Hi. I just received my Ticwatch S from my uncle who didn't need it anymore. After I set it up, I tried setting up the assistant, but nothing happens on my Pixel 6a when I click 'continue setup on phone'. I made sure that everything was up to date, and even tried doing a factory reset on the watch and reinstalling the Wear OS and Mobvoi app, but that didn't help either.

When I try to set it up and it prompts me to do it on my phone nothing happens, unlike the way I was able to set up my watch from my phone. There was a TV ad which was fifteen seconds long and it exploited the fact that anybody could trigger the "Ok Google" feature on an android phone. Here's the ad which was used. It's sure to say that Google was not pleased with this, and has issued a server side update to remove the Burger King recording which the assistant would read out (Which would include the ingredients from the Wikipedia page, which of course people tried to vandalise, and some were even successful to an extent) According to the article, now, the ad would still trigger the Google Home but the assistant would not trigger a voice response, instead it would just go back to sleep. However, if an user asked specifically what a whopper burger is, it would still give a voice response. Idk, what do you guys think about this whole thing?

Hi everyone, I just got a new Google Pixel 3a, and I've been fooling around with it and getting to know it's ins and outs. As I was setting up the Google Assistant for the first time, I was reading through the kind of information it wanted to collect and started to get a little worried. Why would google need to know my activity on their sites just so I can use it to set a call? It's not that they're asking for permission to use the apps on my phone, it wants to log all the information on all Google apps, something I turned off the moment I found out I could. Anyway, the point is that I just don't know how comfortable I am letting Google save this info just so I can save some time or use my device hands-free. So I was wondering, what's your take on this? Am I over stressing this? Or should I just accept that Google is our new overlord and every detail of my life will be collected and stored on a server somewhere?

Heyo,So I did what I think is a pretty cool thing. As the title suggests, I basically integrated iCUE with Google Assistant. That being said, there's a pretty big asterisk on that statement.What I DidWhat I REALLY did was had Google Assistant use IFTTT to modify a text file with a color name in my OneDrive, which then auto-synced to my computer. Meanwhile, I made a web wallpaper with Wallpaper Engine, the JavaScript in which continuously pings a local Node/Express server I have running, which serves the contents of that file. The wallpaper then parses the HTML color name into RGB, and uses Wallpaper Engine's iCUE integration to set all the LEDs on my rig to that color.So while it's a bit more convoluted than the title suggests, all you have to do is say "Hey Google, make the PC lights ____" and about 10 seconds later, the LED colors change, making it seem to the end user like they're fairly tightly integrated.How I Did itHere's a link to the Github repo with the code for the Node server and the wallpaper, and a more detailed walkthrough of the PC end of things: https://github.com/profezzional/iCUE-wallpaper-engineOn the IFTTT side, it was as simple as making an applet #triggered by Google Assistant, having the text ingredient be the HTML color name, and then the action being append the TextField ingredient to a file in OneDrive. This is so the file size doesn't keep growing as you continue to use the program.Next StepsThe next thing I'll do is wrap the Node server up into probably an AHK script or something and run that on startup. After I finally redid the custom loop in my PC, and right before I get the new Corsair water blocks, I finally decided to sit down and do it.Getting to this point took me about 2 days of trial and error. I was going to start down the path of trying to hook into iCUE's Far Cry 5 integration, but from a couple posts I saw, that was going to be super complicated and I don't like C++ (see http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=181358). Then I remembered Wallpaper Engine had iCUE integration for wallpapers, so I checked that out and, as primarily a web developer, was very pleased to see I could do things in JavaScript.I had code for a simple C# HTTP server, so I tried to use that initially, but that was being funky, so I used some NodeJS code I had from a much more complicated app and trimmed it down to just the extreme basics, since all I needed was for the server to give me the file contents on any route.My next conundrum was how to get Google Assistant to modify a file. I then tried to use a couple existing Actions like Vodo Drive to modify a file in my Google Drive, but it seems like it's really only for spreadsheets, at least for the time being. Then I stumbled upon IFTTT, and I remembered having heard about it a while ago, but I'm shocked I didn't have this in my life before.I then initially tried to find a way to have the Node server query my Google Drive directly, but the Drive API was also suuuuper complicated. I was trying to find a way to not have to wait for a file to sync from the cloud to my PC, but quickly resigned myself to that, and I'm not disappointed with the delay. I'm sure if I took the time and made the effort to use the Drive API or something, and had the Node server continuously check my Drive for updates, it would be faster. Looking at the OneDrive API, it seems like it may be marginally simpler than Google's, but at this point what I have is fairly smooth and doesn't take too long.So yeah, that's been my journey over the past 2 days. Let me know what you guys think, if you have any suggestions for improvement, or if I'm missing a totally obvious better way to do this. I have a Nokia 8.1 at home Andi wanna setup the Google voicematching to make it easier to use Google, but for some reason when it tells me to say "ok Google" the microphone just stops working. But when I'm using Google after clicking the microphone button it works perfectly fine. I also have a Nokia 7.1 and it works just fine on that device and I haven't had any problems with it, if you could help that would be appreciated. Thx

So recently google released Assitant onto Android devices running lollipop. I am one of those people, and when I got it, I was exited. So on Samsung phones there is a option to long press the home button and Google Now would show up. So I long pressed and it presented me the option to choose between the Google Assitant and Google Now. I choose the Assitant and it works. Later on when I long press, it presents me with the choice again. What can I do? EDIT: I do click the "ALWAYS" button. It still pops up.

I am aware that Google assistant can control Chromecast devices, but what about Chromecast audio? When I search it just shows stuff about normal Chromecast. I'd think Google would make this loud and clear to brag about Google assistant. I even tried asking Google assistant. Anyone know? Thanks!

