Hi, So what I am looking for is a WDS alternative that could run on my linux server (Ubuntu server 20.04) that would allow me to bassicly boot over network to clone a ISO to the computer im booting with and that would work for any type of iso's. I dont need anything too deep I would simply use this as a way of having a backup of my base install of my laptop and/or desktop install so that if anything happens I can restore a base image that has all of my basic configs done and everything that I dont want already turned off. I would like the software to be able to run alongside everything on my server so either in a docker container or in a vm idc. Thanks in advance for any proposition.

Hey all ! I have been waiting to watercool my PC for a while now and I finally bought the parts to do the transition. My current setup is: CPU: i5 7600k @4.4ghz passive cooled CPU cooler: noctua l12s (hand bent to fit) GPU : gigabyte GTX 1070 g1 gaming v.2 PSU : SF 600 Ram: 16gb something I got a m.2 and a SSD 2 Slim noctua fans on small tophat. The parts I bought : -radiator: tx240 crossflow rad (20.5mm thick)+xspc tx120 dual pass rad -Pump: DC LT 2600 ( Saw on optimum tech review )out of stock every where -Reservoir: DC-LT 40 -CPU WB: EK-Velocity Intel - Copper + acrylic CPU water block -GPU wb:Bykski Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 G1/1070 G1/1070 Ti Full Coverage GPU Water Block - Clear (N-GV1070G1V2-X) I have a version 2 graphics card and it's the only block I found for it, hopefully it's a good brand. -alphacool fittings . I mostly want to watercool just the GPU. But got carried away when I bought the parts . the plan is to cut the top grill to fit the crossflow rad without adding a top hat. I didn't want to add hight to the PC and spend 50€ just on a medium tophat. While I wait for the parts i'm fooling around with my cpu cooling it passively @4.4ghz with the l12s Wich Made me realize I prob won't need the extra 120 rad I bought, unless I oc it back to 4.7 GHz In case I change my mind the 120 rad will be mounted on bottom with medium top hat Cpu->120rad->GPU->pump->240 rad->CPU I'll post pics as soon as I can Toodles !

I bought a Asus GTX 1080 STRIX and I got a promotion code for 1 of 2 games; For Honor or Ghost Recon Wildland. Opinions on which one to get? I enjoy both hack and slash and shooters so I'm kinda stuck between the two.

Hey there I was wondering if theirs a way to make a windows 7 pro 64bit backup of my PC for my new SSD where It has all drivers updates and windows add-ons like net framework etc I know back in the day Norton ghost images would be used for pre built PC's but is there a way to do something similar to my windows. I know you can make a backup partition for windows with drivers and all you need to do is load the partition and run the backup or ghost. I have Paragon Hard Disk Manager™ 15 Suite licence key from my friend who works in networking. So what do I need to do to keep my fresh install with drivers but ghost image to my new SSD once I put everything on it? Windows 7 pro x60 Office Drivers Updates And image it to new HDD or SSD Samsung 950 Mini Sata

My Ghost arrived yesterday! Here are some pictures I snapped (not the best quality, there are comments in the imgur gallery) : https://imgur.com/a/eUzJIed Internals are here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BBMTq4 I tried to record my build, but halfway through it I ran out of SD storage, so the whole movie is a bit unusable. And because I thought I would have a recording I didn't snap any pictures during the build Remarks about the case in bullet points: Overall quality is very nice, lots of attention to detail and the feel of the finish is just excellent, but there are too many issues to justify the premium price of this case Small dents and damages to the anodisation all over the place, on every panel, luckily on zones that are not visible once the case is assembled The side-panels are 97% flush, there are some weird bends in it, but judging from other people, this is good enough The design of the top-hats is not very well thought through I think. The way the components of a top-hat attach to each other puts pressure on the plats, bending them if you tighten the screws too much. If you don't tighten the screws enough, the top-hat just falls apart, it literally just disintegrates in your hands Power button is even iffier compared to the one in the A4-SFX, absolutely no premium feel to it. PCB of the power-button also slightly bent. You can't stack top-hats, although I don't know if this was ever planned. Build overall was very nice, was very fun - although I think the A4-SFX was a nicer build, be it more rewarding because it was 1000% more difficult (with the 545LC AIO) The Pump of the Asus ROG Ruyjin 240 is 70mm tall, 4mm too tall, so currently running without the sidepanel. My plan is to design/model some sort of brackets that can hold a custom 3mm or 2mm plexiglass panel in place. Will have these brackets professionally printed and then lasercut a plexiglass panel. Performance and temperatures of the 8086K and Z390 are a-ok in my book. Might not be the ultra fastest rig out there, but considering its size it's more than decent: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/12904674 - this is just default without any overclocking.

