I found a Steam code for CoD: Ghosts for $7. I remember really liking the Extinction mode, but I don't want to get it if there aren't too many people still playing.

So anyone looking for a quick fix post, I'm sorry, try the next one down. So about a year ago I rebuilt my friends Alienware because it was... on its way out. Now to keep the budget down we recycled parts from it. I also used some of my salvage from other donated parts. So here is the spec list. I5 4590 Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 four sticks of 2 GB 1333MHz ram (Alienware) 120 GB SSD (forgot model) EVGA 500B 80+ bronze psu GTX 660 Ti (Alienware, with possible Dell rebranding based on comparisons) 750GB HDD (salvage) Windows 7 64 bit So the initial build went fine until it got to installing Geforce drivers where it blue screened. Just in case it was a coincidence I tried again, and another blue screen. So I replugged the GPU and tried once more and yet another blue screen. Fearing the card may have died, I plugged in a GTX 260 and it worked. It installed drivers and everything. So we were about to toss out the 660 Ti since the problem was isolated to it and decided to plug it into another machine. Where it installed drivers and played games fine... So we plugged it into the new machine and it worked fine... We later discovered on the next Geforce driver update it would BSoD at the end of every driver update. The driver would successfully install according to everything we could see about it. DDU plus fresh install didn't change the BSoD at the end of every driver install. The problem wasn't severe enough for him to give me the machine to dive deeper into the problem so this went on for about another 3 months. His power went out one day while he was playing a game and after that we had the amazing Event ID 14 nvlddmkm error. Which would occur randomly, fresh reboot, idle, load, or gaming. It didn't matter, randomly his GPU would no longer be recognized and fps would drop to like 7. The only thing that may temporarily fix it was restarting the computer. So thinking the GPU was a false negative on being on the way out I put back in the 260. It had the same issues. So I figured something got corrupted in the power outage and reinstalled the OS. Fresh install, fresh games, and yet the same issue persisted on both GPUs. Did memtests, hard drive checks, different ram slots, different ram, checked power, tried with older drivers, tried older versions of motherboard drivers, updated BIOS, if you can think of it we've most likely tried it. It gets worse though, the sound jacks start detecting ghost devices being plugged in randomly. The Event ID 14 issue also gets progressively worse. So that brings me to this week, I got my hands on the machine. First thing I notice is the 750GB C:\ drive hard drive is transferring files off at 21KB/s... The drive was under very light usage by other programs under resource monitor so this raised a red flag. I swapped drives and put a fresh install of Windows onto a 1TB salvage drive. The computer works. No BSoD on driver install, no event ID 14, no ghost detections on audio jacks***, and it runs like a champ. So I check the SMART data on the 750GB and it says it is good. I make it do a filesystem check and sector check and comes back clean. It is also baffling working at its normal 50-100MB/s speeds now... You may have noticed the third part of the title, and also the fact I bolded and starred ghost detections for things plugging into audio are gone. That is because now the Windows log in noise has twice been replaced by brief disturbing very loud white noise / static. There is no rhyme or reason to the 2 instances where the login chime was static other than I think I used CCleaner during those power on instances. It has been restarted dozens of times over the last 3 days of testing it to see if the Event Id 14 error will come back yet it has only did static twice. The event generates no errors, and doesn't effect the computer in any other noticeable way. Sound works perfectly fine after the static where the windows chime would be. Since it is so early in the boot I don't think monitoring software would catch it. I want to say it is the motherboard but every component that shows signs of being dead has either returned clean or didn't change when replaced. At this point in troubleshooting it I'm assuming the computer is contacting Satan so my question is wooden stakes, silver bullet, holy water, or burned at the stake... /s For those that stuck around thanks for reading. Tomorrow I intend on testing my CCleaner theory, reinstalling the sound drivers, and continue stress testing to see if Event ID 14 is indeed gone for good since the hard drive change. If you have any other ideas to queue up for troubleshooting my new ghost friend let me know in the comments. -Thank you.

Hello guys. Today something really weird occurred. Just when I wope up, I noticed that my pc has its DVD drive ejected. But... I wasn't using it for past few weeks and certainly not yesterday. My first question is. How the heck can I check when did it eject? the only time it had was when I went to sleep and left the desktop powered on till torrent finishes downloading. Second question: How did it eject. I mean, it never ever happened before. And also, can the dvd drive get damaged by being left wide open for night? I just ordered GTA V for pc and it would be a pain in the wallet to buy another drive after this one tried commiting suicide. Cheers and thanks for every response.

Hey everyone, I know I'm a little late seeing as I've been reading forums about this problem from 2013, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to get call of duty ghosts to run properly with a crossfire setup. I have two 7950 windforce editions and I get better fps with one card disabled. There has always been a ton of lag since I got my second card and it's been buggin me. It's been a couple years and there must be some fix by now right? I have all updated drivers and my crossfire seems to be working with no problems. I can run Battlefield 4 at an average of 120 fps. If anybody has some tips or ideas I would be happy to hear them!

if you have a half good PC, you will have no problems with this game's optimization (unless you have a dual core) I want to find people there when I get a new computer, because I love Ghosts.

