Hello! I purchased the following used graphics card: Nvidia Asus GeForce CERBERUS-GTX1050TI-A4G (4GB GDDR5). The official specs say that this graphics card’s memory runs at 7008MHz, but in GPU-Z I see only 1752MHz. That’s just a quarter of the advertised speed! Am I missing something here? What is the real speed of this memory?

I'll post the configurations: This is for $815 Processor : Intel Core i7-9750H processor with max trubo speed of 4.50 GHz | RAM : 8 GB of DDR4 system memory, upgradable to 32 GB using two soDIMM modules Storage : 256 GB, PCIe Gen3, 8 Gb/s up to 4 lanes, NVMe SSD + 1 TB 2.5-inch 7200 RPM | OS : Windows 10 Home 64-bit Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM This is for $900 Processor: Intel Core i5-10300H processor, turbo up to 4.5 Ghz Memory: 8 GB of DDR4 system memory, upgradable to 32 GB Storage: 1 TB HDD 7200RPM + 256 GB SSD Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti with 4GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM In essence - I get a i7 Processor but a GDDR5 VRAM GPU in less cost than a i5 processor with a GDDR6 VRAM GPU for extra 100$. Also the GPU comes soldered to the motherboard. Very confused which one should I go for! Please help me out guys. -

I recently watched a video featuring a graphics card with GDDR4 memory and I thought to myself - I've never heard of GDDR4, only GDDR3 & GDDR5(x). So, what happened to GDDR4?

Are there going to be any 4gb Vega cards? Maybe something around 1060 3gb range? I'm looking for a decent mid-range card but can't quite spend the money on a 1060. Do you think I should wait for Vega or bite the bullet and get a 1050 TI?

I trying to decide between 2 versions of Acers e5 757g series. One has an i3 6100u + gtx 950m 2gb ddr5 The other has an i5 6200u + gtx 940mx 2gb gddr5 Everything else is the same. Even the price is the same. Is much better gpu worth the slower cpu???? Any advice appreciated.

Nowadays since even 2gb of VRAM is starting to become not enough in my opinion, i've wondered what is better 2GB of DDR3 or 1GB of GDDR5? I know that GDDR5 is much faster, but games like GTA5 require at least 2GB of VRAM. I'm just curious, and would love to hear what you guys have to say.

My motherboard will not POST please help. I may sound like an old fart but I can assure you I did the following: First I completely powered off the system and removed all components. Second I tried the combination of RAM with nothing but the video card and processor plugged into the motherboard. Third I tried different display ports. Fourth I inspected the motherboard and noticed a bent pin on the underside of the slot that ram plugs into. None of the other pins are touching each other but this bent one now. Could these two pins touching cause my Ram to not be detected? I'm thinking to build a new PC and I want it to be with 1660ti although Im on a tight budget. Would ryzen3 2200g with 8x2 Dual channel 3000mhz ram be enough? For the same price I can get intel 8400 and 8gb single stick ram,cheap motherboard (but will work fine) and gtx1060 gddr5x GPU. Which one among the two will be good? You can also suggest me a ryzen+1060 build if the price of that ryzen is same as i5 8400 or below I'm on a tight budget but here in SEAS the prices vary by a lot so giving a max amount in USD doesn't make sense as parts are kinda more expensive here but let's say I can't cross 750 USD.

Hello again my fellow computer nerds. So I bought two graphics cards off the online shopping app "Letgo".. they were listed as AMD RX580's.. 8gb gddr5.. First red flag was when I asked him 3 different times who made it... And, Asus, etc, and he ignored the question.. I got the feeling he was trying to rip me off, but at the listed price he had of 200$, and me talking him down to 160$, it was worth seeing what came out if it.. I told him I would need to plug it into my computer to confirm it worked, and confirm it was an 8gb rx580.. he agreed.. usually people who are trying to pull some funny business don't want you to look under the hood.. he got here and we talked and he told me they are generic brand cards, but they are indeed 8gb rx580's.... I ended up not having an 8 pin plug in my PC so I couldn't confirm it worked so I told him I was going to pass.. he then told me that he really needed the money bad and if I bought it and anything was wrong he would give me my money back.. I told him I would do it if he gave me both cards for 160$ total.. he agreed.. as soon as he left I realized I had two 6 pin cords hiding behind something in my case, so I installed them and went to hook up the crossfire bridge and realized there are NO fingers on the PCB to plug them in... So I installed just one, installed a power supply booster that has the correct cords.. installed amd rx580 drivers online from AMD.. everything works perfectly fine.. device manager and gpu-z and ccc all say it indeed is an 8gb rx580, all the clock speeds are right, everything looks legit.. and performance wise, they rock.. 1080p on ultra settings I'm getting 50-80 fps in world of Warcraft, counter strike source I'm getting 294 for on maxed settings.. it did artifact kinda bad one time while watching YouTube, but hasn't happened since.. temps are good.. everything seems fine... But it is clearly NOT a legite AMD RX580.. the shroud is different and has no branding... Just now I took it apart to see if I could see anything identifying on the PCB, and to my surprise, it has 8memory chips, and has an and branded chip..... What in the hell is this GPU???