System Specs: PSU: Corsair VS 650W MOBO: Gigabyte GA-B350M-Gaming 3 CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700 8c/16t @3.45ghz RAM: 20gb Hyperx Fury DDR4 @2500mhz GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 6gb @1949mhz STORAGE: 120gb Kingston SATA ssd, 2tb Seagate Firecuda SSHD The context and My Issue: I had an old WD Black 2tb HDD that was a pass down of a pass down from somewhere in the ball park of ten years ago. It ran like a champ up until two years ago, when it decided to go and I failed to recognize the obvious signs it was giving off. After two years of operating as an effectively dead HDD (upon boot the HDD would stay pinned at 100% usage for upwards of 10 minutes, and there were 0 reads or writes happening; AND it sounded like a coffee machine brewing coffee), I realized that the HDD had died, and it was causing serious dropped frames in games, recordings to become corrupted, and overall just taxation on my system as a whole. So I decided to unplug it (safely, of course) and see if that would help my system, knowing I would instantly lose all the data and shortcuts to that data. The result? Butter smooth gameplay and recordings look crisp. HOWEVER, I tried to launch any game that requires the EPIC launcher, and since it was on the old drive that I tore out, it goes looking for that connection to no avail. I also attempted to "uninstall" the launcher via "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows; nothing. Finally, I tried to install the launcher onto one of my current drives, however it gives me the error "Invalid Drive: D:\" (The Old Drive). Screenshot #1 shows when I try to launch Squad (since it's based on the Unreal Engine, I assume it's the issue), and how it won't allow me to proceed. Any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated. I don't have the option of reconnecting the old drive, either; it's long gone. I have essentially two issues, but I believe one stems from the other. How can I redirect my system to the new drive, if that's what I need to do? I believe the Squad crash is based around the prior issue. I apologize for the confusion.

This is my first post so I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I work for a medical facility and we just got in 6 dell Optiplex 7050s and they have Samsung pm961 NVMe ssd's in them. Now I have the first one all built perfectly and I'd like to clone/image it to the other 5 but I keep running into problems when using the Symantec ghost via external SSD. What is the best way or best software to use for this?

Hey everyone, I plan to build a new Computer for myself in the LOUQE Ghost S1 MK II when it comes out. I plan to use my old CPU (i7 6700k) on an Asus Maximus Impact VIII. I don't have the other parts yet, I'll buy them as I get closer to the release date, and probably after Louqe confirms that they're actually shipping the case. The plan is to make a good computer which I can take with me into college for intensive work like After Efects and Premiere Pro. My XPS 15 handles Photoshop well, but After Effects brings it to its limits pretty quickly if I do anything beyone basic shapes. Add a glow to something, and it'll start dropping frames and I get around 1FPS with one view open. That's why I planned to build a small computer to help with that. Plus I might do a piantjob on the case when I'm finished figuring the rest out. Between now and then, does anybody have reccomendations what -GPU, -(maybe RAM, might recycle from older machine) -SSD(s) -CPU Liquid cooler I should get. OR if somebody would know a "cheap" way to build the same thing wit han i7 7700k or i7 7800k, which would be even better. Cheers guys, have a great weekend!

Louqe Ghost S1 mk2 recently got out of kickstarter so what I might be asking might be very far-fetched. BUT I'm going to have some hope... I got super interested after watching Jayztwocents video of Louqe Ghost S1, so I read all kinds of Louqe's tests, read through their FAQs and kickstarter comments, and (of course) seen all videos on it. However, there was one question that was still left unanswered so I'm using all kinds of method to put myself to rest on this little 'itch'. HERES THE QUESTION: Will a graphics card fitted with a Kraken G12 (ideally a 1080 strix) fit in the Louqe Ghost S1 mk2? (and still close the side panel?) I have emailed Louqe but they haven't given me a satisfactory response...which was referring me to Kraken X31 and EVGA Hybrid card test. I left comments on videos with the question; left unanswered... My ideal build on the Louqe is to have TWO large tophats both on the top and the bottom of the Ghost S1 itself. The top...hat will have the 240mm AIO for the CPU The bottom...hat will have another 240mm AIO for the GPU fitted onto a Kraken G12. I am 99% certain that both radiators+fans will fit (since they will both have their 'tophats'), but still not sure if the graphics card and the G12 itself will fit inside (and still have the side panel close). I also know that from Louqe's FAQ that graphics card with 2.5 slot dimension will not fit. (But that still doesnt tell me if a G12 on a graphics card can fit) It seems very far-fetched to get this itch away, but I'm just hoping someone might have an idea here.

Yesterday at night I encountered an interesting problem. To begin with: I am using a deepcool aio, in which pump is near it's lifespan (it can be easily heard sometimes, cause it's being relatively loud and much louder than it used to be) So here is a problem: suddenly, after I shut down my PC the pump starts working, while PC is turned off and none of the LEDs shine. I know this exactly because it always runs loud when this happens. It even continues after I unplug PC from the wall. Any ideas WTF is happening and, if possible, any solutions?