This is how Ghosts was meant to be played! A surround setup like this really puts you in the middle of the action. I almost feel like I'm running around poking holes in enemy players and capping their flags like a bawse. Ok, it really is that fun. B)

It was confirmed via twitter a few days ago through Wade Brainerd, Activision's principal technical games director that Activision titles will also support Mantle. Support for AMD's new low level API seems to be ramping up, especially from triple A game studios & large publishers. source

Hi all, I've been experiencing problems again with my system (I've never not had problems with it), this time it's with the display drivers (certain of this). Every time I start playing a game I'm fine up until I actually get to a point where I play, the menu and loading screens are fine, but then the game crashes and when I had the 14.4 drivers installed I got the "Display drivers have stopped responding and have recovered." error. I just now tried out Biosock Infinite, and I only got through the starting screens (Irrational Games/AMD Gaming Evolved/2K) and then the screen went black, and then Chrome appeared, but my system froze and I could still hear the music from Infinite. I had to CTRL + ALT + DEL and start Task Manager and end Biosock Infinite's process to unfreeze everything other than Task Manger (I could move my cursor around). So since I installed the 14.7 drivers I don't get a notification about the display drivers not responding, but the same thing happens with the 14.4. Wolfenstein: The New Order crashes straight away when I start the SP campaign, same goes for starting a match in Ghosts MP. I've uninstalled and re-installed the drivers 4 times now, and the problem persists, and what I find irritating is that it has only occurred today, just when I got Wolfenstein ~.~ This has happened before and it was resolved but I have no idea how (I have a decently bad memory). Just yesterday I was able to play Infinite fine. What I have installed today: CCleaner MSI Afterburner Wolfenstein: The New Order What I have done already: Re-installed 14.4 drivers 3 times, twice with a new download each time, the fourth with 14.7. Run CCleaner to clean up registry. Created a DWORD (32-bit) Value in regedit to set the TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery) Delay from 2 seconds to 6. Run a memory diagnostic, no problems were found. Run DXDIAG, no problems were found. Before each installation of the drivers I deleted everything AMD related (bar AMD Gaming Evolved and one file in C:/Prgram Files/Common Files/ATI Technologies/Multimedia) I deleted. I'm certain that Wolfenstein isn't the problem, though I'm really tempted to move everything that's on this HDD to my other one, format this one and then start fresh just because of all the hassles I've had. Also the problem is not because of temperatures, max on CPU1 is 65oC (bad thermal paste application, idle is about 43-46) and GPU1 doesn't break 40o (this would be because it's driver relayed, just thought to mention this in case some people ask me about temps). System Specifications: CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K running with stock CPU cooler RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB (1600MHz) GPU: Gigabyte R9 280X 3X Winforce OC Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87X-OC Force HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB PSU: Antec HCG-900 Peripherals: CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid Red; Logitech MX Revolution Monitor: AOC i2367Fh So what do you guys suggest I do? Re-install Windows? Or is there another option(s) that I should try? Cheers! Edit: Sorry about the uber long post, just trying to provide as much info as possible

I found this offer on G2A.com and was wondering is it safe to buy. I'm in the UK. Is Ghosts even worth the buy? Thanks in advance for the help! https://www.g2a.com/call-of-duty-ghosts-steam-cd-key-global.html http://gyazo.com/fee881fecb616dab90292f4241ac97a3

I finally got CoD: Ghosts to work on my HTPC/SFF (small form factor) build! This build is running without a dedicated video card, all of the graphical horsepower is being churned out by the CPU. Those of you with a laptop, notebook, etc. lacking a dedicated video card, that are wondering if this game will run ok for you, expect similar results. There have been a few patches to this game. So, instead of waiting 20 minutes in between menus and loading screens, I only had to wait 10! What an improvement! At this rate, we'll be able to test every single setting--without waiting several hours in between menus and loading screens--by the time Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Ghosts Ops is out!

Not sure if this has happened to anyone or not. While I was playing the campaign mode in one of the mission the water was showing interesting particles from distance, went close to it particles went bigger and and pretty much covered the whole screen in white green, yellow. black blobs as you can see in the screenshot and the video, quickly told shadowplay to record it... First Video http://youtu.be/DVjKdUG0Drs Second Video (Still Uploading) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWCvc1wtZpY Everything in my setting is on high as you can see from the video. Thought I will change only the water settings to low, to see if it will fix it. After saving the settings game started from the same place in the second video and the glitch was gone but came back again... I was wondering has anyone got that issue. My computer specs are below. CPU is overclocked to 4.2Hhz CPU Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core CPU Cooler Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid Motherboard MSI Z77 MPOWER ATX LGA1155 Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Storage Intel 520 Series 120GB 2.5" SSD Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Case Cooler Master Storm Trooper ATX Full Tower Power Supply Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V

Why everybody seems so eager to throw a rant at COD ? I agree that the past years COD hasnt been that good at all but isnt it a bit too early to launch an attack on Ghosts ? Maybe it will be bad but maybe it wont , Why so much hatred i just dont get it ... It's just a game after all . Btw the campaign is one of the best campaigns i've seen in COD .

Hi eveyrone so as you can see above my question about Ghosts is , is it playable ? and i dont mean gameplay wise because that is always going to suck , i mean performance wise , last time i tried at was about 4 months ago when i upgraded to 660 Sli but i was haveing really really bad stuttering issues and couldn't get 60 fps no matter what i tried So, Is It playable yet ? thanks in advance