I wanted to purchase a laptop that had MX150 4GB GDDR5 GPU enlisted on the spec sheet. I haven't quite heard of this variant as yet, just wanted to know whether this variant exists or not for laptops. T H Ä N Ç Č

A friend of mine had given me his old PC, sans hard drives, and interestingly the GPU in there was an unbranded Radeon HD 7570, but labeled as 4GB GDDR5. I had set down to research this, and astoundingly, it is a Radeon HD 7570, and it actually has 4GB of GDDR5 (4x1GB@750Mhz, i.e., 3000Mhz, manufactured by Hynix), and additionally, it also appears properly in Linux (working as well as any pre-GCN card from the HD 7000 series), with no tricks whatsoever. The cooler is obviously very low quality, but it seems to be alright for now (especially with the Arctic Silver 5 treatment). Funnily, it appears that this card is compatible with higher quality coolers for low- to midrange cards from known brands. The funny thing is, that it does not even appear in AMD's internal database, from what I had understood speaking with an AMD representative. I had tried sending AMD my findings, but for some odd reason my emails never get through, due to my address being "blocked" from sending messages to the address I was given, so I am posting them here, and when I'll have time, I'll notify AMD about this. The GLXinfo output has been uploaded to here, while the 7z archive containing the pictures (both original and labeled) of the board will be uploaded to Firefox Send when I have the time (~134.1MB, and I currently have very bad connectivity). I just found 2 cards of GTX 1650 of Asus One has GDDR5 and other GDDR6 with latter being $15 more Does the one has any significant advantage over other? And if it does, is it worth the 15 bucks extra?

Hi there, i found out something really strange. Some time ago, i ordered gpu from wish (gtx 1060 3g) and (suprise, suprise) it was fake. I found out some tips how to set card to work properly, but i need to know all details what card actually is. After demonting heatsing and clearing paste, i found out its GT 220 Gpu. Funny thing is, Nvidia sites says its GDDR3 card, but chips on card are labeled h5gq2h24mfr-t2c =>GDDR5 according to site. My questions are: 1) Is that even possible? 2) How to solve flashing bios in this case? Thank you for all tips and info guys.

Hello y'all, so basically I am in a hunt to make an old but rather dream rig so I need a specific graphics card which is rare to find. Heard of that XFX 6770 single slot variant? Yeah that's what I am looking for. Sadly one seller on eBay removed the item before just collecting all the money so I tried looking elsewhere but no luck.. Anyone here has one? Need 2 of these for Crossfire, thanks! And just for little extra information, my workload isn't all that great and I will be playing mostly racing games so this GPU will do just fine..

How do i even start to begin with at all.. Mostly zero experience with overclocking exept some friends fried their laptops while on the school. Or else i havent really overclocked anything at all. How do i even begin to overclock something and not frying the pc entirely? So many questions..

Now, I am not asking which one is faster, I am mainly asking if there are games that use more than 4GB of GDDR5 in 1080p. Games I am interested in: Shadow of Mordor, Rainbow six Siege, Witcher 3, Dragon age: Inquisition, Crysis 3, Far Cry 4&Primal, Ashes of the Singularity, thief, metro and others. Any of those that use more than 4GB in ultra settings? If so, do you think it would be worth going for 8GB?

For my new gaming pc I want to be able to run just cause 3 low to medium settings at a stable framerate on a 60fps 1080p monitor, as well as get 60fps on even the most demanding of minecraft and minecraft mods scenarios. Will a 2gb GDDR5 graphics card (VisionTek Radeon R7 360 2GB) be able to do that about 70% of the time? (Assuming the processor doesnt bottleneck it).

Hey there, I am wondering about the performance differences between the different RAM Types. Now of course dependent on what you do, "performance" is defined pretty differently. So for the purpose of this posting I will use performance as equal to "performance in the standard Firestrike Benchmark of 3DMark". The reason for my quesion is mostly because I'd like to be able to have a sense of how much of a step GGDR5 to GDDR5X is (in the upcoming GTX 1070 and 1080) and also how much of a boost HBM2 will be in the follow up generation. Mostly "better" VRAM also comes with an increase of other specs. So the GTX 1070 and 1080 will have more differences besides of the VRAM. But can anyone estimate on what difference it would make if you just exchanged upgraded the VRAM (and it's connections that it could actually be used). And what about HBM? Well, HBM2 is not used yet from what I know. But what is the estimated boost from HBM2 over HBM? If you leave out that you could put more RAM in the same space. In this instance, would you compare the R9 380X (which has 4GB of RAM) to the R9 fury for example and say that the difference is basically the boost due to HBM Memory? Of course there is hardly an exact answer. But I'd appreciate your best guesses and extrapolations from the know examples we have with current cards and data. Will a cheap HBM2 card blow a top GDDR5X card away just because of the VRAM? Or is the boost and the role of this step rather limited and only plays a small role in overall performance boost?