Hi all, I'm about to purchase a new laptop for whenever I'm far from my desktop pc. I'm studying Architecture, plus I'm working as a photographer, so lot of photo editing. Also a gamer (recently I'm a lot into overwatch tho). That said.. I had a crush for a lot of time on the new Alienware 15 r2, but I've heard isn't very portable, plus the new panel has got some awful scores in adobe rgb and srgb percentages.. So, I narrowed it down to the Dell XPS 15 or the MSI GS60-6QE Ghost Pro 4K. Obviously the Dell is sexier, but the gap from the 960m to the 970m is huge, plus I've heard bad stories about Dell's products, having to return them quite often.. What do you guys think? Also if you don't agree with what I've said about the Alienware, please share your info! Thanks! P.S. I'm from Italy, so many other laptops you could suggest (like razer blade 2016) won't be avaiable unfortunately

Hi, I am new here. Hopefully I am in the right section. Okay, so I have an MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3k and honestly, I dislike the 3k screen. So I am looking to replace this screen with a 1920x1080 screen like on laptopscreens "dont remember if I cant post links" So mainly I am asking if I could downgrade my display without having any technical difficulties, or wasting my money. From other knowledge I know it does depend on the display you get, to make sure it will get enough power. Will it be getting to much power, and destroy the display? Many thanks in advance, and sorry for my terrible spelling...

Hi everyone. I've been using my gigabyte m8000x for years (like 6 or 7 in a row), but now it starts disconnecting sometimes, pointer is not as accurate as I want it to be. So I managed to start looking for a new mice. Would there be any suggestions? From personal experience, 1+ year of use. No tight budget, but don't really want to spend more than $50-65 on such device. And yeah, it's Australia Thanks.

source: http://www.needforspeed.com/en_GB/news/nfs-update --- there are two sides of this on the good side, it's quite awesome that they actually listened to what people want on the bad side, how on earth haven't they learned anything from the past? it's not the 1st and quite possibly not the last game released on PC with capped frame-rate - that's the whole effin' point of buying it for the PC and isn't like it happened to a different series !! just 2 years ago:

Basically I have been looking at the two. The exact models I'm looking at have the exact same specs and are the same price - 4720HQ, 16GB, 965M, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD - £1150 This thing will be travelling with me constantly, hence why I need it to be thin and light. I prefer the looks of the GS70 Stealth over the Ghost, BUT the ghost is lighter, thinner, and has an IPS screen. The Stealth has a 17 inch screen, and weighs a littler more with a (good) TN panel. I don't know whether it's worth sacrificing those in order to get the better looking Stealth.

Saw this brilliant video clip by Delta Heavy on Youtube today. I'm not really a big fan of this music genre, I don't even know what genre it is but I think the song is really catchy and fun and the video is well made too. Brings back so many nostalgia of the old Windows days. If you ask Cortana what she thinks about him, her answer is "What's not to like? The guy took quite a beating and he's still smilling". Kinda true. Can anyone tell me what genre is this btw?

Documents reveal the cozy relationship between lobbyists, officials, and the FCC Well, well, well. What do we have here? More collusion between Comcast, TWC and the FCC? Say it ain't so! If you've been wondering who actually supported Comcast in this and how anyone could, rest easy. Most people probably aren't. Comcast has been busy drumming up ghost letters without the "authors" approval on any level what so ever, and everyone has been turning a blind eye to this because support is support and I imagine someone at the FCC got their share of "support" to allow these "support" to be considered valid. Naughty, naughty Comcast. As a forum, especially our US residents, we should care more about a situation like this. If people were to be so invested in a scenario like this as they are in other manners affecting this site, imagine how powerful a message we could send to those in charge that we will not go quietly into that good night. http://www.theverge.com/2015/1/26/7878239/comcast-twc-fcc-merger-letters-politicians-ghostwritten

I just want to hear your opinions, anything will do, design, cooling, graphics, cpu, you name it. I'm still in a dilemma between the two and these reviews just confuse me more so I'd like to hear your opinions because I might be missing something. Don't base your choice depending on my needs and what I'm gonna do with the system as they can both do fine with what I wanted them to do for a few years. Edit: Non-pro btw, not available in my area yet

So i was watching the reveal and it finally is revealed. I'm not surprised. They have introduced set destructive environments and more polygons to the face, put Eminem to advertise, added character customization... I'm just sitting here pointing out the games it has copied features of. What are your thoughts on the reveal? I'm getting BF4 and Titanfall because COD:Ghosts is done. Not sure how this hasnt been a big thing on the forum, but during GPU 14 tech day presentation it was pretty much announced that Battlefield 4 will be the first game to support Mantle with a patch aimed for December. A low-level api with mad fine control over-hardware and potential for much faster computer, how is it nobody is excited about this? I've seen a few people mention it but seen no posts about it (though I may be blind). EDIT1: and this "perfect Parallel Rendering" has me VERY interested as an AMD cpu owner. Even if the game isnt really optomized for multi-core it'll scale it across all cores automatically? EDIT2: As is pointed out in another thread, this technology is not open source as was thought early on See https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/60597-mantle-is-not-open-source-works-only-with-gcn/ EDIT3: CoD Ghost will also Support Mantle as posted by TechFan@tic see https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/61138-call-of-duty-will-also-support-amds-mantle/ Sources: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7371/understanding-amds-mantle-a-lowlevel-graphics-api-for-gcn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantle_%28GPU_API%29