Is there an app on android that can send Google assistant commands with a button on the touchsceen. also is it also possible to send home assistant commands from a button hooked up to a Raspberry pi or arduino? The ecosystem of smart lights in my living room I'm using has no physical light switch, while voice command is convenient, I'm still really used to turning in off/on using a wall switch. Also their's this annoying thing when you turn it off using google assistant, you have to flick off then back on the next time I'm using the normal light switch.

So, I got a oneplus 7 pro and I use the google assistant very frequently. For some stupid reason the google assistant would only use the bottom microphone and not the top one. Not sure why and it makes it hard to call for my assistant if I am playing a video, listening to music, or I am in a little noisy environment. I don't know why it won't use the two microphones on the phone and I hope someone knows a solution to this as I couldn't find any online. Also when I wake the google assistant on the lock screen. It would make the wake sounds, pop open the GUI for the assistant and than disappear. I can call the assistant again but it makes it inconvenient to call her twice. Sometimes I can call her once and it is flawless and sometimes twice. Not sure why the google assistant does this at all. I have tried clearing cache and uninstalling all of the files for the assistant but it did not work.

Hi, Just been checking out smart speakers and came across the LF-S50 from Sony. So far I'm sold on the similar design to Apples Homepod. With the additional LED clock on the front. Sadly this product comes with some faults. Like the terrible gesture control and some of google assistance feature missing like making phone call (US) and application features. ( Not sure if these issues have been addressed since reviewers reviewed the speaker ) Ive only seemed to find 1 indepth unboxing/review on youtube and old news/tech articles. So what do you guys think about Sony's smart speaker? Cheers.

I live in Canada and I recently found out that Google Assistant was finally available on iOS devices here. So I installed it on my iPhone and have been playing with it on and off. Today, I asked the assistant who is Linus. Since I never specified a last name, I was wondering what it would say. The answer? None other than Linus Sebastian! The Google Assistant (at least in Canada) automatically starts telling us about our Linus when simply asked "Who is Linus?" Meanwhile Cortana (on my iPhone) refers me to Linus Torvald, and Siri to Pope Linus (second pope of the Catholic Church), It's settled, Google Assistant is the best AI assistant.

Yep but details are more interesting with this If you take a look at the chart above, You'll see that there is small difference between google assistant on smartphones and google assistant on Google home, but what's more interesting is how bad siri actually is. Only 40% answers attempted ???? which is far below others like google and cortana or even alexa. In terms of fully and correctly answered questions, siri is doing better but it's still dead last which is not good news for those who bought Apple's $350 "Smart" speaker. And for Apple fans out there wanting to say that the sample size was not big enough: They also have a chart which shows how many questions they got wrong and compares them with their last year score: Again, siri is not doing great and it got worse compared to last year, even more interesting, Alexa got a lot worst. Personally i think it's because of it trying to answer more compared to last year. Also cortana is doing great with the lowest percent of wrong answers. Edit: I'm also interested to see Bixby next time and see how it does compared to others. Also i like to note that from my experience, Cortana on windows 10 has some problems with voice recognition and she hear things more wrong than others. I think MS need to work more on their voice to text conversion as well.

Hi, I was just thinking that it would be really nice if i could say okay google im going to bed or related type phrase and when i said that it would set a alarm and turn off two screens also if possible put my pc to sleep and then make sure one switch was on and one was off. If anyone has suggestions as to how to do this cheaply that would be great. Thanks for any help, Luke

One of the things that raised my skepticism was how natural the Google assistant voice sounded (not talking about fillers but rather the pronunciation and the continuity). But now more reputable media outlets (Axios) have done some more thorough check and it kinda raises questions. Maybe they edited out the outlet and employee name to avoid unwanted attention, but they could've easily used a well-established outlet and a fake name The second and third may not necessarily need to happen, but Axios did contact a bunch of restaurants and hair salon and there were background noises and they did ask for more customer details What adds fuel to the fire is the fact that Google hasn't responded to any of these claims and is seemingly being very tight-lipped about all this. It's a pretty impressive demo, no doubt. But I personally felt that this was a huge jump in voice assistant advancement given what we have today. Yes, Google Assistant is really good, but I don't think it would fair well with accents especially the one shown in the second call.

I want to be able to say "Add $ to the homework list" and have the assistant add it so some list, whatever the app is. I've been able to do that with IFTTT, but I cannot find an app that I can use to read back that list to me if i ask my google home "What homework do I have?" Everything I've tried only adds to the list, not reads.

My brand new moto g5 plus initiates the google assistant setup when I hold down the finger print reader, but the app then the google stops responding always. How do I get this thing to work? It was also saying things like google assistant not supported on my device/ country. Which is bullshit given my G4play worked fine with google assistant in the same place.

So I’m tired of how my TV handles HDMI inputs. I have cable, android box, and Chromecast connected. But I hate having to use the remote to keep switching the inputs. I want an HDMI Switch (min. 3 input)that doesn’t require me to push a button. I’d like it to be natively supported by Google Assistant but I’m willing to settle for it to run through IFTTT. Ive checked amazon, banggood, & aliexpress. But no dice so far. any suggestions?

Hello, Can anyone advise me as to how I can get a google PIN please? It's necessary in order to activate phone unlocking via Google Assistant. So far all I've found is that you will be asked to create one the first time you sign into the "Google Admin" app. However, when I try to do this, the app tells me that standard gmail accounts cannot be used to sign in as the app "is only for Administrators of G Suite domains." Does this mean I must become a G Suite domain admin to get a PIN and finally gain access to this feature? If so, what does this entail? Or is this simply impossible?
