Budget (including currency): 800(ish?) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: variety Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): ryzen 7 3700x Ram 32GB gpu: Radeon rx 570 power sup: 750W Dual LG 4k monitors first time posting… this is my first pc build. I’ve had it for a couple of years now. I’m a videographer and editor by trade. I got into streaming for fun last year and I’m looking to upgrade to a better graphics card to be able to handle streaming and game performance, maybe some game recording to mess around with some fun projects, but also be able to do more work from home. My current editing software is DaVinci Resolve which, at this time, is not compatible with AMD’s current version. I believe this will get fixed in the future but whether I stick with AMD or not for this purpose isn’t really a deciding factor. I’m just hoping to make a decent upgrade at this time. I am not computer literate… so looking up graphics cards and seeing mostly numbers and “ti’s” is like trying to read another language for me. I’ve been looking up GPU’s and seeing good things about the Nvidia Rtx 3070’s other than price as well as the new 4070’s but a lot of YouTubers are saying not to buy them? I’m not trying to break the bank… but I want a decent upgrade and I don’t want to worry about upgrading again in two years. I’m hoping to find something solid for what I want to use it for at a decent price. Can anyone give me some good options?

Computer Specs: Ryzen 5 1400 OC to 3.40GHz Zotac GTX 1060 6GB amp edition MSI tomahawk B350 motherboard EVGA 450bt powersupply G Skill trident z RGB 16gb 3200mhz ram kingston 125gb ssd Western digital blue 1 tb hard drive. 3 monitors, one 2k, one 1080p, and one old geezer. Each occupy respectively DisplayPort, HDMI, and dvi. Drivers: windows: 19042.867 Nvidia: 461.72 Issue: During gameplay of either fortnite, red dead 2, or minecraft (with PTGI shaders), I can either have the game crash, my computer reset with a black screen, or blue screen of death. I never had this issue approximately a year ago and now I am having the issue. I have already did a clean install of my graphics drivers twice which eliminated the black screen issue. I have downclocked the cpu from the original OC of 3.6 which eliminated the blue screen issue. But the games both still will crash back to desktop. I have disabled the antivirus I have (Norton in this case) but this never has caused an issue ever before. A back ass solution was to limit the frame rate to something lower than the limit. So red dead can cap at 45 fps but capping at 30fps prevents crashing. I noticed as well I tried updating my amd chipset drivers with their downloader but it says that I don't have an amd setup to being installation. Not sure why at all.

It only happened so far in one game but there's an audible whine or static buzz, not sure what it is but I guess the gpu? Is that normal? I don't really play games that are that demanding and I wear headphones so I never noticed it before. The game is BDO Specs x570 rog dark hero 3950x 6800xt rog lc corsair hx850i psu https://imgur.com/a/htWI415 some readings from when this is ongoing Edit: the pc is connected to a UPS. Gonna check if the whine is present when I'm running off wall power directly

I'm trying to find a no-compromise solution to record extremely smooth gameplay footage. I want to achieve the following: 1) Up to 4K60 recordings (usually 1440p) 2) Leaving Gsync enabled on my main monitor 3) Consistent frametimes in the recording 4) Minimal to no performance impact on my gaming PC 5) 1440p 240Hz on my monitor (I'm aware capture card passthrough is limited to 144Hz so I wouldn't use that). I tried the following but encountered issues: 1) GeForce Experience Shadowplay: inconsistent recording frametimes when Gsync is enabled. When I cap my FPS at 60 or disable Gsync, I get smooth recordings. 2) OBS: inconsistent recording frametimes when Gsync is enabled, large performance hit 3) OBS+NDI: recordings seem smoother, but there's still more of a performance hit than Shadowplay. I've heard mixed results about using a capture card and duplicating displays, can anyone confirm if this actually works well? Do most YouTubers/streamers just not use Gsync? Cause I really can't stand tearing. Thanks!

I stream gameplay to YouTube and sometimes moments happen during gameplay that I feel would make a good GIF. I don't want to download the entire video just to make a 15 sec GIF. What do you think would be the best way to isolate a short clip from a long stream video?

