Hey everyone, I’m currently looking for a budget laptop that can run GameCube games at a playable frame rate. Only reason why I’m currently looking for one it’s because I want to play online with friends so pretty much of it can run Mario Party, Smash, and Strikers I’ll be okay with. I’m not to knowledge as to what would be a good laptop without having to spend big bucks. Budget is maybe around $400?

Budget (including currency): $50-100 (if this is possible) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Dolphin Emulator (Gamecube and Wii games) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Dell Optiplex 3020 SFF with i5 4590 (4c 4t @3.7 Ghz), 8 GB DDR3 The GPU needs to be single slot and small form factor. This is more for the future since the GPU market is crazy right now. Would something like a GT 1030 suffice?

So I am currently at my local used games store and I have enough money for either a GameCube, a wii with almost every accessory, a ps2, a ps3, or an Xbox 360. I need help choosing because I’m indecisive as all hell. Just something to note though, I do not have an Xbox account, and I do not want to pay for Xbox live, however the games on it might be good enough to warrant a purchase of Xbox live. thanks for helping me choose

Budget (including currency): $500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rocket League, Divinity Original Sin 2, Forza Motorsport 7, Halo Master Chief Collection Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So the main issue seems to be locating a Mini STX motherboard. The dimensions of the Gamecube are too small for Mini ITX. Combine Mini STX with COVID-19 availability and it was resulted in difficulty in locating a Mini STX motherboard. eBay and Amazon are dry. I found one via: https://www.shopblt.com/item/gigabyte-ga-h110mstx-hd3-h110-dp-lga1151-i/gigmbd_gah110mstxhd3.html. I've found 6th/7th gen Intel CPUs available on eBay and I have a Pentium G4400 laying around that I can at least boot up the computer with. I can source the rest of the parts (dremel, DDR4 laptop memory, M.2 drive, SFF cooler if Intel cooler won't work for various reasons, DC adapter). I guess my main questions come down to: 1. Will I be able to find a graphics card that will fit this thing? Most graphics cards I can find are ~ 170MM in length and the Gamecube is ~ 150 x 160 x 110. Even the low profile GPUs seem to be longer than SFF cards 2. Will waiting out COVID-19 even be fruitful for finding Mini STX motherboards? Supply seems low and I'm not sure what regular pricing is. I know Gigabyte/Asrock/Asus make Mini STX boards, but can't find any new other than the link posted above. There was a part on two different Mac websites that says "unavailable" after you attempt to buy it for ~ $40 US. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've found other threads on sites talking about building PCs inside of the Gamecube. Computer will be hooked up to a Samsung 4K TV. I currently have a computer using an i3-4370+GTX 1650 hooked up to it. Works fine for 1080p, though I can crank up to 4K for older titles.

Original articles: Nintendo Life Nintendo Everything Original forum post: ResetEra The forum post also goes on to list the contents of the leak: As well as the other content that has leaked over the last few weeks: Atheerios also handily links a video showing a demo ROM from one of the leaked Nintendo 64 files, used to test the console: All of this makes it a very exciting time to be an legacy Nintendo console fanboy (like me), possibly extending the possibilities of Homebrewers on their consoles. Some of the enthusiasts on r/WiiHacks have been discussing the possibilities: I'm very excited to see what people will be able to do with their Wiis now that there are no limits other than those of the hardware. (It'll be interesting to see if it can run Crysis)

I'm building a new computer in a LAN box PC case (HAF XB Evo). I wanted to know if there was anything out there that I could put into the disk bay to connect Gamecube controllers. It would be like a USB extension slot for the front of your PC but instead of USB 3.0 ports, it would be Gamecube inputs.

Okay, this has got to be frustrating more people than me. I have been using Dolphin emulator and I love it... For the most part. See, some games I can run at sixty frames per second fine. Then there are others like Super Mario Sunshine and etc. that run at a max 12 frames per second. Does anyone have some advice on how to boost it up at least to maybe 25-30 frames per second? My Laptop specs are listed below: 750 GB HDD Intel N3540 2.16 Ghz processor (Dual Core) Linux Mint (Latest release) 4 DDR3 RAM/Memory A lot more specs that would take to long to explain. Lol. Can anyone help?

