Whenever I launch League of Legends my CPU dies. No other game does this to my compter. I have tried many things to try fixing this issue. I completly re-instaled the game, have made sure all my drivers are up to date, and updated my bios for my motherboard. I have been having this issue for a while and gave up on fixing it (and Leauge of Legends) for a while. Yesterday I undated my motherboard bios and it worked. played serveral games, and nothing was going wrong. Tried playing today and I am having the same issues again. The weirdest thing about this issue in my opinion is that the problem starts before I even start a game. The issues happens while im in the client. After about a minute of the client being open my CPU freaks out. After I close the client my computer goes back to normal. I have found that if I close the client in the backgroup after I start a game this can fix my issues sometimes. Closing the client doesn't always work and is annoying. If anyone has any solutions I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi there, all. I've ran into an issue with my Dell Inspiron 15 7567 lately. This started happening a few days ago, and I have no battery installed, i'm running off AC power. The processor usually runs at 60-68 C and the laptop has enough airflow and is not dusty, but not powered by an external cooler. So, to the issue. Whenever I launch a game, or have a demanding process, the processor clocks down 10 MHz at a time until it reaches 0.45 GHz (as low as i've seen it go), then it goes back up to 3 GHz if it wants to, if not, to 1 or 2 GHz frequency. It basically does what it wants, and I want it to run at a constant powerful speed all the time. I'm not sure if I should go into the BIOS and fiddle around with settings, but I literally cannot play games or multitask on a gaming laptop because of this issue. I pull up HWMonitor and Task Manager and it gives me all the info I need, i don't really know how to read if the temperatures and voltages are fine on there by the way. Although, when I browse casually and don't overload it, the processor stays at a constant 3.09 GHz. Please help, if anyone has any ideas do let me know and if you need any other information in order for you to assist me please do ask and I will gladly provide. Thank you!

Hello , I recently noticed that my cpu just won’t boost to what it needs to , I haven’t touched nothing , no bios settings , no ryzen master settings , I just installed windows , is there a way to fix this ? I will show you a video of how the MHz jumps , in that video it only stayed at 4025 - 4050 why is that ? In all games is the same , it used to be at 4200 63175652064__A92DB244-DE88-4237-A2AD-19E92CB2AA71.MOV

Where the red line is drawn is when i got back at my desktop, this is the 3rd time I've noticed this behavior. My cpu runs at max speeds while my display is off or the computer is idle. Power plan is balanced, obviously as you can see when i start doing things on my pc, the cpu starts to downclock and behaiv normally. Why is that? Obvs i cant see what program is causing this cuz my pc is idle. Picture:

I got: GPU: 1060 3gb CPU: AMD FX 8350 8 core 4Ghz Ram: Corsair Vengeneance 3x4gb DDR3 PSU: 650 watt When i play like GTA V and sometimes i got some fps drops and my CPU goes to 4.07 ghz to 1.36 Ghz and normally i got just normal fps and then 3/4 fps for 5 sec and then normal? can someone help me to fix? And i know that it is a CPU problem because i recently upgraded my cpu from Amd fx 6200 --> amd Fx 8350 and it wasnt before

My current specs are I3-8100 Gigabyte h310ma Rx570 Evga 450W 2 4GB (2400MHz) I want to play 1080p Warzone. edit: After some research my CPU caps at 2.4ghz for GPU & RAM speed my budget is flexible but I want to stay $500 or lower. I want to upgrade parts not build a whole new system; unless I can manage to sell this entire PC somewhere. Motherboard has 2 Ram Slots so 2 8GB sticks is definitely a considerable upgrade; GPU without bottleneck is a goal too. Any brands or links you guys suggest

I have an i7 4770K over clocked to 4.2Ghz and when games or programs crash it shows that it's boosted to 6.6Ghz on Hardware Monitor but the temps and wattage stay as usual, why does it do this? Is it bad? my PC has also been freezing a lot lately since this has been happening while it is over clocked or not. Thanks

Hey all, Laptop user here. (Acer Nitro 5). I've been using this laptop for quite some time with absolutely no problems whatsoever. But, beginning from November of 2019, I realized I would get stutters in EVERY game I would play. It didn't show at first, cause I was only lagging on Fortnite, but I started lagging on Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, and even THE FIRST HALF-LIFE! How is that even possible? The more computer intensive the game was, the longer the stutters would be. At first I just lived with it, but it's seriously getting out of hand. The stutters are really annoying. I fired up Task Manager and went to my CPU and GPU usage, and my GPU was just fine, and, my CPU would be totally fine, but once the stutters kicked in, it just INSTANTLY capped itself at 0.79 GHZ! This just happens at random, and the stutters can last from up to 3 seconds to 1 MINUTE! Why is that??? I now know the problem, but I don't know a solution! Also, as a bonus, Fortnite only uses 2.20 GHZ of my CPU, and keeps itself capped at that! It's like it just doesn't want to use more than 2.20 GHZ... Please help!