Greetings, everyone! I will soon get a capture card so I can record some PS1 games for the nostalgia. These will be played on my PS3 and I'd like to know which capture card between the HD60 and the HD60 Pro would be best for this. I read that you usually need a splitter for it to work, is this true? How should I go about the process? What are the differences between these two capture cards apart from one being PCIe? Thank you in advance, - Nervly Also, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

So, for people who want to record their gameplay for example, they have to buy a capture card (which is very expensive btw)because software solutions are often limited duration and/or have a watermark and they drop your framerate when you use them when gaming (especially on lower-end systems). I have an Xbox One and it has HDMI passthrough so I was wondering if there is some kind of software for the xbox to record my gameplay while connected to the pc and a monitor with HDMI. That would be great because I wouldn't have to buy a seperate capture card for recording my gameplay. Is there maybe some application for that or just an option???

I hate wearing headphones while playing and recording. I know wearing headphones is the best and simple way to avoid echo but I can't bring myself to play like this. I really like playing with speakers. Could you guys recommend a mic to minimize the echo? Shotgun mics? Cardoid mics? Low sensitivity mics? What's the better option here? It's a combination of a low sens mic and shotgun mic in one? Or a soundcard that cancels echo pretty well?

I know my thread title doesn't really make that much sense so I'll try and explain exactly what I am trying to do. I want to try and make a gameplay/machinima web series, which is essentially my friends and I playing 7 days to die but with established slightly overexaggerated characters with SOME choreographed interactions. So far I have an Elgato capture card to record the first-person perspective gameplay, although I want to go a step further. I am trying to find a way of recording the actions of what is taking place on the 7 days to die server in a three-dimensional space. Or in other words, I want to find a way that I can capture what is happening within the game so I can return in editing and get dynamic angles of whats occurring in-game. Similar to the theatre playback feature in Halo 4. This will allow me to kinda bridge the two worlds of let's play and machinima. I really have no idea on how to do this, so if anyone has any ideas how this can be achieved the help would be very much appreciated. And I know that it is unlikely that there is a way to do what I am trying to do, but yea never know!

So a few days ago I tried using Shadowplay to record some Fortnite moments, and it was smooth sailing, but then, I noticed in my finished clip that there were lots of moments where the clip became extremely choppy or jittery PC SPECS: i5 7400 GTX1060 3gb 8GB RAM And a single HDD I record to (Probably the issue) Does recording to the same drive my OS and game located affect my recordings? I monitored my CPU and Disk usage in TM and Disk was on 80-90% basically all the time I was recording, should I not be retarded and buy myself a new drive to save my videos? SSD's have come a long way and I don't feel as scared if I do decide to continuously write files there, but is it worth it for a smoother recording or should I just buy a 1TB WD black? I went on Fortnite and collected a bunch of dummy clips, then chucked in some music, watch the 1st minute and you can see the stuttering. Any help would be greatly appreciated Link: (There was some audio desync, but I did this in a hurry so didn't have time to correct it)

Hello. I just recently got into the forums to ask this question: I'm planning to record gameplay of my favorite game, Rainbow Six Siege, with my laptop. But even playing it without recording, my laptop can't stay at 60fps and I'm searching as to what is it that makes my laptop not able to rune R6S at 60fps. My specs are as follows, Acer Aspire E 14 E5-475G-58WK Intel Core i5-7200U 2.5GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1Ghz NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 2 GB Dedicated VRAM 4 GB DDR 4 Memory *it's worth noting that my laptop model's CPU can't be upgraded, since it's soldered to the motherboard After benchmarking with cinebench, my laptop got a score of 249. Also, when playing R6S terrorist hunt mode, with task manager open, it showed that my CPU was at 100% utilization and my RAM was at 91% on average. My GPU was showing 80% utilization on average as well. So, my question is, can my laptop be improved to be able to play at 60fps and record gameplay, or should I buy a new one? Thank you