So I really want to buy a gamecube, my friend had one when I was younger and I only played it a few times but I loved it, I've thought about getting my own so much over the years but I'm really serious about getting one now! I've been trying to blitz through research into the best way to play the games now but I'm still a little stuck. ~I know I want a gamecube as opposed to a bc wii, mostly for the ability to play gameboy games on it but also just because I love the look and it gives me such great memories. ~Much as I'd love a component cable I definitely can't afford to shell out over £100 for them! S-Video seems like a good middle ground, though I read that as I don't have a CRT tv the image won't be quite as sharp as it could be, but it still seems like a good compromise. ~I don't have any experience with modding further than putting files other people have created into my own sims games on my pc but I don't think that counts! I would still be open to modding a gamecube (homebrewing?) but I don't think I would be confident in making any physical modifications myself. However if I could buy an already modded one (to unlock the regions for example) then I'd be really happy with that too. ~Speaking of regions, I'm not sure what region gamecube would be the best for me to buy! I live in the UK so I'm naturally drawn to a PAL console, but I read that there were games released for america/NTSC regions that weren't released at all over here, so I don't want to miss out on any games! I know the freeloader disk is an option to get around that but I read it only worked for japan region games, is that true? I can't read japanese so I couldn't play any of those games anyway unless they had an english setting. My friend had Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Sims, Super Mario Sunshine on her gamecube, I loved those games so much then and I still do now! I also want all the Zelda games, and I love RPGs, recently I've been looking into JRPGs as well, and my brother will no doubt buy more realistic fighting games for it too. I don't want to buy a PAL gamecube and then find I can't play something I want to on it! People say NTSC games sell cheaper than PAL games as well, though I don't know if that's true. I also read that PAL consoles don't allow for progressive scan mode, which improves that graphics quality of the game, so that's also something for me to consider. So I wondered what you would recommend! Should I buy two consoles, one PAL and one modded for both NSTC and NSTC-J games, or is that completely unnecessary? If only one console, should I buy PAL or NTSC? Or if I've vastly misunderstood something in my research then please correct me! I just really want to enjoy the old games I used to and discover even more along the way! Thankyou!

So recently i went to get my GameCube from out of the dust. I would love to get it to work on my monitor through its VGA-input. I have the component cables (white, red and yellow) and i already have a thingy that i can put the red and black in (the audio cables). My only need now is how i can get the yellow one in my VGA-port. I already watched this guide (I need to do this stuff to the cable). My question is: does this work? Also I´d rather not do this and get a converter instead, however I have no experience with them and I don´t know what is good and which ones are terrible. I ask this here since i know people will have done stuff like this here and will have gone through the same stuff as i am going through now. I would really appreciate any help, i thank you guys, girls and apache helis already. Greetings Benjamin.

Hi everyone! I recently had the idea to stuff a pc into a GameCube chassis. I've seen a couple of people do it online, but only with integrated boards. I decided to try my hand at it. I'll try to update the build log every week. The goals of this build are: Look as close as possibly to an original GameCube (No cutout for I/O shield) Use original buttons and controller ports - rewired to usb/aux Total cost under $500 Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2400g Motherboard: ASRock A300M-STX RAM: Crucial 16gb (2x8gb) DDR4 3200mhz SO-DIMM Storage: Crucial P1 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD A couple of things about the specs: I thought this build would benefit from the Ryzen APU, as there isn't enough room for a graphics card. The chassis is too small for an ITX board, but STX will fit. The PSU is a laptop-style adapter included with the motherboard I've ordered all of the components and they should be coming in soon. In the meantime, I made a really rough model in SketchUp to check the clearances of the motherboard, CPU cooler, and case fans: Top Down View: Side View: The side fans I plan on using are Noctua NF-A6x25 PWM fans. I'll try to use a wraith stealth for the cpu cooler, but it might not fit. That's it for now, I'll make an update once I receive all of the parts. Update 7/15/19 I finally recieved most of the components for this build. I still need the case fans and some adapters for the I/O but this should be enough to start mocking it up inside the gamecube. Update 7/27/19 The first step of the build is to dissasemble the GameCube. Then I needed to dremel out the the bottom to make room for the motherboard. After that, I epoxied the expansion covers into place from the outside and inside.