I'm planing to do a lot of virtualization in the coming months for some school and tutoring projects. Since I plan to run multiple virtual machines on my computer I was planning on upgrading my equipment. First off I plan on upgrading my ram to 64 gigs but when I decided to upgrade my CPU I was at a loss. Do I upgrade from my i5 -2500k quad core processor 3.3 Ghz to an i7 and if I upgrade to an i7 is it best to buy one with more cores or a higher clock speed? Any advice would be much appreciated. Edit: Rip Title lol

This question is asked millions of times on the internet but I don't know who to trust! According to puget systems, "The number of cores, memory size/type/speed, and overall architecture plays an important role as well. However, with all other things being equal, a higher clock speed card will always be faster than a lower clock speed card. The downside to a higher core speed is that the higher it is, the more power (and thus heat) is required." but when I research further people say it doesn't matter and just look at benchmarks or something like that.

Hello fellow gamers etc I´ve have a few questions to ask, im currently trying to overclock my i7-6700k on a Msi gaming z170 gaming m5 motherboard. I have a corsair h115i cooler so the temps are fine with stock and when im at 4.5 ghz, The question i have, when im overclocking my CPU, people seem to just up the ratio and change the voltage, my experience says that you should try first to find the correct voltage on a manual mode setting and having the cores fixed and then benchmark. Ive read that override mode is like manual mode and when i set the voltage to a specific number it "should" stay on that voltage all the time, but when i am trying that 4.5 ghz with 1.330 voltage in overide mode and fixed cpu cores it still goes up and down. When im then stresstesting my cpu the voltage on cpu-z actually goes down? and even sometimes goes up above my 1.330 voltage to 1.344. Am i doing something wrong here? Seems like every mode i choose it goes sometimes above the voltage i set, even in idle. Thanks for the help!

Hi all, Sorry to post this again but the survey here is absolutely vital to my senior year of schooling (so much so that I am required to pass this assignment to pass this year) You don't need to know a whole lot about processors at all, or anything even. As any response is useful to gain opinions and information from a wide range of audiences. Regards, Icarus

So.. I've been looking forward to buying a new computer and im confused on processor i should get? (not getting amd) I have an option of: a) i5 7600k - 4 CORES/ THREADS + 4.2 GHz (Can overclock up to 5.0 GHz) b) i7 7700 - 4 CORES/ 8 THREADS + 4.2 GHz c) i7 7700k - 4 CORES/ 8 THREADS + 4.5 GHz (Can overclock up to 5.0 GHz) Now, I am an inspired content creator means that i would want to be editing, Which one should i choose? Why? Price of processors are listed from top to bottom (top cheapest) Ps: If there is any kind soul out there that is willing to tell what are threads and GHz. Also which to choose over, for example: GHz over Cores and Threads or Cores and Threads over GHz. that would be fantastically amazing! Edit: I did watch and read about CPUs and never understood anything.

So, i am using a power-line networking kit that works perfectly fine. but i only get the speeds of myt 2.4ghz network rather than my 5ghz network. my 5g has 60Mbps while my 2.4 has only 30. Please help! I know my kit is not malfunctioning as i am reading 100Mbps connection from my router, which is the same speed as my 10/100 ports on the power line networking kit

Hey everyone, as the title suggests, Silicon Lottery Percentages. I know what the silicon lottery is and how it works, but one thing I'm unsure of is the percentages - as in, how bloody lucky you are if your overclock is x% over the default clocks. So I was wondering if anyone here could shed some information on this. What percentage boundaries would be considered good, better, best, or Holy S**t? Specifically as to why I want to know. I've had my i5 for around 23 months now and am looking to upgrade. Since it can overclock, I've had it overclocked since I've had it. Up until now, its been at around 4.5GHz. Only recently, I've decided to push it to what I find is its max on AIR. My CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K Cooling solution: Phanteks PH-TC14-PE (Push/Pull) Stock Speeds - 3500mhz (3.5GHz) My overclock - 4898mhz (give it a little rounding, 4.9GHz) Equating to a 40% overclock (I think) - rock solid stable (Well, I've experienced no crashes and I've been at this speed for about a week now), at 1.31v (I know CPUz is saying 0.952v, but I've probably left SpeedStep on ) Is this a good overclock for the voltage and for what the chip is? Please let me know Thanks.

Hello, a few days ago I've decided to overclock my cpu for the first time. Before that, I've done some research on the internet and learned the basics of OC, meaning: the more voltage you put, the more GHz you're going to get... and the brighter your CPU will burn (that's the point my knowledge is at). Anyway, after one unsuccessful overclock (BSOD) at 4,7Ghz with 1200V, I changed the voltage to 1235V and using intel extreme tuning utility I've done a 4h CPU stress test without getting a single crash. The highest temperature while stress testing was around 75C, and while gaming the average temperatures were around 65C My problem is, that while playing games, for example PUBG, my cpu stays at around 4,6GHz instead of the 4,7GHz I set for it. But when I'm stress testing it, the CPU stays at exactly 4,7GHz, or even when I'm watching YT videos or doing nothing the CPU stays at around 4,66GHz. So, my question is: Is there anyone who knows, how to keep my CPU at 4,7GHz while gaming? I already tried disabling Turbo boost in bios, but all it did was reset CPU ratio back to auto, and whenever I tried to switch it back to all core to overclock my CPU again, Turbo Boost kept switching back on. I tried to change the windows power mode to balanced in order to keep it disabled but that didn't work either. http://imgur.com/a/leLyl I also tried to set the AVX Ratio to 0, but all I could do is set it to AUTO. Below are the screenshots of my CPU and Voltage configuration in the bios: http://imgur.com/a/fGU5W AVX Ratio is set to (-1) http://imgur.com/a/Y3eKj http://imgur.com/a/Noumn And here's a screenshot of the results from intel extreme tuning utility while stress testing(1), gaming(2), idle(3).http://imgur.com/a/wXnxq Ps. I'm using the Asrock Extreme4 z270 motherboard and an XMP profile to boost my ram. Ps2. I overclocked my CPu to 4,8GHz this morning, and now, while gaming, my cpu is stuck at 4,7GHz, so it seems that no matter the overclock, 100MHz are not being used. Regards.

