In the pursuit of constructing a high-performance PC, I’ve meticulously selected components that harmonize both efficiency and power. The chassis of choice is the Phanteks Enthoo Pro TG, a versatile enclosure that comfortably houses six hard drives. This allows for a substantial storage configuration, currently envisioned as six 2TB Seagate Barracuda internal drives, culminating in a voluminous 12TB of storage space. Yet, I remain open to the idea of integrating higher-capacity drives should the need for expanded storage arise. Complementing this, I’ve incorporated a Western Digital Black SN770 1TB NVMe SSD, elevating the total storage capacity to an impressive 13TB. This strategic amalgamation of storage solutions ensures a swift system response while maintaining ample space for extensive data accumulation. The proposed memory allocation consists of 64GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, ensuring fluid multitasking and proficient data management. Powering this ensemble is the Corsair RM650x power supply, a paragon of stability and efficiency. The graphical prowess is delivered by the XFX Speedster QICK308 Radeon RX 7600—a judicious selection that promises both performance and value. At the heart of the system lies the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, a formidable CPU that’s cooled by the Deepcool AK620 DIGITAL 68.99 CFM CPU Cooler, ensuring optimal thermal regulation. The foundation of this build is the MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard, a future-ready platform that offers both robust performance and connectivity options. This setup is primarily engineered for tasks such as Unreal Engine development, and I believe it represents a significant enhancement over my previous configuration. However, I am eager to hear your expert opinions and recommendations for any potential refinements or alternatives that could further optimize this build for my intended use cases. yes it will be used for gaming.

Budget (including currency): $1800 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: UE5, Blender, Adobe Suite, Fusion360… Other details: This computer will be used for 3d modelling and renders in UE5 as well as Blender and Fusion 360. Aside from that, maybe some games like Minecraft, Modern Warfare, Valorant, Fortnite… Doesn’t need to look pretty, I just want something that is gonna be future proof and last a few years without having to upgrade due to hardware limitations. Hopefully someone can recommend something. Thanks

Budget (including currency): 2.200$ to 3.000$ budget. willing to go higher if needed, this is 300t to 400t in isk currency Country: Iceland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I work a lot in 3D. I do simulations in Houdini, and I also do games/Renders in Unreal5. other software I use are, Maya, Arnold, Substance, DaVinci, Zbrush, PS. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I don't have any existing parts, I have peripherals (mouse, keyboard, mic). I have 1 monitor and 1 drawing tablet, both 1080P. I plan on getting 1 more monitor in the future, but not at the moment. I don't need an OS. Why upgrade? I have a Laptop from 2019. it can't handle heavy siming, it crashes a lot when working in UE5, and it bluescreens a lot in UE5. I think I need a more powerful computer now. and I am willing to upgrade. I am In school and I wanted to be able to work from home since I live an hour away from it, and gas is expensive. we do have computers at school that we can use there, so I don't need another laptop. This is the build made. there is some compatibility issue, but I do not know how to solve it https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ytz334

Budget: $2200-2500 CAD (or less) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: UE5, Blender, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator...) Other details: I don't have much in terms of understanding what parts are "good" vs "bad" but I think for my price point something like a 3060 12gb could be good, I don't know? In terms of CPU I'm thinking of Ryzen 7 3800x3d and that's about all I have so far. This computer will be used for ultra realistic renders and game dev in UE5 and Blender, as well as for graphic design programs like the Adobe Cloud programs. I'm not looking for something pretty, if it works and works great than im happy. I want something that is going to be future proof and last a few years, without having to change new parts due to hardware limitations... Hopefully someone can give me some pointers or build recommendations. Thanks

Hi, so I'm making an new pc and I'm gona use it for indie game dev, and some casual low- mid level gaming. I have a limited budget tho. I am confused wether to get a i3 10th (10100f 4 core 8 thread) and a Quadro T600 (only available in budget) or wether i should get a 5600g and buy a GPU a year or 2 later. Also, pls don't waste your time suggesting the rtx 3050 bcz it's obviously not gonna sell for 250 or even less than 300 bucks. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have modded a windows 10 install to look like windows 7. Then after I enable a Virtual support feature and rebooted I lost all the icons on the PC besides the start menu with a open shell mod. I followed a guide on deleting the IconCache.db file that didn't help. I don't want to reset the PC with my steam games on it. Someone please help!

Hey guys, Long story short; I need a laptop to do my game development on. I have a desktop that I use for my gaming so I'm mainly looking for workstation preformance. I am clueless when it comes to laptops but I have a Microcenter in my general area. I want to stick to AMD processor and Nvidia Gpu simply because it is what I know and to avoid any possible complications if I transfer work to my desktop which has the same. My budget is about $2,000 but has some wiggle room. On my last trip to Microcenter I took note of this laptop from Lenovo but I have not heard much on their reputation with laptops. https://www.microcenter.com/product/649579/lenovo-legion-5-pro-16arh7h-160-gaming-laptop-computer-platinum-collection-grey I know ROG's Zephyrus line is very nice but it feels like I would be better off going with something that prioritizes cpu and ram rather that gpu and display. Any thoughts are welcome.