Hey Guys, I've ran into a bit of a problem. Every time I try to record, stream or have OBS open at all, my frames per second on skyrim drop a good 15 to 20fps on 1080p this generally lands me between 25 at the worst performance areas in the game, averaging around 44fps outside and 60fps in the interiors whilst if I don't have OBS on I can turn the settings up to 1440p and not really have to worry about FPS at all but as someone who wants to stream and record gameplay this isn't ideal so I've had two ideas. 1. I can upgrade my CPU and GPU from a 6700k and 1070 to a 1080ti and something else or I could if it's at all possible, run the programs on different computers. Is the later possible? I'm not entirely sure how OBS would hook into the game. Other solutions are also welcome

Hi I'm looking for some games with long singleplayer campaigns or lots of quests/missions, I'm a sick fan of wolfenstein, doom and fallout so I've already played all of them, I was pretty dissapointed with Battlefield 1, it took me roughly 8 hours to beat it in Hard difficulty, same with CoD. I like open worlds, action, futuristic, post-apocalyptic and interesting stories, I've tried to play skyrim and dark souls but I'm really not into the type of fantasy both offer so I ended up uninstalling them, I also like games like Minecraft or Garry's mod that involve building and creation, please no multiplayer because I used to get mad af when someone on my team started trolling on purpose just to make me die so I've ditched that mode for good like 4 years ago

I'll get right to it by listing my current setup: A Razer Blackwidow X Keyboard (With the loud, green switches) A Logitech G303 Blue Snowball Mic with a pop filter My problem is that no matter the positioning of the microphone the clicking of my switches and mousebuttons in the background and I have no idea how I can fix it (Well I guess except doing after commentary-type things ^^) Replacing any of the peripherals is out of the question since they are pretty much what is perfect for me in terms of performance when playing, so I hope someone here can help me out.

Another Saturday, another meetup. This time we actually tried one of the suggested war games and had a blast until the server decided to boot us of. After that we tried to get another group shot which failed horribly due to other players. Setting up the missile testing was equally interesting and revealing. Some stupidity and crashes later most of us have left and we did some more testing with the available ships (read Sabre) in Vanduul Swarm. As Always the whole thing was streamed to our YouTube Channel (this time without a piece of window hanging in the frame) Time table thanks to @colt92

I'm getting constant fps stutter/choppyness in a lot of games, the thing is I don't think it's microstutter because I look at MSI Afterburner and it doesn't show any significant drops in fps that would cause this noticeable of stutter. It's usually whenever I'm moving around the world in games, like Dragon Age Inquisition for example, I'll run around the map and my character will skip forward every few seconds & it'll be super choppy. It's really making my gaming experience bad. I thought maybe it was my GPU but I switched my GPU(270x) with my other GPU(7870) and the problem was the same so now I'm thinking it may be my CPU No matter what I cap my fps to it'll still do it. Vsync on or off it still happens.Tried borderless fullscreen, fullscreen etc. I reinstalled my drivers, I even rollbacked my drivers from Crimson 16 beta to crimson 15.12 and nothing has changed. Reinstalled Windows 10. I have some screenshots of my FPS, CPU Usage & GPU usage: Specs: i3 4160 Sapphire R9 270x 8gb ram 500w PSU Windows 10 64 bit Radeon Software Version 15.12

Hello, I have a problem recording BF-4 with Dxtory. The program doesn't detect it running although I am using Direct X and have disabled origin in-game. I can record other games with it flawlessly it's just BF-4 that's causing the problem. Also I do have MSI afterburner but not riva statistics tuner or anything of the sort but I still close anything running in the background that looked like it could cause some issues. Thank you for your time.

Hello! So I record csgo videos... and upload em of youtube! Now my Shadowplay settings are 720p,60fps,45Mbps, using H.264 My Game Res is not 1280x720! I change it alot to following: 1152x720,1280x860,1280x960,1440x900 and 1600x900: for the lower I've enabled scaling so it fills the whole screen up; Video file shows 60fps; I stretch the file in Sony Vegas13 and Render at 60fps 720p! But as it goes live on youtube It doesn't say 720p60fps but just 720p that's all ty for reading