I have a 1700 with an ASUS x370-F Gaming MB and for some reason when I try to OC to 3.8 GHz at 1.4v (really any voltage at or below 1.4v) it boots fine and then I load up CPUz and it shows I'm at 1550MHz. I have (somehow) OCed to 3.7 GHz and been fine at 1.3875v. I didn't try to lower the voltage because I just go the PC and wanted to play some games and it was stable. I would like to know how to get past 1.5 GHz I looked for C-6 states and couldn't find it anywhere. What do I do to get an OC to stick. I noticed that when I boot into BIOS after shutting down the system from a "failed OC" the MB says that I am OCed with what I put in. Im so confused.

Hi, I wanted opinions on whether the 3800x or the 3900x will have a better all core overclock. I ask this because, I want to know if having more cores will limit the max GHz of the 3900x or if they will be about the same.

I have a gaming Laptop, which I bought used but in mint condition, Asus FX504GM (i7 8750H, gtx 1060 6gb, 8gb ram) and using windows 10 pro, original cable and charger. -Laptop is plugged in and the battery is charging. Battery works well. -Power option is already set to High Performance and CPU min and max is set to 100%. -I already tried reinstalling windows, drivers. -I already checked BIOS and could not find any multipliers or other related settings to CPU, power, thermals or this issue. -CPU is not overheating and gets stuck on 60 C degrees, -Fan is spinning. -I tried running ThrottleStop but it has an issue. There were two .dll and after adding them to the folder, I started getting error "unable to start correctly error (0xc000007b)" What else I can do to resolve this issue? Has anyone ever dealt with it before?

My dad just changed the video card and added more ram tje processor is probably lga 1156 ? I also added a picture now thanks for all the replies Hello! So I am really scared about overclocking my processor my dad somehow overclocked it to 3.2 ghz but i need at least 3.9 - 4.0 to play battlefield 5 lol so yeah can someone explain to me the risk it would have when i overclock it ? And is it safe? Is it too risky? Is it even possible? What are the requirements for me to lower the risks ( liquid cooling lol or liquid nitrogen cooling lol) and yes ive watched and read a lot of videos about it already but im still not sire if i should do it can someone help me ? And by help i mean by explaining it some more

I am a streamer on Twitch, and I stream primarily Fortnite, just to give readers a perspective of what I do on my system. (I stream and play on one system, no streaming PC) Stream linked at the end for an idea of my quality and if you want to talk to me live, I would be delighted! I stream at 720p and at 60fps I have also heard that using the exact same RAM is important because it can be very finicky when using 2+ ram sticks with any variations. Is this true? My system supports 64gb RAM, and since it is a powerful computer by today's standards, I am going to be using this system for a very long time. Should I go immediately to 2x16gb of ram as my upgrade? This is where I decide what I need to fit my streaming needs, any editing needs I may have, gaming needs, and any needs that I will have in the future. So is the higher frequency ram worth it for me. (Yes, I have watched the Linus Tech Tip video on RAM speed, and it was fantastic as his videos always are, but I am looking for further, more personalized insight. I take it from his video that I would want to purchase a maximum of 3200 MHz, even though my motherboard supports 4000 Mhz?) Also, should I overclock my CPU to 5 Ghz? (I have liquid cooling.) Would this hurt my CPU in any way even with adequate cooling, and would it make a big enough difference in performance to sacrifice any of my CPU's lifetime? Am I looking to upgrade the wrong things all together? This is my first performance setup, and I am looking to further my technical knowledge! Thanks for checking out my topic! NOTE: I know not all parts of my system listed are necessary to know, I list them anyways to give a full perspective on my situation. My system: Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z370-P Processor: i7 8700k (3.70 Ghz) GPU: NVIDIA Geforce 1080 Ti 11 GB GDDR5X RAM: 16 GB DDR4 (2666 MHz) (8 GB x 2) Cooling: Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite ML120L RGB AIO OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Power Supply: 700W Case: COUGAR Panzer-G (3 x 120 mm LED fans) (Listed for any sense of air flow needed) Storage: 240 GB 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD Network: Ethernet 10/100/1000Mbps Wireless AC600 <Link Removed>