Hi guys! I will be moving soon to Tanzania (not reliable electricity neither internet - need for battery and at least 1TB storage), and I am looking for a laptop that fits me, could you please help me? I am a computer engineer and video game's developer, but lately, I've been kind of lost with PC hardware... I am looking for a laptop with as much battery life as possible, but powerful enough to develop "indie games" and other software. Then I'd love to have repairability and, if possible, quality parts/structure. So far, the one that have caught my eye is the Framework Laptop (with an i7-1280P). However, it is a bit too expensive for me, and I am not sure about it not having a dedicated graphics card. Do you have any recommendations for my use case? Thanks!!!!

So the place where I live still have kinda high GPU prices. I need a pc for Unity 3d, blender 3d, photoshop, premier pro, after effects and some light gaming. And there are 2 GPUs in my budget. The new RTX 3050 and the AMD RX6600 (not the xt, it's like 200$ more than the non xt) and I'm confused which one to go for. Ik 6600 is better card but I'll be doing some productive stuff which is better suited with CUDA according to my research. But the rx 6600 has overall better performance. So what shd I go with? And there is no way I can increase my budget so, politely, pls don't suggest that. Other than that I'm gonna use i5 10400f and 16gigs ram 3000mhz

Hey Guys, Long time watcher of LTT but signed up to the forums as I'm struggling currently with budgeting for a project I'm working on. Hopefully you wonderful people can help So I'm applying for a funding grant to test out some experimental FPS gameplay and map design concepts. I'm currently working on the budget for the application. As part of the budget I need to work out specs and costs for a rig. System Needs to: To play pretty much any and every FPS game on PC (As during the initial phase I will need to test existing methods and try my planned methods on other games using rental servers etc) Record gameplay footage in 1080P 60FPS or higher (I'm going to need 2 new monitors but looking at 144-240 hz, prefer 144hz 1440p and record at 1440p 60fps as I may have to zoom into footage on maps to understand how players move around the map on spectator few etc). TN Panels are fine as colour depth I have other options for any colour accurate work. VESA mounts are a must as I will have a sit stand desk due to back injury. Capture Card (Currently trying to decide between Elgato 4K60 Pro or HD60Pro). As I will also have to record footage from PS4 Pro and XBONE X (on a Sony 4k TV). I don't need 4k footage however as it's only for analysis and not as a content creator or anything. I'd like 1440P again here but not sure how. USB-C Front port (as I will be using SanDisk Extreme Portable USB-C SSDs as ISO back up of my data). The Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic (Razer Edition) is the case I've been looking at. NVMe M.2 (Ultra M.2) for Samsung 970 Pro for bootup on (Windows 10 Pro). Needs to be able to export small prototype/blocking levels and larger Battlefield style levels. Speed is important here but not sure if I can keep to consumer GPU or do I need to go workstation and still game on it? I'm probably going to stick with Unreal Engine for dev but maybe some unity and cry engine (just in case this changes the setup needed). RTX nice so I can test RTX lighting in my builds but not a deal breaker. I also want to have NAS to back up from this PC and A Razer Blade 15 (2019) 240hz. As I'm going to do a lot of 1080p/1440p video scrubbing and 6x speed viewing of footage I'm not sure if I can still get away with Gbe and HDD NAS or I need 2.5/5/10Gbe and SSD NAS. any help here would be great. The budget for the grant isn't huge (Max 50k AUD including my wages, rent and equipment for 6 months). So I can't just go overboard, I need to figure out what I will actually need to play, record, build and scrub through 1440p footage without no lag if possible. I'm assuming AMD is portably going to be the way to go as I need to record without high compression or artifacting as I need to be able to see details on spectator views of maps etc). In terms of accessories I'm probably going a Razer Ornata for keyboard and Mamba w/ hyper flux for mouse, Elgato Mini Stream Deck for ease to start recording and a razer kraken headset. Nothing too random or too high tech (The Hyperflux is purely as I don't like cables but don't like normal a battery powered mouse.) I'll also trying to keep the other storage on the build SSD's (Probably SanDisk 2.5" sata or more M.2 drives depending on the motherboard). Cheers in advance, I know there's a lot going on which is why I'm asking for help as I kinda keep getting stuck on "do I need that for this though" as I know what I need for a good gaming or workstation but as an experimental platform I'm kinda struggling. Cheers, M-Carrollz

Me and my friends are working on a game which we'd like to eventually upload to steam, but i've had one thought... Music or no music?! Would you prefer have ingame music and sound effects or just sound effects and use your own music (spotify, itunes)? It's a 2d platformer btw. THX

So I'm trying to learn Unity and I am lacking in the ideas department, so I would like some ideas for games that I could try to make to learn Unity. Also can you be semi specific, as in don't say something vague like "make a platformer" be more specific by adding a mechanic or some other thing.

