially as they add more functionality). Battery Life: It's alright, max brightness, running games, etc. I'm getting 4-6 hours of screen-on time which is perfectly acceptable. Camera: Without getting into specifics, the(back) camera is fantastic. INSANELY quick focus, doesn't have that weird flicker like the iPhone 7+, Good contrast(A little too much IMO), even better with HDR+ enabled, a very nice(Warm) dual tone flash, it does have lens flare but that's extremely minor(Hopefully they add a patch that allows you to toggle lens flare reduction on and off I can imagine it'd be glitchy). The selfie cam is pretty good too, nice definition, it's sharp, not too washed out in darker conditions and maintains consistent colors.(Note: Both cameras have alright low life performance, nothing major but it's nice for a phone)(Can run 1080P 60 FPS or 4k 30 FPS) My issues with the phone: Now, from what I understand, this isn't just a problem with me. It's an issue among Pixel owners, and Sony Xperia owners(Oddly enough)(Doesn't have to do with the wifi being 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz, that mainly applies to Android Gingerbread and older since they could only pick up 2.4 Ghz signals). The wifi disables itself and makes it nearly impossible to connect. This doesn't happen to EVERY Pixel phone but I'm under the assumption the issue is less commonplace than I originally thought. What happens is, you get Network Association Rejections/Failures and(At the time of writing this) the issue can't be solved. I've contacted Google Support,(They responded within seconds and chatted with me LIVE) they've escalated the case to specialized and I did everything possible to fix the phone. From setting a static IP, to 6 factory resets, I've gone the full 9 yards and then some. They don't know if it's software or hardware side, if it is then a simple patch could resolve the issue. Until then, this will impact the rating. Another issue, the finish on the phone chips and doesn't scratch really. I dropped the phone from a height of 3 feet or so from my pocket and it hit the corner. The corner isn't dented at all but somehow it chipped so now I'm stuck looking at this glaringly bright silver metal. Not only that but when it hit, it fell over LIGHTLY on to the back and chipped there as well(Glass went unscathed). Minor notes: The singular mono speaker is abysmal, extremely tinny and SO SO EASILY obscured! The audio output(Screw it Apple) is pretty damn good. It drives my HD 8 DJ's that are rated at a 95 Ohm impedance so not everything can drive these headphones. It pushes these cans to pretty acceptable listening volumes and it sounds very good, even when running it through a streaming service(Like Spotify). The screen is very nice, a bit too much contrast but sharp as hell. It's AMOLED so what did you expect? Not as good as a Samsung display but hey, I'll take it. Quick charging is lightning quick over USB Type-C no problems there. Very accurate gyroscope and is great with mobile VR(Google Cardboard or Daydream VR). Again, my overall rating sits at 6/10 to 6.5/10. The rating is fairly critical and I'll note that the Wi-Fi issue, docks an entire point.

Hi all, My phone contract is up in a little over a week. I currently have a Sony Xperia XZ Premium and am looking for a suitable replacement. I used to only buy Windows phones, I used to love how everything worked, but they're kaput and were never really well supported with apps. Anyway, this was my first android phone and I'm happy enough to stick with Android, so I'm looking at a replacement. A decent camera and screen are important to me, but I'm not overly bothered by gimmicks and I don't use many apps other than YouTube and the usual social medias. I would also rather not have something too big, I find my current phone to be a good size. I'd like a decent battery life and good reliability, obviously. I've been considering the Pixel 4, or one of the last Galaxy S10s; but I don't know if they are going to be an actual upgrade or not. I'm really out of touch with the current phone market, so I thought I'd turn to the experts for advice. Any thoughts will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Now judging from the title, the winner is gonna be a no brainer but here me out. So my older brother is gonna get the XS Max and give me his iPhone X for free. My samsung s7 edge has been a really bad experience sadly. The Google Pixel 3 XL is a week away & I'm trying to decide if: I should get the iPhone X for free but then that means I switch to iOS I should get the Google Pixel 3 XL and go from Touchwiz to stock android but I'll have to pay by my own money & money has been extremely tight for me as of lately Can anyone help me out? I wanna be convinced to stay on android but i'm just not sure if I should or get the iPhone X & wait a few years for something crazy

So I'm having an issue, my friend's Samsung Galaxy S7 seems to be able to detect and cast to my Hisense 55H7B TV. With my Google Pixel XL (1st Gen) I keep trying to find the Hisense to cast to but it only comes up with the Samsung TV in another room. So I've tried the basic resetting the router and reset both TV's to default. I've tried this multiple times and I never can find the Hisense TV. Does anyone have any ideas to go from here.

Okay so i currently have an iPhone 7 and am so through with apple and am planning on getting a flagship Android for my next phone. I even bought a Gear S3 to get started. (Love it) The problem is, idk what phone to get. Ive been flip-flopping between the S9 and the Pixel 2. Samsung has their mobile payment, a butt-ton of features, and sexy phones. Google has security, dat camera, and (I just found out about 12 minutes ago) Project Fi. So whats it like using a Pixel 2? Whats it like using a Galaxy S9? Does anyone have Project Fi? Is it worth it? Is anyone using the Pixel with a Gear S3, how is that like? In your opinion which is better the Pixel or the Galaxy? Ive been really stuck on this and i don't want to make a bad decision. Any help bor advice you can give would be amazing.

I've been using a Google Pixel for about a year now and I love it. I got a second one to mess around with, and I can't decide what to do/what would be worth it. It's been a while since I've been active in the rooting and custom ROM scene, and a lot has changed. None of it is above my head really, I just can't make up my mind. I had read up about rooting the pixel last summer, and it was still relatively new, but straight forward (with custom ROMs being still too experimental for my tastes). I decided to hold off until my warranty was up (the hardware issues common with the pixel spooked me), but now that I have another I'm ready to dive in. One thing I forgot about though: SafetyNet. I would like to keep that intact. So, that said, which would be most optimal (stable&secure) yet also useful (features&root)? I'm mostly unfamiliar with Magisk, and am hesitant to see how it interacts with applications in granting root, not sure about benefits over Xposed, etc. etc. TL;DR help my indecisive self figure out what to do to my phone
