Okay to start off this is my first ever build! I have minor experience with adding expansion cards but I used to sell computers so I am familiar with most of the hardware etc. Previously I have never had an enthusiast or gaming pc just a small laptop with a crappy discrete chip nothing performance based. I had considered an xbox or ps4 but I was driven towards a great pc something that can max settings on most games and is very quick and fast. Once I finally sold my old car it was time to buy everything I needed to build the rig. original idea: Thermaltake view 27 case (this was original plan) Gigabyte z170x gaming 3 motherboard Intel Core I5 6600k cpu Gigabyte Windforce overclocked Gtx 1070 gpu Ripjaws v ddr4 2133 2x8 gb sticks (this was original plan) Corsair cx650m power supply Tp link dual band wireless n pcie network adapter Coolermaster Hyper T4 heat sink actual build: Nzxt h440 white and black case Gigabyte z170x gaming 3 motherboard Intel Core I5 6600k cpu Gigabyte Windforce overclocked Gtx 1070 gpu Ripjaws v ddr4 3000 2x 8gb sticks -->>> big issue here because i think my ram inst supported by the mobo Corsair cx650m power supply Tp link dual band wireless n pcie network adapter Coolermaster Hyper T4 heat sink 500 gb hd 120 gb ocz ssd i have installed 3 led fans in the top and rear of the case and retained the three factory fans on the front everything is installed except I cannot get the mobo to post I fear my last minute ram exchange is the issue. I am going to play around tonight and see if I can figure out the issue. I will give an update with some pics as well.

I think I've changed my setup 6 times in the last several months, and well, I am completely fkn lost. I really wanna know what anyone of you would like to see, no bullshi*. My kids have no real interest and the idea of macaroni and string is pretty cheesy. ;) ? So check out the pics below and let me know. I had a ton of resources but now I am somewhat limited to DIY ( which i love) and what you see. I'll be adding a Cintiq table later down the road as well which will be connected to a heavy-duty monitor arm that i have. That room is what i got, so perhaps someone here has some amazing organizational skills? Cheers peeps!! -DC

I'm planning to put my first rig together. It's going to be used mainly for gaming, media consumption and a bit of 3D moddeling. This what i've came up with fiddling on pc part picker, i'm not informed when it comes to RAM and motherboard so i'm not sure for those. I would like to keep head room for upgrading later on, which is why i went ATX on the motherboard. Any case would do if there's anthing with better value I plan to use one 1080p monitor for starter, but it could be changed for 2, or upgraded. Windows is expensive, so i'm probably going to get it from a Keygen re-seller. Any suggestion help, I'm trying to keep the rig lower than 500$CAD (380$US) if possible. Hi, everything said in the title, amd based gaming rig and budget could get some 500$ up or down depending on your suggestion, RGB and Case are not priorities and I aim to spend all I have on the hardware, I also need a monitor suitable for 3d designing and model drawing so monitor's budget is seperate from main budget, that is up to 500$ if you have any suggestions Also I like to have Threadripper 1900X if possible but I'm listening to any other recommendations. Thanks in advance

Hello everyone! It's gonna a bit strange, I've just signed up and I'm already here. Budget & Location: I live in Romania so it's a bit harder to get cheap and powerful parts for a pc. However it's not impossibile, so I managed to found some parts which are okay for their price. I want to spend 350$ for a pc. I was thinking the AMD Athlon X4 845 with the Nvidia Geforce GT 730 2GB, DDR3, 128bit(I can't change this one), with 8GB of DDR3 memory, for the motherboard the ASUS A68HM-K would be perfect and a 500GB Toshiba HDD would do nicely. Now I have seen some videos about it like how can it handle GTA 5, I've seen some stuttering and all 4 core were used 100%, the guy who made the video had a 750Ti card. So this is main reason of why this topic exist. I could go with the Intel Pentium G4400, but that CPU only has 2 SkyLake cores, I would trust in that 4 cores, but I'm not sure if it would be better than the Intel Pentium G4400. Also if I would go with the Intel CPU I'm gonna need the ASUS B150M-K motherboard, which is more expensive and I have to buy DDR4 Rams. Aim: I would do some editing, and gaming, mostly gaming. Some GTA 5, Far Cry 3,4, Fallout 4, BioShock and some Tomb Raider. If I'm gonna have to lower the settings a bit, that's okay, a 30-45 fps would be good on theese games. Monitors: I have a 4:3 60Hz 720p monitor laying around, I don't know the max. resolution, but if it's really important I'm gonna check it if I get home. It's an okay size for me, and I guess I'm gonna have that 30-45 fps, because the monitor don't have a widescreen. I would go with a widescreened one which is not so big but just okay for me, but I can only find expensive and big ones. Peripherals: I have all the peripherals I need. Why are you upgrading? It's pretty obvious at this point, that I don't really have that much money, so my pc which I use right now shouldn't be powerful. Well it isn't, it has 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 2 cored Intel Pentium G945, and an integrated Intel Express Chipset Family Graphics card. I've been using this pc for 3 years now. I really love retro games too, so I can play San Andreas, Postal 2, some of the Half Life series, Counter Strike 1.6, Made Man, Undertale. However some of theese games are getting constant updates, but my card cannot get any. I can barely use it for web browsing and YouTube. P.S: I am Hungarian but I live Romania, however I love to learn English. Still I am nowhere near perfect.