Hi guys, I have a 650 watt supply and a gigabyte z68ap-d3 mobo that need upgrading for my work, typical usage will be UE4 and 3DSMax and Zbrush, also there may be some VR games testing at some point. I'd really appreciate any input on this shopping list: Graphics, one of these but i cant tell the difference: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-GTX750TI-OC-2GD5-Nvidia-GeForce-Graphics-PCI-Express/dp/B00ICUGOP0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462117563&sr=8-1&keywords=750ti or https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-1059MHz-1137MHz-DL-DVI-D-Graphics/dp/B00I5ZYI5A/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1462114944&sr=8-5&keywords=750ti I've also read that apparently the price hike from a 750ti to a 950 is really worth the performance increase? Is this true? if so could you rec a specific 950? Ram: I have 2x4Gb sticks of Crucial Vengeance 1600, What would be better doubling up to 4x4, or could i get two 8 gb sticks and have 24GBs of ram in total? would that work as long as they're same manufacturer? and then later upgrade the old sticks? Processor: Ok so this one is tricky for me as i have found this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-3-4GHz-Processor-Cache-Speed/dp/B007RMH1WY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462113194&sr=8-1&keywords=3770 I would probably never bother with overclocking so this is a good option that's compatible with my motherboard right? or would there be a better bang for my buck option? i just picked the best from my mobo's compatibilty list, but i'm looking for value for speed than the best of the best. and finally is there any diifference in having an msata and a sata SSD running in tandem? Thank you all for you time.

A few friends and I are developing a game in Unity 5 called 'Plasmatic Revolution'. I am texturing and the others are developing but we alone aren't enough to develop a proper game. This is where you come in. We are looking for people to join our team. Our objective is getting the game into a state that is suitable for a Kickstarter presentation so we could get some more resources to be able to keep developing. What's needed to join: - Programming skills in either C# or UnityScript (JavaScript works well too) - Have experience in the Unity Engine - You have to be able to work as a team and be delegated tasks So how do you join? - Comment on this post or contact me on Skype: danielaguiar2

I made a topic a few weeks ago asking if it was possible to downsize a PC without losing a bunch of my PC parts. Now that i know i can, i need some help figuring out which parts i will need to replace and what case(s) are the best choice. First off, let me state that this PC is mostly for Autodesk Maya Photoshop, UDK and GMS, but with the occassional gaming session too. I also need to down size because of travel. Travelling 12 hours via bus across the province to get to college/come home is a huge pain in the ass when they won't let you take more then 2 "suitcases" onboard without paying like.. $150 or some bullshit and the only carry-on they'll except is like a small bag/bookbag. Currently, i have: CPU: I7-2600k (LGA1155) Motherboard: Asus P8Z68 Pro-V Gen3 (i know i'll have to replace this) RAM: 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 Corsiar Vegance @ 1600MHz GPU: EVGA GTX 480 Case: Corsair Vegance C70 (i know i'll have to replace this) PSU: OCZ ZX 1000w gold cerified (link) Storage: one 128GB SSD & two 1TB 7200RPM HDD (even though this barely matters, i added it so people don't suggest removing hard drive cages) Cooling/Fans/etc: Corsair H100i + a bunch of 120mm Corsair fans Now that i've given everyone an idea of what i have, here's the problem; I know my CPU, GPU, HDD/SSD's and fans will fit in a smaller case, however i do not know if my power supply will (fairly big) and i'm not sure if the smaller motherboards have 4 slots for RAM (as i've only ever built ATX PCs). Another big issue i'm having is picking out a case that will work fine with my H100i (as it's dual rad). I don't want to get a PC case that can't fit my GTX 480 because i needed the room for an H100i either. I've (kinda) narrowed down to about 2 cases (both corsair which is funny), the 250D mini-atx case or the 240 HAF micro-atx case and both will work with my long-ass 480 (9.5 inchs/dual-slot). So... i need some feedback. I plan on selling most of my PC parts i don't need either online or via my local classifieds in order to basically fund most of my new parts, but the main problem: i just don't know exactly what will work for me and that's where you guys come in.

Have sent this to @LinusTech, as to correct him on his statement from the wan show regarding Notre dame being a problem for AC:U due to its high polycount or something like that, and he said to post it here as well, to maybe enlighten some of you about it Hope this clears some confusion over what is going on with unity and what people assume are the problems