I just downloaded The legend of zelda wind waker and twilight princess from <content removed> and they were both 1.46gb after being unzipped with 7-zip. Im just wondering if this size looks fine and if the website looks fine aswell. Im pretty sure the websites fine, but searching the game's sizes on google says they're 1.13gb on the gamecube so i don't know why it's bigger. Should i care, should it be a problem? BTW, i'm using dolphin 5.0 emulator and both games run fine at the start (that's as far as i've gotten) Thanks for any help

I have RE4 HD for PC, and I'm trying to use a Gamecube controller for it. I have an official Wii U Gamecube controller adapter and controller. It registers as a vJoy input device. vJoy devices can't have multiple inputs bound to a single controller input. Two good examples would be moving and aiming with the left stick, as well as using A for both attack and action. I installed x360ce and tried using that, but that causes it to read the input as coming from a 360 controller AND a vJoy device. This is causing it to flat out not work because it reads "input form 360 controller, I'll do that" and then "input from vJoy device, stop everything and start doing that one" making me just stand there. Does anyone know a way to use a Gamecube controller with RE4 HD on PC?

I want a gamecube controller adapter for my wii u, but the ones nintendo made an released are either sold out or super overpriced, so i was wondering about this one, http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAYFLASH-Wii-U-PC-USB-4-Port-GameCube-Controller-Adapter-for-Super-Smash-Bros/111626273451?_trksid=p2045573.c100506.m3226&_trkparms=aid%3D555014%26algo%3DPL.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150817211709%26meid%3D722c715b2ca441c39cef0df1ac2faa20%26pid%3D100506%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26 . I remember i got an unnofficial wiimote controller and it was laggy and just really bad. Mayflash is a company that I've bought adapters from before, n64 to PC etc. Do you think it would work just like the ones nintendo sold(it seems like a pretty hard device to mess up).

I've been thinking of pulling out my old Gamecube for old time's sake, but I don't own a TV anymore as I do everything on my PC. I know the Gamecube doesn't have a standard VGA port, so what will I need to get it running on my monitor, if it's possible? My monitor is an ASUS VS247H, if that makes a difference.

Relevant Programs i have Winrar PowerISO Dolphin Emulator Win Archiver I have a game split up into individually archived ISO files. How do i combine these and play my game? (its Zelda Windwaker for gamecube)

Remember those old days? Playing The Wind Waker on you're gamecube and the games look pretty fine, golden days Then Dolphin emulator came, we could play gamecube and wii games @ 1080p. The games looking even greater then before! Now i have going a step above, the step of insanity that is called 4k Ultra HD! FQA Q: Why? A: Why not, the games look really good in 4k Ultra HD with mods Dolphin emulator have to offer! Q: How do you record this? A: I use the shadowplay encoder with MSI Afterburner recording software for less inpact of FPS. Q: Some games have framedrops, why is that? A: This only happen when i am recording the gameplay, 4k UHD recording is demanding for CPU, GPU and HDD and since i don't have an SSD yet i can't that if framerates improve if i record on an SSD. Q: What hardware you use? A: See sig or youtube video description. The Games and Videos Mario Kart: Double Dash 4k Ultra HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d-Wg72DL5Y The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 4k Ultra HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PLyEaVcbZM Super Smash Bros. I just purchased a Nintendo Gamecube ASCII Keyboard Controller. Does anyone know of a way to make this function like a normal keyboard. I know they have PS/2 to Gamecube adapters, but I have found nothing for the reverse. I have a Gamecube to USB adapter for Dolphin. But I am unsure if this will do the job. And if it does, than I don't want it to run through Dolphin. And I will have to buy another one of these so I can have four available for Smash Bros. And I don't want to purchase another one. For those of you wondering. Yes this is a legit controller. It was meant for Phantasy Star Online which was a MMO.