I was looking at getting a gaming rig for my room so my brother can have the first one. My overall budget (not including keyboard and mouse) is around $1800AUD (rather keep it below $2kAUD). I am planning to play games like bf4 (and bf1 on release), world of tanks and overwatch. a Below is what I have. Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! First of all I would like to thank you guys in advance for giving some useful insights and suggestion. Just having the time to click my thread and read it means so much already. This will be my first time in making a gaming computer for myself and using my own funds. I just graduated college and some what landed a job. but of course being a good son. I am helping out at home with bills and expenses. Limited funds are available to me hence the 300$ budget. I already purchased a gtx 750 ti which is on sale in my country (Philippines). It was price roughly around 130$ if you convert our currency to american mullah. so I'm left with 170$ of my budget. I will however will save up to upgrade some parts sometime in the future. For now i really want to utilize the 750 ti that i purchase that will not bottleneck it. the only parts that I have is the gpu. So i'm asking for help what should be a good alternative for now so that i play some casual games and mmorpg like DOTA 2 / Blade and Soul / Black Desert Online / CSGO. Maybe COD Black Ops 3. I already have a 1080p monitor in the mix. so 1080p gaming is my aim.In settings for now i wouldn't mind mid to high settings or even low. as long as i can hit an average 60fps. Fill in the blanks CPU - Mobo - GPU - Zotac Gtx 750 ti 2gb ddr5 Ram - Hdd - PSU - Case - P.S English is not may first language. I just hope I was able to explain what my thoughts are. P.S.S. I think purchasing 2nd hand items are not an issue to me.

Hi, i'll just list my current setup: CPUAMD FX-8320 Black Edition MotherboardMSI 970-G43, Socet-AM3+ RAMVengeance 4x4GB 9CL GPUXFX Raedon R9 280 3GB GDDR5x CaseCooler Master Haf 912 Plus StorageHyperX Fury SSD 120GB, Western Digital Caviar® Green 1TB PSUCorsair CX 750W PSU CoolingCooler Master Seidon 120V CPU Cooler Now I am not sure what I should upgrade next, but atm, i'm not happy with the performance, and have been thinking it might be my CPU, its currently running fine at 4 GHz pr core. Currently I am thinking of a GPU upgrade thought, 980-ti would be sweet but might not be the right priority. Can't remember what it was, but I read that one shouldn't get a new HK/Int processor before next year. Think it was some new 3D rendering or something, not really update with it. But yes, I should list why I want to upgrade I guess. So I would like to run Witcher 3, Gta V Online and Fallout 3 on Max settings, note I said that I would like, but its not a requirement. Also my Monitors are not high end, so 1920x1080 75Hz, so nothing fancy. Also stuggle a tad with Rome 2/ Attila in the total war franchise would be neato if I could max Warhammer, but as we are not sure as for requirements for it, one cant really build for that yet(I know its the same engine as Rome 2 and attila). Anyway, feel free to post advice or questions, I will answer or check up what you bring up.

Hey everyone! Right now I have a Corsair 600T case that is too large for me and I would like to make a much smaller PC with a Corsair Air240 case. This case can only fit one rad in it so i'm deciding whether I should liquid cool my CPU or GPU. Hello everyone, Everything in life is changeable, so is my gaming set. I was console guy for 6 years (ps3 fat, not a single issue), but I want to give PC a chance. I don't have particular pcpartpicker build, because I really don't know what I want . I know that I sound like a douche guy, who order everyone, but main reason is that when I build my dream pc, I am killing my wallet with a price and I don't know what to change to lower the value. I am looking for pc that can play newest games and will be capable to be a hackintosh, also I don't want to change every part of it for quite a few years. I made this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yKzHpg but it is killing my budget few times, but I don't know what to drop it is like I want the have a cookie and I want to eat a cookie in the same time. So can someone of you guys point, and change things to lower the price? I was thinking about water cooling but as a person who listened a lot good stuff about big noctua I don't know what to think. And I made long post that probably can be half shorter, but I wanted to write all that stuff , sorry Also my second post on a forum. First was in giveaway, but it doesn't count

I am not very good in what comes down to knowing about computer parts but here is a "build" that I have personally gathered up based on my own knowledge which is rather minimal. I hope that you guys could help me out by pointing out flaws and if you could find something better for the same price. I will use this PC mainly for gaming. I often like to run many things at the same time for example when I am connecting to a BF server I usually play some other game and I almost always play on windowed mode so I wish for my build to run games at least 60fps most of the time. The question is simple. Compatibility, as I've heard, is very important so is avoiding bottlenecking your performance. There's a plethora of parts to buy the first time one has to build a full computer. Planning the build is not easy, but in order to have a somewhat more clearly defined starting point I'd like to ask, Which is the first part or which are the first parts that I have to choose when planning to build a gaming pc, parts around which the rest of the computer will be built? Is this even a good question to ask? Or am I creating a false priority that won't actually help me in building the computer.
